1. Spectropolarimetry of Fraunhofer lines in local upper solar atmosphere

Abstract: Spectropolarimetric results of Fraunhofer lines between 516.3nm and 532.6nm are presented in local upper solar chromosphere, transition zone and inner corona below a height of about 0.04 solar radius above the solar limb. The data were acquired on Nov.3, 2013 during a total solar eclipse in Gabon by the prototype Fiber Arrayed Solar Optical Telescope(FASOT). It is found that the polarization amplitudes of the Fraunhofer lines in these layers depend strongly on specific spectral lines. Fraunhofer line at MgI$b_{1}$518.4nm can have a polarization amplitude up to 0.36$\%$ with respective to the continuum polarization level, while the polarizations of some lines like FeI/CrI524.7nm and FeI525.0nm are often under the detection limit 6.0$\times 10^{-4}$. The polarizations of the Fraunhofer lines, like the emission lines and the continuum, increase with height as a whole trend. The fractional linear polarization amplitudes of inner F-corona can be close to those of inner E-corona, and in general larger than those of inner K-corona. Rotation of the polarization direction of Fraunhofer line is often accompanied with variations in their polarization amplitudes and profile shapes. It is also judged from these polarimetric properties, along with evidences, that neutral atoms exist in these atmospheric layers. Thus the inner F-corona described here is induced by the neutral atoms, and the entropy of the inner corona evaluated becomes larger than those in the underneath layers due to more microstates found., Comment: also Submitted to ApJ

2. Sun-as-a-star Study of an X-class Solar Flare with Spectroscopic Observations of CHASE

Abstract: Sun-as-a-star spectroscopic characteristics of solar flares can be used as a benchmark for the detection and analyses of stellar flares. Here, we study the Sun-as-a-star properties of an X1.0 solar flare using high-resolution spectroscopic data obtained by the Chinese $\mathrm{H} \alpha$ Solar Explorer (CHASE). A noise reduction algorithm based on discrete Fourier transformation is first employed to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of the space-integral $\mathrm{H} \alpha$ spectrum with a focus on its typical characteristics. For the flare of interest, we find that the average $\mathrm{H} \alpha$ profile displays a strong emission at the line center and an obvious line broadening. It also presents a clear red asymmetry, corresponding to a redshift velocity of around $50 \ \mathrm{km \ s^{-1}}$ that slightly decreases with time, consistent with previous results. Furthermore, we study how the size of the space-integral region affects the characteristics of the flare Sun-as-a-star $\mathrm{H} \alpha$ profile. It is found that although the redshift velocity calculated from the $\mathrm{H} \alpha$ profile remains unchanged, the detectability of the characteristics weakens as the space-integral region becomes large. An upper limit for the size of the target region where the red asymmetry is detectable is estimated. It is also found that the intensity in $\mathrm{H} \alpha$ profiles, measured by the equivalent widths of the spectra, are significantly underestimated if the $\mathrm{H} \alpha$ spectra are further averaged in the time domain.

Abstract: 3C84 is a nearby radio source with a complex total intensity structure, showing linear polarisation and spectral patterns. A detailed investigation of the central engine region necessitates the use of VLBI above the hitherto available maximum frequency of 86GHz. Using ultrahigh resolution VLBI observations at the highest available frequency of 228GHz, we aim to directly detect compact structures and understand the physical conditions in the compact region of 3C84. We used EHT 228GHz observations and, given the limited (u,v)-coverage, applied geometric model fitting to the data. We also employed quasi-simultaneously observed, multi-frequency VLBI data for the source in order to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the core structure. We report the detection of a highly ordered, strong magnetic field around the central, SMBH of 3C84. The brightness temperature analysis suggests that the system is in equipartition. We determined a turnover frequency of $\nu_m=(113\pm4)$GHz, a corresponding synchrotron self-absorbed magnetic field of $B_{SSA}=(2.9\pm1.6)$G, and an equipartition magnetic field of $B_{eq}=(5.2\pm0.6)$G. Three components are resolved with the highest fractional polarisation detected for this object ($m_\textrm{net}=(17.0\pm3.9)$%). The positions of the components are compatible with those seen in low-frequency VLBI observations since 2017-2018. We report a steeply negative slope of the spectrum at 228GHz. We used these findings to test models of jet formation, propagation, and Faraday rotation in 3C84. The findings of our investigation into different flow geometries and black hole spins support an advection-dominated accretion flow in a magnetically arrested state around a rapidly rotating supermassive black hole as a model of the jet-launching system in the core of 3C84. 4. Formation of a long filament through the connection of two filament segments observed by CHASE

Abstract: We present imaging and spectroscopic diagnostics of a long filament during its formation with the observations from the Chinese H$\alpha$ Solar Explorer and Solar Dynamics Observatory. The seed filament first appeared at about 05:00 UT on 2022 September 13. Afterwards, it grew gradually and connected to another filament segment nearby, building up a long filament at about 20:00 UT on the same day. The CHASE H$\alpha$ spectra show an obvious centroid absorption with mild broadening at the main spine of the long filament, which is interpreted as the evidence of filament material accumulation. More interestingly, near the footpoints of the filament, persistent redshifts have been detected in the H$\alpha$ spectra during the filament formation, indicating continuous drainage of filament materials. Furthermore, through inspecting the extreme ultraviolet images and magnetograms, it is found that EUV jets and brightenings appeared repeatedly at the junction of the two filament segments, where opposite magnetic polarities converged and canceled to each other continuously. These results suggest the occurrence of intermittent magnetic reconnection that not only connects magnetic structures of the two filament segments but also supplies cold materials for the filament channel likely by the condensation of injected hot plasma, even though a part of cold materials fall down to the filament footpoints at the same time., Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures, Accepted for publication in ApJL

The primary outcome measured was peri-operative serum stress indicators and lymphocyte subtypes. Secondary outcomes included hemodynamic vitals, recovery quality, postoperative pain profiles and potential adverse effects.Results: The demographic and surgical characteristics of the 60 analyzed patients were comparable. The absolute counts of CD3+CD4+ and CD3+CD8+ cell decreased significantly on POD1 compared with baseline. On POD3, the numbers of CD3+CD4+ cells in group R were lower than baseline and Group P, whereas the CD3+CD8+ cell counts in both groups were lower than baseline, with group R higher than group P. The CD3-CD16+CD56+ cell numbers in both groups on POD1 and POD3 decreased significantly compared to baseline with group P lower than group R on POD3. The serum levels of IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, ACTH and COR rose sharply 2 hours after the beginning of surgery compared to baseline. Notably, all these parameters in group R were higher than those in group P. Additionally, blood pressure and intra-operative vasoactive drug frequency in group R were higher than that in group P. No significant differences in recovery quality, postoperative pain profiles, and potential adverse effects were observed.Conclusion: Remimazolam-based intravenous anesthesia might favour the recovery of cellular immune function in early postoperative period compared to propofol. On the contrary, remimazolam was inferior to propofol in suppressing surgical stress. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of JWXS remain incompletely understood.Methods: Functional dyspepsia was induced in rats with spleen deficiency by iodoacetamide in combination with the modified multiple platform method. The SD-FD rats were administered JWXS at both low and high doses, as well as domperidone. We conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the treatment effects of JWXS, including body weight, gastrointestinal motility, immune organ index, biochemical analysis, gastrointestinal hormones, and hematological studies. Quantitative proteomic analysis based on data-independent acquisition (DIA) was used to determine the changes in protein profiles of gastric and duodenal tissues in SD-FD rats and JWXS intervention rats.Results: The results showed that JWXS effectively alleviated gastrointestinal motility disorders in SD-FD rats, as indicated by accelerated gastric emptying and intestinal propulsion, increased levels of gastrin, motilin, and ghrelin, and reduced levels of cholecystokinin-octapeptide, vasoactive intestinal peptide, and somatostatin. Additionally, JWXS increased the spleen and thymus index, increased %lymphocyte in blood, reduced white blood cell count and %neutrophil, and improved immune function. Through quantitative proteomic analysis of gastric tissues, we identified 333 differentially expressed proteins in the JWXS treatment group and the model group. Notably, the mechanism by which JWXS accelerated gastric emptying may be related to PLC-γ and SERCA2 in the calcium signaling pathway. Furthermore, JWXS treatment altered the expression of 732 proteins in rat duodenal samples. The differentially expressed proteins were enriched in immune-related functions and pathways, including antigen processing and presentation, as well as the intestinal immune network for IgA production.Conclusion: In conclusion, JWXS exhibits a multi-faceted impact on various pathways, demonstrating its efficacy in treating SD-FD. Its pathological features are persistent synovitis of the joint, accompanied by the release of a large number of inflammatory cytokines and cartilage and bone destruction. RA can lead to progressive joint damage, stiffness and swelling, vascular and bone-related complications, and irreversible disability, which seriously affects patients’ life treatment. Early diagnosis and treatment can enhance the quality of life of RA patients. Platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), as a common indicator in routine blood tests, has been proposed as an indicator of systemic inflammation in recent years. Its clinical detection is less invasive, economical, rapid and simple, and has been applied to the clinical evaluation of a variety of diseases. Of note, this indicator is important in assessing disease activity in RA, co-diagnosing RA, detecting subclinical complications, and monitoring responses to anti-inflammatory therapy. The combination of low-intensity ultrasound with nanomedicine delivery systems holds promise as an alternative for the treatment for liver cancer. This study focuses on the utilization of folic acid (FA) modified nanoparticles, which are loaded with fluorescent dye DiR and liquid fluorocarbon (PFP). These nanoparticles have the potential to enhance liver cancer targeting under ultrasound stimulation and future applications in vivo.Methods: The pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution of folic acid-modified Crebanine polyethylene glycol-polylactic acid copolymer nanoparticles (FA-Cre@PEG-PLGA NPs) were investigated. The pharmacokinetic parameters, liver targeting, and in vivo distribution were assessed. Additionally, the inhibitory impacts of FA-Cre@PEG-PLGA NPs in combination with ultrasonic irradiation on the proliferation and acute toxicity of H22 cells of mouse hepatoma were investigated in vitro. The tumor targeting and anti-tumor efficacy of FA-Cre@PEG-PLGA NPs were assessed utilizing a small animal in vivo imaging system and an in situ hepatocellular carcinoma transplantation model, respectively.Results: The pharmacokinetic studies and tissue distribution tests demonstrated that FA-Cre@PEG-PLGA NPs conspicuously prolonged the half-life and retention time of the drug in rats, and the liver targeting effect was pronounced. Additionally, the in vivo acute toxicity test indicated that FA-Cre@PEG-PLGA NPs had minimal adverse reactions and could fulfill the aim of attenuating the drug. The outcomes of the animal experiments further substantiated that FA-Cre@PEG-PLGA NPs had a longer retention time at the tumor site, a superior anti-tumor effect, and less damage to liver and kidney tissue.Conclusion: The integration of FA-Cre@PEG-PLGA NPs with ultrasound irradiation demonstrated exceptional safety and potent anti-tumor efficacy in vivo, presenting a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of liver cancer through the combination of ultrasound technology with a nanomedicine delivery system.Keywords: targeted drug delivery, pharmacokinetics, ultrasound irradiation, antitumor activity

The aim of this study was to describe an outbreak caused by S. warneri infection in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and provide investigation, prevention and control strategies for this outbreak.Methods: We conducted an epidemiological investigation of the NICU S. warneri outbreak, involving seven neonates, staff, and environmental screening, to identify the source of infection. WGS analyses were performed on S. warneri isolates, including species identification, core genome single-nucleotide polymorphism (cgSNP) analysis, pan-genome analysis, and genetic characterization assessment of the prevalence of specific antibiotic resistance and virulence genes.Results: Eight S. warneri strains were isolated from this outbreak, with seven from neonates and one from environment. Six clinical cases within three days in 2021 were linked to one strain isolated from environmental samples; isolates varied by 0– 69 SNPs and were confirmed to be from an outbreak through WGS. Multiple infection prevention measures were implemented, including comprehensive environmental disinfection and stringent protocols, and all affected neonates were transferred to the isolation wards. Following these interventions, no further cases of S. warneri infections were observed. Furthermore, pan-genome analysis results suggested that in human S. warneri may exhibit host specificity.Conclusion: The investigation has revealed that the outbreak was linked to the milk preparation workbench by the WGS. 11. Deciphering The Slow-rise Precursor of a Major Coronal Mass Ejection

Abstract: Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are explosive plasma phenomena prevalently occurring on the Sun and probably on other magnetically active stars. However, how their pre-eruptive configuration evolves toward the main explosion remains elusive. Here, based on comprehensive observations of a long-duration precursor in an event on 2012 March 13, we determine that the heating and slow rise of the pre-eruptive hot magnetic flux rope (MFR) are achieved through a precursor reconnection located above cusp-shaped high-temperature precursor loops. It is observed that the hot MFR threads are built up continually with their middle initially showing an "M" shape and then being separated from the cusp of precursor loops, causing the slow rise of the entire MFR. The slow rise in combination with thermal-dominated hard X-ray source concentrated at the top of the precursor loops shows that the precursor reconnection is much weaker than the flare reconnection of the main eruption. We also perform a three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics simulation that reproduces the early evolution of the MFR transiting from the slow to fast rise. It is also disclosed that it is the magnetic tension force pertinent to "M"-shaped threads that drives the slow rise, which, however, evolves into a magnetic pressure gradient dominated regime responsible for the rapid-acceleration eruption., Comment: 18 pages, 12 figures (7 in main and 5 in appendix), accepted for publication in ApJ Letters

12. Sequential Remote Brightenings and Co-spatial Fast Downflows during Two Successive Flares

Abstract: Remote brightenings often appear at outskirts of source active regions of solar eruptive events, nevertheless, their origin remains to be ascertained. In this study, we report imaging and spectroscopic observations of sequential remote brightenings with a combination of H$\alpha$ Imaging Spectrograph (HIS) onboard the Chinese H$\alpha$ Solar Explorer (CHASE), which is the first space-based solar telescope of China, and the Solar Dynamics Observatory. It is found that, during two successive M-class flares occurring on 2022 August 17, multiple ribbon-like brightenings appeared in sequence away from the flaring active region. Meanwhile, abundant cool filament materials moved downward to the sequential remote brightenings as visible at the H$\alpha$ red wing with a line-of-sight speed up to 70 km s$^{-1}$. The extrapolated three-dimensional magnetic field configuration shows that the sequential remote brightenings correspond to the footpoints of closed ambient field lines whose conjugate footpoints are rooted in the main flare site. We suggest that the sequential remote brightenings are most likely caused by the heating of interchange reconnection between the erupting flux rope and closed ambient field, during which the rope-hosting filament materials are transferred to the periphery of flaring active region along the closed ambient field rather than to the interplanetary space like in the scenario of the slow solar wind formation.

Abstract: Magnetic reconnection is a key mechanism involved in solar eruptions and is also a prime possibility to heat the low corona to millions of degrees. Here, we present ultra-high-resolution extreme ultraviolet observations of persistent null-point reconnection in the corona at a scale of about 390 km over one hour observations of the Extreme-Ultraviolet Imager on board Solar Orbiter spacecraft. The observations show formation of a null-point configuration above a minor positive polarity embedded within a region of dominant negative polarity near a sunspot. The gentle phase of the persistent null-point reconnection is evidenced by sustained point-like high-temperature plasma (about 10 MK) near the null-point and constant outflow blobs not only along the outer spine but also along the fan surface. The blobs appear at a higher frequency than previously observed with an average velocity of about 80 km/s and life-times of about 40 s. The null-point reconnection also occurs explosively but only for 4 minutes, its coupling with a mini-filament eruption generates a spiral jet. These results suggest that magnetic reconnection, at previously unresolved scales, proceeds continually in a gentle and/or explosive way to persistently transfer mass and energy to the overlying corona., Comment: 27 pages, 7 figures

15. Evidence of external reconnection between an erupting mini-filament and ambient loops observed by Solar Orbiter/EUI

Abstract: Mini-filament eruptions are one of the most common small-scale transients in the solar atmosphere. However, their eruption mechanisms are still not understood thoroughly. Here, with a combination of 174 A images of high spatio-temporal resolution taken by the Extreme Ultraviolet Imager on board Solar Orbiter and images of the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly on board Solar Dynamics Observatory, we investigate in detail an erupting mini-filament over a weak magnetic field region on 2022 March 4. Two bright ribbons clearly appeared underneath the erupting mini-filament as it quickly ascended, and subsequently, some dark materials blew out when the erupting mini-filament interacted with the outer ambient loops, thus forming a blowout jet characterized by a widening spire. At the same time, multiple small bright blobs of 1-2 Mm appeared at the interaction region and propagated along the post-eruption loops toward the footpoints of the erupting fluxes at a speed of ~ 100 km/s. They also caused a semi-circular brightening structure. Based on these features, we suggest that the mini-filament eruption first experiences internal and then external reconnection, the latter of which mainly transfers mass and magnetic flux of the erupting mini-filament to the ambient corona., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in Astronomy & Astrophysics

Comparable demographic factors such as age, gender, smoking and drinking history, COPD duration, inhaled drug classification, and home oxygen therapy application were observed. Notable differences were found in BMI and inhaled drug use between the two groups.Results: The energy-adequate group exhibited significant improvements in various health indicators, including lymphocyte count, hemoglobin, CRP, total cholesterol, prealbumin, albumin, PNI, SII, SIRI, CAR, and CONUT scores in the secondary auxiliary examination. These positive changes suggest a notable enhancement in nutritional, immune, and inflammatory status.Conclusion: This research highlights the substantial benefits of adequate energy supply in elderly COPD patients. The observed improvements in nutritional, immune, and inflammatory markers underscore the importance of addressing energy needs to positively influence disease-related outcomes in this population. We assessed the association of RI with clinical outcomes in patients with acute basilar artery occlusion (ABAO), and the impact of RI on the effects of endovascular therapy (EVT) versus standard medical treatment (SMT).Patients and Methods: We used data from the BASILAR registry, an observational, prospective, nationwide study of patients with ABAO in routine clinical practice in China. Baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was recorded at admission. The primary outcome was the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score at 90 days. Secondary outcomes included favourable outcome (mRS score 0– 3), mortality, and symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage (sICH). Multivariate logistic regression was used to assess the association of RI with mortality and functional improvement at 90 days.Results: Among 829 patients enrolled, 747 patients were analysed. The median baseline eGFR was 89 mL/min/1.73m2 (IQR, 71– 100), and 350 (46.8%), 297 (39.8%), and 100 (13.4%) patients had baseline eGFR values of ≥ 90, 60– 89, and < 60 mL/min/1.73m2, respectively. RI was associated with increased mortality (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 1.97; 95% CI, 1.15– 3.67) at 90 days and decreased survival probability (aOR 1.74; 95% CI, 1.30– 2.33) within 1 year. EVT was associated with better functional improvement (common aOR, 2.50; 95% CI, 1.43– 4.35), favourable outcome (aOR 5.42; 95% CI, 1.92– 15.29) and lower mortality (aOR 0.47; 95% CI, 0.25– 0.88) in ABAO patients with eGFR ≥ 90 mL/min/1.73m2. 19. Electronic phase diagram of Cr-doped VO2 epitaxial films studied by in situ photoemission spectroscopy

Abstract: Through in situ photoemission spectroscopy (PES), we investigated the changes in the electronic structure of Cr-doped VO2 films coherently grown on TiO2 (001) substrates. The electronic phase diagram of CrxV1-xO2 is drawn by a combination of electric and spectroscopic measurements. The phase diagram is similar to that of bulk CrxV1-xO2, while the temperature of metal-insulator transition (TMIT) is significantly suppressed by the epitaxial strain effect. In the range of x = 0-0.04, where TMIT remains unchanged as a function of x, the PES spectra show dramatic change across TMIT, demonstrating the characteristic spectral changes associated with the Peierls phenomenon. In contrast, for x > 0.04, the TMIT linearly increases, and the metal-insulator transition (MIT) may disappear at x = 0.08-0.12. The PES spectra at x = 0.08 exhibit pseudogap behavior near the Fermi level, whereas the characteristic temperature-induced change remains almost intact, suggesting the existence of local V-V dimerization. The suppression of V-V dimerization with increasing x was confirmed by polarization-dependent x-ray absorption spectroscopy. These spectroscopic investigations reveal that the energy gap and V 3d states are essentially unchanged with 0 $\le$ x $\le$ 0.08 despite the suppression of V-V dimerization. The invariance of the energy gap with respect to x suggests that the MIT in CrxV1-xO2 arises primarily from the strong electron correlations, namely the Peierls-assisted Mott transition. Meanwhile, the pseudogap at x = 0.08 eventually evolves to a full gap (Mott gap) at x = 0.12, which is consistent with the disappearance of the temperature-dependent MIT in the electronic phase diagram. 20. Overexpansion-dominated Coronal Mass Ejection Formation and Induced Radio Bursts

Abstract: Aims. Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are the most fascinating explosion in the solar system; however, their formation is still not fully understood. Methods. Here, we investigate a well-observed CME on 2021 May 07 that showed a typical three-component structure and was continuously observed from 0 to 3 Rsun by a combination of SDO/AIA (0--1.3 Rsun), PROBA2/SWAP (0--1.7 Rsun) and MLSO/K-Cor (1.05--3 Rsun). Furthermore, we compare the morphological discrepancy between the CME white-light bright core and EUV blob. In the end, we explore the origin of various radio bursts closely related to the interaction of the CME overexpansion with nearby streamer. Results. An interesting finding is that the height increases of both the CME leading front and bright core are dominated by the overexpansion during the CME formation. The aspect ratios of the CME bubble and bright core, quantifying the overexpansion, are found to decrease as the SO/STIX 4--10 keV and GOES 1--8 A soft X-ray flux of the associated flare increases near the peaks, indicating an important role of the flare reconnection in the first overexpansion. The CME bubble even takes place a second overexpansion although relatively weak, which is closely related to the compression with a nearby streamer and likely arises from an ideal MHD process. Moreover, the CME EUV blob is found to be relatively lower and wider than the CME white-light bright core, may correspond to the bottom part of the growing CME flux rope. The interaction between the CME and the streamer leads to two type II radio bursts, one normally drifting and one stationary, which are speculated to be induced at two different sources of the CME-driven shock front. The bidirectional electrons evidenced by series of "C-shaped" type III bursts suggest that the interchange reconnection be also involved during the interaction of the CME and streamer.

Clinical features and laboratory findings were compared between patients with anti-MDA5 positive DM and patients with ASyS. In the anti-MDA5 positive DM cohort, clinical features and laboratory findings between patients with liver involvement and without liver involvement were further compared. The effects of liver involvement on the overall survival (OS) and development of RP-ILD were also analyzed using Kaplan–Meier method and Cox regression analysis.Results: Levels of serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), γ-glutamyl transferase (γGT) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) were all significantly higher in patients with anti-MDA5 positive DM than those in patients with ASyS. In our cohort of anti-MDA5 positive DM patents, 31 patients (34.4%) were complicated with liver involvement. Survival analysis revealed that serum ferritin > 1030.0 ng/mL (p< 0.001), ALT > 103.0 U/l (p< 0.001), AST > 49.0 U/l (p< 0.001), γGT > 82.0 U/l (p< 0.001), ALP > 133.0 U/l (p< 0.001), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)> 474.0 U/l (p< 0.001), plasma albumin (ALB) < 35.7 g/l (p< 0.001) and direct bilirubin (DBIL) > 2.80 μmol/l (p=0.002) predicted poor prognosis. The incidence of RP-ILD increased remarkably in patients with liver involvement compared to patients without liver involvement (58.1% vs 22.0%, p=0.001). Multivariate analysis revealed that elevated serum ALT level was an independent risk factor for mortality (HR 6.0, 95% CI 2.3, 16.2, p< 0.001) and RP-ILD (HR 5.9, 95% CI 2.2, 15.9, p< 0.001) in anti-MDA5 positive DM patents.Conclusion: Liver involvement is common in patients with anti-MDA5 positive DM. Abstract: We report the phase-connected timing ephemeris, polarization pulse profiles, Faraday rotation measurements, and Rotating-Vector-Model (RVM) fitting results of twelve millisecond pulsars (MSPs) discovered with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) in the Commensal radio Astronomy FAST survey (CRAFTS). The timing campaigns were carried out with FAST and Arecibo over three years. Eleven of the twelve pulsars are in neutron star - white dwarf binary systems, with orbital periods between 2.4 and 100 d. Ten of them have spin periods, companion masses, and orbital eccentricities that are consistent with the theoretical expectations for MSP - Helium white dwarf (He WD) systems. The last binary pulsar (PSR J1912$-$0952) has a significantly smaller spin frequency and a smaller companion mass, the latter could be caused by a low orbital inclination for the system. Its orbital period of 29 days is well within the range of orbital periods where some MSP - He WD systems have shown anomalous eccentricities, however, the eccentricity of PSR J1912$-$0952 is typical of what one finds for the remaining MSP - He WD systems., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, MNRAS accepted

Abstract: Microflares, one of small-scale solar activities, are believed to be caused by magnetic reconnection. Nevertheless, their three-dimensional (3D) magnetic structures, thermodynamic structures, and physical links to the reconnection have been unclear. In this Letter, based on high-resolution 3D radiative magnetohydrodynamic simulation of the quiet Sun spanning from the upper convection zone to the corona, we investigate 3D magnetic and thermodynamic structures of three homologous microflares. It is found that they originate from localized hot plasma embedded in the chromospheric environment at the height of 2--10 Mm above the photosphere and last for 3--10 minutes with released magnetic energy in the range of $10^{27}-10^{28}$ erg. The heated plasma is almost co-spatial with the regions where the heating rate per particle is maximal. The 3D velocity field reveals a pair of converging flows with velocities of tens of km s$^{-1}$ toward and outflows with velocities of about 100 km s$^{-1}$ moving away from the hot plasma. These features support that magnetic reconnection plays a critical role in heating the localized chromospheric plasma to coronal temperature, giving rise to observed microflares. The magnetic topology analysis further discloses that the reconnection region is located near quasi-separators where both current density and squashing factors are maximal although the specific topology may vary from tether-cutting to fan-spine-like structure.

28. Quantifying the Magnetic Structure of a Coronal Shock Producing a Type II Radio Burst

Abstract: Type II radio bursts are thought to be produced by shock waves in the solar atmosphere. However, what magnetic conditions are needed for the generation of type II radio bursts is still a puzzling issue. Here, we quantify the magnetic structure of a coronal shock associated with a type II radio burst. Based on the multi-perspective extreme-ultraviolet observations, we reconstruct the three-dimensional (3D) shock surface. By using a magnetic field extrapolation model, we then derive the orientation of the magnetic field relative to the normal of the shock front ($\theta_{\rm Bn}$) and Alfv\'{e}n Mach number ($M_A$) on the shock front. Combining the radio observations from Nancay Radio Heliograph, we obtain the source region of the type II radio burst on the shock front. It is found that the radio burst is generated by a shock with $M_A \gtrsim 1.5$ and a bimodal distribution of $\theta_{Bn}$. We also use the Rankine-Hugoniot relations to quantify the properties of the shock downstream. 29. Grow-up of a Filament Channel by Intermittent Small-scale Magnetic Reconnection

Abstract: Filament channel (FC), a plasma volume where the magnetic field is primarily aligned with the polarity inversion line, is believed to be the pre-eruptive configuration of coronal mass ejections. Nevertheless, evidence for how the FC is formed is still elusive. In this paper, we present a detailed study on the build-up of a FC to understand its formation mechanism. The New Vacuum Solar Telescope of Yunnan Observatories and Optical and Near-Infrared Solar Eruption Tracer of Nanjing University, as well as the AIA and HMI on board Solar Dynamics Observatory are used to study the grow-up process of the FC. Furthermore, we reconstruct the non-linear force-free field (NLFFF) of the active region using the regularized Biot-Savart laws (RBSL) and magnetofrictional method to reveal three-dimension (3D) magnetic field properties of the FC. We find that partial filament materials are quickly transferred to longer magnetic field lines formed by small-scale magnetic reconnection, as evidenced by dot-like H{\alpha}/EUV brightenings and subsequent bidirectional outflow jets, as well as untwisting motions. The H{\alpha}/EUV bursts appear repeatedly at the same location and are closely associated with flux cancellation, which occurs between two small-scale opposite polarities and is driven by shearing and converging motions. The 3D NLFFF model reveals that the reconnection takes place in a hyperbolic flux tube that is located above the flux cancellation site and below the FC. However, the clinical characteristics, therapeutic efficacy and outcome in these critically ill HLH patients have remained unclear.Methods: We performed a retrospective study of 50 critically ill HLH patients from September 2013 to October 2022. Patients’ information was collected, and the overall survival rate was estimated.Results: Fifty HLH patients need intensive care, and the median sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score was 8. 66.00% patients had septic shock, 60.00% had disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and 56.00% had acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). 64.00% patients needed vasoactive drugs, 60.00% needed invasive or non-invasive positive pressure mechanical ventilation, and 12.00% needed continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Among 18 patients received the etoposide-based regimens, the median time for 17 patients to remove ECG monitoring was 13 days (4– 30 days); the median time to remove respiratory support in 10 patients was 8.5 days (4– 21 days); the median time for 5 patient to convert from dominant DIC to non-dominant DIC was 4 days (1– 14 days) and the median time for 6 patients to stop using vasoactive drugs was 10 days (2– 14 days). After 4 weeks of treatment, 7 patients were evaluated as NR, 6 achieved PR, and 5 could not be evaluated. The ORR was 55.56%. Up to the last follow-up, the OS rate of patients receiving etoposide-based regimens was 66.67%. In contrast, all 32 HLH patients in other groups died. Univariate analysis showed that PCT > 0.5 ug/L, PT prolonged > 6 s, TBil > 25umol/L, respiratory failure, renal failure, liver failure and did not receive etoposide- based regimens were the negative factors affecting survival (P = 0.001, 0.017, 0.043, 0.001, 0.000, 0.029, 0.000).Conclusion: HLH patients who need intensive care timely used etoposide-based HLH regimens might rescue critically ill patients successfully.Keywords: hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, etoposide-based treatment, critically ill patients, prognosis

Abstract: Identifiability of linear dynamic networks requires the presence of a sufficient number of external excitation signals. The problem of allocating a minimal number of external signals for guaranteeing generic network identifiability has been recently addressed in the literature. Here we will extend that work by explicitly incorporating the situation that some network modules are known, and thus are fixed in the parametrized model set. The graphical approach introduced earlier is extended to this situation, showing that the presence of fixed modules reduces the required number of external signals. An algorithm is presented that allocates the external signals in a systematic fashion.

After four rounds of panning, positive phage clones were identified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Further, the nanobody fusion protein was constructed in pNFCG1-IgG1-Fc vector and expressed in HEK293F cells and purified by affinity chromatography. The specificity and affinity of the nanobodies were identified by ELISA. The binding kinetics of the VHH antibody to A35R were assessed via employment of a bio-layer interferometry (BLI) apparatus, thereby determining the nanobodies affinity.Results: The three purified nanobodies showed specific high-affinity binding MPXV A35R, of them, VHH-1 had the best antigen binding affinity (EC50 = 0.010 ug/mL). In addition, VHH-1 on Protein A biosensor can bind Mpox virus A35R, with an affinity constant of 54 nM as determined in BLI assay.Conclusion: In sum, we has obtained three nanobody strains against Mpox virus A35R with significant affinity and specificity, therefore laying an essential foundation for further research as well as the applications of diagnostic and therapeutic tools of Mpox virus.Keywords: monkeypox virus, A35R, nanobody, phage display library

34. Faraday rotation study of plasma bubbles in GeV wakefield accelerators

Abstract: We visualize plasma bubbles driven by 0.67 PW laser pulses in plasma of density $n_e \approx 5\times10^{17}$ ${\rm cm}^{-3}$ by imaging Faraday rotation patterns imprinted on linearly-polarized probe pulses of wavelength $\lambda_{pr} = 1.05 \mu$m and duration $\tau_{pr} = 2$ ps or $1$ ps that cross the bubble's path at right angles. When the bubble captures and accelerates tens to hundreds of pC of electron charge, we observe two parallel streaks of length $c\tau_{pr}$ straddling the drive pulse propagation axis, separated by $\sim45$ $\mu$m, in which probe polarization rotates by $0.3^\circ$ to more than $5^\circ$ in opposite directions. Accompanying simulations show that they result from Faraday rotation within portions of dense bubble side walls that are pervaded by the azimuthal magnetic field of accelerating electrons during the probe transit across the bubble. Analysis of the width of the streaks shows that quasi-monoenergetic high-energy electrons and trailing lower energy electrons inside the bubble contribute distinguishable portions of the observed signals, and that relativistic flow of sheath electrons suppresses Faraday rotation from the rear of the bubble. The results demonstrate favorable scaling of Faraday rotation diagnostics to $40\times$ lower plasma density than previously demonstrated., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: We examine the atomic intermixing phenomenon in three distinct amorphous CoB-based multilayer thin film platforms - Pt/CoB/Ir, Ir/CoB/Pt and Pt/CoB/MgO - which are shown to stabilise room-temperature chiral magnetic textures. Intermixing occurs predominantly between adjacent metallic layers. Notably, it is stack-order dependent, and particularly extensive when Ir sits atop CoB. Intermixing induced variations in magnetic properties are ascribed to the formation of magnetic dead layer arising from CoIr alloying in the metallic stacks. It also produces systematic variations in saturation magnetization, by as much as 30%, across stacks. Crucially, the resulting crossover CoB thickness for the transition from perpendicular to in-plane magnetic anisotropy differs by more than 2x across the stacks. Finally, with thermal annealing treatment over moderate temperatures of 150-300 degree Celsius, the magnetic anisotropy increases monotonically across all stacks, coupled with discernibly larger Hc for the metallic stacks. These are attributed to thermally induced CoPt alloying and MgO crystallization in the metallic and oxide stacks, respectively. Remarkably, the CoB in the Pt/CoB/MgO stacks retains its amorphous nature after annealing. Our results set the stage for harnessing the collective attributes of amorphous CoB-based material platforms and associated annealing processes for modulating magnetic interactions, enabling the tuning of chiral magnetic texture properties in ambient conditions., Comment: Supplementary information included

Abstract: Solar flares are rapid energy release phenomena that appear as bright ribbons in the chromosphere and high-temperature loops in the corona, respectively. Supra-arcade Downflows (SADs) are plasma voids that first come out above the flare loops and then move quickly towards the flare loop top during the decay phase of the flare. In our work, we study 20 SADs appearing in three flares. By differential emission measure (DEM) analysis, we calculate the DEM weighted average temperature and emission measure (EM) of the front region and the main body of SADs. It is found that the temperatures of the SAD front and body tend to increase during the course of SADs flowing downwards. The relationship between the pressure and temperature fits well with the adiabatic equation for both the SAD front and body, suggesting that the heating of SADs is mainly caused by adiabatic compression. Moreover, we also estimate the velocities of SADs via the Fourier Local Correlation Tracking (FLCT) method and find that increase of the temperature of the SAD front presents a correlation with the decrease of the SAD kinetic energy, while the SAD body does not, implying that the viscous process may also heat the SAD front in spite of a limited role., Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures; published by ApJ

Abstract: We reconstruct spectra of secondary x-rays generated from a 500 MeV - 2 GeV laser plasma electron accelerator. A compact (7.5 $\times$ 7.5 $\times$ 15 cm), modular x-ray calorimeter made of alternating layers of absorbing materials and imaging plates records the single-shot x-ray depth-energy distribution. X-rays range from few-MeV inverse Compton scattered x-rays to $\sim$100 MeV average bremsstrahlung energies and are characterized individually by the same calorimeter detector. Geant4 simulations of energy deposition from mono-energetic x-rays in the stack generate an energy-vs-depth response matrix for the given stack configuration. The increase in nanomaterials in recent years has extended the scope of tools for wound healing; however, it is still difficult to achieve the four multistage procedures simultaneously.Materials and Methods: In this study, graphene-spiky silica heterostructured nanoparticles (GS) were synthesized for the procedural acceleration of the multistage in wound healing process. The nanobridge effect of GS was analyzed through the adhesion of two skins, the antibacterial effect was assessed in Gram-negative Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) bacteria, cell proliferation and migration were investigated in mouse embryonic fibroblast (NIH-3T3) cells, and the in vivo wound healing effect was examined in female BALB/c mice with a cutting wound and E. coli or S. aureus bacteria infection on the back.Results: First, GS has a strong nanobridge effect on the rapid closure of wounds because the spiky architecture on the surface of GS facilitates the adhesion of skins, promoting the hemostasis stage. Second, graphene exhibits antimicrobial activities both in chemical and physical interactions, especially under simulated sunlight irradiation. Third, graphene plays an important role in scaffolding function, together with the spiky topographical architecture of GS, accelerating the proliferation and maturation stages.Conclusion: By periodically promoting every stage of wound healing, GS combined with simulated sunlight irradiation could significantly accelerate wound healing. The samples were analyzed using a novel multiplex fluorescence quantitative PCR method for Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella pneumophila, and Staphylococcus aureus. The results were compared to the results of bacterial culture and sequencing, as well as the results of third-party kits.Results: Compared to the bacterial culture method, 2047 samples were detected with a sensitivity of 100%, a specificity of 72.22%, and an overall compliance rate of 81.91%. Compared to the sequencing method, the positive agreement percentage was 99.88%, the negative agreement percentage was 97.72%, and the overall agreement rate was 98.84%. Compared to similar control reagents, the positive agreement percentage was 100%, negative agreement percentage was 79.79%, and overall compliance rate was 96.19%.Conclusion: The multiplex fluorescence PCR method has the advantages of simultaneously detecting multiple pathogenic bacteria and reducing the duration of pathogen culture identification. 43. Mechanisms from Academic Stress to Subjective Well-Being of Chinese Adolescents: The Roles of Academic Burnout and Internet Addiction

This study aims to investigate the psychological and behavioral factors operating as pathways between academic stress and adolescents’ subjective well-being.Samples and Methods: A multi-stage cluster random sampling is used to select 1043 adolescents from junior and senior high schools in Jinhu County, Jiangsu Province, China (mean age=14.98 years; 51.1% boys). Structural equation modeling is used to test the direct and indirect effects.Results: Academic stress is significantly correlated with adolescents’ subjective well-being after controlling for gender, grade, hukou, and socioeconomic status. In addition to partially mediating the link between academic stress and subjective well-being, academic burnout and Internet addiction can also operate as chain mediators in this mechanism. Adolescents’ subjective well-being shows significant gender disparities, with boys having a greater degree of subjective well-being than girls. Father’s income is found to have a significant positive association with adolescents’ subjective well-being.Conclusion: The results indicate that academic stress is a significant predictor of academic burnout, which in turn points to a positive association with Internet addiction, thereby explaining low levels of adolescents’ subjective well-being. The present study develops current knowledge and expands our understanding of the underlying mechanisms by which academic stress influences adolescents’ subjective well-being. This can also illuminate the practical ramifications for policymakers and social workers to mitigate academic-related stress and burnout, prevent Internet addiction, and ultimately promote the well-being of adolescent students.Keywords: academic stress, subjective well-being, academic burnout, Internet addiction

The main focus was on evaluating the accuracy of different methods for detecting resistance to rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), and streptomycin (SM).Results: Among the 161 strains of M.tb, 83.85% (135/161) were fully sensitive to RIF, INH, and SM according to pDST, and the rate of multidrug resistance was 4.35% (7/161). The drug resistance rates of lineage 2 M.tb to the three drugs (26/219, 11.87%) were significantly higher than those of non-lineage 2 M.tb (12/264, 4.45%) (P< 0.05). Compared with pDST, WGS had a sensitivity of 100%, 94.12%, and 92.31% and a specificity of 100%, 99.31%, and 98.65% for RIF, INH, and SM, respectively, with no significant difference. The sensitivity of HRM for RIF, INH, and SM was 87.50%, 52.94%, and 76.92%, respectively, while the specificity was 96.08%, 99.31%, and 99.32%, respectively. The sensitivity of HRM for detecting INH resistance was significantly lower than that of pDST (P=0.039). Compared with HRM, WGS increased the sensitivity of RIF, INH, and SM by 12.50%, 41.18%, and 15.38%, respectively.Conclusion: There are significant differences in drug resistance rates among different lineages of M.tb, with lineage 2 having higher rates of RIF, INH, and SM resistance than lineages 3 and 4. The sensitivity of HRM is far lower than that of pDST, and currently, the accuracy of HRM is not sufficient to replace pDST. The development of PIU in adolescents and the effects of gender and loneliness development on PIU development were examined using a latent growth model.Results: The results revealed that individuals’ PIU development showed a nonlinear latent growth model, with PIU significantly higher than 0 in grade 6 and its growth rate slowing down as PIU increased. Individuals’ PIU at low starting levels developed more rapidly later. Boys had higher initial levels of PIU but their PIU developed and increased at the same rate as girls’. Both the initial value and slope of loneliness had a significant effect on the initial value and slope of boys’ and girls’ PIU.Conclusion: Interventions for PIU in early adolescents also need to consider loneliness at the same time, and intervention groups can focus on individuals with low initial levels of PIU, boys, and individuals with high levels of loneliness.Keywords: problematic internet use, loneliness, latent growth model, gender, early adolescents

Abstract: A current sheet, where magnetic energy is liberated through reconnection and is converted to other forms, is thought to play the central role in solar flares, the most intense explosions in the heliosphere. However, the evolution of a current sheet and its subsequent role in flare-related phenomena such as particle acceleration is poorly understood. Here we report observations obtained with NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory that reveal a multiphase evolution of a current sheet in the early stages of a solar flare, from its formation to quasi-stable evolution and disruption. Abstract: Over the modern satellite era, substantial climatic changes have been observed in the Antarctic, including atmospheric and oceanic warming, ice sheet thinning and a general Antarctic-wide expansion of sea ice, followed by a more recent rapid loss. Although these changes, featuring strong zonal asymmetry, are partially influenced by increasing greenhouse gas emissions and stratospheric ozone depletion, tropical–polar teleconnections are believed to have a role through Rossby wave dynamics. In this Review, we synthesize understanding of tropical teleconnections to the Southern Hemisphere extratropics arising from the El Niño–Southern Oscillation, Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, focusing on the mechanisms and long-term climatic impacts. These teleconnections have contributed to observed Antarctic and Southern Ocean changes, including regional rapid surface warming, pre-2015 sea ice expansion and its sudden reduction thereafter, changes in ocean heat content and accelerated thinning of most of the Antarctic ice sheet. However, due to limited observations and inherent model biases, uncertainties remain in understanding and assessing the importance of these teleconnections versus those arising from greenhouse gases, ozone recovery and internal variability. Sustained pan-Antarctic efforts towards long-term observations, and more realistic dynamics and parameterizations in high-resolution climate models, offer opportunities to reduce these uncertainties.
