Substantial evidence has shown that payment delays generate negative effects on suppliers' working capital level and thus can further affect the entire supply chain's working capital efficiency and even result in bankruptcy for capital-constrained suppliers. The adoption of emerging solutions such as supply chain finance (SCF) is considered an innovative approach to deal with this issue. However, the current literature seldom considers the impact of payment term extensions on the supply chain's working capital management (WCM) through the development of applicable SCF methods. Thus, motivated by how SCF can improve a supply chain's WCM in the presence of payment delay, we establish a multi-cycle model and identify the conditions under which extended payments will impact on the supply chain's collaborative cash to cash (CC2C) cycle and the shareholder-value added (SVA). Finally, the numerical analysis not only confirms the major findings of this paper but also provides some additional insights that can assist practitioners in mitigating the adverse effects caused by payment delays. The p38α mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) is one of the serine/threonine kinases regulating a variety of biological processes, including cell-type specification, differentiation and migration. Previous in vitro studies using pharmacological inhibitors suggested that p38 MAPK is essential for oligodendrocyte (OL) differentiation and myelination. To investigate the specific roles of p38α MAPK in OL development and myelination in vivo, we generated p38α conditional knockout (CKO) mice under the PLP and nerve/glial antigen 2 (NG2) gene promoters, as these genes are specifically expressed in OL progenitor cells (OPCs). Our data revealed that myelin synthesis was completely inhibited in OLs differentiated from primary OPC cultures derived from the NG2 Cre-p38α CKO mouse brains. Although an in vivo myelination defect was not obvious after gross examination of these mice, electron microscopic analysis showed that the ultrastructure of myelin bundles was severely impaired. Moreover, the onset of myelination in the corpus callosum was delayed in the knockout mice compared with p38α fl/fl control mice. A delay in OL differentiation in the central nervous system was observed with concomitant downregulation in the expression of OPC- and OL-specific genes such as Olig1 and Zfp488 during early postnatal development. OPC proliferation was not affected during this time. These data indicate that p38α is a positive regulator of OL differentiation and myelination. Unexpectedly, we observed an opposite effect of p38α on remyelination in the cuprizone-induced demyelination model. The p38α CKO mice exhibited better remyelination capability compared with p38α fl/fl mice following demyelination. The opposing roles of p38α in myelination and remyelination could be due to a strong anti-inflammatory effect of p38α or a dual reciprocal regulatory action of p38α on myelin formation during development and on remyelination after demyelination.

Allowing variability in flight flying time in aircraft rerouting can achieve improved flight connection opportunities, and thus higher aircraft utilization and enhanced schedule flexibility. However, similar impacts on aircraft routing are underexplored. In this study, a new operational aircraft maintenance routing problem (OAMRP) model that incorporates cruise speed control to realize the flying time variability is formulated. A graph reduction procedure is developed to reduce the excessive model size. Then, the model is solved using a novel ant colony optimization algorithm that considers node attractions in the state transition rule. Computational experiments show that the proposed model, compared with the traditional model, can generate aircraft maintenance routes with higher aircraft utilization, and thereby save aircraft. NG2 (nerve/glial antigen2)-expressing cells represent the largest population of postnatal progenitors in the central nervous system and have been classified as oligodendroglial progenitor cells, but the fate and function of these cells remain incompletely characterized. Previous studies have focused on characterizing these progenitors in the postnatal and adult subventricular zone and on analyzing the cellular and physiological properties of these cells in white and gray matter regions in the forebrain. In the present study, we examine the types of neural progeny generated by NG2 progenitors in the cerebellum by employing genetic fate mapping techniques using inducible Cre-Lox systems in vivo with two different mouse lines, the Plp-Cre-ER(T2)/Rosa26-EYFP and Olig2-Cre-ER(T2)/Rosa26-EYFP double-transgenic mice. Our data indicate that Olig2/Plp-positive NG2 cells display multipotential properties, primarily give rise to oligodendroglia but, surprisingly, also generate Bergmann glia, which are specialized glial cells in the cerebellum. The NG2+ cells also give rise to astrocytes, but not neurons. In addition, we show that glutamate signaling is involved in distinct NG2+ cell-fate/differentiation pathways and plays a role in the normal development of Bergmann glia. We also show an increase of cerebellar oligodendroglial lineage cells in response to hypoxic-ischemic injury, but the ability of NG2+ cells to give rise to Bergmann glia and astrocytes remains unchanged. Overall, our study reveals a novel Bergmann glia fate of Olig2/Plp-positive NG2 progenitors, demonstrates the differentiation of these progenitors into various functional glial cell types, and provides significant insights into the fate and function of Olig2/Plp-positive progenitor cells in health and disease.

Supply chain finance (SCF) is an innovative solution dedicated to optimising financial flows in supply chains, and has drawn tremendous attention from academia and industry. Considering the ever-evolving nature of SCF, the existing literature reviews in this field are limited due to a lack of integration of recent findings. Motivated by the limitation, we attempt to fill this gap by investigating the novel achievements that have been reported in the current literature. By conducting a systematic literature review, we selected 99 qualified papers published between 2010 and the first quarter of 2021, and then used descriptive analysis to identify the literature characteristics, followed by in-depth content analysis. We synthesised nine research dimensions in the selected SCF literature. By virtue of comprehensive analysis, we illustrated the embedded mechanisms among all participants in SCF practices, updated the SCF research framework, summarised the most dominant methods applied in current research, made two classifications of the financial service providers (FSPs) and SCF instruments, and provided five future research directions. The significance of this paper lies in providing both a novel theoretical foundation for academic researchers and a practical guide for industrial practitioners. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We have observed $23.2 \pm 6.0_{-0.9}^{+1.0}$ purely-leptonic decays of $D_s^+ -> \mu^+ \nu_\mu$ from a sample of muonic one prong decay events detected in the emulsion target of Fermilab experiment E653. Using the $D_s^+ -> \phi \mu^+ \nu_\mu$ yield measured previously in this experiment, we obtain $B(D_s^+ --> \mu^+ \nu_\mu) / B(D_s^+ --> \phi \mu^+ \nu_\mu) =0.16 \pm 0.06 \pm 0.03$. - Abstract
A mixed-valence compound Pb2Cu10O4(SeO3)4Cl has a complex structure consisting of one nonmagnetic Cu+ (S = 0) ion and four nonequivalent magnetic Cu2+ (S = 1/2) ions. It exhibits antiferromagnetic ordering at TN = 10.2 K. At a temperature below TN, a sequence of spin-flop transition at Bspin-flop = 1.3 T and 1/3 plateau formation at Bspin-flip = 4.4 K is observed in the magnetization curve M(B). The 1/3 magnetization plateau persists at least up to 53.5 T. The spin exchanges of Pb2Cu10O4(SeO3)4Cl7 evaluated by performing energy-mapping analysis based on DFT+U calculations show that the magnetic properties of Pb2Cu10O4(SeO3)4Cl7 are described by the (Cu2+)7 cluster of corner-sharing (Cu2+)4 tetrahedra, and that each (Cu2+)7 cluster has a S = 3/2 spin arrangement in the ground state. The 1/3 magnetization plateau observed for Pb2Cu10O4(SeO3)4Cl7 is explained by the field-induced flip of every second (Cu2+)7 cluster within a unit cell.

A mixed-valence compound Pb
2 Cu10 O4 (SeO3 )4 Cl7 has a complex structure consisting of one nonmagnetic Cu+ (S = 0) ion and four nonequivalent magnetic Cu2+ (S = 1/2) ions. It exhibits antiferromagnetic ordering at TN = 10.2 K. At a temperature below TN , a sequence of spin-flop transition at Bspin-flop = 1.3 T and 1/3 plateau formation at Bspin-flip = 4.4 K is observed in the magnetization curve M(B). The 1/3 magnetization plateau persists at least up to 53.5 T. The spin exchanges of Pb2 Cu10 O4 (SeO3 )4 Cl7 evaluated by performing energy-mapping analysis based on DFT+U calculations show that the magnetic properties of Pb2 Cu10 O4 (SeO3 )4 Cl7 are described by the (Cu2+ )7 cluster of corner-sharing (Cu2+ )4 tetrahedra, and that each (Cu2+ )7 cluster has a S = 3/2 spin arrangement in the ground state. The 1/3 magnetization plateau observed for Pb2 Cu10 O4 (SeO3 )4 Cl7 is explained by the field-induced flip of every second (Cu2+ )7 cluster within a unit cell. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

- Abstract
In 2008, we published the first set of guidelines for standardizing research in autophagy. Since then, this topic has received increasing attention, and many scientists have entered the field. Our knowledge base and relevant new technologies have also been expanding. Thus, it is important to formulate on a regular basis updated guidelines for monitoring autophagy in different organisms. Despite numerous reviews, there continues to be confusion regarding acceptable methods to evaluate autophagy, especially in multicellular eukaryotes. Here, we present a set of guidelines for investigators to select and interpret methods to examine autophagy and related processes, and for reviewers to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of reports that are focused on these processes. These guidelines are not meant to be a dogmatic set of rules, because the appropriateness of any assay largely depends on the question being asked and the system being used. Moreover, no individual assay is perfect for every situation, calling for the use of multiple techniques to properly monitor autophagy in each experimental setting. Finally, several core components of the autophagy machinery have been implicated in distinct autophagic processes (canonical and noncanonical autophagy), implying that genetic approaches to block autophagy should rely on targeting two or more autophagy-related genes that ideally participate in distinct steps of the pathway. Along similar lines, because multiple proteins involved in autophagy also regulate other cellular pathways including apoptosis, not all of them can be used as a specific marker for bona fide autophagic responses. Here, we critically discuss current methods of assessing autophagy and the information they can, or cannot, provide. Our ultimate goal is to encourage intellectual and technical innovation in the field.
