Abstract

The intrinsic flexibility of probabilistic metric spaces makes it possible to extend the idea of contraction mapping in several inequivalent ways, one of which being the C-contraction. Cyclic contractions are another type of contractions used extensively in global optimization problems. We introduced here p-cyclic contractions which are probabilistic C-contraction types. It involves p numbers of subsets of the spaces and involves two control functions for its definitions. We show that such contractions have fixed points in a complete probabilistic metric space. The main result is supported with an example and extends several existing results.

Abstract

In this paper, a metric on $S_b$-metric space analogous to the Hausdorff metric has been introduced and some basic properties are obtained on multi-valued $S_b$-metric space. Further, the fundamental multi-valued contraction of Nadler(1962) has been extended to the $S_b$-metric space setting, and two results have been established. The entire study is supported by suitable examples.

Abstract

In this paper, we adopt a fixed point approach towards a problem of finding fuzzy distance between two subsets of a fuzzy metric space. This is accomplished simultaneously by determining two different pairs of points which are obtained by finding an optimal approximate solution of a coupled fixed point equation for an appropriate coupled contractive operator. By its nature, the problem is a global optimization problem. The coupled contraction defined here has certain properties suitable for applications to the optimization problem considered in this paper. The main result is illustrated with an example. By applications of the main theorem, a new coupled fixed point result is derived in fuzzy metric space and a new coupled proximity point result is obtained in metric spaces. This work is a continuation of a newly emerged line of research on global optimization in the context of fuzzy metric spaces. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Background: Livestock productivity and health are adversely affected by heat stress (HS). The aim of this study was to determine the effects of HS on the thermoregulation and hormonal profile in Assam Hill Goats reared in the subtropical hilly regions of Meghalaya so as to arrive at a conclusion on its heat adaptation abilities. Methods: An experiment was conducted during the year 2022 for 120 days with twelve (12) Assam Hill Goats, aged between 3-5 months, randomly divided into 2 groups (n= 6 per group). The goats in group I were exposed to HS through natural exposure to sunlight during the extreme summer months (May to August) for 07 hours (8 AM to 3 PM) during grazing. The control animals (CON, group II) were maintained under shade with no exposure to sunlight. Thermoregulatory responses viz., rectal temperature, respiratory rate and pulse rate and body weight data were recorded every 15 days interval of the sampling period. The hormonal profile viz., serum T3 (nmol/L), T4 (nmol/L) and Cortisol (ng/mL) were also determined. Result: Results revealed a significant (p<0.05) increase in rectal temperature, pulse rate (day 45 onwards to day 120) and respiratory rate in HS group in comparison to CON. A significantly (p<0.05) lower average daily gain was recorded in HS group. Serum T3 and T4 concentrations were significantly (p<0.05) reduced and cortisol concentration was significantly (p<0.05) elevated in HS group in comparison to CON. In conclusion, Assam Hill Goats exposed to environmental HS shows elevated thermoregulatory responses, decreased thyroid hormone activity and increased cortisol activity to reduce production to support life sustaining activities in the hilly regions. Abstract

In this work, the phenomenon of formation of localised electrostatic waves (ESW) or soliton is considered in a warm magnetoplasma with the possibility of non-thermal electron distribution. The parameter regime considered here is relevant in case of magnetospheric plasmas. We show that deviation from a usual relaxed Maxwellian distribution of the electron population has a significant bearing in the allowed parameter regime, where these ESWs can be found. Abstract

We analyze a possibility of using the two qubit output state from Buzek-Hillery quantum copying machine (not necessarily universal quantum cloning machine) as a teleportation channel. We show that there is a range of values of the machine parameter $\xi$ for which the two qubit output state is entangled and violates Bell-CHSH inequality and for a different range it remains entangled but does not violate Bell-CHSH inequality. Further we observe that for certain values of the machine parameter the two-qubit mixed state can be used as a teleportation channel. Abstract

In this work, we introduce a special kind of quantum cloning machine called Hybrid quantum cloning machine. The introduced Hybrid quantum cloning machine or transformation is nothing but a combination of pre-existing quantum cloning transformations. In this sense it creates its own identity in the field of quantum cloners. Hybrid quantum cloning machine can be of two types: (i) State dependent and (ii) State independent or Universal. We study here the above two types of Hybrid quantum cloning machines. Later we will show that the state dependent hybrid quantum-cloning machine can be applied on only four input states. We will also find in this paper another asymmetric universal quantum cloning machine constructed from the combination of optimal universal B-H quantum cloning machine and universal anti-cloning machine. 49. Two Party Non-Local Games

In this work we have introduced two party games with respective winning conditions. One cannot win these games deterministically in the classical world if they are not allowed to communicate at any stage of the game. Interestingly we find out that in quantum world, these winning conditions can be achieved if the players share an entangled state.
