Enterocyte damage and subsequent microbial translocation drive neuroinflammation in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Human ileal bile acid binding protein (I-BABP) and intestinal fatty acid binding proteins (I-FABP) are the indicators of enterocyte damage. Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) is an indirect marker of microbial translocation. The activation of peripheral innate immune cells plays a crucial role in modulating AD progression. Galectin-9 is a versatile immunomodulatory molecule. The purpose of this study was to determine I-FABP, I-BABP, LBP, and galectin-9 levels in MCI and AD and investigate the relationship between I-FABP, I-BABP, LBP and galectin-9. In this study, I-FABP, I-BABP, LBP, and galectin-9 levels were measured using ELISA assay in 115 AD patients, 115 MCI patients, and 115 non-demented control subjects. Increased I-BABP and galectin-9 were observed in MCI and AD patients. Furthermore, AD patients had higher I-BABP and galectin-9 levels compared with MCI patients. However, I-FABP and LBP in three groups had no difference. I-BABP levels were positively correlated with galectin-9, after adjusting confounding factors (r = 0.409, p 0.001). In addition, multivariate analysis revealed that increased I-BABP and galectin-9 levels were significantly associated with reduced mini-mental state examination (MMSE) score. In conclusion, galectin-9 is correlated with I-BABP after adjusting confounding covariates. Moreover, increased I-BABP and galectin-9 in MCI and AD are significant factors for reduced MMSE score. Further studies are needed.

Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most common malignant tumor and second most common cause of tumor-related deaths worldwide. Activated platelets play a prominent role in tumor. Platelet distribution width (PDW) indicates platelets activation and is altered in malignancies. The aim of this study was to explore the prognostic value of PDW for overall survival (OS) in HCC patients. Methods We retrospectively reviewed 273 HCC patients at a single institution from 2010 to 2014. The relationship between PDW and clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed. Kaplan-Meier curves and multivariate Cox regression analyses were used to evaluate the relationship of PDW with OS. Results Low PDW levels were observed in 127 (46.5%) out of 273 patients. A significant correlation was found between PDW and liver cirrhosis. Median follow-up was 36 months, survival curves revealed that the patients with increased PDW had significantly shorter survival time than those with normal PDW (p= 0.001). Cox regression analysis demonstrated that PDW was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival (hazard ratio, 2.464; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.402-4.330, p= 0.001). Conclusion PDW is significantly associated with OS in HCC. This result suggests activated platelet may affect clinical outcome and warrant continued investigation.

The aim of the present study was to assess whether there is a difference in MPV between patients with metastatic BC with liver metastases and those with BC without liver metastases. Methods Between January 2014 and December 2017, 211 metastatic BC patients with synchronous liver metastases and 215 BC patients without metastases were retrospectively analyzed. Patients' clinicopathological characteristics data were collected. Results MPV levels were reduced in patients with liver metastases compared with those in patients without liver metastases. There were significant differences in MPV levels according to liver metastases status both in premenopausal and in postmenopausal non-TNBC or non-HER2+ patients. Moreover, in postmenopausal HER2+ or TNBC patients, MPV levels were lower in patients with liver metastases compared with those in patients without liver metastases. In the group with non-liver metastasis, platelet distribution width was significantly associated with tumor N stage. In addition, the prevalence of BC liver metastases decreased as MPV quartiles increased. After adjusting for other risk factors, the odds ratios for liver metastases according to MPV quartiles were 1.000, 0.267 (0.134-0.530), 0.072 (0.034-0.152), and 0.137 (0.066-0.281), respectively. Conclusion MPV is reduced in BC patients with liver metastases compared with that in BC patients without metastases. Moreover, MPV is independently associated with the presence of liver metastases.

BACKGROUND: Platelets play a key role in tumor progression and metastasis. C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2) is the receptor expressed on platelets and the marker of platelet activation. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to determine whether soluble CLEC-2 levels differ between patients with benign colorectal polyps and those with colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS: We measured plasma soluble CLEC-2 by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in 150 patients with colorectal polyps, 150 CRC patients without metastasis, 150 CRC liver metastasis, and 150 control subjects. RESULTS: The CRC patients had higher soluble CLEC-2 levels than patients with colorectal polyps (p< 0.001). Moreover, CRC patients with liver metastases displayed higher CLEC-2 levels than those in CRC patients without metastases (p< 0.001). In the CRC patients, CLEC-2 levels were correlated with lymph node metastasis and advanced stage. In the patients with polyps, there was a significant difference in CLEC-2 levels among patients with hyperplastic polyp, sessile serrated adenoma, and traditional serrated adenoma (p< 0.001). The ROC curve analysis revealed CLEC-2 had an optimal sensitivity of 77.3% and specificity of 94.6% for the screening of CRC, and sensitivity of 71.0% and specificity of 76.7% for the differential diagnosis of colorectal polyps and CRC. CONCLUSIONS: CRC patients have higher CLEC-2 levels than patients with colorectal polyps and healthy controls. Moreover, there is a significant difference in CLEC-2 levels among polyp subtypes. Further research is warranted.

GFRP bars and PC strand composite pile is a new supporting piles, according to the engineering field test and analysis of experimental data prove that there is a significant effect on the control aspects of the horizontal displacement of supporting piles. Principle energy method can calculate the horizontal displacement of pile foundation pit in theory, by comparing the size of the horizontal displacement of the supporting piles of ordinary reinforcement, to demonstrate the feasibility of using GFRP bars and PC strand combination of techniques to reduce the horizontal displacement of excavation, provide reference for future engineering practice.

Concrete cover thinkness of GFRP to ensure the safety, applicability and durability of the structure is of great significance. Based on studies to 30 the drawing specimens of concrete ,get bond strength of same GFRP diameter,same concrete strength, different concrete cover thinkness. Through the analysis of test data,it is concluded the relationship of the bond strength and the concrete cover thinkness.And basis on the relationship,it is determine the suggestive values on concrete cover thinkness of GFRP.Experimental data and suggestion can provide reference and theoretical basis for the GFRP engineering application and the establishment of the relevant specification.

GFRP bars pile as supporting structures for application in foundation engineering, the construction process of molding and banding quality directly affects the safety of the structure, ease of construction and appearance quality. Through practice on multiple projects, worked out a more mature construction process, better control of the quality of construction projects GFRP bars, standardized operating procedures.

GFRP bars and PC strand combination pile that is configuration GFRP bars in the compression zone of the general pile, in the tension zone configuration PC strand. Pile construction is completed and before the excavation, applied partially prestressed for the tension zone of PC strand, so that GFRP bars in tension, with the excavation pit, GFRP bars tendons pulling force gradually reduced; When the excavation to a certain depth, the second prestressed steel strand so until the excavation is completed. In summary, the technology features is GFRP bars, concrete piles, PC strand all in tension. This makes full use of the concrete compression performance, GFRP bars and PC strand tensile good performance characteristics.

The technology of Concrete beams and slab reinforcement is one of the key technologies of reinforcing and reusing existing buildings. There are many ways of reinforcement on the components and there are also some relevant state regulations. Take the carbon fiber sheet reinforcement technology as an example. It is mainly used to improve the bearing capacity of concrete, but plays limited role in improving the stiffness of concrete. When the changes in the load of industrial buildings are relatively large, it is difficult for this approach to achieve the purpose of reinforcement. While using section steel reinforced concrete slab can not only improve the bearing capacity of beams and plates, but also significantly increase the stiffness of beams and slab. The paper by introducing different methods of section steel reinforced concrete beam, beam end bearing and slab, the essay shows the improvement that a variety of reinforcement methods have made on bearing capacity and stiffness, and points out the precautions during the construction, which provides a reference for engineering applications.

Environmental pollution caused by the construction of buildings is attracting increasing attention. Practically, people have put forward a serious of effective methods to reduce or prevent the pollution, in which optimizing the architectural design plays an important role. This paper gave predictive assessment on the self-composite thermal insulation from aspects such as construction technologies, structure and constitution of this kinds of materials, also includes characteristic of the technologies we used. Besides, an analysis is carried out, from different aspects, on the environmental impact of the precast concrete composite thermal insulation system construction. The results reveal that the pollution is far less than that caused by conventional structure building within the lifecycle.

The influence of admixture on concrete strength and frost-resistance was analyzed by using the mercury intrusion method and the rapid frozen-thaw method under the condition of the same water/binder ratio in this paper. The results showed that the intensity of the concrete with single doped compound mineral admixture is slightly lower than the normal concrete's in concrete 28-days strength experiment when the fixed water/binder ratio is 0.38, but the extent of the concrete strength growth is bigger, and maybe exceed the normal concrete's at the late period of the whole session. It also could be found that the concrete strength added single air entraining agent is lower, particularly the strength of the concrete double mixed with compound mineral admixture and air-entraining agent is lowest. In term of the pore structure, the porosity rate of concrete can be lower and the harmful hole is decreased as well as the less-harmful hole and no-harmful hole are increased when the compound mineral admixture is mixed. The porosity rate will increase, closed pore and less-harmful hole will enhance by a wide margin if the admixture of air entraining agent is added. Moreover, the pore size distribution of concrete becomes reasonable if these two substances are admixed at the same time. From the aspect of frost-resistance, the concrete with co-doped compound mineral admixture and air-entraining agent is best, the concrete with uni-doped air-entraining agent is better secondarily and the concrete with compound mineral admixture alone is just slightly better.
