Background. The outbreak of the disease, caused by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, began in mid-December 2019 in China. The infection quickly spread around the world and became a global pandemic, causing “the greatest quarantine in human history”. Nevertheless, the pandemic continues, and in some countries, there are repeated waves of rising incidence. Less than 12 months after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, several research groups accepted the challenge and developed vaccines that protect against SARS-CoV-2. The purpose was to compare the main vaccines against COVID-19. Materials and methods. Existing instructions for vaccines, intermediate results of vaccine efficacy studies, as well as recommendations of the WHO, EMA, CDC and others were used. A comparative analysis of existing data on COVID-19 vaccines was performed. Results. A comparative description of the composition of vaccines and their mechanism of action, storage temperature, indications and contraindications to vaccination, vaccination regimens and methods of vaccination, vaccination efficacy, side effects, prevention in contact persons and in patients who have become ill has been made. Conclusions. The identified features of the composition of vaccines and their usage can be used in immunoprophylaxis against COVID-19., Вступ. Спалах хвороби, викликаний новим коронавірусом SARS-CoV-2, розпочався в середині грудня 2019 року в Китаї. Ця інфекція швидко поширилася по всьому світу і перетворилася на глобальну пандемію, спричинивши «найбільший карантин в історії людства». Незважаючи на це, пандемія триває, а в деяких країнах реєструються повторні хвилі підйому захворюваності. Менше ніж через 12 місяців після початку пандемії COVID-19 кілька дослідницьких груп прийняли виклик і розробили вакцини, що захищають від SARS-CoV-2. Мета: провести порівняння основних вакцин проти COVID-19. Матеріали та методи. Використовувались існуючі інструкції до вакцин, проміжні результати досліджень ефективності вакцин, а також рекомендації Всесвітньої організації охорони здоров’я, Європейського агентства з лікарських засобів, Американського центру з контролю та профілактики захворювань та ін. Проводився порівняльний аналіз існуючих даних про вакцини проти COVID-19. Результати. Наведена порівняльна характеристика щодо складу вакцин та механізму їх дії, температурного режиму зберігання, показань та протипоказань до вакцинації, схем вакцинації та способів введення вакцин, ефективності вакцинації, побічної дії, профілактики у контактних осіб та в осіб, які перехворіли. Висновки. Виявлені особливості складу вакцин та їх застосування можуть бути використані при проведенні імунопрофілактики проти COVID-19.

Background: The first dermatology-specific proxy health-related quality of life (HRQoL) instrument for children 0–4 years old with skin diseases, the Infants and Toddlers Dermatology Quality of Life (InToDermQoL), was recently developed. In order to avoid the problem of cross-cultural inequivalence focus groups work and pilot tests were organized simultaneously in all national centres of the project. The InToDermQoL showed good comprehensibility, clarity and acceptance. Objective: To validate the InToDermQoL questionnaire during international field tests. Methods: Internal consistency, test–retest reliability, convergent and discriminant validity of the InToDermQoL questionnaire were checked during international field tests. Results: Parents of 473 children with skin diseases filled in the national language versions of the InToDermQoL questionnaire. All three age-specific versions of the InToDermQoL questionnaire with 10, 12 and 15 items, respectively, showed high internal consistency (Cronbach's α 0.90–0.93), good test–retest reliability (correlation coefficients > 0.9), significant correlations with the most widely used atopic dermatitis-specific proxy instrument, the Infants Dermatitis Quality of Life Index (correlation coefficients 0.68–0.79). Background: Until now, there was no validated dermatology-specific health-related quality of life (HRQoL) instrument to be used in youngest patients. Objective: To create dermatology-specific proxy instrument for HRQoL assessment in children from birth to 4 years. Methods: International focus groups, item selection and pilot tests were utilized. In order to avoid the problem of cross-cultural inequivalence, focus group work and pilot tests were planned simultaneously in all national centres of the project. Comprehensibility, clarity, acceptance and internal consistency of new instrument were checked. Results: The title ‘Infants and Toddlers Dermatology Quality of Life’ was chosen for our new instrument with the proposed acronym ‘InToDermQoL’. Focus group work was completed in seven national centres (Croatia, Germany, Greece, Malta, Poland, Romania and Ukraine). A total of 170 families of children with different skin diseases were interviewed, and a pilot version of the instrument was created. Centres from France, Denmark and Spain have joined the project at this stage. Parents of 125 children with skin diseases filled in the pilot versions of the instrument. Good comprehensibility, clarity, acceptance and internal consistency of the InToDermQoL were confirmed. The pilot test results showed that the InToDermQoL questionnaire well differentiates severity-dependent differences. It was also checked and confirmed during the pilot test that no significant information was missed in the questionnaire. Three age-specific versions of the InToDermQoL questionnaire with 10, 12 and 15 items, respectively, were approved for field tests. Conclusion: The pilot test results showed that the InToDermQoL questionnaire has good comprehensibility, clarity, acceptance and internal consistency and well differentiates severity-dependent differences. In 40 children with various types of primary immunodeficiencies (PID) of antibody formation we examined factors of local immunity in saliva. It is found that in the saliva of children with PID of antibody formation in comparison with immunocompetent children the concentration of factors of adaptive immunity is significantly reduced. Lack of adaptive immunity in the PID of antibody formation to some extent is compensated by increased concentrations of innate immune factors on the mucous membranes — the free Sc, as well as lactoferrin in selective immunodeficiency of IgA. At PID of antibody formation we observed increased TNF-α level in the saliva, which may indicate the persistence of local inflammation on the membranes of the respiratory tract., У 40 детей с различными вариантами первичных иммунодефицитов (ПИД) антителообразования ­изучались факторы местного иммунитета в слюне. Установлено, что в слюне всех детей с ПИД антителообразования в сравнении с иммунокомпетентными детьми концентрация факторов адаптивного иммунитета существенно снижена. Недостаточность адаптивного иммунитета при ПИД антителообразования в некоторой степени компенсируется увеличением концентрации факторов врожденного иммунитета на слизистых оболочках — свободного Sc, а также лактоферрина при селективном иммунодефиците IgA. При ПИД антителообразования наблюдается увеличение уровня TNF-α в слюне, что может свидетельствовать о персистенции местного воспаления на оболочках респираторного тракта., У 40 дітей із різними варіантами первинних імунодефіцитів (ПІД) антитілоутворення ви­вчалися фактори місцевого імунітету в слині. Установлено, що в слині всіх дітей із ПІД антитілоутворення порівняно з імунокомпетентними дітьми концентрація факторів адаптивного імунітету суттєво знижена. Недостатність адаптивного імунітету при ПІД антитілоутворення деякою мірою компенсується збільшеним рівнем факторів вродженого імунітету на слизових оболонках — вільного Sc, а також лактоферину при вибірковому імунодефіциті IgA. При ПІД антитілоутворення спостерігається збільшення рівня TNF-α в слині, що може свідчити про персистенцію місцевого запалення на слизових оболонках респіраторного тракту.
