The prognosis of metastatic STS is poor with a life expectancy of 12–18 months. The mainstay of treatment is chemotherapy with an anthracycline. The addition of other chemotherapeutic agents to an anthracycline has been studied with limited success in improving outcomes for STS patients. Olaratumab is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that binds to platelet-derived growth factor receptor α (PDGFR-α) preventing binding of its ligands and receptor activation. This drug recently received the US Food and Drug ­Administration’s accelerated approval for the treatment of advanced STS when combined with doxorubicin. This approval was based upon an improvement in overall survival of patients receiving the combination of doxorubicin and olaratumab compared to those receiving doxorubicin alone. In this review, we have analyzed the available literature on the development of olaratumab, its clinical utility, and its place in therapy. An integrated multidisciplinary clinic and team with a structured sarcoma tumor board facilitate team coordination and communication. This paper reviews the rationale for multidisciplinary management of sarcoma and details the operational structure of the Multidisciplinary Sarcoma Clinic and Sarcoma Tumor Board. The structured Multidisciplinary Sarcoma Tumor Board provides opportunity for improvement in logistics, teaching, quality, and enrollment in clinical trials. 6. Mycorrhiza in Improving Morpho-Physiological and Biochemical Parameters of Chickpea Genotypes (Cicer arietinumL.) Under Salinity Stress

Abstract

Soil salinity is a serious environmental threat to agricultural crops causing a significant reduction in growth and yield. Two percent of dry land and twenty percent of irrigation land in the world are affected by salt problems, which are rising continuously. Chickpea is considered sensitive to salt stress. In saline soil, plant growth and tolerance to salt have been reported to be enhanced by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF). Experiments were designed to study the effect of mycorrhiza on three desi varieties of chickpea (HC‑3, CSG-8962, and C‑235) under various levels of salinity stress. The genotypes were subjected to three increasing levels of salinity (2 dSm−1, 3 dSm−1, and 4 dSm−1) and compared with or without mycorrhizal inoculation. Significant genotypic variations were observed in salt tolerance. Morpho-physiological parameters studied were root-shoot length, dry weight of root and shoot, and the number of nodules per plant. Biochemical parameters included proline, glycine betaine (GB), flavonoids, chlorophyll, anthocyanin content and nitrogen balance index (NBI). Salinity had a negative impact on each parameter. C‑235 was found to be more sensitive than HC‑3 and CSG-8962. However, colonization with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi—Rhizophagus fasciculatus(formerly called Glomus fasciculatum) enhanced all the parameters and was found to have a salinity-mitigating effect.

12. The Evaluation of the Victorian Women in Construction Strategy Program

Abstract

This research led report evaluated the Victorian Government Women in Construction Strategy. Qualitative and quantitative research approaches were deemed appropriate; however, the evaluation adopted a primarily qualitative approach due to the context and timing. Data collection used specific protocols and included key informant interviews, participant interviews, observations, surveys and focus groups, with interviews and focus groups transcribed verbatim. Participants included female school students, careers teachers, female trainees, and industry representatives. Data analysis was conducted at both the individual and cohort level, with qualitative and quantitative data analysed separately and, where appropriate, brought together to produce themes. The evaluation found that "The Women in Construction" Strategy achieved its goals. While the original scope of work was affected by the COVID‐19 situation, modifications were made, and the intended parties received the various pilot programs well. The programs enacted as a part of this strategy have been beneficial in increasing the knowledge of young women looking to enter careers in the construction industry, supporting those in the industry or encouraging cultural change in the workplaces women inhabit. Therefore, their continuation is supported so that longer‐term effects can transpire.

Abstract

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been spread all over the world. There are more than 43.14 million COVID-19 confirmed cases and over 1.15 million deaths reported worldwide till October 26, 2020. As the proper treatment/vaccine is not available, most of the countries are relying on various preventive measures to check the spread of epidemic. The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of corona preventive measures on the spread of COVID-19 by employing a novel epidemic model. Moreover, time series and bifurcation analysis techniques have been used to estimate this impact. To prove the validity of our model, we apply our model on highly affected countries such as China, Italy, USA, UK and India. Our findings might be very useful tool for decision holders and policy makers to take the right decisions in a timely way to control the outbreak of COVID-19, knowing the uncertainties about the coronovirus disease. Abstract

Aldroubi introduced two methods for generating frames of a Hilbert space H. In one of his method, one approach is to construct frames for H which are images of a given frame for H under T ∈ B (H, H), a collection of all bounded linear operator on H. The other method uses bounded linear operator on ` 2 to generate frames of H. In this paper, we discuss construction of the retro Banach frames in Hilbert spaces which are images of given frames under bounded linear operators on Hilbert spaces. It is proved that the compact operators generated by a certain type of a retro Banach frame can construct a retro Banach frame for the underlying space. Finally, we discuss a linear block associated with a Schauder frame in Banach spaces. Publisher's Version

Abstract

In this article, we set up a new nonlinear dynamical system which is derived by combining logistic map and sine square map in Mann orbit (a two step feedback process) for ameliorating the stability performance of chaotic system and name it Standard Logistic Sine Square Map (SLSSM). The purpose of this paper is to study the whole dynamical behavior of the proposed map (SLSSM) through various introduced aspects consisting fixed point and stability analysis, time series representation, bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponent. Moreover, we show that our map is significantly superior than existing other one dimensional maps. We investigate that the chaotic and complex behavior of SLSSM can be controlled by selecting control parameters carefully. Also, the range of convergence and stability can be made to increase drastically. This new system (SLSSM) might be used to achieve better results in cryptography and to study chaos synchronization.

Abstract

This paper highlights the need for proper design calculations for estimating the design shear forces in RC beams for earthquake-resistant design and ductile detailing as per IS 13920: 1993. In practice, this is not commonly done due to difficulties in calculating the ultimate moment capacity of doubly reinforced sections having arbitrary combinations of areas of compression and tension steel. To facilitate such computation, design aids are presented, and their use is demonstrated by means of an illustrative example.
