Anacardium humile conhecido por cajuzinho-do-campo é encontrado em áreas de Cerrado. Esta espécie é utilizada como fitoterápica, e as folhas apresentam importantes ações farmacológicas. Com isso o estudo morfológico foliar contribui para os estudos de taxonomia, ecologia e da farmacologia. Este estudo teve por objetivo descrever as características morfológicas das folhas do cajuzinho-do-campo a partir da técnica de diafanização com azul de toluidina e safranina. As folhas apresentam-se tamanho média entre 10-25 cm, simples, coriáceas e discolores, com apenas um tipo de tricoma glandular na face abaxial, nervuras salientes na face abaxial, com apenas 1 nervura primária, sendo observadas nervuras até 4ª ordem de grandeza, aréolas completas, estômatos diacíticos com disposição randômica, F.E.V.S bifurcados com duas ramificações, não há presença de veia fimbrial na margem foliar. O estudo morfológico foliar de A. humile, apresentou importantes resultados para que possam ser utilizados na identificação do material foliar no estudo taxonômico e farmacológico evitando assim, fraudes e processamento de material fitoterápico inconsistente.

The occurrence of the black caterpillar Spodoptera cosmioides (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) has been increasing in soybean crops in Brazil leading to yield losses. The objective of this study was to evaluate antibiosis in soybean genotypes to S. cosmioides. The following parameters were evaluated: duration, viability and larval weight; duration and viability of the pre-pupal; duration, weight and viability of pupa; total cycle and sex ratio. The design was completely randomized with 18 treatments (genotypes) and 30 replicates. The genotypes PI 227687, PI227682, IAC 100 and BRS 7270 IPRO showed significant levels of antibiosis against S. cosmioides. These results will be useful for soybean producer or in breeding programs focusing on host plant resistance.

We assessed a biomass sorghum (BRS716) potential as a copper phytoextractor as well as the physiological stability under this stressful condition. A completely randomized experimental design was used for a greenhouse experiment in which sorghum plants were submitted to a range of Cu 2+ concentrations: 2.3, 10.9, 19.6, 30.5, 37.6 and 55.6 mg dm −3 . The plant growth was not affected by increasing Cu 2+ concentrations, suggesting that this species is tolerant to copper. There was a decrease in photosynthetic rate according to the increase in Cu 2+ concentration, but not at a level that could disturb plant metabolism and eventual death. The values obtained for transfer index ranged from 0.62 to 0.11 which evidenced the restriction of Cu 2+ transport to the aerial parts. The more Cu 2+ available in soil, the smaller the amount of Cu 2+ transported to aerial parts of sorghum. So, our results show that biomass sorghum has potential to be used for Cu 2+ phytoextraction in concentration of up to 20 mg dm −3 . Also, in heavily Cu 2+ polluted sites, it can be used to produce biomass for bioenergy purpose, promoting a low rate of Cu 2+ extraction. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 The research article was carried out with the objective of studying the genetic variation on the resilience of buffaloes to negative energy balance—NEB (measured by changes in body weight in early lactation)—as well as investigating genomic regions of interest for this trait. A model of reaction norms was used, considering milk production as the trait to be analyzed and solutions of the contemporary groups to weight changes as environmental gradient. In this methodology, the genetic value of the slope represents the measure of resilience of the animals. After the estimation step, a genome-wide association analysis was performed for the slope of the reaction norms model, to obtain a list of windows and associated genes. The heritability estimates for milk production over the resilience gradient ranged from 0.13 to 0.28, with lower values in the intermediate environmental groups. Regarding the productive resilience of dairy buffalo cows to NEB, the genomic windows with the highest contribution to the genetic variance were detected on chromosomes BBU 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 12, 19, and 21. A functional analysis of the genes described in the selected windows indicated association with metabolic routes related to growth and immunity of the animals, with an emphasis on the STAT6 gene. The results presented indicate that there is for this trait genetic variation to be used as selection criteria, in addition to genomic regions that can increase the precision of the selection. Avaliar a qualidade do café conilon (Coffea Canephora Pierre) depois da secagem em terreiro híbrido e de concreto, processado por via seca para as condições climáticas do Estado de Rondônia, foi o principal objetivo deste trabalho. O café foi colhido, manualmente, pelo sistema de derriça no pano, com teor de água de aproximadamente 50% (b.u.), separado por diferença de massa específica em três grupos: cerejas, boia e café mistura. Posteriormente, cada um dos grupos foi dividido em dois lotes e submetidos à secagem em terreiro híbrido e terreiro de concreto. A análise sensorial foi realizada pela degustação por especialista e a qualidade química do produto foi avaliada por meio das análises da acidez titulável, sólidos solúveis totais e condutividade elétrica. Conclui-se que o tempo necessário para que os cafés boia, mistura e cereja atingissem o teor de água de 9,5 ± 0,5 (%b.u.) foi de 168 horas no terreiro de concreto e no terreiro híbrido foi de 48, 54 e 60 horas, respectivamente. O café submetido à secagem em terreiro de concreto obteve melhor qualidade em comparação ao café secado em terreiro híbrido, decorrente da taxa de remoção de água mais lenta, em média 3,1 vezes menor que no terreiro híbrido, e em função das condições climáticas favoráveis à secagem em terreiro de concreto.

However, when biomass is consumed, residues are generated, which for the most part cannot be discarded appropriately. This study investigated the reuse of eucalyptus wood waste with the goal of transforming the residue into resistant and durable briquettes for reuse in furnaces and boilers. The physico-chemical properties of the residue were studied in terms of chemical composition by X-ray fluorescence, and its crystalline structure was evaluated by X-ray diffraction. Both thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermogravimetric analysis were used to characterize the thermal decomposition of the wood waste residue. The residue was compacted in a universal press with sufficient humidity to fabricate briquettes under different conditions of mechanical pressure. Apparent density, durability, and burning tests were carried out on the briquettes. The maximum temperature reached during burning is dependent on the fabrication compaction pressure. The briquettes proved suitable for burning in boilers and furnaces, and their durability is advantageous for handling, reuse, and transportation. This sustainability is the result of reduced sanitary costs, increased productive life of females, and increased animal welfare. This study aims to estimate genetic parameters for productive lifespan (PL) and functional productive life (FPL) associated with the following economically important traits: milk (MY), fat (FY), and protein yields (PY); fat percentage (%F) and protein percentage (%P); age at first calving (AFC); and calving interval (CI) in dairy buffaloes. The productive lifespan was defined at 48 (PL48), 60 (PL60), and 72 (PL72) months of age. The (co) variance components were estimated using the multi-trait model and the Gibbs2F90 software. To determine the selection effects for FPL72, a deterministic simulation was performed to obtain the direct and indirect genetic gains. Selection indices were calculated, including or excluding FPL72, considering the economic values of dairy cattle (economic values for 2010 and 2014 – EV10 and EV14). The estimates of heritability of PL and FPL were low, ranging from 0.09 to 0.15 for PL48 and PL72, respectively, and from 0.12 to 0.18 for FPL48 and FPL72, respectively. The genetic correlations of PL or FPL with the productive traits (MY, FY, and PY) ranged from low to moderate, obtaining values between 0.07 (PL48/MY) and 0.34 (FPL72/MY). The genetic correlations of PL or FPL with %F and %P presented negative values, with some values reaching near zero. The estimated genetic correlations between PL or FPL and the reproductive traits ranged from 0.16 (FPL72/CI) to -0.11 (PL48/AFC). Regarding the genetic gain for FPL72, the results showed that indirect selection can be achieved by selecting the productive traits. The expected responses for EV10 and EV14 ranged from +$102 to $147. The results indicate that FPL should be considered in water buffaloes to allow identifying efficient animals. Thus, this trait should be considered in genetic improvement programs. Astronium fraxinifolium, é uma das espécies arbóreas de Anacardiaceae do Cerrado brasileiro. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi caracterizar morfofisiologicamente as folhas de A. fraxinifolium, com o objetivo de reconhecer características relacionadas a aclimatação da espécie em diferentes condições de solo. Para tanto, duas populações de A. fraxinifolium foram amostradas em diferentes áreas de estudo, A1 (Solo degradado) e A2 (“Solo não degradado”). A partir dessas amostras foram quantificados compostos nitrogenados, carboidratos totais, amido, clorofila, conteúdo nutricional, densidade estomática, trocas gasosas, alocação de carbono e altura da parte aérea, comparando as áreas de estudo. Um número elevado de estômatos foi observado na superfície abaxial das folhas de A. fraxinifolium, com uma densidade estomática mais elevada ocorrendo em indivíduos de A1. Já os valores de clorofila a, b e total foram significativamente maiores em A2. O conteúdo nutricional não diferiu entre as áreas, exceto o boro, que apresenta maior concentração nas plantas de A2. É possível que a menor concentração de boro nas plantas A1 esteja relacionado a produção de clorofila. Em relação às demais análises, não houve diferenças significativas entre as áreas. Os resultados mostram que esta espécie sofre alterações na produção de clorofila, mas a fotossíntese líquida não é perturbada, sendo o baixo teor de clorofila em A1 compensado pela maior densidade estomática. Assim, essas mudanças podem ser o resultado da aclimatação dessa espécie às diferentes condições ambientais às quais está exposta. Plants native from Cerrado generally have peculiar characteristics that allow tolerating water and nutritional stress. Astronium fraxinifolium is a Anacardiaceae tree of from Brazilian Cerrado. The aim of this research was to characterize A. fraxinifolium leaves morphophysiologically, in order to recognize characteristics related to acclimatization of the species in different soil conditions. Two populations of A. fraxinifolium were sampled in different study areas, A1 (Degraded Soil) and A2 (“Undegraded Soil”). Nitrogen compounds, total carbohydrates, chlorophyll, nutritional content, stomatal density and gas exchanges were quantified, comparing the areas. A high number of stomata was observed on the abaxial surface of A. fraxinifolium leaves, with a higher density occurring in A1 individuals. The values ​​of chlorophyll and boron content were significantly higher in A2 plants. It’s possible that the lowest concentration of boron in A1 plants is related to chlorophyll production. Regardinf the other analysis, there weren’t significant differences between the areas. The results show that this species undergoes changes in production of chlorophyll, but liquid photosynthesis isn’t impaired, considering the low chlorophyll content in A1 being compensated by the higher stomatal density. Thus, these changes may be the result of acclimating this species to different environmental conditions to which it’s exposed. Assessing how soil management may affect pore size distribution and hydraulic conductivity is thus highly relevant for rainfed agriculture coping with water shortage. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of tillage treatments, designed to deepen coffee plants root system, on improving structure and physical-hydric attributes of an Inceptisol with a shallow solum. The study was conducted in an experimental area in the municipality of Nazareno, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Soil samples were collected 18 months after coffee plantation, at different depths (0, 0.25, 0.35, 0.45, 0.55, 0.66, and 0.75 m) and they were used to determine pore-size distribution, saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity. Samples were also collected in surface crusts or in the 0−0.005 m soil layer for detailed grain size analysis. Field water infiltration was measured at different water tensions. Coffee seedlings were planted in rows furrowed to depths depending on tillage treatment: 0.4 m depth, made by a furrow ridger (FP40); 0.6 m depth, made by a subsoiler coupled to a soil preparer mixing the soil to a depth of 0.6 m (FP60); 0.8 m depth, made by a subsoiler and, after mixing the soil to a depth of 0.6 m, by the soil preparer (FP80). The soil between the planting rows was covered by Brachiaria-grass. Soil sampling and field tests were performed in the coffee plants row mechanically treated, in the Brachiaria-grassed inter-row (IR) lane and in a nearby area under natural vegetation (NC). Treatments effects, either mechanical in the coffee rows (FP40, FP 60 and FP80), or biological in the inter-row lane (IR) were compared to reference (NC), representing soil conditions prior to coffee plantation. The FP60 and FP80 treatments improved water infiltration, storage and hydraulic conductivity in the planting rows to a depth of 0.5 m. A more favorable pore size distribution was obtained following these treatments, which improved the soil physical environment. Conversely, furrowing promoted compaction at each implement working depth due to the pressure applied by the rods in the subsurface soil layers, combined with subsoil moisture condition at the time of operations. Root activity of intercropped Brachiaria-grass (IR) improved soil structure, expressed by a favorable pore-size distribution and a faster hydraulic conductivity in the inter-row lane. Similar effects were obtained with FP 60 and FP80 for the coffee rows, where deep furrowing during soil preparation reduced the natural density of the Inceptisol. Therefore, the management strategies tested allowed root deepening and access to soil moisture stored in deeper layers. Transitions of the solid-vapor-liquid (SVL) were observed. The experimentally determined phase transitions were successfully modeled using the PC-SAFT equation of state. Enzymes may be retrieved from lipolytic fungi which produce high rates of lipases from a carbon source. Fungus previously selected from sugarcane bagasse underwent submersed fermentation with extra-virgin olive oil as the carbon source. Broth produced by the fungus was analyzed by spectrophotometry with substrate p-NPB and results were analyzed at 5% level. Current assay identified fungus which was capable of growth in a mineral medium with sole lipid carbon source and quantifies specific activities of lipases by substrate p-NPB. Best rates of specific lipid activities of the three fungi were 8.004 U mg-1, 5.897 U mg-1, 5.077 U mg-1, for fungus Paecilomyces formosus (first isolate), Paecilomyces formosus (second isolate) and Aspergillus tubingensis, which are rates cited for the first time for the three fungi. When compared to other microorganisms in the literature, they are higher and more active to be used in industrial processes. Neste estudo, a técnica de DRX foi empregada para análise do resíduo de polimento de pisos de concreto (RPPC) e de pasta cimentícia com adição de RPPC. Os padrões de DRX obtidos foram comparados com dados da literatura para identificação das fases dos materiais analisados. O refinamento Rietveld do padrão de DRX da pasta com adição de 12% de RPPC foi realizado com o objetivo de analisar as estruturas das fases calcita e aragonita, as quais são polimorfos do carbonato de cálcio que contribuem para o empacotamento de matrizes cimentícias. O padrão de difração do RPPC indicou elevada concentração de carbonatos, indicando a carbonatação do resíduo. A adição de RPPC em matriz cimentícia modificou os produtos de hidratação do cimento, uma vez que o resíduo induziu a formação de carboaluminatos, como o hemicarbonato. A calcita, que é uma fase estável, contribuiu melhor para o efeito de preenchimento, pois suas partículas têm maior volume que a aragonita. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique has been widely used in order to investigate anhydrous and hydrated cement phases. In this study, XRD was used in order to analyze the concrete floor polishing waste (CFPW) and cementitious paste containing CFPW. The diffractograms obtained were compared with literature data in order to identify the phases of analyzed materials. Rietveld refinement of XRD pattern of paste containing 12% of CFPW addition was also carried out, in order to analyze calcite and aragonite structures, as these phases are calcium carbonate polymorphs that contribute to matrix filling. XRD pattern of CFPW showed a high concentration of carbonate phases, indicating that the concrete waste was carbonated. The CFPW addition in the cementitious matrix changed the hydrate cement products, as it induced the formation of carboaluminate phases, such as hemicarbonate. Calcite, which is a stable phase, contributed better to the filler effect, as its particles have higher volume than aragonite. Objective: To assess the antifungal activity of the essential oils from the leaves and stems of Schinus molle in stumps of Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus fumigatus in Rio Verde, Goiás, Brazil. Methods: Leaves and stems of Schinus molle were collected in the night. The essential oils were extracted by hydrodistillation and the assessment of fungi was made in different concentrations of fluid essential oil. Results: Both essential oils showed important antifungal activity against the three assessed stumps of Aspergillus. Conclusions: Essential oils of S. molle have a high efficiency in the inhibition of growing in A. flavus, A. niger and medium efficiency in A. fumigatus in in vitro trials in different concentrations of essential oil from the leaves and the stems. Therefore, there must be more work in the assessment of this fungistatic behaviour in hothouses, in the fields and in animal models, since this antifungal activity might represent the genesis of new sources for the production of antifungal agents with agricultural and pharmaceutical uses. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2020-07-01 Introduction: Bauhinia genre is currently represented by around 300 species distributed all over the world, and a number of them with important biological actions in their extracts and essential oils. Objectives: Evaluate the chemical profile, the physicochemical characteristics and the antifungal activity of essential oils extracted from the flowers and fruits of Bauhiniavariegata over Candida genre. Methods: Flowers and fruits were collected in Rio Verde-Goiás, Brazil in the first hours of the morning. The essential oil was extracted by using the Clevenger system. Some physiochemical tests were made as organoleptic characteristics, performance (%), solubility, optical rotation, refraction index and relative density. The antifungal trial was made by using the disk diffusion method and assessing the following stumps: Candidaalbicans, C.krusei, C. tropicalis and C. guilliermondi. Results: It was proved that the essential oils are smooth and aromatic. The chemical profile showed 5 and 6 main compounds from the AEs flower and fruit, respectively. The performance was of 0,37% and 0,66%; the solubility was positive, the optical rotation was of +37,3 and +34,9 α D; the refraction index was of 1,3584 and 1,4601 in 20°C; and the relative density was of 0,937 g mL-1 and 0,931 g mL-1 in 20°C for the flower and the fruit, respectively. The results of the antifungal activity showed through the inhibition zone important results for both essential oils. All the antifungal stumps were sensitive to the assessed oily concentrations. Conclusions: The essential oils of the flower and the fruit of B. variegata show 5 and 6 main compounds, respectively, good physicochemical characteristics and special antifungal activity in comparison with the stumps of Candida. Western hemisphere goats have European, African and Central Asian origins, and some local or rare breeds are reported to be adapted to their environments and economically important. By-in-large these genetic resources have not been quantified. Using 50 K SNP genotypes of 244 animals from 12 goat populations in United States, Costa Rica, Brazil and Argentina, we evaluated the genetic diversity, population structure and selective sweeps documenting goat migration to the “New World”. Our findings suggest the concept of breed, particularly among “locally adapted” breeds, is not a meaningful way to characterize goat populations. The USA Spanish goats were found to be an important genetic reservoir, sharing genomic composition with the wild ancestor and with specialized breeds (e.g. Angora, Lamancha and Saanen). Results suggest goats in the Americas have substantial genetic diversity to use in selection and promote environmental adaptation or product driven specialization. These findings highlight the importance of maintaining goat conservation programs and suggest an awaiting reservoir of genetic diversity for breeding and research while simultaneously discarding concerns about breed designations. Os teores de água de equilíbrio higroscópico foram determinados pelo método estático gravimétrico, com atividade de água na faixa de 0,29 a 0,90 e temperaturas de 30, 40 e 50 °C. A histerese das sementes de pimenta malagueta reduz com o aumento da temperatura. A entalpia, entropia e energia livre de Gibbs de adsorção e dessorção aumentam com a redução do teor de água das sementes. A teoria da compensação entalpia-entropia é válida para os processos sortivos. A sorção da água entre as sementes e o ar envolvente é um processo não espontâneo. The objective of this study was to determine hysteresis, enthalpy, entropy, enthalpy-entropy compensation theory and Gibbs free energy for water adsorption and desorption in ‘Malagueta’ pepper seeds. Hygroscopic equilibrium moisture contents were determined by the static gravimetric method, with water activity in the range from 0.29 to 0.90 and temperatures of 30, 40 and 50 °C. The hysteresis of the ‘Malagueta’ pepper seeds reduces with the increase of temperature. Enthalpy, entropy and Gibbs free energy of adsorption and desorption increase with the reduction of the moisture content of the seeds. The enthalpy-entropy compensation theory is valid for the sorption processes. The sorption of water between seeds and the surrounding air is a non-spontaneous process. The film was deposited on a lanthanum aluminate, produced from a commercial powder with a nominal composition Bi1.8Pb0.4Sr2CaCu2Ox, was thermally treated by a domestic microwave oven. The XRD analysis of the film indicated the coexistence of Bi-2212 and Bi-2223 phases and SEM images revealed that a typical superconductor plate-like morphology was formed. From the electrical characterization, performed using DC four probes technique, it was observed an onset superconducting transition temperature measured around 81K. At the current-voltage characteristics curve, a step of electric current at zero-voltage could be observed, an indicative that the tunneling Josephson °Ccurred. A lagarta Ascia monuste orseis (Lepidoptera: Pieridae) destaca-se entre as pragas mais significativas no cultivo de Brassicaceae por causar severa desfolha na planta. O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar, em 26 genótipos de couve comum, fontes de resistência (antixenose) a A. monuste orseis. No teste de livre escolha, adotou-se o esquema casualizado de blocos; e no teste sem chance de escolha o esquema foi inteiramente casualizado. Manteiga de Jundiaí, crespa de Capão Bonito, couve de Arthur Nogueira 1, manteiga I-1811, manteiga de Ribeirão Pires I-1811, orelha-de-elefante e Pires 1 de Campinas apresentaram antixenose (não preferência para oviposição). Collard greens Brassica oleracea var. acephala is one of the most important horticultural grown in Brazil for human feeding. The caterpillar Ascia monuste orseis (Lepidoptera: Pieridae) stands out among the important pest in Brassicaceae causing severe plant defoliation. The objective of this study was to identify resistant genotypes (antixenosis) in 26 collard greens genotypes to A. monuste orseis. In free-choice test, randomized blocks were used; and in the non-choice test we adopted a completely randomized design. The cellulose utilized was obtained from recycled agroindustrial residues: sugarcane bagasse, corn stover and soybean hulls. The levels of Cu (II) ions in regenerated cellulose membranes produced with cellulose from bagasse, corn stover and soybean hulls were 0.0236 wt%, 0.0255 wt% and 0.0268 wt%, respectively. These levels were approximately 15 times lower than those observed in previous studies (0.3634 wt%). Cellular viability data show that membranes produced from bagasse cellulose do not present toxicity to the cellular cultures studied. These results demonstrate an evolution in production of regenerated cellulose membranes from agroindustrial residues mainly due to a decrease in the Cu (II) ions level, showing the possibility of application of these systems with improved membranes processing. This article presents the results of the research on the technical courses offered by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Goiano - Campus Morrinhos with the objective to analyze the process of professional insertion of the egresses of technical courses from the period of 2010 to 2014. The professional and technological education constitutes on a public policy focused on the integration between education and the demands of economic and social development at local and regional level. It is a research of an analytical nature, with a quantitative approach of the data collected. The information was obtained through the application of questionnaires to two groups of informants, being: egresses of technical courses with adhesion of 98, represented 44% and 11 employers from the Morrinhos - GO region. It was verified that 65% of the egresses are working, 30% work in their area of technical graduation, 86% have continued their studies and 53% declared that they are attending or have completed a higher education course related to technical formation. Employers were unanimous in stating that technical training represents a differential in the employee’s curriculum at the time of job selection and most of them are satisfied with the professional performance presented by contracted technicians. The development of this research indicated the need to deepen the institutional discussions about the curricular matrix of the technical courses; the areas of courses offered and greater integration between educational institutions and the productive sector, seeking the efficiency and feedback of educational policies focused on professional and technological education. ___ Este artigo apresenta os resultados da pesquisa sobre os cursos técnicos ofertados pelo Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Goiano – Campus Morrinhos, com o objetivo de analisar o processo de inserção profissional dos egressos de cursos técnicos concluintes no período de 2010 a 2014. A Educação Profissional e Tecnológica constitui-se em uma política pública voltada para a integração entre o ensino e as demandas de desenvolvimento econômico e social, em âmbito local e regional. Trata-se de pesquisa de natureza analítica, com abordagem quantitativa dos dados coletados. As informações foram obtidas por meio da aplicação de questionários a dois grupos de informantes, sendo eles: egressos de cursos técnicos com adesão de 98, representado 44%, e 11 empregadores da região de Morrinhos - GO. Verificou-se que 65% dos egressos estão trabalhando, 30% atuam em sua área de formação técnica, 86% deram continuidade aos estudos e 53% declararam estar frequentando ou terem concluído curso superior em área correlata à da formação técnica. Os empregadores foram unânimes ao afirmar que a formação técnica representa diferencial no currículo do trabalhador no momento da seleção de emprego, e a maioria deles está satisfeita com o desempenho profissional apresentado pelos técnicos contratados. O desenvolvimento desta pesquisa indicou a necessidade de aprofundamento nas discussões institucionais sobre a matriz curricular dos cursos técnicos, as áreas dos cursos ofertados e maior integração entre as instituições de ensino e o setor produtivo, buscando a eficiência e a retroalimentação das políticas educacionais voltadas para a Educação Profissional e Tecnológica.

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2011-05-13 A harmful and limiting factor regarding culture productivity is soil compaction, a parameter that can be quantified by the resistance of the soil to penetration and highly influenced by water content. These variables present spatial and temporary variability, characteristics which can be determined by the geostatistical technique. In the light of the above, the present work had as its objective the study of spatial variability of soil resistance to penetration (RP) and water content in the soil (U) in soy culture. The RP values at depths of 0,00-0,10; 0,11-0,20 and 0,21-0,30 m varied from 2,9 to 4,28 MPa and are considered harmful to the root development of legumes, although they have not influenced soy productivity which was 3887 kg ha-1. The medium water content of the soil was between 0,210 and 0,213 kg kg-1 for the three depths studied. The resistance of the soil to penetration, expressed through semivariograms, presented spatial dependence at all depths, being adjusted to the spherical model at depths of 0,00-0,10m and exponential at depths of 0,11- 0,20 and 0,21-0,30 m. The spatial variability for all studied layers presented a range of about 20m. The water content in the soil did not present spatial dependence for the depths, presenting randomized distribution. Analisar a utilização do terreiro de concreto e do terreiro híbrido como métodos distintos para a secagem do café conilon (Coffea canephora Pierre) nas condições climáticas do estado de Rondônia, bem como a eficiência deste último, foram os principais objetivos que incentivaram a realização do presente trabalho. O café foi colhido, manualmente, pelo sistema de derriça no pano com teor de água de aproximadamente 50% (b.u.). Depois da colheita o produto foi segregado por diferença de massa específica em dois lotes: cerejas e boia. Em seguida, para o processamento via úmida, os frutos cereja foram conduzidos ao descascador, obtendo-se os lotes cereja descascado e verde. Posteriormente, os quatro lotes de café (cereja, verde, boia e cereja descascado) foram divididos em dois sub lotes e submetidos à secagem em terreiro híbrido e terreiro de concreto. Observou-se que o tempo necessário para os quatro tipos de café atingirem o teor de água de 11,5 ± 1,0 (%b.u.) no terreiro de concreto foi de 192 horas. Já na secagem conduzida em terreiro híbrido o café cereja necessitou de 40 horas e os demais lotes (verde, boia e cereja descascado), necessitaram de 34 horas de secagem, resultando em uma secagem em média, 5,2 vezes mais rápida que no terreiro de concreto. Conclui-se que para a secagem do café conilon processado por via seca e via úmida, nas condições climáticas do Estado de Rondônia, o secador híbrido apresenta-se mais eficiente que o terreiro de concreto.
