Background and purpose: Both HOTTIP and H19 are members of long non-coding RNA(lncRNA). They have been found to play an important role in the occurrence, development and migration of tumors. This study aimed to investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of HOTTIP rs2067087, H19 rs2839698 and H19 rs2107425 and the risk of cervical lesions of different grades. Methods: The peripheral venous blood and related clinical data of 345 cases of cervical lesions were collected from Nov. 2018 to Dec. 2020 in Yancheng No.1 People's Hospital, including 220 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and 125 cases of cervical cancer (CC). Three hundred and sixty patients without cervical lesions hospitalized during the same period were selected as the control. TaqMan real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RTFQPCR) was used to genotype the HOTTIP SNP rs2067087, H19 SNP rs2839698 and rs2107425 in the two groups, and χ2 test and unconditional logistic regression were used to analyze the association of the three SNP loci with cervical lesions of different grades. Results: Compared with the control group, there were significant differences in genotype distribution of HOTTIP rs2067087 and H19 rs2839698 in patients with cervical lesions. In the recessive model, the frequency of cervical lesions in patients with HOTTIP rs2067087 GG genotype increased by 52.2% (95% CI: 1.021-2.269, P0.05). Conclusion: HOTTIP rs2067087 SNP is associated with different levels of cervical lesions, and the GG genotype may be a risk factor for CIN; H19 rs2839698 SNP is associated with the risk of cervical cancer, and the TT genotype may be a protective factor for cervical cancer.

In recent years, investing based on ESG performance has become a mainstream investment strategy in the market. In this context, this study selected A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2022 as samples and adopted a panel fixed-effect model to empirically test the impact and mechanism of ESG performance on continuous innovation. The research showed that ESG performance could significantly promote corporate continuous innovation. The mechanism tests found it worked mainly through the channels of alleviating financing constraints, increasing social trust, reducing agency costs, focusing on human capital, and enhancing social capital. Heterogeneity tests found that this effect was more significant for state-owned enterprises, weak marketization, and epidemic shocks. Further research showed that ESG exhibited a more significant level of sustained innovation in the growth and maturity stages. And ESG performance had a significant contribution to corporate innovation resilience. The conclusions of this study enrich the research in the field of ESG performance and corporate continuous innovation and provide empirical evidence for strengthening sustainable development strategies. Melanoma is a highly aggressive cancer, attracting increasing attention worldwide. The 5-year survival rate of patients with metastatic melanoma is low. Therefore, it is critical to identify potential effective biomarkers for diagnosis of melanoma metastasis. In the present study, the melanoma cohort and immune genes were obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and the ImmPort database, respectively. Then, we constructed the immune risk score (IRS) using univariate and multivariate logistic analysis. The area under the curve (AUC) of IRS in sequencing samples and the initial diagnosis patients was 0.90 and 0.80, respectively. Besides, IRS could add benefits for metastasis diagnosis. For sequencing samples, IRS (OR = 16.35, 95% CI = 8.74–30.59) increased the odds for melanoma metastasis. Similar results were obtained in the initial diagnosis patients (OR = 8.93, 95% CI = 3.53–22.61). A composite nomogram was built based on IRS and clinical information with well-fitted calibration curves. We further used other independent melanoma cohorts from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases to confirm the reliability and validity of the IRS (AUC > 0.75, OR > 1.04, and P value < 0.01 in all cohorts). In conclusion, IRS is significantly associated with melanoma metastasis and can be a novel effective signature for predicting the metastasis risk.

The purpose of this study was to test if HBOC-201, a hemoglobin-based oxygen-carrying solution, can decrease infarct size (or Inf) during acute, severe myocardial ischemia and reperfusion. To test the impact of HBOC-201 on infarct size, ischemia was produced in 18 dogs by coronary stenosis to achieve 80-95% flow reduction for 195 min along with pacing 10% above the spontaneous heart rate, followed by 180 min of reperfusion. Animals were randomized to intravenous infusion of HBOC-201 (1 g/kg) (n = 6), normal saline (NS) (n = 6), or phenylephrine (Phe) (n = 6, as a control for the increased blood pressure seen with HBOC-201), given 15 min after the start of ischemia. Amount of infarct was quantified as the ratio between area at risk (AAR) and Inf after Evans blue and 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining. Hearts were divided into five layers from base (layer A) to apex (layer E) and photographed for digital image analysis of AAR and Inf. Regional myocardial function (RMF) was also measured after 60 min of ischemia and 15 min of reperfusion. Inf/AAR was significantly reduced after HBOC-201 therapy (4.4 [+ or -] 2.2%) vs. NS (26.0 [+ or -] 3.6%) and Phe (25.7 [+ or -] 4.1%) (both, P < 0.05). RMF after reperfusion was restored to 92% of baseline with HBOC-201 compared with 11% of baseline after NS (P < 0.05) and 49% after Phe (P = not significant).
