In this Tutorial Review, key milestones in the development of 2-[18F]-FDG and related glycan-based radiotracers for PET are described.

The objective of this scoping review is to identify barriers and facilitators related to cancer clinical trial enrollment and participation among rural populations.Advancing the effectiveness of cancer treatment and increasing early detection of cancer relies on enrollment and participation of individuals in cancer clinical trials. Lack of enrollment and participation in trials is a concern, and there is evidence that individuals living in rural areas are unlikely to participate in such trials. Information on barriers to, and facilitators of, enrollment and participation in cancer clinical trials is needed for the development of evidence-based interventions to increase the enrollment and participation of rural populations.The review will consider studies on adults aged 18 years or older living in rural areas. Studies that report on barriers and facilitators to enrollment and participation in cancer clinical trials, including both cancer therapeutic and cancer early detection trials, will be included in the review. The review will consider quantitative, qualitative, and text and opinion papers for inclusion.The search strategy will aim to locate published primary studies, reviews, and opinion papers, the latter including those by professional oncology organizations. The databases to be searched include MEDLINE, CINAHL, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library. Gray literature databases will also be searched. Two independent reviewers will retrieve full-text studies and extract data. The results will be presented in diagrammatic format with a narrative summary.

School counselors and principals are in natural leadership positions that provide opportunities to influence systemic change. Given these educators’ great responsibility of supporting the academic, social/emotional, and college and career development of all students, aligning their efforts toward impacting student outcomes is wise. Current literature has identified barriers and benefits of school counselor–principal collaboration. However, a more thorough understanding of the process for developing and analyzing productive partnerships would prove beneficial to school counselors and principals. This article presents a framework for describing the process and outputs of school counselor–principal collaboration, with discussion of implications for further development and use of the framework.

Christina Jordan's contribution discusses the forms and functions of popular cultural aspects of British royal events in the 21st century regarding their significance for modernizing the contemporary monarchy's public image. The case study focuses on the pop and rock concerts performed on the occasion of Elizabeth II's Golden and Diamond Jubilee (2002 and 2012). A special emphasis is put on questions concerning the choice of music and artists, the utilization of architectural landmarks such as Buckingham Palace for the staging of the concerts, and the particular roles different members of the royal family embody next to the celebrities performing on stage. It is shown how these events work as a vital way to renegotiate and update the monarchy's public image by adding new dimensions to their cultural work in the 21st century. The article argues that the conscious incorporation of popular cultural aspects in large-scale royal celebrations constitute a new generation of »invented royal traditions.«

Background OX40 (CD134) plays a role in the maintenance of late T-cell proliferation and survival. KHK4083 is a monoclonal antibody directed against OX40. We aimed to assess the safety and preliminary efficacy of KHK4083 in patients with moderately active ulcerative colitis (UC). Methods In this multicenter, double-blind, parallel-group, phase 2 study, patients with moderately active UC patients were randomized to ascending doses of intravenous KHK4083 (1, 3, or 10 mg/kg) or placebo every 2 weeks for 12 weeks. The primary endpoint was safety. The primary efficacy end point was the change from baseline in mean modified Mayo endoscopy subscore at week 12. Treatment with KHK4083 or placebo was continued every 4 weeks for up to 52 weeks in responders. Results Long-term treatment with KHK4083 was well tolerated, with treatment-related adverse events being predominantly transient mild-to-moderate infusion-related reactions. Exploratory analysis of biopsy samples showed the virtually complete elimination of OX40+ cells in colon mucosa after 12 weeks of KHK4083 treatment. There were no significant differences between any of the randomized KHK4083 dose groups and placebo for the mean change in Mayo endoscopy subscore from baseline to week 12. Conclusions KHK4083 can be safely administered intravenously at doses up to 10 mg/kg every 2 or 4 weeks for up to 52 weeks. Proof of pharmacodynamic action was confirmed by depletion of the elevated levels of the OX40+ cells associated with UC at all tested doses. Clinical response and mucosal healing (endoscopic improvement) in this population was not correlated with ablation of OX40+ T cells.

Introduction: Compared to other racial and ethnic groups, African Americans experience greater negative psychosocial factors (depression, stress), which are related to increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Little research has examined the association of positive psychosocial factors (optimism) with cardiovascular health in this population. Using the Jackson Heart Study (JHS) data, we examined the association of optimism with the American Heart Association Life’s Simple 7 TM (LS7), a measure of seven metrics that assesses a person’s cardiovascular health. Hypothesis: Higher levels of optimism are positively associated with individual LS7 metrics, and positively associated with the total LS7 score. Methods: We evaluated cross-sectional associations of optimism with each LS7 metric [cigarette smoking, physical activity, diet, body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose] and with a composite LS7 score among 4,761 participants, 21-95 years old (women=3,070; men=1,691) enrolled in the JHS, a single-site, community-based cohort of African Americans residing in Jackson, MS. Optimism was measured in tertiles (low, moderate, high) to examine threshold effects. Each LS7 metric was classified as poor, intermediate, and ideal. LS7 metrics were also summed to create a total continuous score (0-13) categorized in tertiles (low, moderate, high). Multinomial logistic regression estimated the odds ratios (OR, 95% confidence interval-CI) of intermediate (vs. poor) and ideal (vs. poor) LS7 metric by levels of optimism. Multinomial regression also estimated the odds of moderate (vs. low) or high (vs. low) total LS7 score by optimism. Models adjusted for demographics, SES, and depressive symptoms. Results: Descriptive findings showed that participants who reported high optimism had ideal physical activity, nutrition, smoking, blood pressure, glucose and high total LS7 score (all p Conclusion: Optimism is associated with ideal physical activity and ideal smoking, which is important for promoting cardiovascular health and reducing the risk of CVD among African Americans in this sample.
