Abstract Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) is a network evolved from mobile networks. Differing from the traditional network, which has a stable end‐to‐end transmission path, DTNs are sparse and intermittently connected mobile ad hoc network, which are widely used in harsh environments, such as battlefields, seabed, space communication networks, and so on. In DTNs, intermittent connectivity, partitioned network, long delays and node mobility characteristics make the network fail to communicate frequently, therefore, how to successfully forward the message is of extreme importance. Up to now, almost all the traditional models in DTNs use the store‐carry‐forward method. This paper proposes a novel clustered DTN routing model based on sensing node relationship strength. The routing mechanism takes advantage of the number of other nodes encountered by the nodes in the process of movement and the changes in the number of nodes to calculate the strength of the relationship between nodes, and clusters DTN routing according to the strength of the relationship between nodes. Moreover, the relationship between nodes in a cluster and other clusters is used to transmit messages between clusters, and messages are transmitted within clusters according to the strength of the relationship between nodes. Simulation results show that the routing mechanism not only increases the success rate of message transmission, but also reduces the transmission delay of messages and improves network performance.

Abstract Background The associations between serum uric acid and osteoporosis or osteopenia remain controversial, and few studies have explored whether BMI acts as a mediators in the association between the SUA and OP/ osteopenia. Objective To explore the relationship between serum uric acid and osteoporosis or osteopenia among US adults. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted to examine the association between serum uric acid and osteoporosis or osteopenia from four cycles of NHANES. Binary logistic regression models and restricted cubic spline models were used to evaluate the association between serum uric acid and osteoporosis or osteopenia, and interaction analysis was used to test the differences between subgroups. Mediation analysis was utilized to investigate whether BMI acts as a mediator in the association between SUA and OP/ osteopenia. Results 12581 participants aged ≥ 18 years were included. Abstract The accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) within the bone marrow microenvironment leads to diminished osteogenic differentiation and heightened lipogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells residing in the bone marrow, ultimately playing a role in the development of osteoporosis (OP). Mitigating ROS levels is a promising approach to counteracting OP. In this study, a nanozyme composed of magnesium-based zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (Mg-ZIF) was engineered to effectively scavenge ROS and alleviate OP. The results of this study indicate that Mg-ZIF exhibits significant potential in scavenging ROS and effectively promoting osteogenic differentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs). Additionally, Mg-ZIF was found to inhibit the differentiation of BMSCs into adipose cells. In vivo experiments further confirmed the ability of Mg-ZIF to mitigate OP by reducing ROS levels. Mechanistically, Mg-ZIF enhances the differentiation of BMSCs into osteoblasts by upregulating lipid metabolic pathways through ROS scavenging. The results indicate that Mg-ZIF has potential as an effective therapeutic approach for the treatment of osteoporosis.

A novel strategy of not only stimulating the immune cycle but also modulating the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment is of vital importance to efficient cancer immunotherapy. Here, a new type of spatiotemporal biomimetic “Gemini nanoimmunoregulators” was engineered to activate robust systemic photoimmunotherapy by integrating the triple-punch of amplified immunogenic cell death (ICD), tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) phenotype reprogramming and programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) degradation. The “Gemini nanoimmunoregulators” PM@RM-T7 and PR@RM-M2 were constructed by taking the biocompatible mesoporous polydopamine (mPDA) as nanovectors to deliver metformin (Met) and toll-like receptor 7/8 agonist resiquimod (R848) to cancer cells and TAMs by specific biorecognition via wrapping of red blood cell membrane (RM) inlaid with T7 or M2 peptides. mPDA/Met@RM-T7 (abbreviated as PM@RM-T7) was constructed to elicit an amplified in situ ICD effect through the targeted PTT and effectively stimulated the anticancer immunity. Meanwhile, PD-L1 on the remaining cancer cells was degraded by the burst metformin to prevent immune evasion. Subsequently, mPDA/R848@RM-M2 (abbreviated as PR@RM-M2) specifically recognized TAMs and reset the phenotype from M2 to M1 state, thus disrupting the immunosuppressive microenvironment and further boosting the function of cytotoxic T lymphocytes. This pair of sister nanoimmunoregulators cooperatively orchestrated the comprehensive anticancer activity, which remarkably inhibited the growth of primary and distant 4T1 tumors and prevented malignant metastasis. This study highlights the spatiotemporal cooperative modalities using multiple nanomedicines and provides a new paradigm for efficient cancer immunotherapy against metastatic-prone tumors.

Wireless ad hoc/sensor networks (WASN) have seen increased application in three-dimensional (3D) environments, such as underwater and aerial scenarios. However, WASN may be fragmented or unable to connect continuously due to the harsh surrounding environment or high mobility. Therefore, restoring the network connectivity and transmit data in real time is very important. This paper focuses on the critical task of restoring network connectivity in 3D WASN, a complex issue given that existing connectivity restoration algorithms for two-dimensional environments are not directly applicable or become overly complicated in 3D contexts. We present a comprehensive analysis of the current research landscape, summarizing key findings related to various aspects of 3D WASN connectivity restoration. These aspects include the application environment (underwater, in the sky, and recovery disaster), opportunities for restoration (active, passive, and active/passive), implementation strategies (clustering and sleep scheduling), and resource constraints (node deployment and movement control). Our study also proposes a classification of connectivity restoration solutions for 3D WASN, identifying existing gaps and suggesting potential future research directions. By providing specific insights and a structured overview of the field, we aim to contribute to the ongoing development of robust and resilient 3D WASN.

In microfluidic systems, it is important to maintain flow stability to execute various functions, such as chemical reactions, cell transportation, and liquid injection. However, traditional flow sources, often bulky and prone to unpredictable fluctuations, limit the portability and broader application of these systems. Existing fluidic stabilizers, typically designed for specific flow sources, lack reconfigurability and adaptability in terms of the stabilization ratios. To address these limitations, a modular and standardized stabilizer system with tunable stabilization ratios is required. In this work, we present a Lego-like modular microfluidic stabilizer system, which is fabricated using 3D printing and offers multi-level stabilization combinations and customizable stabilization ratios through the control of fluidic RC constants, making it adaptable to various microfluidic systems. A simplified three-element circuit model is used to characterize the system by straightforwardly extracting the RC constant without intricate calculations of the fluidic resistance and capacitance. By utilizing a simplified three-element model, the stabilizer yields two well-fitted operational curves, demonstrating an R-square of 0.95, and provides an optimal stabilization ratio below 1%. To evaluate the system’s effectiveness, unstable input flow at different working frequencies is stabilized, and droplet generation experiments are conducted and discussed. The results show that the microfluidic stabilizer system significantly reduces flow fluctuations and enhances droplet uniformity. This system provides a new avenue for microfluidic stabilization with a tunable stabilization ratio, and its plug-and-play design can be effectively applied across diverse applications to finely tune fluid flow behaviors in microfluidic devices.

Abstract Targeted chemo-phototherapy has received widespread attention in cancer treatment for its advantages in reducing the side effects of chemotherapeutics and improving therapeutic effects. However, safe and efficient targeted-delivery of therapeutic agents remains a major obstacle. Herein, we successfully constructed an AS1411-functionalized triangle DNA origami (TOA) to codeliver chemotherapeutic drug (doxorubicin, DOX) and a photosensitizer (indocyanine green, ICG), denoted as TOADI (DOX/ICG-loaded TOA), for targeted synergistic chemo-phototherapy. In vitro studies show that AS1411 as an aptamer of nucleolin efficiently enhances the nanocarrier’s endocytosis more than 3 times by tumor cells highly expressing nucleolin. Subsequently, TOADI controllably releases the DOX into the nucleus through the photothermal effect of ICG triggered by near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation, and the acidic environment of lysosomes/endosomes facilitates the release. The downregulated Bcl-2 and upregulated Bax, Cyt c, and cleaved caspase-3 indicate that the synergistic chemo-phototherapeutic effect of TOADI induces the apoptosis of 4T1 cells, causing ~ 80% cell death. In 4T1 tumor-bearing mice, TOADI exhibits 2.5-fold targeted accumulation in tumor region than TODI without AS1411, and 4-fold higher than free ICG, demonstrating its excellent tumor targeting ability in vivo. With the synergetic treatment of DOX and ICG, TOADI shows a significant therapeutic effect of ~ 90% inhibition of tumor growth with negligible systemic toxicity. In addition, TOADI presents outstanding superiority in fluorescence and photothermal imaging. Taken together, this multifunctional DNA origami-based nanosystem with the advantages of specific tumor targeting and controllable drug release provides a new strategy for enhanced cancer therapy.

Abstract Effective drugs with broad spectrum safety profile to all people are highly expected to combat COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2. Here we report that nelfinavir, an FDA approved drug for the treatment of HIV infection, is effective against SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19. Preincubation of nelfinavir could inhibit the activity of the main protease of the SARS-CoV-2 (IC50 = 8.26 μM), while its antiviral activity in Vero E6 cells against a clinical isolate of SARS-CoV-2 was determined to be 2.93 μM (EC50). In comparison with vehicle-treated animals, rhesus macaque prophylactically treated with nelfinavir had significantly lower temperature and significantly reduced virus loads in the nasal and anal swabs of the animals. At necropsy, nelfinavir-treated animals had a significant reduction of the viral replication in the lungs by nearly three orders of magnitude. A prospective clinic study with 37 enrolled treatment-naive patients at Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, which were randomized (1:1) to nelfinavir and control groups, showed that the nelfinavir treatment could shorten the duration of viral shedding by 5.5 days (9.0 vs. 14.5 days, P = 0.055) and the duration of fever time by 3.8 days (2.8 vs. 6.6 days, P = 0.014) in mild/moderate COVID-19 patients. The antiviral efficiency and clinical benefits in rhesus macaque model and in COVID-19 patients, together with its well-established good safety profile in almost all ages and during pregnancy, indicated that nelfinavir is a highly promising medication with the potential of preventative effect for the treatment of COVID-19.

Abstract Background Brown macroalgae dominate temperate coastal ecosystems, and their productivity is typically limited by nitrate availability. As an economically important kelp, Saccharina japonica is the most productive farmed seaweed and needs to be supplemented with sufficient nitrate throughout the cultivation process. However, molecular characterization of genes involved in nitrogen assimilation has not been conducted in brown macroalgae. Results Here, we described the identification of the nitrate reductase (NR) gene from S. japonica (SjNR). Using two different cloning methods for SjNR, i.e. rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) and cDNA cloning alone, a single fragment was obtained respectively. According to results of sequence analysis between these two fragments, the tentative coding sequence in two clones, SjNR-L and SjNR-S, were suggested to represent two transcripts of the single copy SjNR, and the ATG of SjNR-S was located inside the third exon of SjNR-L. In the 5′ upstream sequence of each transcript, promoter core elements, response elements, especially multiple N response elements which occurred in microalgal NR, were all predicted. Further sequence analysis revealed that both transcripts encoded all five domains conserved in eukaryotic plant NRs. RT-qPCR results showed that the transcription level of SjNR in juvenile sporophytes could be significantly induced by nitrate and inhibited by ammonium, which was in line with plant NRs. The recombinant SjNR-L and SjNR-S were all proved to have NR activity, suggesting that the single-copy gene SjNR might be regulated on transcription level based on alternative promoters and multiple transcriptional start sites. Moreover, both NADH and NADPH were found to be able to act as electron donors for SjNR alone, which is the first confirmation that brown algal NR has a NAD(P)H-bispecific form. Conclusion These results will provide a scientific basis for understanding the N demand of kelp in various stages of cultivation and evaluating the environmental remediation potential of kelp in eutrophic sea areas.

Summary: Membrane separation technology is considered an effective strategy to remove pollutants in sewage. However, it remains a significant challenge to fabricate inexpensive membranes with high purification efficiency. Therefore, the present study proposes the integration of silk nanofibrils (SNFs) and polydopamine⊂metal-organic framework (PDA⊂MOF) nanoparticles to prepare self-supporting membranes, which can effectively intercept nanoparticle pollutants through the size exclusion effect and can strongly adsorb organic dyes and metal ions by SNF. In addition, PDA⊂MOF enables these membranes to adsorb small molecules and heavy metal ions during the filtration process, thereby effectively removing various pollutants from sewage. The integration of size-exclusion and adsorption capabilities enables the SNF/PDA⊂MOF membrane to remove nanoparticles, small-molecule dyes, heavy metal ions, and radioactive elements. This work provides a rational approach for the design and development of the next generation of water treatment membranes and is expected to be used in environmental, food-related, and biomedical fields.

The clinical outcomes of cancer nanovaccine have been largely impeded owing to the low antigen-specific T cell response rate and acquired resistance caused by the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). Here, we reported a tumor acidity-responsive nanovaccine to remodel the immunosuppressive TME and expand the recruitment of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) using hybrid micelles (HM), which encapsulated colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1-R) inhibitor BLZ-945 and indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) inhibitor NLG-919 in its core and displayed a model antigen ovalbumin (OVA) on its surface (denoted as BN@HM-OVA). The bioactive nanovaccine is coated with a polyethylene glycol (PEG) shell for extending nanoparticle circulation. The shell can be shed in response to the weakly acidic tumor microenvironment. The decrease in size and the increase in positive charge may cause the deep tumor penetration of drugs. We demonstrated that the bioactive nanovaccine dramatically enhance antigen presentation by dendritic cells (DCs) and drugs transportation into M1-like tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and tumor cells via size reduction and increasing positive charge caused by the weakly acidic TME. Such bioactive nanovaccine could remodel the immunosuppressive TME into an effector T cells favorable environment, leading to tumor growth inhibition in prophylactic and therapeutic E.G7-OVA tumor models. Furthermore, combining the bioactive nanovaccine with simultaneous anti-PD-1 antibody treatment leads to a long-term tumor inhibition, based on the optimal timing and sequence of PD-1 blockade against T cell receptor. This research provides a new strategy for the development of efficient cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract Dynamic and heterogeneous interaction between tumor cells and the surrounding microenvironment fuels the occurrence, progression, invasion, and metastasis of solid tumors. In this process, the tumor microenvironment (TME) fractures cellular and matrix architecture normality through biochemical and mechanical means, abetting tumorigenesis and treatment resistance. Tumor cells sense and respond to the strength, direction, and duration of mechanical cues in the TME by various mechanotransduction pathways. However, far less understood is the comprehensive perspective of the functions and mechanisms of mechanotransduction. Due to the great therapeutic difficulties brought by the mechanical changes in the TME, emerging studies have focused on targeting the adverse mechanical factors in the TME to attenuate disease rather than conventionally targeting tumor cells themselves, which has been proven to be a potential therapeutic approach. In this review, we discussed the origins and roles of mechanical factors in the TME, cell sensing, mechano‐biological coupling and signal transduction, in vitro construction of the tumor mechanical microenvironment, applications and clinical significance in the TME.

Fresh alfalfa is difficult to ensile successfully because of its high moisture content and greater susceptibility to spoilage by Clostridia, Bacilli or Enterobacter. In this study, we evaluated the effects of mixing high-moisture alfalfa with peanut vine in different proportions on the bacterial communities and fermentation characteristics of silage. The high-moisture alfalfa and peanut vine were mixed at ratios of 10:0 (CK), 8:2 (TI), 7:3 (T2), 6:4 (T3) and 5:5 (T4), respectively. For each treatment, silos (25 × 35 cm) were anaerobically fermented in darkness at room temperature and analyzed after 45 days. The results showed that the CK silage was weakly fermented, as indicated by a low lactic acid concentration, a high pH value, and high levels of propionic acid (PA), butyric acid (BA) and ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N). As the proportion of peanut vine in the mixture increased, the pH level decreased, and levels of BA, propionic acid, NH3-N, crude protein(CP), nonprotein nitrogen and soluble protein also declined (p < 0.05), while the lactic acid concentration increased and levels of neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and water-soluble carbohydrates (WSC) also rose (p < 0.05). A protein component analysis of silage mixtures using the Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System (CNCPS) showed that the content of the nonprotein nitrogen component (PA) decreased when the proportion of peanut vine increased, whereas the content of rapidly degraded protein (PB1) increased. Mixing with peanut vine also influenced the distribution of the bacterial community. Compared with the CK silage, the relative abundances of Enterococcus, Garciella and Anaerosporobacter in T2, T3 and T4 were significantly lower, while the relative abundance of Lactobacillus was significantly higher. In the T2, T3 and T4 groups, Garciella and Anaerosporobacter were not detected. In summary, in this study, we ensiled high-moisture alfalfa, which was weakly fermented. We found that mixing with peanut vine improved fermentation quality and optimized the structure of the bacterial community. Therefore, to improve the fermentation quality and nutritional value of silage, high-moisture alfalfa should be ensiled with at least 30% peanut vine.

Abstract Background Tipburn, also known as leaf tip necrosis, is a severe issue in Chinese cabbage production. One known cause is that plants are unable to provide adequate Ca2+ to rapidly expanding leaves. Bacterial infection is also a contributing factor. Different cultivars have varying degrees of tolerance to tipburn. Two inbred lines of Chinese cabbage were employed as resources in this research. Results We determined that the inbred line ‘J39290’ was the tipburn resistant material and the inbred line ‘J95822’ was the tipburn sensitive material based on the severity of tipburn, and the integrity of cell membrane structure. Ca2+ concentration measurements revealed no significant difference in Ca2+ concentration between the two materials inner leaves. Transcriptome sequencing technology was also used to find the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of ‘J95822’ and ‘J39290’, and there was no significant difference in the previously reported Ca2+ uptake and transport related genes in the two materials. However, it is evident through DEG screening and classification that 23 genes are highly linked to plant-pathogen interactions, and they encode three different types of proteins: CaM/CML, Rboh, and CDPK. These 23 genes mainly function through Ca2+-CaM/CML-CDPK signal pathway based on KEGG pathway analysis, protein interaction prediction, and quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) of key genes. Conclusions By analyzing the Ca2+ concentration in the above two materials, the transcription of previously reported genes related to Ca2+ uptake and transport, the functional annotation and KEGG pathway of DEGs, it was found that Ca2+ deficiency was not the main cause of tipburn in ‘J95822’, but was probably caused by bacterial infection. This study lays a theoretical foundation for exploring the molecular mechanism of resistance to tipburn in Chinese cabbage, and has important guiding significance for genetics and breeding.

Abstract In predictable delay tolerant networks (PDTNs), the network topology is known a priori or can be predicted over time, such as space planet networks and vehicular networks based on public buses or trains. Due to the intermittent connectivity, network partitioning, and long delays in PDTNs, most of the researchers mainly focuses on routing and data access research. However, topology control can improve energy effectiveness and increase the communication capacity, thus how to maintain the dynamic topology of PDTNs becomes crucial. In this paper, a contact ability based topology control method for PDTNs is proposed. First, the contact ability is calculated using our contact ability calculation model, and then the PDTNs is modeled as an undirected weighted contact graph which includes spatial and contact ability information. The topology control problem is defined as constructing a minimum spanning tree (MST) that the contact ability of the MST is maximized. We propose two algorithms based on undirected weighted contact graph to solve the defined problem, and compare them with the latest method in terms of energy cost and contact ability. Extensive simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithms can guarantee data transmission effectively, and reduce the network energy consumption significantly.

It is highly attractive to design pseudocapacitive metal oxides as anodes for supercapacitors (SCs). However, as they have poor conductivity and lack active sites, they generally exhibit an unsatisfied capacitance under high current density. Herein, polypyrrole-coated low-crystallinity Fe2O3 supported on carbon cloth (D-Fe2O3@PPy/CC) was prepared by chemical reduction and electrodeposition methods. The low-crystallinity Fe2O3 nanorod achieved using a NaBH4 treatment offered more active sites and enhanced the Faradaic reaction in surface or near-surface regions. The construction of a PPy layer gave more charge storage at the Fe2O3/PPy interface, favoring the limitation of the volume effect derived from Na+ transfer in the bulk phase. Consequently, D-Fe2O3@PPy/CC displayed enhanced capacitance and stability. In 1 M Na2SO4, it showed a specific capacitance of 615 mF cm−2 (640 F g−1) at 1 mA cm−2 and still retained 79.3% of its initial capacitance at 10 mA cm−2 after 5000 cycles. The design of low-crystallinity metal oxides and polymer nanocomposites is expected to be widely applicable for the development of state-of-the-art electrodes, thus opening new avenues for energy storage.

Iron is a trace metal that is found in animals, plants, and the human body. Human iron absorption is hampered by plant iron shortage, which leads to anemia. Leafy vegetables are one of the most direct and efficient sources of iron for humans. Despite the fact that ferrotrophic disorder is common in calcareous soil, however, non-heading Chinese cabbage performs a series of reactions in response to iron deficiency stress that help to preserve iron homeostasis in vivo. In this study, we discovered that iron deficiency stress caused leaf yellowing and impeded plant development in both iron-deficient and control treatments by viewing or measuring phenotypic, chlorophyll content, and Fe2+ content in both iron-deficient and control treatments. We found a total of 9213 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in non-heading Chinese cabbage by comparing root and leaf transcriptome data with iron deficiency and control treatments. For instance, 1927 DEGs co-expressed in root and leaf, including 897 up-regulated and 1030 down-regulated genes, respectively. We selected some key antioxidant genes, hormone signal transduction, iron absorption and transport, chlorophyll metabolism, and transcription factors involved in the regulation of iron deficiency stress utilizing GO enrichment, KEGG enrichment, multiple types of functional annotation, and Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA). This study identifies prospective genes for maintaining iron homeostasis under iron-deficient stress, offering a theoretical foundation for further research into the molecular mechanisms of greater adaptation to iron-deficient stress, and perhaps guiding the development of iron-tolerant varieties.

APETALA2/ETHYLENE RESPONSIVE FACTOR (AP2/ERF), a plant-specific transcription factor (TF) family, plays an essential role in the growth and development of plants, and in their response to biotic and abiotic stresses. However, information on AP2/ERF in Cucurbita moschata (pumpkin), an edible and medicinal vegetable used worldwide, is scarce. A total of 212 AP2/ERF genes were identified in the C. moschata genome (CmoAP2/ERFs). Based on phylogenetic analysis, they were divided into four groups—28 AP2s, 92 ERFs, 86 dehydration-responsive element-binding (DREB) factors, and 6 ABI3/VPs (RAV). The 212 AP2/ERF genes were unevenly distributed on the 20 chromosomes of C. moschata. The results of structural analysis showed the absence of introns on 132 CmoAP2/ERFs. Four pairs of tandem duplication and 155 pairs of segmental duplication events were identified, which indicated that segmental duplications might be the main reason for the expansion of the CmoAP2/ERF family. The analysis of cis-regulatory elements (CREs) showed that most of the CmoAP2/ERFs contained hormone response elements (ABREs, EREs) in their promoters, suggesting that AP2/ERFs could contribute to the processes regulated by ethylene and abscisic acid. By comparing the transcriptome of ethephon-treated and control plants, we found that 16 CmoAP2/ERFs were significantly upregulated after ethephon treatment. Furthermore, we determined the expression patterns of these genes at different developmental stages of female and male flowers. This study provides insights into the identification, classification, physicochemical property, phylogenetic analysis, chromosomal location, gene structure, motif identification, and CRE prediction of the AP2/ERF superfamily in C. moschata. Sixteen CmoAP2/ERF genes were identified as ethylene-inducible genes. The results of this study will be valuable for understanding the roles of CmoAP2/ERFs in ethylene response and should provide a foundation for elucidating the function of AP2/ERF TFs in C. moschata.

Therapeutic approaches of combining conventional photodynamic therapy (PDT) with other adjuvant treatments to sensitize PDT represent an appealing strategy. Herein, a novel synergetic “nanobomb” strategy based on glutathione (GSH)-responsive biodegradation was proposed to effectively destroy tumors expeditiously and accurately. This “nanobomb” was rationally constructed via the simultaneous encapsulation of methylene blue (MB) and l-arginine (L-Arg) into polyethylene glycol (PEG) modified mesoporous organosilicon nanoparticles (MON). The resulting L-Arg/MB@MP initially exhibited prolonged blood circulation, improved bioavailability, and enhanced tumor accumulation in mice after tail vein injection according to the pharmacokinetic investigations, before the nanoparticles were entirely excreted. Under laser irradiation, L-Arg/MB@MP produced remarkable reactive oxygen species (ROS) directly for PDT therapy, while a portion of ROS may oxidize L-Arg to generate nitric oxide (NO) not only for gas therapy (GT) but also serve as a biological messenger to regulate vasodilation to alleviate the tumor hypoxia. Subsequently, the rapidly released NO was further oxidized to reactive nitrogen species, which together with ROS promote immunogenic cell death by inducing G2/M cell-cycle arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells, and eventually resulting in enhanced anti-tumor immune responses. Moreover, the GSH depletion in tumor tissues induced by L-Arg/MB@MP biodegradation can cooperate with GT to amplify the therapeutic effect of PDT. These results demonstrate that this “nanobomb” provides new ideas for clinical translation to treat tumor patients in terms of synergistic PDT-GT nanotherapy in hypoxic-solid tumors.

Purpose: To develop an effective diagnostic model for bone metastasis of gastric cancer by combining 18F-FDG PET/CT and clinical data.Materials and Methods: A total of 212 gastric cancer patients with abnormal bone imaging scans based on 18F-FDG PET/CT were retrospectively enrolled between September 2009 and March 2020. Risk factors for bone metastasis of gastric cancer were identified by multivariate logistic regression analysis and used to create a nomogram. The performance of the nomogram was evaluated by using receiver operating characteristic curves and calibration plots.Results: The diagnostic power of the binary logistic regression model incorporating skeleton-related symptoms, anemia, the SUVmax of bone lesions, bone changes, the location of bone lesions, ALP, LDH, CEA, and CA19-9 was significantly higher than that of the model using only clinical factors (p = 0.008). The diagnostic model for bone metastasis of gastric cancer using a combination of clinical and imaging data showed an appropriate goodness of fit according to a calibration test (p = 0.294) and good discriminating ability (AUC = 0.925).Conclusions: The diagnostic model combined with the 18F-FDG PET/CT findings and clinical data showed a better diagnosis performance for bone metastasis of gastric cancer than the other studied models. Compared with the model using clinical factors alone, the additional 18F-FDG PET/CT findings could improve the diagnostic efficacy of identifying bone metastases in gastric cancer.

Recently, drug delivery vehicles based on nanotechnology have significantly attracted the attention of researchers in the field of nanomedicine since they can achieve ideal drug release and biodistribution. Among the various organic or inorganic materials that used to prepare drug delivery vehicles for effective cancer treatment, serum albumin-based nanovehicles have been widely developed and investigated due to their prominent superiorities, including good biocompatibility, high stability, nontoxicity, non-immunogenicity, easy preparation, and functionalization, allowing them to be promising candidates for cancer diagnosis and therapy. This article reviews the recent advances on the applications of serum albumin-based nanovehicles in cancer diagnosis and therapy. We first introduce the essential information of bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human serum albumin (HSA), and discuss their drug loading strategies. We then discuss the different types of serum albumin-based nanovehicles including albumin nanoparticles, surface-functionalized albumin nanoparticles, and albumin nanocomplexes. Moreover, after briefly discussing the application of serum albumin-based nanovehicles used as the nanoprobes in cancer diagnosis, we also describe the serum albumin-based nanovehicle-assisted cancer theranostics, involving gas therapy, chemodynamic therapy (CDT), phototherapy (PTT/PDT), sonodynamic therapy (SDT), and other therapies as well as cancer imaging. Numerous studies cited in our review show that serum albumin-based nanovehicles possess a great potential in cancer diagnostic and therapeutic applications.

In the harsh environment, wireless sensor networks can suffer from a significant damage that causes many nodes/links to fail simultaneously and the network to get splitted into multiple disjoint partitions. In such case, linking the separated partitions by placing the least number of relay nodes and obstacle-avoiding to re-establish a strongly connected network topology is necessary to maintain the functional operations of wireless sensor network. However, the problem of finding the minimum count and the position of relay nodes is NP-hard hence heuristics methods are preferred. In this paper, we present a novel Obstacle-Avoiding Connectivity Restoration based on Quadrilateral Steiner Tree (OACRQST) algorithm to address this problem. First, the appropriate quadrilaterals are selected to connect the separated partitions and the Steiner nodes of these quadrilaterals are found. Then the disjoint islands are connected with the triangle Steiner tree or minimum spanning tree method, which are not connected by these selected quadrilaterals. Finally, relay nodes are placed to the appropriate position according to the edges of Steiner tree to restore network connectivity. However, if the found position is in the area of the obstacle, the relay node will be placed at the position of the bordering that nearest to the found position. If the network still is not connected, the relay nodes will be placed at the appropriate position according to the bordering of the obstacle starting from the node placed at the position of the bordering nearest to the found position exploring the left rule. Extensive simulation experiments demonstrate the beneficial aspects of the resulting topology with respect to number of relaying nodes, degree of connectivity and fault resilience.

Recently, multiparty quantum key agreement (MQKA) protocols have gained increasing attention. Several MQKA protocols in the traveling mode have been proposed for higher key generation rates, which, however, are vulnerable to a collusive attack presented by Liu. In this paper, an analysis of Liu's collusive attacks on Cao et al.'s protocol is given, based on which an efficient MQKA protocol that requires only sequential communication of a single d-level quantum system is put forward. Because of the single d-level quantum system, our protocol has huge advantages in scalability and can be realized with the state-of-the-art technology. The scalability means that each additional participant is only required to perform a unitary operator that is comparatively simple, and the complexity of measurements remains independent of the number of participants. Our protocol can also resist Liu's collusive attacks due to the encrypted quantum channel and has an efficiency rate of 1/2N(N is the number of participants) that is much better than those of other quantum key agreement protocols. In addition, by using the proposed encoding method, a wide class of problems for which quantum information protocols based on multisystem entanglement can be mapped into much simpler ones involving only one system.

Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is rich in specific glucosinolates (GSLs), which benefit human health and special flavor formation. Although the basic GSLs metabolic pathway in Brassicaceae plants is clear, the regulating mechanism for specific glucosinolates content in radish fleshy taproots is not well understood. In this study, we discovered that there was a significant difference in the GSLs profiles and the content of various GSLs components. Glucoraphasatin (GRH) is the most predominant GSL in radish taproots of different genotypes as assessed by HPLC analysis. Further, we compared the taproot transcriptomes of three radish genotypes with high and low GSLs content by employing RNA-seq. Totally, we identified forty-one differentially expressed genes related to GSLs metabolism. Among them, thirteen genes (RsBCAT4, RsIPMDH1, RsMAM1a, RsMAM1b, RsCYP79F1, RsGSTF9, RsGGP1, RsSUR1, RsUGT74C1, RsST5b, RsAPK1, RsGSL-OH, and RsMYB28) were significantly higher co-expressed in the high content genotypes than in low content genotype. Notably, correlation analysis indicated that the expression level of RsMYB28, as an R2R3 transcription factor directly regulating aliphatic glucosinolate biosynthesis, was positively correlated with the GRH content. Co-expression network showed that RsMYB28 probably positively regulated the expression of the above genes, particularly RsSUR1, and consequently the synthesis of GRH. Moreover, the molecular mechanism of the accumulation of this 4-carbon (4C) GSL in radish taproots was explored. This study provides new perspectives on the GSLs accumulation mechanism and genetic improvements in radish taproots.

Intelligent drug delivery systems based on nanotechnology have been widely developed and investigated in the field of nanomedicine since they were able to maximize the therapeutic efficacy and minimize the undesirable adverse effects. Among a variety of organic or inorganic nanomaterials available to fabricate drug delivery systems (DDSs) for cancer therapy and diagnosis, poly(D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) has been extensively employed due to its biocompatibility and biodegradability. In this paper, we review the recent status of research on the application of PLGA-based drug delivery systems (DDSs) in remotely triggered cancer therapy and the strategies for tumor imaging provided by PLGA-based DDSs. We firstly discuss the employment of PLGA-based DDSs for remotely triggered cancer therapy, including photo-triggered, ultrasound-triggered, magnetic field-triggered, and radiofrequency-triggered cancer therapy. Photo-triggered cancer therapy involves photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), and photo-triggered chemotherapeutics release. Ultrasound-triggered cancer therapy involves high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment, ultrasound-triggered chemotherapeutics release, and ultrasound-enhanced efficiency of gene transfection. The strategies which endows PLGA-based DDSs with imaging properties and the PLGA-based cancer theranostics are further discussed. Additionally, we also discuss the targeting strategies which provide PLGA-based DDSs with passive, active or magnetic tumor-targeting abilities. Numerous studies cited in our review demonstrate the great potential of PLGA-based DDSs as effective theranostic agent for cancer therapy and diagnosis.

Research of nanotechnology for cancer therapy and diagnosis extends beyond drug delivery into the targeted site or surveillance the distribution of nanodrugs in vivo or distinction tumor tissue from normal tissue. To satisfy the clinic needs, nanotheranostic platform should hide the surveillance by immune system and the sequestration by filtration organs (i.e., liver and spleen). Use of biologically derived cellular components in the fabrication of nanoparticles can hide these barriers. In this review, we update the recent progress on cell membrane-coated nanoparticles for cancer theranostics. We hope this review paper can inspire further innovations in biomimetic nanomedicine.

As part of a collective research effort towards greener aviation, the present study focuses on the noise impact of aircraft operations around major airports. To this end, an aircraft noise prediction platform is developed, which relies on state-of-the-art functionalities as well as more specific, innovative features. Originally built upon the Aircraft Noise and Performance (ANP) database and its Noise–Power–Distance (NPD) table, the method is further refined to alleviate most of their inherent limitations (e.g., standardized and simplified aircraft noise scenarios). The resulting aircraft noise prediction platform is validated against benchmark cases of increasing complexity, being then applied to real-life situations involving actual aircraft operations around Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Specific comparative analyses are conducted, which allow highlighting the variability of the noise impact by aircraft, depending on their type (A330, B777) and/or operational conditions (power settings, meteorological conditions, routes, banks, etc.). The study delivers insightful outcomes, whether phenomenological (aircraft noise impact) or methodological (aircraft noise prediction). As a by-product, it illustrates how noise prediction methods/platforms such as the present one may help in guiding the further expansion of airport operations and/or infrastructures (as is currently the case with HKIA).

Tetraselmis subcordiformis, a unicellular marine green alga, is used widely in aquaculture as an initial feeding for fish, bivalve mollusks, penaeid shrimp larvae, and rotifers because of its rich content of amino acids and fatty acids. A stable nuclear transformation system using the herbicide phosphinothricin (PPT) as a selective reagent was established previously. In this research, the recombinant expression in T. subcordiformis was investigated by particle bombardment with the rt-PA gene that encodes the recombinant human tissue-type plasminogen activator (Reteplase), which is a thrombolytic agent for acute myocardial infarction treatment. Transgenic algal strains were selected by their resistance to PPT, and expression of rt-PA was validated by PCR, Southern blotting, and Western blotting, and bioactivity of rt-PA was confirmed by the fibrin agarose plate assay for bioactivity. The results showed that rt-PA was integrated into the genome of T. subcordiformis, and the expression product was bioactive, indicating proper post-transcriptional modification of rt-PA in T. subcordiformis. This report contributes to efforts that take advantage of marine microalgae as cell factories to prepare recombinant drugs and in establishing a characteristic pathway of oral administration in aquaculture.

Taproot skin color is a crucial visual and nutritional quality trait of radish, and purple skin is most attractive to consumers. However, the genetic mechanism underlying this character is unknown. Herein, F2 segregating populations were constructed to investigate radish genomic regions with purple skin genes. Segregation analysis suggested that pigment presence was controlled by one dominant gene, Rsps. A bulk segregant approach coupled to whole-genome sequencing (QTL-seq) and classical linkage mapping narrowed the Rsps location to a 238.51-kb region containing 18 genes. A gene in this region, designated RsMYB1.1 (an Arabidopsis PAP1 homolog), was a likely candidate gene because semiquantitative RT-PCR and quantitative real-time PCR revealed RsMYB1.1 expression in only purple-skinned genotypes, sequence variation was found between white- and purple-skinned radishes, and an InDel marker in this gene correctly predicted taproot skin color. Furthermore, four RsMYB1.1 homologs (RsMYB1.1-1.4) were found in “XYB36-2” radish. RsMYB1.1 and the previously mapped and cloned RsMYB1.4 (contributing to red skin) were located on different chromosomes and in different subclades of a phylogenetic tree; thus, they are different genes. These findings provide insight into the complex anthocyanin biosynthesis regulation in radish and information for molecular breeding to improve the anthocyanin content and appearance of radish taproots.

Golden tides dominated by Sargassum spp. are occurring at an accelerated rate worldwide. In China, Sargassum has started to bloom in the Yellow Sea and led to tremendous economic losses, but the underlying biological causes and mechanisms are still unclear. Although algae-associated bacteria were suggested to play crucial roles in algal blooms, the profiles of bacteria associated with drifting Sargassum remain unexplored. In this study, the community structures and functions of Sargassum-associated bacteria were analyzed using the high-throughput sequencing data of the V5–V7 hypervariable region of the 16S rRNA gene. Molecular identification revealed that the golden tide analyzed in the Yellow Sea was dominated by a single species, Sargassum horneri. They were a healthy brown color nearshore but were yellow offshore with significantly decreased chlorophyll contents (P < 0.01), which indicates that yellow S. horneri was under physiological stress. The structural and functional analyses of bacterial communities indicated that the drifting S. horneri had an obvious selectivity on their associated bacteria against surrounding seawater. Although the bacterial communities phylogenetically differed between brown and yellow S. horneri (P < 0.01), their dominant functions were all nitrogen and iron transporters, which strongly indicates microbial contribution to blooming of the algal host. For the first time, potential epiphytic and endophytic bacteria associated with Sargassum were independently analyzed by a modified co-vortex method with silica sand. We showed that the composition of dominant endophytes, mainly Bacillus and Propionibacterium, was relatively consistent regardless of host status, whereas the epiphytic operational taxonomic units (OTUs) greatly varied in response to weakness of host status; however, dominant functions were consistent at elevated intensities, which might protect the host from stress related to nitrogen or iron deficiency. Thus, we propose that host physiological status at different intensities of functional demands, which were related to variable environmental conditions, may be a critical factor that influences the assembly of epiphytic bacterial communities. This study provided new insight into the structure and potential functions of associated bacteria with golden tide blooms.

Algae-bacteria associations occurred widely in marine habitats, however, contributions of bacteria to macroalgal blooming were almost unknown. In this study, a potential endophytic strain SI-3 was isolated from Ulva prolifera, the causative species for the world's largest green tide in the Yellow Sea, following a strict bleaching treatment to eliminate epiphytes. The genomic sequence of SI-3 was determined in size of 4.8 Mb and SI-3 was found to be mostly closed to Pseudomonas stutzeri. To evaluate the characteristics of SI-3 as a potential endophyte, the genomes of SI-3 and other 20 P. stutzeri strains were compared. We found that SI-3 had more strain-specific genes than most of the 20 P. stutzeri strains. Clusters of Orthologous Groups (COGs) analysis revealed that SI-3 had a higher proportion of genes assigned to transcriptional regulation and signal transduction compared with the 20 P. stutzeri strains, including four rhizosphere bacteria, indicating a complicated interaction network between SI-3 and its host. P. stutzeri is renowned for its metabolic versatility in aromatic compounds degradation. However, significant gene loss was observed in several aromatic compounds degradation pathways in SI-3, which may be an evolutional adaptation that developed upon association with its host. KEGG analysis revealed that dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium (DNRA) and denitrification, two competing dissimilatory nitrate reduction pathways, co-occurred in the genome of SI-3, like most of the other 20 P. stutzeri strains. We speculated that DNRA of SI-3 may contribute a competitive advantage in nitrogen acquisition of U. prolifera by conserving nitrogen in NH4+ form, as in the case of microalgae bloom. Collectively, these data suggest that Pseudomonas sp. strain SI-3 was a suitable candidate for investigation of the algae-bacteria interaction with U. prolifera and the ecological impacts on algal blooming.

The activating mutations of micro RNA (miR)-17 have been revealed in tumors such as human non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and T cell leukemia. However, it is unclear about the role of miR-17 in glioma cells. The current study aimed to investigate effects of miR-17 mimics or inhibitor on the viability and migration of rat glioma C6 cells, and explore possible mechanisms.The expression of miR-17 in rat glioma C6 cells and normal brain tissue was detected by quantitative PCR. Protein expression of Cyclin D1 in rat glioma C6 cells and normal brain tissue was measured by Western Blot. Glioma C6 cells were transfected with MiR-17 mimics or inhibitor. Cells that were not transfected (Lipofectamine only) and cells that were transfected with nonsense RNA negative control served as control. MTT assay was utilized to detect cell viability, and cell wound scratch assay was utilized to examine the migration index. In addition, protein expression of Cyclin D1, p-Akt and Akt in MiR-17 mimics or inhibitor-transfected glioma C6 cells was detected by Western Blot. This study had been approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University. All applicable international, national, and/or institutional guidelines for the care and use of animals were followed.The expression of miR-17 was significantly lower, whereas the expression of Cyclin D1 was significantly higher in glioma C6 cells compared to normal brain tissue. MiR-17 mimics decreased the viability and migration of glioma C6 cells markedly at 48 h. In addition, MiR-17 inhibitor increased the viability and migration of glioma C6 cells at 24 and 48 h. The protein expression of Cyclin D1, p-Akt and Akt in glioma C6 cells decreased after transfection with miR-17 mimics for 72 h, and increased after transfection with miR-17 inhibitor for 72 h.The reduced miR-17 levels in glioma cells increased cell viability and migration, which correlates with increased expression of Cyclin D1, p-Akt and Akt.

The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of microwave pretreatments on methane production from two switchgrass tissues (leaf vs. stem). The methane production from the leaf fraction was significantly affected by the microwave final temperature, while production from the stem fraction was affected by the combination of the microwave final temperature and heating rate. Thus, the highest methane yield from the leaf (134.81 mL CH4/g of volatile solids (VS)) was obtained at 100 °C, while the highest yield from the stem (99.35 mL CH4/g VS) was obtained at 150 °C, with a heating rate of 10 °C/min. Although methane production from the leaf fraction was merely enhanced by 9.1% after microwave pretreatments, the time required to reach 80% of ultimate methane production was reduced by 12 days. For the stem fraction, methane production was improved by 5.2% after microwave pretreatment, and the time to obtain 80% of ultimate methane production increased.

The aberrant activation of Notch-1 signaling pathway has been proven to be associated with the development and progression of cancers. However, the specific roles and the underlying mechanisms of Notch-1 signaling pathway on the malignant behaviors of breast cancer are poorly understood. In this study, using multiple cellular and molecular approaches, we demonstrated that activation of Notch-1 signaling pathway promoted the malignant behaviors of MDA-MB-231 cells such as increased cell proliferation, colony formation, adhesion, migration, and invasion, and inhibited apoptosis; whereas deactivation of this signaling pathway led to the reversal of the aforementioned malignant cellular behaviors. Furthermore, we found that activation of Notch-1 signaling pathway triggered the activation of NF-κB signaling pathway and up-regulated the expression of NF-κB target genes including MMP-2/-9, VEGF, Survivin, Bcl-xL, and Cyclin D1. These results suggest that Notch-1 signaling pathway play important roles in promoting the malignant phenotype of breast cancer, which may be mediated partly through the activation of NF-κB signaling pathway. Our results further suggest that targeting Notch-1 signaling pathway may become a newer approach to halt the progression of breast cancer.

The effects of salt-alkaline mixed stress on switchgrass were investigated by evaluating seed germination and the proline, malondialdehyde (MDA) and soluble sugar contents in three switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) cultivars in order to identify which can be successfully produced on marginal lands affected by salt-alkaline mixed stress. The experimental conditions consisted of four levels of salinity (10, 60, 110 and 160 mM) and four pH levels (7.1, 8.3, 9.5 and 10.7). The effects of salt-alkaline mixed stress with equivalent coupling of the salinity and pH level on the switchgrass were explored via model analyses. Switchgrass was capable of germinating and surviving well in all treatments under low-alkaline pH (pH≤8.3), regardless of the salinity. However, seed germination and seedling growth were sharply reduced at higher pH values in conjunction with salinity. The salinity and pH had synergetic effects on the germination percentage, germination index, plumular length and the soluble sugar and proline contents in switchgrass. However, these two factors exhibited antagonistic effects on the radicular length of switchgrass. The combined effects of salinity and pH and the interactions between them should be considered when evaluating the strength of salt-alkaline mixed stress.

Alllelopathic potential of chicory was investigated by evaluating its effect on seed germination, soluble sugar, malondialdehyde (MDA) and the chlorophyll content of three target plants species (Festuca arundinacea, Trifolium repens and Medicago sativa). The secretion of allelochemicals was regulated by keeping the donor plant (chicory) separate from the three target plant species and using different pH and nitrogen levels. Leachates from donor pots with different pH levels and nitrogen concentrations continuously irrigated the target pots containing the seedlings. The allelopathic effects of the chicory at equivalent coupling of nitrogen supply and pH level on the three target plants species were explored via models analyses. The results suggested a positive effect of nitrogen supply and pH level on allelochemical secretion from chicory plants. The nitrogen supply and pH level were located at a rectangular area defined by 149 to 168 mg/l nitrogen supply combining 4.95 to 7.0 pH value and point located at nitrogen supply 177 mg/l, pH 6.33 when they were in equivalent coupling effects; whereas the inhibitory effects of equivalent coupling nitrogen supply and pH level were located at rectangular area defined by 125 to 131 mg/l nitrogen supply combining 6.71 to 6.88 pH value and two points respectively located at nitrogen supply 180 mg/l with pH 6.38 and nitrogen supply 166 mg/l with pH 7.59. Aqueous extracts of chicory fleshy roots and leaves accompanied by treatment at different sand pH values and nitrogen concentrations influenced germination, seedling growth, soluble sugar, MDA and chlorophyll of F. arundinacea, T. repens and M. sativa. Additionally, we determined the phenolics contents of root and leaf aqueous extracts, which were 0.104% and 0.044% on average, respectively.

Switchgrass is a perennial C4 plant with great potential as a bioenergy source and, thus, a high demand for establishment from seed. This research investigated the effects of ultrasound treatment on germination and seedling growth in switchgrass. Using an orthogonal matrix design, conditions for the ultrasound pretreatment in switchgrass seed, including sonication time (factor A), sonication temperature (factor B) and ultrasound output power (factor C), were optimized for germinating and stimulating seedling growth (indicated as plumular and radicular lengths) through modeling analysis. The results indicate that sonication temperature (B) was the most effective factor for germination, whereas output power (C) had the largest effect on seedling growth when ultrasound treatment was used. Combined with the analyses of range, variance and models, the final optimal ultrasonic treatment conditions were sonication for 22.5 min at 39.7°C and at an output power of 348 W, which provided the greatest germination percentage and best seedling growth. For this study, the orthogonal matrix design was an efficient method for optimizing the conditions of ultrasound seed treatment on switchgrass. The electrical conductivity of seed leachates in three experimental groups (control, soaked in water only, and ultrasound treatment) was determined to investigate the effects of ultrasound on seeds and eliminate the effect of water in the ultrasound treatments. The results showed that the electrical conductivity of seed leachates during either ultrasound treatment or water bath treatment was significantly higher than that of the control, and that the ultrasound treatment had positive effects on switchgrass seeds.

Eco-friendly ceramic capacitors gradually become an important section of pulsed power devices. However, the synchronous realization of ultra-high energy storage density (Wrec > 6 J/cm³) and efficiency (η > 90%) is difficult. Thus, a novel multiscale amelioration strategy in Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3-based ceramics is proposed to achieve ultra-high energy storage density and efficiency. The multiscale amelioration strategy for (Na0.5Bi0.47La0.03)0.94Ba0.06TiO3 (NBLBT) ceramic focuses on grain size, bandgap width, and dielectric relaxor behavior, which can be regulated by introducing Sr(Al0.5Nb0.25Ta0.25)O3 (SANT). On the one hand, the refined grain size and increased bandgap width are conducive to improving the breakdown strength. On the other hand, the optimized dielectric relaxation behavior is beneficial to suppress the remanent polarization. Accordingly, an ultrahigh Wrec = 6.89 J/cm³ and η = 90.1% are simultaneously achieved in 0.84NBLBT- 0.16SANT ceramic. In addition, the sample synchronously possesses excellent thermal and frequency stability (a variation within 5% in Wrec and η), transient discharge rate of t0.9 ~ 78.8 ns and a high-power density of PD ~ 114.5 MW/cm³.
