The topic of this paper is the description of the General Contractor Selection procedure using the AHP method. Another aim of this paper - within the scope of decision-making - is the determination of the potential General Contractor’s evaluation criteria and the selection of the best Bidder using the AHP method. We included the description of the conducted tender proceeding for the purpose of the procurement’s subject. As the decision-making options, we adopted four construction companies that submitted their bid. A key element of the studies was the paired comparison of all hierarchical structure elements. We estimated the local weighting coefficients and global priorities of particular decision-making options as well as analysed the vulnerabilities of the obtained results.

Introdução: O tratamento para os indivíduos acometidos por sepse deve ser o mais precoce possível, pois sabe-se que o tempo de internação hospitalar nesses pacientes se torna prolongado, acarretando inúmeras limitações e, até mesmo, o risco de ir a óbito. A sepse tem se tornado de grande impacto na saúde devido ao fato de ser uma das responsáveis pelas altas taxas de mortalidade hospitalar. Objetivos: Analisar a incidência de internações e mortalidade por sepse no período de um ano em um hospital do noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Metodologia: Estudo transversal, analítico, retrospectivo, do tipo observacional, realizado por intermédio de coleta de dados em prontuários eletrônicos disponibilizados pelo hospital, por meio do Código Internacional de Doenças – Sepse (CID 10 – A41) –, dos pacientes internados de janeiro a dezembro de 2018. Resultados: Foram hospitalizados, no total, 112 pacientes com diagnóstico de sepse. A idade média foi de 70, 40 anos, com predomínio do sexo masculino. O tempo de internação hospitalar foi de 10 dias e na unidade de terapia intensiva de 2 dias. A utilização da ventilação mecânica invasiva e não invasiva foi de 31,3% e 8%, respectivamente. A mortalidade ocorreu em 51,8% dos casos hospitalizados com sepse, sendo a predominância na faixa etária superior aos 81 anos. Conculsões: A mortalidade foi significativa nos pacientes, demonstrando maior prevalência na faixa etária superior aos 81 anos. Pode-se, observar, também que o tempo de internação hospitalar foi elevado assim como a utilização da ventilação mecânica invasiva.

Abstract The polyphenol content and antioxidant capacity of hyperforin and hypericin-standardized H. perforatum L. extracts may vary due to the harvest time. In this work, ethanol and ethanol–water extracts of air-dried and lyophilized flowers of H. perforatum L., collected throughout a vegetation season in central Poland, were studied. Air-dried flowers extracts had higher polyphenol (371 mg GAE/g) and flavonoid (160 mg CAE/g) content, DPPH radical scavenging (1672 mg DPPH/g), ORAC (5214 µmol TE/g) and FRAP (2.54 mmol Fe2+/g) than lyophilized flowers extracts (238 mg GAE/g, 107 mg CAE/g, 1287 mg DPPH/g, 3313 µmol TE/g and 0.31 mmol Fe2+/g, respectively). Principal component analysis showed that the collection date influenced the flavonoid and polyphenol contents and FRAP of ethanol extracts, and DPPH and ORAC values of ethanol–water extracts. The ethanol extracts with the highest polyphenol and flavonoid content protected human erythrocytes against bisphenol A-induced damage. Both high field and benchtop NMR spectra of selected extracts, revealed differences in composition caused by extraction solvent and raw material collection date. Moreover, we have shown that benchtop NMR can be used to detect the compositional variation of extracts if the assignment of signals is done previously.

Background. Implementation of the “Blue Cards” procedure has resulted in an increase in reported acts of violence, including those concerning the elderly, not because violence has become more widespread, but because the principles of the fight against domestic violence have been established and competencies of the relevant services have been distributed. Objectives. The aim of the study is to review the “Blue Cards” questionnaires of people over the age of 60 involved in domestic violence. Material and methods . The study involved 1,299 “Blue Cards” questionnaires, which were obtained in the years 2012–2013 by the Interdisciplinary Team dealing with domestic violence prevention in Szczecin. From this sample, 312 forms obtained from individuals above the age of 60 were analyzed. Results . Elderly people are involved in violence in three ways: as individuals experiencing violence, as those who use violence or as individuals who witnesses violence. Without a doubt, the majority of people who are affected by violence are women who are harmed by their husbands. Domestic violence amongst elderly people is usually disclosed after 1–3 years of its duration; however, it occasionally happens after more than 7 years. The dominant emotion in victims of domestic violence is fear, and in perpetrators – aggression. Conclusions . There are still many cases of domestic violence amongst people over 60 years of age that remain undisclosed, hence co-operation amongst services is extremely important, as well as continuously raising the competence of police officers, education, social assistance and health care specialists. The aim is to counteract violence amongst the elderly and to restore balance to their daily functioning.

A produção científica na área da sustentabilidade pode ser considerada ampla e lastreada em discussões que retratam a preocupação com essa temática. Com isso objetivou-se analisar o estado da arte relacionado a tema da sustentabilidade no meio rural, além do surgimento de ferramentas e/ou métodos para realização de mensuração. O método de pesquisa utilizado foi um estudo bibliométrico, a partir de uma abordagem quantitativa, e foi considerada a produção científica publicada entre os anos de 2008 e 2017. Assim, foi realizada uma busca na base de dados Scopus, no período de 2008 a 2017. Em uma perspectiva mais ampla, considerando o período analisado, identificou-se o crescimento da produção científica voltada à temática da sustentabilidade no meio rural, principalmente a partir de 2014. De maneira mais específica, no que se refere as ferramentas de avaliação e/ou métodos para mensurar os níveis de sustentabilidade rural, pode-se afirmar que existe um conjunto deles disponíveis para a utilização em diferentes contextos. Os artigos mais citados nesta temática discutem os objetivos, forma de operacionalização, potencialidades e limitações destas ferramentas e/ou métodos. Apesar deles serem apresentados como inovadores e com aplicabilidade bastante ampliada, alguns autores ressaltam a importância da realização de adaptações para atender as especificidades locais e/ou regionais.

Introduction. Domestic violence is a phenomenon stemming from various social issues. One of such issues, which arouses much interest, is the behavior of psychiatric patients using violence in their family. Aim. The aim of the following work was the analysis of the phenomenon of violence with reference to perpetrators - psychiatric patients from the Szczecin area in the years 2012-2013. In addition, the authors' aim was also to indicate that the beliefs held by society on aggression of psychiatric patients are not confirmed by the actual state. Material and methods. The research was conducted with the research tool prepared on the basis of the "Blue Cards" - part A questionnaire. For data gathering, the document analysis method - survey - was used. 141 psychiatric patients constituted the research group. These people have already used violence against adults, and they already had the Blue Card. The members of the group were examined on the basis of several variables, such as sex, age, and the form of the violence used. Results. Men were the ones most frequently using violence, and with regard to the forms of violence, it was most often hitting and pushing. As far as psychic violence is concerned, most perpetrators admitted they used to humiliate, criticize and bother their victims. Regarding other types of behaviors among the psychiatric patients using violence, as many as 96 respondents admitted that they used punishable threats and insults, and 71 respondents admitted they destroyed and damaged property. Conclusions. On the basis of the conducted analysis, the authors claim that the obtained data do not confirm the common belief that psychiatric patients indicate an increased level of aggression.
