5. Analysis of degree characteristics in airport networks

Abstract

Flight operation data provides a record of air traffic behaviour in detail, and has become an important resource for studying air traffic patterns. In this paper, the degree characteristic of air traffic networks is studied using flight operation data in order to explain air traffic behaviour. The degree indexes were founded from the perspective of network structure and network function based on complex network theory and traffic flow theory. The connectivity degree, traffic degree and delay degree were established, and the characteristics of these three degrees were studied based on American flight data from different days in 2015 over different time periods of each day. Research shows that at all scales the number degrees, volume degrees and duration degrees are all of power-law distribution, and the power exponents are different depending on the scale, date and index. The power exponents fluctuate from 0.5 to 1.5. In general, the connectivity degree exponent is greater than that of the traffic degree and the delay degree. The duration degree exponent is greater than the traffic degree. The exponents are greater on holidays than they are on non-holidays, as well as during non-working hours than during working hours of the day. Compared with non-holidays, the average connectivity degree and delay degree are larger on holidays, and the average traffic degree is smaller. This reveals that most airports only provide flights to one airport, and the airports’ numbers and flight volumes both decrease on holidays. The power indexes of the delay degree and traffic degree are basically the same. The main mode of traffic (arrivals or departures) during each time period is also studied.

10. A Robust and High-Capacity Coverless Information Hiding Based on Combination Theory.

Abstract

Many confidential multimedia, such as personal privacy, commercial, and military secrets, are transmitted on the Internet. To prevent this confidential multimedia from being eavesdropped on by illegal users, information-hiding technology is a leading research topic nowadays. One of the important research topics of information-hiding technology is coverless information hiding, which utilizes the unchanged property of its multimedia carrier to hide secret information. In this paper, we propose two schemes that employ the average pixel value of an image. The first is an extension of the Coverless Information Hiding Based on the Most Significant Bit (CIHMSB) scheme, referred to as E-CIHMSB. In the E-CIHMSB, we build an extended matrix containing the image fragment's average pixel value. The second scheme is a combination theory-based CIHMSB, referred to as CB-CIHMSB. In the CB-CIHMSB, we construct the combined matrix. E-CIHMSB and CB-CIHMSB embed the secret bits by changing the most significant bits of the chosen pixel in the matrix. Experimental results show that our schemes achieved higher hiding capacity than previous related schemes. Moreover, the proposed scheme is more robust against steganalysis tools and image quality attacks such as Additive Gaussian White Noise (AWGN), Salt & Pepper noise, low-pass filtering attacks, and JPEG compression attacks than CIHMSB. Abstract

The rapid development of digital multimedia has resulted in a massive storm of large-scale data. The data compression method reduces data size and lowers transmission costs. As a result, data-hiding research in the compression domain poses significant challenges to researchers. This work proposes a highly imperceptible data-hiding scheme for a compressed absolute moment block truncation coding (AMBTC) image. The proposed method addresses the shortcomings of the current block-based AMBTC data-hiding scheme, with an incredibly complex block as non-embedding. This is because embedding in complex blocks causes substantial distortions in the image, resulting in low imperceptibility performance. Combination theory was implemented to ensure the high imperceptibility of the modified compressed images. The experimental findings proved that the proposed method achieved high imperceptibility and high hiding capacity by modifying one pixel in a block to embed confidential bits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The molecular structure and biochemical properties of the extracellular lipase of Aeromonas hydrophila were analyzed by constructing a cloned gene, lip, in Escherichia coli JA221 strain. Analysis of the biochemical characteristics of lip indicated the presence of a lip gene product that was encoded by an open reading frame (ORF) of 2253 bp. The ORF coded for a protein of 751 amino acids corresponding to 79.9 kDa polypeptide.

Nowadays, social network within sentiment analysis has become the main trend in text mining domain. There are many platforms have been analyzed, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and so on. In our manuscript, we attempt to extract the information about the sentiment polarity of messages (positive, neutral or negative) in a social platform “Dcard”. The users of Dcard are Taiwanese college students, and anonymous post is being used this in social platform, therefore, the user can express their opinion more freedom. We use Dcard to the sentiment polarity of messages in extract the information about the school; moreover, the school could get the feedback from this finding to improve their policy. In this paper, we used python to scrap the web page, and the sentiment lexicon would be built.

46. Halogenated Sesquiterpenoids from the Red Alga Laurencia tristichaCollected in Taiwan

Abstract

Chemical investigation of the red alga Laurencia tristichaled to the discovery of eight new halogenated chamigrane-type sesquiterpenoids (1–8) and one new bromocuparane-type sesquiterpene (9), along with nine known related metabolites (10–18). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses, and the absolute configurations of 1–8were proposed by comparison to the biosynthetically related known compound 12. Cytotoxicity, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory activities of these isolates were also investigated. The results showed that compound 11exhibited good antibacterial activity against Serratia marcescenscompared to the positive control ampicillin at a dosage of 100 μg/disk. Compound 17showed strong inhibition toward elastase release generation at 10 μM.

Abstract

Chemical investigation of the octocoral Sarcophyton ehrenbergi, collected at the Dongsha Islands, Taiwan, has led to the isolation of a known ceramide (1) and two new cerebrosides, sarcoehrenosides A (2) and B (4), along with three known cerebrosides (3, 5, and 6). The structures of the new compounds were established by spectroscopic and chemical methods. Sarcoehrenoside A (2) differs from previously known marine cerebrosides in that it possesses a rare α-glucose moiety. Compounds 1−6were evaluated for antimicrobial activity against a small panel of bacteria and for anti-inflammatory activity using RAW 264.7 macrophages.

Abstract

1. 1. During the same culture period, Oreochromis niloticus raised in sea-water grew almost 60% slower than that raised in fresh water. 2. 2. Blood osmolarity of the sea-water specimen was 380–390 mOsm and that of the fresh water specimen was 280–300 mOsm. 3. 3. The potency of proteases from sea-water specimens were similar to those from fresh water specimens when assayed in high salt medium (30%. NaCl). However, it was decreased significantly when assayed in normal Tris-buffer medium. 4. 4. The activity of the enzymes from fresh water specimens did not change significantly in a salinity range from less than 0.1 %. to as high as 200%. 5. 5. Analysis of function-staining electrophoresis indicated that even though the potency of the digestive proteases was not decreased, the composition of the enzymes had changed by the presence of three more isozymes. 6. 6. This also suggested that when monitoring enzyme systems of marine organisms with respect to osmolarity, the assay system should not be directly adapted from that of mammalian system but should be adjusted according to the physiological conditions of the organism.

A new polybrominated indole, 4,5,6-tribromo-2-methylsulfinylindole (1), and eleven known metabolites 2–12were isolated from the acetone extract of the red alga Laurencia brongniartii. Structure of the new compound 1was elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR experiments. Cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial activities of these sulfur-containing polybromoindoles were evaluated.
