With the rapid growth of mobile devices, the platform of online social networks plays a prominent field for information spreading whether they are objective facts or fake news. To some degree, it can enable people to obtain more information faster and easier than before. However, the dynamical process of different information diffusion may generate different social influence. Especially, the negative information spreading may lead to economic losses or bring a serious social security threat. To explore the same information diffusion to different aspects, we propose an information propagation model SFTRD based on heterogeneous OSNs. SFTRD model not only considers the evolution of the same information, and also considers how to block the negative information spreading widely. Based on the theoretical analysis, the stability of equilibrium is performed by suitable analytical methods. The global asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium is studied by a geometric approach. The restrain strategies of spreading truth or blocking negative information are discussed by the optimal control theoretical. An optimal control method of SFTRD model is formulated, which minimizes the rumor-restraining cost within an expected time period. To validate the theoretical analysis of the proposed model, a set of numerical experiments are carried out with different parameter settings. Based on the theoretical analysis and numerical experiments, we can find that the process of information propagation is affected by various factors and we should explorer different inhibition strategies.

To find novel effective Aurora kinases inhibitors, a series of structurally interesting nitroxide labeled pyrimidines were synthesized and evaluated their anti-proliferative and Aurora kinases inhibitory activities. Among them, butyl 2-(3-((5-fluoro-2-((4-((1-oxyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)carbamoyl) phenyl) amino)pyrimidin-4-yl)amino)-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)acetate (22) possessed the most potent anti-proliferative effects against four carcinoma cell lines with IC50 values in range of 0.89–11.41 μM, and kinases inhibition against Aurora A and B with the IC50 values were 9.3 and 2.8 nM, respectively. Furthermore, compound 22 blocked the phosphorylation of Aurora A (T288), Aurora B (Thr232) and HisH3, decreased the expression of proteins TPX2, Eg5 and Bora, as well as disrupted the mitotic spindle formation in HeLa cells. Molecular docking studies indicated that compound 22 well interact with both Aurora A and B. The results showed that compound 22 is a potential anticancer agent as promising pan-Aurora kinase inhibitor.

The phytochemical study of the fruits of Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim led to the isolation of sixteen compounds, including a new compound zantharin (1) and fifteen other known compounds, which consist of ten coumarins (2–11), three alkaloids (12–14), and two phenols (15–16). Their structures were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic methods (1D and 2D NMR, HRESIMS, UV, and IR experiments) and by comparison with literature data. In this work, all the compounds were isolated from Z. bungeanum for the first time, in which, compounds 5 and 13–16 were reported for the first time from the genus Zanthoxylum and the Rutaceae family, respectively. Moreover, the chemotaxonomic significance of isolated compounds is discussed.

Deoxypodophyllotoxin (DPT), an active compound isolated from a number of herbs and used in traditional medicine, has been reported to exhibit promising anti‑tumor activity. A newly synthesized derivative, N-(1-oxyl‑4'-demethyl-4-deoxyp odophyllic)-L‑methine-4'-piperazine carbamate (LJ12) may have improved antitumor activity and fewer side effects. The present study assessed the effect of LJ12 on cell viability, apoptosis, cell cycle distribution and mitotic catastrophe in A549 human lung cancer cells in vitro. The molecular mechanisms underlying the antitumor activity of LJ12 were also examined. The results demonstrated that LJ12 reduced A549 cell viability in a time‑ and dose‑dependent manner, with a lower half maximal inhibitory concentration of ~0.1 µM, compared with another known DPT derivative, etoposide (10 µM). Flow cytometric analysis showed that LJ12 induced tumor cell arrest at the G2/M phase of the cell cycle. The present study also observed an expected concomitant decrease in the numbers of cells cells in the G0/G1 and S phases. LJ12 was found to upregulate the protein expression levels of Cdc2 and Cyclin B1. Furthermore, LJ12 induced tumor cell apoptosis and the protein expression of B cell lymphoma‑2‑associated X protein, caspase‑3 and p53. The present study also observed the formation of giant, multinucleated cells, indicating that LJ12 induced mitotic catastrophe in the tumor cells. These results indicated that LJ12 has anti‑non‑small cell lung cancer activity in vitro. Further investigations aim to develop LJ12 as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of lung cancer.

With the rapid development of mobile sensing devices and Internet technology, any user can publish, comment, or forward information through social platforms. Meanwhile, while speeding up the speed and scope of information dissemination, it is difficult to distinguish the authenticity and reliability of the information. Users’ ability to discriminate information depends on their conscious behavior and knowledge level. According to the level of user awareness, the population can be split into five different states when information is generated. In order to know the evolution trend of information over time, a novel information dissemination model in mobile social networks based on the traditional SIR model is proposed in this work, which can be called SEIRD. From the theoretical point of view, the basic reproduction number R 0 and equilibrium of the proposed model are given. We also analyze the local and global stability of the rumor-free equilibrium. Furthermore, to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, a series of numerical simulations experiments and results analysis are given. Moreover, the impacts of different parameters of the proposed model are carried out.

The Aurora kinases are a family of serine/threonine kinases that interact with components of the mitotic apparatus and serve as potential therapeutic targets in oncology. Herein, we reported a series of 2,4-bisanilinopyrimidines bearing 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-N-oxyl with selective inhibition of Aurora A in either enzymatic assays or cellular phenotypic assays, and displaying more potent anti-proliferation compared with that of VX-680. The most potent compound 10a forms better interaction with Aurora A than Aurora B in molecular docking. Mechanistic studies revealed that 10a disrupt the spindle formation, block the cell cycle progression in the G2/M phase and induce apoptosis in HeLa cell. These results suggested that the produced series of compounds are potential anticancer agents for further development as selective Aurora A inhibitors.

A new car-following model is proposed in this paper to study the interval integration effect of vehicle’s self-delayed velocity information on traffic flow. The stability condition of the new model is derived through linear analysis, and the result shows that the traffic stability can be improved when a longer interval of vehicle’s self-delayed velocity information is taken into account. Also it is revealed that the traffic information in the time interval which is far from the present time is more positive in stabilizing traffic flow comparing to the traffic information in the time interval which is close to the present time. Through nonlinear analysis, the mKdV equation is derived to describe the propagation properties of density wave in the unstable region. Finally, the theoretical results are confirmed by numerical simulation.

A series of 4β-(thiazol-2-yl)amino-4'-O-demethyl-4-deoxypodophyllotoxins were synthesized, and their cytotoxicities were evaluated against four human cancer cell lines (A549, HepG2, HeLa, and LOVO cells) and normal human diploid fibroblast line WI-38. Some of the compounds exhibited promising antitumor activity and less toxicity than the anticancer drug etoposide. Among them, compounds 15 and 17 were found to be the most potent synthetic derivatives as topo-II inhibitors, and induced DNA double-strand breaks via the p73/ATM pathway as well as the H2AX phosphorylation in A549 cells. These compounds also arrested A549 cells cycle in G2/M phase by regulating cyclinB1/cdc2(p34). Taken together, these results show that a series of compounds are potential anticancer agents.

Cyber physical systems have grown exponentially and have been attracting a lot of attention over the last few years. To retrieve and mine the useful information from massive amounts of sensor data streams with spatial, temporal, and other multidimensional information has become an active research area. Moreover, recent research has shown that clusters of streams change with a comprehensive spatial-temporal viewpoint in real applications. In this paper, we propose a spatial-temporal clustering algorithm (STClu) based on nonnegative matrix trifactorization by utilizing time-series observational data streams and geospatial relationship for clustering multiple sensor data streams. Instead of directly clustering multiple data streams periodically, STClu incorporates the spatial relationship between two sensors in proximity and integrates the historical information into consideration. Furthermore, we develop an iterative updating optimization algorithm STClu. The effectiveness and efficiency of the algorithm STClu are both demonstrated in experiments on real and synthetic data sets. The results show that the proposed STClu algorithm outperforms existing methods for clustering sensor data streams.

A series of carbamate derivatives of 4'-demethylepipodophyllotoxin have been synthesized, and their cytotoxicities against several human cancer cell lines, including HeLa, A549, HCT-8, and HL-60 cells, evaluated. Some of these compounds exhibited higher levels of cytotoxicity than the anticancer drug etoposide. 4β-4'-Demethylepipodophyllotoxin 1-(4-nitrophenyl) piperazinyl carbamate (19) was found to be the most potent compound of those synthesized in the current study, and induced cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase in HeLa cells, which was accompanied by apoptosis. Furthermore, this compound activated the expression of Bax, p53 and caspase-3 in HeLa cells, leading to changes in the conformation of calf thymus DNA from the B-form to a more compact C-form.

We found that the deoxypodophyllotoxin derivative, 2,6-dimethoxy-4-(6-oxo-(5R,5aR,6,8,8aR,9-hexahydrofuro[3′,4′:6,7]naphtho[2,3-d][1,3]dioxol-5-yl)phenyl ((R)-1-amino-4-(methylthio)-1-oxobutan-2-yl)carbamate (DPMA), exhibited superior cytotoxicity compared with etoposide. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of action of DPMA. DPMA exhibited anti-proliferative activity and induced apoptosis in A549 cells in a dose- and time-dependant manner. DPMA inhibited microtubule formation and induced expression of Bax, cleaved caspase-3, p53 and ROS, and inhibited Bcl-2 expression. DPMA also affected cyclinB1, cdc2 and p-cdc2 expression, inducing cell cycle arrest. DPMA also inhibited tube formation of VEGF-induced human umbilical vein endothelial cells. These studies demonstrate that DPMA inhibits p53/cdc2/Bax signaling, thereby inhibiting cell growth/angiogenesis and inducing apoptosis.

The k-ary n-cube has been one of the most popular interconnection networks for parallel computing. In this paper, we assume that k ⩾ 4 is an even. Under this assumption we investigate the Hamiltonian cycle of k-ary 2-cube with the set F of faulty elements (vertices and/or edges), and will prove that k-ary 2-cube is 2-fault bi-Hamiltonian.

The Aurora kinases are a family of serine/threonine kinases that interact with components of the mitotic apparatus and serve as potential therapeutic targets in oncology. Here we synthesized 15 2,4-diaminopyrimidines and evaluated their biological activities, including antiproliferation, inhibition against Aurora kinases and cell cycle effects. These compounds generally exhibited more potent cytotoxicity against tumor cell lines compared with the VX-680 control, especially compound 11c, which showed the highest cytotoxicities, with IC50 values of 0.5–4.0 μM. Compound 11c had more than 35-fold more selectivity for Aurora A over Aurora B, and molecular docking analysis indicated that compound 11c form better interaction with Aurora A both from the perspective of structure and energy. Furthermore, compound 11c induced G2/M cell cycle arrest in HeLa cells. This series of compounds has the potential for further development as selective Aurora A inhibitors for anticancer activity.

Carbamate derivatives of 4β-(1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)podophyllotoxin were synthesized by means of click chemistry, and their cytotoxicities against human cancer cell lines HL-60, A-549, HeLa, and HCT-8 were evaluated. Some compounds were more potent than the anticancer drug etoposide. 4'-O-Demethyl-4β-[(4-hydroxymethyl)-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl]-4-deoxypodophyllotoxin cyclopentyl carbamate, the most potent compound, induced cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase accompanied by apoptosis in A-549 cells. Furthermore, this compound inhibited the formation of microtubules in A-549 cells and caused the inhibition of DNA topoisomerase-II.
