This study investigates the impact of Information Technology and employee engagement on the implementation of Knowledge Management within the Research and Development processes of pharmaceutical companies. Based on Dynamic Capabilities Theory, this research examines the interaction between these factors in facilitating Knowledge Management practices. The findings indicate that while both Information Technology and employee engagement significantly enhance Knowledge Management implementation, the latter has a more pronounced effect. Engaged employees are crucial for identifying opportunities and driving strategic initiatives, whereas Information Technology supports information processing and decision making. This study highlights the complex interaction between technology and human creativity, demonstrating that the future of Knowledge Management in Research and Development relies not only on advanced systems but also on the active and committed individuals who utilize them. This study investigates the critical role of information systems and digital transformation in advancing sustainable supply chain management. Companies are increasingly adopting sustainable policies to protect the environment, enhance societal wellbeing, and drive economic development. By digitalizing their processes, they achieve significant operational improvements and boost business performance. Information systems are now integral to supply chains, supporting diverse processes and facilitating excellence in digital transformation and sustainable development. However, research in this area has been limited, focusing primarily on the environmental pillar. This study aims to explore the relationship between supply chain digitalization and the adoption of comprehensive sustainability practices. The research employs a qualitative methodology, including a comparative case study analysis of a modern 3PL company, a retailer, and a producer of construction materials. The findings reveal that the strategic integration of digital transformation and sustainable policies within organizational contexts is vital for enhancing business performance and achieving operational excellence. Effective use of information systems and resources enables companies to amplify their economic, social, and environmental impact, fostering an environmentally friendly image, strengthening societal relationships, and increasing market share. This study underscores the importance of a holistic approach to sustainability, driven by information systems and Industry 4.0 technologies, positioning companies as leaders in sustainable supply chain management. This study examines the adoption of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) as strategic tools for decarbonization in the oil and gas sector. Focusing on the 21 largest oil and gas companies across Europe, North America, and South America, the analysis reveals varied adoption rates and strategic emphases between regions. European companies exhibit robust integration of PPAs and RECs to expand renewable energy capacities and reduce emissions, aligning closely with aggressive EU climate policies. In contrast, American companies show a cautious approach, focusing more on emission reduction from existing operations than on renewable expansions. The study's findings indicate that, while both regions are advancing in their decarbonization efforts, European companies are leading with more defined renewable energy targets and comprehensive low-carbon strategies. This research contributes to understanding how different regulatory environments and market conditions influence corporate strategies towards sustainable energy transitions in traditionally hard-to-abate industries. In recent years, sustainability initiatives and the prominence of renewables have emerged as pivotal priorities in addressing environmental, ecological, and socioeconomic challenges. Within this context, green certificates—representing proof of electricity generation from renewable sources—have gained substantial recognition, enabling organizations to demonstrate their commitment to clean energy. This study employs a bibliometric analysis to chart the evolution and current state of green certificates research. Drawing from the Scopus database, we sourced bibliographic data, resulting in a refined dataset of 940 documents spanning from 2000 to 2022. Through performance analysis, we systematically evaluated the landscape of green certificates research, assessing publication trends, identifying influential works, spotlighting prolific authors, highlighting leading academic institutions, mapping regional research hotspots, and pinpointing the top publishing journals in the domain. Employing science mapping techniques—such as co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrence analysis, and bibliographic coupling—we delineated the collaborative patterns and the conceptual and intellectual structure of the field. This was further augmented by content analysis, revealing four salient research themes, emphasizing the consistent and central focus on support mechanisms and policies for renewable energy sources, sustainable renewable technologies and market dynamics, technological innovations and green certificate trading, and renewable energy sources investment strategies. Building on these findings, the paper concludes by outlining practical implications and prospective research avenues. These encompass a detailed understanding of renewable energy support mechanisms, the pivotal role of electricity disclosure in enhancing transparency, and the transformative potential of emergent technologies, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, in the green certificate trading landscape. The research also emphasizes the fundamental role of guarantees of origin in advancing sustainability goals, the dynamic discourse on green hydrogen certification standards, and the intricate dynamics of trading mechanisms in shaping investment strategies. In contemporary academia and industry, the commercialization of technology through licensing has emerged as a prevalent strategy. This paradigmatic shift has prompted numerous industrial firms to intensify their focus on technology commercialization as a mechanism to optimize the returns on their research and development investments, while concurrently leveraging their comprehensive technology portfolios. However, despite growing interest in this area, there exists a conspicuous gap in scholarly literature exploring how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can effectively and efficiently capitalize on this opportunity in a global context. The objective of the present study is to fill this void by offering an in-depth analysis of the key determinants that contribute to the successful commercialization of technology via licensing. Employing a qualitative research methodology, this paper presents a comparative case study that explores four separate international licensing alliances, each formed between the same licensor, specializing in solar mounting system engineering, and four different licensees, all engaged in the production and marketing of this specialized technology. Data were meticulously gathered through a triangulated approach that incorporated interviews with both licensor and licensees, extensive desk research, and on-site observations. Our empirical findings reveal that the critical success factors identified in existing literature are not uniformly significant. Specifically, four elements—relational dynamics, cultural considerations, human capital, and resource allocation—emerged as pivotal in ensuring the successful implementation of technology commercialization strategies. By elucidating these nuanced factors, this study contributes to both academic discourse and practical applications, thereby serving as a valuable resource for SMEs aiming to navigate the complexities of technology commercialization in international settings. Employee engagement is one of the seven core quality management principles upon which the ISO 9001 standard is based. This study aims to identify the key antecedents and consequences of employee engagement and further explore the mediating effect of employee engagement on the relationship between its antecedents and consequences. To attain this goal, a questionnaire survey was conducted, addressed to a sample of 132 employees drawn from ISO 9001 certified organizations operating in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector. Data were analyzed using stepwise multiple regressions so as to estimate the antecedents of engagement while the relationship between engagement and certain key consequences like "job satisfaction", "organizational commitment" and "intention to quit" was estimated using single regressions. Finally, the mediating effect of engagement on the relationship between its antecedents and consequences was tested using multiple hierarchical regressions. The findings of this paper revealed that both "job characteristics" and "perceived organizational support" predict employee engagement. Moreover, employee engagement partially mediates the relationship between the two aforementioned antecedents and the key consequences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The primary contributors to asset management literature stem largely from governmental organizations and industry practitioners. Their contribution takes the form of guidelines and reports on best practices, resulting in a variety of asset management frameworks, based on experience or specific personal understanding. Some of these frameworks have been officially formulated into standards such as the PAS 55 in the UK, the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM) in Australia and New Zealand, and more recently the ISO 55000 suite. The purpose of this paper is to present a critical overview of the asset management discipline and the established asset management systems, thus outlining for the first time the contemporary landscape in the field. It is shown that the recent publication of the ISO 55000 suite has fundamentally altered the asset management systems landscape. Specifically, this has profoundly affected the PAS 55 which will not be further reviewed after the publication of ISO 55000, and the IIMM which has already issued a 2015 version and a guideline for adjustment to the new ISO 55000 requirements. Further, it can be estimated that with the introduction of ISO 55000 a new era of professional advancement in the field has emerged, similar to the quality movement in the 1990's.
