ObjectiveTo analyze the varicella cases from the illness-induced absenteeism system and the National Notifiable Disease and Reporting System （NNDRS） in primary and secondary school students in Minhang District， determine the characteristics of varicella-induced absenteeism in schools， and provide scientific evidence for the prevention and control of varicella in schools.MethodsSurveillance data of varicella-induced absenteeism and varicella cases in the NNDRS in 2021 were collected. Characteristics of varicella-induced absenteeism and consistency of data between the illness-induced absenteeism system and the NNDRS were determined， using descriptive analysis and matching varicella cases in the two systems.ResultsThe incidence of varicella in Minhang District was 48.28/105 in 2021. The overall rate of illness-induced absenteeism was 612.08/105 in primary and secondary schools， and the rate of varicella-induced absenteeism was 6.03/105. The distribution of varicella-induced absenteeism was consistent with the incidence of varicella cases. Furthermore， the rate of varicella-induced absenteeism was significantly higher in boys than in girls. The rate increased synchronously during the peak of varicella incidence. Hyperuricemia, a major worldwide burden on public hygiene, is closely connected with dietary habits. However, few studies have evaluated the association of dietary diversity with hyperuricemia. To preliminarily reveal the status of a diversified diet in preventing hyperuricemia based on a neighborhood-based, massive-scale cohort in China, a total of 43,493 participants aged 20–74 years old, with no history of hyperuricemia at baseline, were enrolled in the research from April 2016 to December 2019. The Dietary Diversity Score (DDS) was utilized to evaluate the dietary variety and split the participants into the low-, medium-, and high-DDS groups. Information on participants was connected to regional health information systems that acquired data on hyperuricemia instances up to 28 February 2023. Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were computed by Cox proportional hazards models. Restricted cubic splines (RCS) were implemented to analyze dose–response correlation. A total of 1460 individuals with newly diagnosed hyperuricemia were observed over a median follow-up period of 5.59 years. Compared to the low-DDS group, HRs for the medium- and high-DDS groups were 0.87 (95% CI 0.76–0.99) and 0.80 (95% CI 0.70–0.91) in the fully adjusted model, respectively. The risk of hyperuricemia incidence was reduced by 5% for each 1 unit of DDS increase. A linear correlation of DDS with hyperuricemia emerged and further revealed that the intake of 8–10 broad categories of food could decrease the incidence of hyperuricemia. Our results validate the dietary principle of "food diversification" recommended in guidelines. The coupled translation-rotation vibratory response of hypoid geared rotor system due to loaded transmission error excitation is studied by employing a generalized 3-dimensional dynamic model. The formulation includes the effects of backlash nonlinearity as well as time-dependent mesh position and line-of-action vectors. Its mesh coupling is derived from a quasi-static, 3-dimensional, loaded tooth contact analysis model that accounts for the precise gear geometry and profile modifications. The numerical simulations show significant tooth separation and occurrence of multi-jump phenomenon in the predicted response spectra under certain lightly loaded operating conditions. Also, resonant modes contributing to the response spectra are identified, and cases with super-harmonics are illustrated. The computational results are then analyzed to quantify the extent of nonlinear and time-varying factors.

Codes used in phase-coded pulse compression waveforms suffer from Doppler mismatch. Based on an analysis of the effects of Doppler mismatch on binary phase-coded waveforms, a class of codes is proposed (hereafter referred to as the component codes), its derivation and processing is described, and the performance results are analyzed. This technique solves the problem of the Doppler mismatch of binary phase-coded waveforms at the expense of about 3 dB loss in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). This technique may be used in tracking applications, such as accurately and rapidly measuring and tracking targets of unknown speeds. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of this technique.

In order to improve the functional retention of hotel textiles, a cotton functional finishing fabric with different functions has been developed with cotton satin fabric as a carrier. The orthogonal test scheme was used to test and analyze the functional retention of different functional fabrics by adjusting the hydrogen peroxide concentration, washing temperature and pH values of the oxygen bleaching process. The results show that the concentration of hydrogen peroxide, washing temperature and pH value have significant effects on the antibacterial and flame-retardant finishing of cotton fabrics, and the effects on oil repellent property of cotton fabric after oil repellent finishing is limited. It shows different degrees of decline, among which the concentration of hydrogen peroxide has the most obvious effect on antibacterial properties. For every 5 g/L increase in hydrogen peroxide concentration, the antibacterial performance decreases hy nearly 40%, while it is not conducive to the antibacterial maintenance of cotton no matter the pH value is too acidic or alkaline in oxygen bleaching. The increase of hydrogen peroxide concentration, washing temperature and pH value will cause the damage length of cotton fabrics to increase, and the flame retardancy will decrease. Objectives The effects of NOD2 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on Grade III–IV acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) risk are somewhat contradictory in different studies. The aim of the meta-analysis was to clarify the effects of NOD2 SNPs on the incidence of Grade III–IV aGVHD. Methods We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Web of SCIENCE, WanFang and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases to collect eligible publications. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to assess the association between NOD2 polymorphisms and Grade III–IV aGVHD risk. Results A total of nine studies from eight publications met the inclusion criteria and were included in this meta-analysis. Patient NOD2 SNPs were not associated with aGVHD risk. A tendency of higher risk to develop Grade III–IV aGVHD was found in patients with pairs NOD2 SNPs. Subgroup analyses showed that pairs NOD2 SNPs were associated with Grade III–IV aGVHD in the Caucasian population and in identical sibling donors (IS), but not in matched unrelated donors (MUD). In patients who received hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) with T-cell depletion and gut decontamination, there was still an association between pairs NOD2 SNPs and Grade III–IV aGVHD risk. Conclusions Our meta-analysis suggests that pairs NOD2 SNPs, not patient NOD2 SNPs, may be associated with Grade III–IV aGVHD risk, especially in the Caucasian population. It is also indicated that in pairs NOD2 polymorphisms group, patients who receive HSCT from IS may experience higher risk of Grade III–IV aGVHD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aims to identify specific sub-types of hope levels in breast cancer (BC) patients and explore the influencing factors., Methods: Between August and December 2023, 528 BC patients took part in this study. Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) was employed using the Herth Hope Index, Distress Thermometer, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, BC survivors' self-efficacy scale and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast to identify clusters of hope levels., Results: Three potential categories of hope levels were identified: Low Hope Level-Harmonious-Calm Type (33.71%); Moderate Hope Level-Isolation Fear Type (37.12%); and High Hope Level-Optimistic Coping Type (29.17%). The study established that social support, quality of life, psychological distress, self-efficacy, occupation, income, education and type of surgery are factors influencing hope levels., Conclusion: Hope levels within BC patients exhibit identifiable heterogeneity. By discerning the features associated with hope levels, the focus extends beyond patients' occupations, income, education and surgical procedures. It also underscores the importance of enhancing social support, quality of life and self-efficacy while mitigating psychological distress. Purpose: The aim of this study is to explore the interrelationships among body image perception, levels of psychological distress, and the quality of life (QOL) experienced by young breast cancer patients., Methods: This study analyzed data from 339 young female breast cancer patients aged between 18 and 40 years (mean age was 33.47 years) from August 2023 to February 2024. Data on demographic characteristics, psychological distress, body image, medical coping, and QOL of young breast cancer patients were collected. Psychological distress, body image, medical coping, and QOL were measured using the Distress Thermometer (DT), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Body Image Scale (BIS), Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ), and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B), respectively. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine factors influencing QOL., Results: After adjusting for covariates, significant predictors of QOL in young survivors included psychological distress ( β = -3.125; p = 0.002), anxiety and depression ( β = -4.31; p < 0.001), cognitive dimension of body image ( β = -0.218; p = 0.027), behavioral dimension of body image ( β = 0.579; p = 0.047), and confrontational dimension of medical coping ( β = -0.124; p = 0.01)., Conclusion: The findings suggest that higher levels of body image concerns and psychological distress are associated with poorer QOL among young female breast cancer patients. Leukemia stem cells (LSCs) are hypothesized to be capable of driving the development of leukemia, and are responsible for disease relapse. Antibody therapy targeting cell surface antigens has significantly improved the treatment outcomes of leukemia. Therefore, it is important to identify cell surface markers that are expressed on LSCs, and that are unexpressed or expressed at reduced levels on normal hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), in order to establish novel therapeutic targets. In the present study, the immunophenotypic characteristics of cluster of differentiation (CD)34 + CD38 - lineage (Lin) - stem cells were analyzed, and antigen expression levels were compared with the expression of other cell components, using multicolor flow cytometry, in 54 patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and 11 control patients with immune thrombocytopenia. The findings indicated that CD133 and human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DR were expressed on normal HSCs and on AML LSCs, with no significant difference (P>0.05). By contrast, CD33, CD123 and CD44 were highly expressed on AML LSCs, and demonstrated significant differences compared with their expression on normal HSCs (CD33, 81.7 vs. 18.3%; CD123, 75.8 vs. 19.1%; CD44, 97.7 vs. 84.4%). Among the aforementioned antigens, CD33 and CD123 were promising candidates for targeted therapy for the treatment of AML. This was particularly evident for CD123 in immature AML subtype cells, which may require additional investigation within a clinical trial setting. CD44, CD133 and HLA-DR may not be suitable for leukemia targeting due to their broad and high expression levels on normal HSCs and other tissues.
