Abstract

Low utilization of solar energy remains a challenge that limits photocatalytic efficiency. To address this issue, this work proposes a bionic solar photocatalytic reactor (BSPR) for efficient selective oxidation of aromatic alcohols. A biomimetic phototropic hydrogel is prepared by coupling chlorine‐doped polypyrrole (Cl‐PPy) and poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAm) to maximize light‐harvesting efficiency automatically, allowing the BSPR to maintain high catalytic levels throughout the day. Molecular dynamics simulations are used to unveil the understanding of the fast photoresponsive behavior of Cl‐PPy/PNIPAm from a molecular level, while COMSOL simulations are conducted to follow the macroscopically phototropic mechanism of BSPR. Attributing to the existence of PdS/S vacancies riched ZnIn2S4 nanocomposite in the top flower‐shaped hydrogel, the BSPR displays a special function for efficiently photocatalytic oxidation of aromatic alcohols under solar illumination (yield of 4‐methoxybenzaldehyde: 479.5 µmol g−1 h−1; selectivity: 68.8%). Two possible reaction pathways are identified as follows: photogenerated holes can attract aromatic alcohols directly and generate aromatic aldehydes; photoexcited electrons oxidize O2 to ·O2− can also react with the adsorbed aromatic alcohol. This study presents a promising paradigm that explores opportunities for enhanced utilization of light energy, offering a novel approach to maximize its efficiency in practical applications. Abstract

Herein, the electronic structure of RhCu nanospheres was optimized and the size of the nanoparticles was reduced by an ultrasonic-assisted hydrothermal method. The performance of electrocatalytic urea synthesis was improved with an enhanced faradaic efficiency and urea yield rate of 34.82 ± 2.47% and 26.81 ± 0.62 mmol g−1 h−1, respectively. Abstract

Scattering problem by one cylinder whose radius is comparable to incident wavelength can be solved by Mie theorem. Due to complicated multiple scattering, scattering characteristics by two adjacent cylinders cannot be easily expounded. In this paper, high-accuracy non-standard finite-difference time domain (NS-FDTD) method is utilized to simulate electromagnetic field scattered by two nano-sized circular cylinders. Scattering intensities calculated by the NS-FDTD method demonstrate distinct polarization-dependence feature which can be explained by interference analyses including first-order and second-order scattering. The interference analyses indicate that the two-cylinder scattering problem in the transverse magnetic mode can be approximately solved by one-cylinder Mie scattering solution superposed with a first-order interference term, whereas both first-order and second-order interference should be considered into the superposition term in the transverse electric mode.

Abstract

As one of the three important ADS-B data-links, 1090ES has been widely used in the surveillance field of air traffic management. Since the radio channel of 1090ES signal is the same with the response signal of airborne responder of SSR, two kinds of signals often overlap in time domain in busy airspaces. High overlapping probability results in the problem that the 1090ES signal cannot be correctly decoded. The overlapping probability should be considered in the construction solution of ADS-B ground receiver station. In order to estimate the overlapping probability, we perform Monte-Carlo simulation by assuming random arrival time for all signals in unit time. Through the analysis on the simulation results, it is found that an average incidence coefficient has a linear relationship with a duty ratio coefficient. Based on the linear relationship and classic Poission distribution, a mathematic model is built to estimate the overlapping probability.

Abstract

The electrochemical N2 reduction reaction (eNRR) is considered to be an attractive alternative to overcome the short‐comings of the Haber‐Bosch method, where the electrocatalysts play a vital role in the eNRR efficiency. Herein, isolated single‐B sites with electron deficiency in intermetallic carbide are rationally designed to trigger charge density redistribution, achieving excellent selectivity for eNRR. The B‐rich VC nanocrystals are in situ synthesized on carbon nanofibers (B‐VC/CNFs), and the ordered intermetallic structure of VC can isolate contiguous B atoms into single‐B sites with specific electronic structures. In light of density functional theory calculations, the as‐designed BCV configuration can regulate the adsorption behavior of N2 and decrease the energy barrier for the proton–electron coupling and transferring process (*NN → *NNH), endowing the distinguished activity and selectivity, as evidenced by excellent Faradaic efficiency of 46.1% and NH3 yield of 0.443 µmol h–1 cm–2. The operando Raman spectra reveals the formation of NH intermediates on the surfaces of B‐VC/CNFs, further confirming the calculated eNRR pathway. This intermetallic carbide host strategy for generating electron‐deficient single‐B sites offers powerful guidelines for designing advanced eNRR electrocatalysts to achieve effective ammonia production. 42. Tailoring the d-Band Center of Double-Perovskite LaCoxNi1–xO3Nanorods for High Activity in Artificial N2Fixation

Abstract

The d-band center of a catalyst can be applied for the prediction of its catalytic activity, but the application of d-band theory for the electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) has rarely been studied in perovskite materials. In this work, a series of double-perovskite LaCoxNi1–xO3(LCNO) nanorods (NRs) were synthesized as models, where the d-band centers can be modulated by changing the stoichiometric ratios between Co and Ni elements. Experimentally, the LCNO-III NRs (x= 0.5) attained the highest faradic efficiency and NH3yield rate among various LCNO NRs. This result matches well with the finding from theoretical calculations that LCNO-III has the most positive d-band center (εd= −0.96 eV vs Fermi level), thus confirming that LCNO-III shows the strongest adsorption ability for N2molecules (adsorption energy value of −2.01 eV) for the subsequent N2activation and reduction reactions. Therefore, this work proposes a general rule to adopt for developing novel catalysts (especially perovskite-based catalysts) for substantially increasing the eNRR activity by modulating the corresponding d-band centers.

RF reader mainly consists of transponder and reader. Coding on the transponder based on AT89C2051 can be realized. Coded signals are modulated through resistance attached coupling LC circuit. Decoding and displaying can be completed using SCM on reader. Carrier signals at 125KHz produced by oscillator and frequency divider composed of CD4060 are emitted by a push-pull circuit consisted of transistor. The design has a novel thinking in the advantage of small volume, low cost, low power dissipation, high reliability and self-test function.
