Airway management in complex tracheobronchial surgery (TBS) remains a challenge in thoracic surgery. The use of extracorporeal membrane pulmonary oxygenation (ECMO) in thoracic surgery is rather rare, except for lung transplantation. To report the safety and efficacy of ECMO in complex TBS, a total of 5 patients with tracheobronchial and bronchial reconstructive surgery supported by ECMO in the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University from May 2019 to June 2024 were collected. Among them, 4 cases of tracheal tumor (including long-segment trachea resection and reconstruction, or carinal resection and reconstruction) and 1 case of acute airway obstruction caused by tracheal rupture were included, all of which were performed in veno-venous ECMO (V-V ECMO) mode. Systemic heparinization was used in 2 patients, and anticoagulation was not performed in 3 patients, which were maintained only by ECMO heparin-coated lines. 4 patients recovered well after surgery, and 1 patient died 1 month after surgery due to immune-related pneumonia. For complex TBS, or in emergency situations (tracheal stenosis with risk of asphyxiation), ECMO can provide adequate support and safeguard.

"Objective To investigate the correlation between skeletal muscle mass and islet function, skeletal muscle mass and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and to elaborate on the clinical significance of skeletal muscle mass in the maintenance of blood glucose homeostasis. Methods A total of 274 adult T2DM patients hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology, the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University from August 2023 to February 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. The basic information of patients was collected, the grip strength of patients was measured, and the blood and urine samples were taken for biochemical detection. Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) was used to measure the skeletal muscle content of the upper and lower limbs, visceral fat area (VFA) and waist circumference fat weight. The skeletal muscle mass index (SMI) and appendicular skeletal muscle mass index (ASMI) were calculated, respectively. Pearson correlation method was used to analyze the correlation of grip strength, SMI and ASMI levels with blood glucose, insulin and C-peptide levels, islet β cell function indicators ［islet β cell function (HOMA-β), corrected insulin reactivity (CIR), insulinogenic index (IGI)］, and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and insulin sensitivity index(ISI). Multirariable linear regression was further used to analyze the correlation between skeletal muscle mass and islet function in T2DM patients with different VFA and BMI. Results In T2DM patients, fasting blood glucose and insulin, 120-minute postprandial blood glucose, and HOMA-IR were negatively correlated with grip strength levels (P＜0.05), while 120-minte postprandial insulin was positively correlated with grip strength levels (P＜0.05). SMI and ASMI were negatively correlated with blood glucose levels at different time points of glucose tolerance in T2DM patients (P＜0.01), and positively correlated with serum C-peptide levels, HOMA-β, CIR, and IGI, respectively (P＜0.05). The level of SMI in lower limbs was negatively correlated with blood glucose, at different time points of glucose tolerance (P＜0.01), and positively correlated with insulin, C-peptide at different time points, as well as HOMA-β, IGI and CIR in T2DM patients (P＜0.05); However, except for the negative correlation between SMI level of upper limbs and 120 min blood glucose (P=0.019), there was no correlation between SMI level and other indicators mentioned above (P ＞0.05). After adjusting for gender and age, BMI stratified analysis showed that the correlations of SMI level with HOMA-β, IGI and CIR were significant in the normal BMI subgroup (P**＜0.05), while the correlations of SMI level with HOMA-IR , ISI were not significant in the normal BMI subgroup (P*>0.05), but significant in the overweight and obese subgroups (P*>0.05). Conclusion Skeletal muscle mass is closely associated with blood glucose, islet function and insulin resistance in patients with T2DM. Increasing skeletal muscle mass of the whole body, especially that of the lower limbs and reducing the fat content accordingly play critical roles in the maintenance of glycemic homeostasis and improving islet function in patients with T2DM."

Through the method of three-dimensional numerical simulation, the rotating detonation combustion characteristics of kerosene-fueled scramjets in the range of Ma＝3~7 were studied. In the flight condition of Ma=3, due to the poor effect of fuel atomization and evaporation, the detonation combustion of kerosene fuel cannot be realized. In the flight conditions of Ma＝4, 5, 6, with the increase of Mach number, the number of wave heads increases gradually, which are single-wave, three-wave, and five-wave modes, respectively. However, the propagation speed gradually decreases. In the scramjet mode, the liquid fuel has a good effect of atomization and evaporation. Nevertheless, kerosene vapor remains in the flow field to varying degrees and is discharged from the combustion chamber without participating in the reaction. In the flight condition of Ma＝7, the flow field will burn in a stationary detonation mode because the incoming flow is close to CJ velocity.

IntroductionObservational investigations have examined the impact of glucosamine use on the risk of cancer and non-neoplastic diseases. However, the findings from these studies face limitations arising from confounding variables, reverse causation, and conflicting reports. Consequently, the establishment of a causal relationship between habitual glucosamine consumption and the risk of cancer and non-neoplastic diseases necessitates further investigation.MethodsFor Mendelian randomization (MR) investigation, we opted to employ single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) as instruments that exhibit robust associations with habitual glucosamine consumption. We obtained the corresponding effect estimates of these SNPs on the risk of cancer and non-neoplastic diseases by extracting summary data for genetic instruments linked to 49 varied cancer types amounting to 378,284 cases and 533,969 controls, as well as 20 non-neoplastic diseases encompassing 292,270 cases and 842,829 controls. Apart from the primary analysis utilizing inverse-variance weighted MR, we conducted two supplementary approaches to account for potential pleiotropy (MR-Egger and weighted median) and assessed their respective MR estimates. Furthermore, the results of the leave-one-out analysis revealed that there were no outlying instruments.ResultsOur results suggest divergence from accepted biological understanding, suggesting that genetically predicted glucosamine utilization may be linked to an increased vulnerability to specific illnesses, as evidenced by increased odds ratios and confidence intervals (95% CI) for diseases, such as malignant neoplasm of the eye and adnexa (2.47 [1.34–4.55]), benign neoplasm of the liver/bile ducts (2.12 [1.32–3.43]), benign neoplasm of the larynx (2.01 [1.36–2.96]), melanoma (1.74 [1.17–2.59]), follicular lymphoma (1.50 [1.06–2.11]), autoimmune thyroiditis (2.47 [1.49–4.08]), and autoimmune hyperthyroidism (1.93 [1.17–3.18]). In contrast to prior observational research, our genetic investigations demonstrate a positive correlation between habitual glucosamine consumption and an elevated risk of sigmoid colon cancer, lung adenocarcinoma, and benign neoplasm of the thyroid gland.ConclusionCasting doubt on the purported purely beneficial association between glucosamine ingestion and prevention of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases, habitual glucosamine ingestion exhibits dichotomous effects on disease outcomes. Endorsing the habitual consumption of glucosamine as a preventative measure against neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases cannot be supported.

The fungal diversity of five sweet fermented oats samples in China was studied by Illumina sequencing. The results showed that the abundance of Mucoromycota and Ascomycota peaked in the oats Tianpei samples, and a bit Basidiomycota were also included. As to genus, Rhizopus had the highest abundance, followed by unclassified_p_Ascomycota, Saccharomyces and Issatchenkia. Principal component analysis (PCA) indicated that five kinds of oats Tianpei samples formed their own fungal clusters. The biomarker taxa of oats Tianpei were identified by Lefse, including Mucor and Pichia. The fungal composition of oats Tianpei was significantlly related to the chemical composition of oats Tianpei (lactic acid, free fatty acid, amino acid, reducing sugar, etc). The fermentation effects of Rhizopus oryzae on the chemical composition of oats Tianpei were studied also. The fermentation of Rhizopus oryzae significantly increased the chemical composition in oats Tianpei. The research provided a theoretical basis for the study of microbial flora, the discovery of related microbial resources, the fermented modification grains, and the improvement of oats Tianpei quality.

Cancer cachexia (CAC) is a debilitating condition that often arises from noncachexia cancer (NCAC), with distinct metabolic characteristics and medical treatments. However, the metabolic changes and underlying molecular mechanisms during cachexia progression remain poorly understood. Understanding the progression of CAC is crucial for developing diagnostic approaches to distinguish between CAC and NCAC stages, facilitating appropriate treatment for cancer patients. In this study, we establish a mouse model of colon CAC and categorize the mice into three groups: CAC, NCAC and normal control (NOR). By performing nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabolomic profiling on mouse sera, we elucidate the metabolic properties of these groups. Our findings unveil significant differences in the metabolic profiles among the CAC, NCAC and NOR groups, highlighting significant impairments in energy metabolism and amino acid metabolism during cachexia progression. Additionally, we observe the elevated serum levels of lysine and acetate during the transition from the NCAC to CAC stages. Using multivariate ROC analysis, we identify lysine and acetate as potential biomarkers for distinguishing between CAC and NCAC stages. These biomarkers hold promise for the diagnosis of CAC from noncachexia cancer. Our study provides novel insights into the metabolic mechanisms underlying cachexia progression and offers valuable avenues for the diagnosis and treatment of CAC in clinical settings.

To investigate the performance of Mask RCNN (region-based convolutional neural network) using T1WI-enhanced images and fusing with attention mechanism in recognizing acoustic neuroma and meningioma in cerebellopontine angle area, this paper retrospectively collected 116 cases of meningioma and 427 cases of acoustic neuroma confirmed by pathology or clinical diagnosis. 872 images of meningioma and 2 467 images of acoustic neuroma were adopted after image screening. These images were divided into the training set, validation set, and test set in a ratio of approximately 7:1.5:1.5. After preprocessing the images, we employed five models, namely Mask RCNN model with Resnet50, Resnet101, VGG19 as the backbone network, and Mask RCNN models Resnet101-CBAM and VGG19-CBAM fusing with the convolution attention mechanism, for the detection and lesion segmentation of acoustic neuromas and meningioma in cerebellopontine angle area. The model performance was evaluated with mean average precision (mAP) and mean average recall (mAR). The results in the test set showed that the convolution attention mechanism could improve model performance. VGG19-CBAM model outperformed other models with mAP of 0.932 in classification and 0.930 in segmentation. This indicates that Mask RCNN fusing with attention mechanism has a better performance in recognizing acoustic neuroma and meningioma in cerebellopontine angle area, and hence can improve clinical efficiency by providing a reference for the diagnosis and target area segmentation.

[Objective] The adaptation relationship and the changing trends between total water consumption and total GDP, water consumption of three industries and GDP of corresponding industries in Jiangxi Province and its 11 prefecture-level cities from 2015 to 2020 were studied, revealing the reasons for the adaptation differences, and providing scientific basis for the coordination of water resource utilization and economic development in the region. [Methods] Industrial water consumption and industrial GDP data were used with the Tapio model in this study. [Results] Total water use and total GDP of Jiangxi Province were both in a state of adaptation from 2015 to 2020, showing a trend pattern of “strong adaption—expanded adaption—strong adaptation”. The degree of adaptation exhibited a spatial distribution pattern of northwest > south > central and east. Agricultural water consumption and GDP of the primary industry showed a trend pattern of “adaptation—coupling—adaptation”, while the adaptation relationship for each city fluctuated. Except for the expansionary adaptation between industrial water consumption and GDP for the secondary industry in the province in 2018—2019, there was a strong adaptation relationship in other periods, and all cities reached a strong adaptation state in 2017—2018. The tertiary industry of the entire province was in a state of expansionary adaptation and positive coupling from 2015 to 2020. Except during the pandemic period in 2020, the adaptation of most cities was better than that of agriculture from 2015 to 2019. On the whole, the degree of adaptation between industrial water consumption and industrial GDP in Jiangxi Province followed the order of industry > tertiary industry > agriculture. [Conclusion] The main reasons for the change in the adaptation relationship between water use and economic development were precipitation, economic level, policy measures, industrial structure, technological progress, construction of water conservation facilities, etc. Countermeasures, such as developing special industries according to local conditions, determining production with water, and promoting transformation and upgrading of industrial structure, have been proposed to help promote sustainable development in Jiangxi Province.

The ocean covers 70% of the earth’s area, and the seawater uranium is more than 1000 times that of terrestrial uranium ore. In order to increase the power generation and ensure the sustainable operation of nuclear power plants, the development of unconventional uranium resources is of great significance. As an effective means to solve shortage of terrestrial uranium resources, uranium extraction from seawater has received extensive attention in recent years. At present, many methods including membrane separation, chemical deposition, solvent extraction, ion exchange, reduction and adsorption have been applied to uranium extraction from seawater. This paper focuses on the recent research progress of adsorption method used inorganic materials, organic materials, carbon materials as adsorbent, and emerging electroreduction technologies, and further discusses the challenges and opportunities of these two methods.

Because it has been widely used in many aspects of national eco and military, its research has attracted the general concentration of scientists all over the world.

In order to enhance the quality of diamond composite materials, this work employs a Cu-Co-Fe and Ni-Cr-Cu pre-alloyed powder mixture as a transition layer, and utilizes laser-welding technology for saw blade fabrication. By adjusting the laser-welding process parameters, including welding speed and welding power, well-formed welded joints were achieved, and the microstructure and mechanical properties of the welded joints were investigated. The results demonstrate that the best welding performance was achieved at a laser power of 1600 W and a welding speed of 1400 mm/min, with a remarkable tooth engagement strength of up to 819 MPa. The fusion zone can be divided into rich Cu phase and rich Fe phase regions, characterized by coarse grains without apparent preferred orientation. The microstructure of the heat-affected zone primarily consists of high-hardness brittle quenched needle-like martensite, exhibiting a sharp increase in microhardness up to 550 HV. Fracture occurred at the boundary between the fusion zone and the heat-affected zone of the base material, where stress concentration was observed. By adjusting the welding parameters and transition layer materials, the mechanical properties of the joints were improved, thereby achieving a reliable connection between diamond composite materials and the metal substrate.

This study conducted 3D numerical simulations to investigate the impact of combustion chamber diameter on the combustion characteristics of liquid kerosene scramjet rotating detonation under high Mach number flow conditions (Ma6/28 km). After ignition, a local hotspot near the contact surface between the combustion product and fresh reactant facilitates the generation of new detonation wave heads, resulting in a co-directional multi-wave mode in the detonation combustion flow field. The higher total temperature of the incoming flow restricts the accumulation of a substantial fuel gas layer in the axial direction of the combustion chamber, resulting in a smaller fuel distribution area and a lower wave head. Increasing the inner diameter of the combustion chamber leads to an increase in the number of wave heads but a decrease in overall height. Specifically, when using diameters of 125 and 150 mm, we observed significant periodic low-frequency oscillations in the peak pressure of the detonation wave during stable propagation. The specific impulse of the fuel does not vary significantly across different combustion chamber diameters. However, when the inner diameter is 75 mm, periodic oscillations occur, which reduce thrust stability. These findings provide valuable insights into optimizing combustion chamber design and improving the efficiency and stability of liquid kerosene scramjet rotating detonation propulsion systems under high Mach number flow conditions.

In order to study the changes of the structure and chemical durability with Fe/P mole ratio(r(Fe/P)), a series of P2O5-Fe2O3-Al2O3-Na2O-ZrO2 glass-ceramic samples with different Fe/P mole ratios were prepared by the melting-quenching method. X-ray diffraction was used for phase analysis, and Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and M-ssbauer spectroscopy were used for structural analysis. n(Fe3+)/(n(Fe2+)+n(Fe3+)) mole ratios increase with the increase of Fe/P mole ratio when the Fe/P mole ratio is less than 0.18. When the Fe/P mole ratio is between 0.18 and 0.32, n(Fe3+)/(n(Fe2+)+n(Fe3+)) fluctuates around 60%. The samples with Fe/P mole ratio between 0.2 and 0.3 have the best chemical durability and relatively low crystal fraction.

The excellent atomization of the fuel in the air-breathing rotating detonation engine is extremely important to the detonation combustion. The gas-liquid combined transverse jet is one of the vital fuel injection technologies. Numerical methods were used to investigate the liquid penetration depth and auxiliary jet gas distribution. The Euler-Lagrange method was used to study the effect of different gas jets on the liquid jet. The results show that the gas jet reduces the momentum flux of the local incoming flow through the shock wave structure and increases the penetration depth of the liquid jet. Under the same incoming flow conditions, the greater the momentum flux of the gas jet, the higher the penetration depth of the liquid jet. It mainly affects the flow field area before the expansion section. The change of gas species has almost no effect on the penetration depth and atomization characteristics of liquid jet in the rear flow field.

As the most important nuclear fuel for nuclear power operation, the safe supply of uranium resources is the key to ensure the sustainable development of nuclear power in China. Uranium extraction from seawater has important and longterm strategic significance to ensure the sustainable development of nuclear power in China. With the updating and development of uranium extraction technology from seawater, the research work of uranium extraction from seawater is facing new opportunities and challenges. Based on the research status of uranium extraction from seawater at home and abroad, this paper puts forward the future plan and prospect of uranium extraction from seawater, which is proposed by “Seawater Uranium Extraction Technology Innovation Alliance” led by China National Nuclear Corporation. It points out the research direction of uranium extraction from seawater in the future, and provides technical support for uranium extraction from seawater to industrialization.

Natural uranium is an important material basis to ensure the sustainable and stable development of national nuclear energy. Ocean contains abundant natural uranium resources, and the extraction of uranium from seawater is of great strategic and economic significance for supplementing and improving our country’s uranium supply system and realizing the autonomy of natural uranium supply. In this paper, the latest progress in the research direction of seawater uranium extraction technology in recent years is reviewed. This paper mainly summarizes the research results of adsorption materials and field tests for uranium extraction from seawater at home and abroad, and prospects the future development of uranium extraction from seawater.

The simulation model represents the microstructure that can accurately analyze and predict composites’ micro-stresses and mechanical properties. The conventional representative volume element (RVE) model can only contain one single-particle form. It makes that all the particles in the simulation model have the same shape, which is significantly different from actual particles. In the present study, four typical particle-modeling methods were adopted to establish geometric models to analyze the particle morphology and RVE size selection rules. Particles with the same granularity and similar volume were selected to generate RVE models with randomly distributed particles to predict the mechanical properties and analyze the micro-stress. The micro-stress distribution of the matrix and particles conformed to the rule of normal distribution, while the stress of the interphase does not conform to this law. The particle morphology has a negligible effect on the stress distribution of the matrix; however, it has a significant influence on the stress distribution of particles and interphases, especially during plastic deformation. Furthermore, the micro-stress of composites containing nanoparticles also conforms to the above law, but the stress of the interphase is more minor, and the stress of particles is more dispersed than composites with micron particles.

Introduction: The use of intracanal cryotherapy in the reduction of postendodontic pain (PEP) has been investigated in several recent scientific publications. This study aims to compare the effect of intracanal cryotherapy at three different temperature ranges (room temperature, 2°C–4°C and 13°C–15°C) on PEP. Materials and Methods: A parallel, double-blind randomized clinical trial was conducted at SEGi University, Malaysia. This trial included 51 participants who were diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and symptomatic apical periodontitis in single-rooted teeth. The root canal therapy was completed in single visit for all the patients. Prior to the obturation step, they were randomly allocated into three groups of 17 participants each (Group 1: room temperature [control], Group 2: 2°C–4°C, and Group 3: 13°C–15°C). The intracanal cryotherapy was performed over a period of 5 min. The PEP scores were measured using Wong Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale and recorded at different time intervals (6, 24, 48, and 72 h), and the data were statistically analyzed. Results: Kruskal–Wallis test showed statistically significant difference in mean pain ranks between at least two out of three groups studied at 24 and 48 h (P ≤ 0.05). At 24 and 48 h, the pairwise post hoc Dunn test with Bonferroni adjustments showed statistically significant difference in pain scores within the Groups 1 versus 3 (room temperature vs. 13°C–15°C) and Groups 1 versus 2 (room temperature vs. 2°C–4°C) (P ≤ 0.05), while within the Groups 2 versus 3 (2°C–4°C vs. 13°C–15°C), there was no statistically significant difference. Conclusion: Intracanal cryotherapy with 13°C–15°C saline is as effective as 2°C–4°C saline in reducing PEP and can be easily incorporated as one of the steps of root canal therapy.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of posaconazole (PCZ) in the prevention of invasive fungal disease (IFD) during allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Methods The medical records of 80 patients who received allo-HSCT at our center from March 2017 to March 2021 were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. They were accordingly divided into PCZ group (n=50) and control group (n=30, taking other anti-fungal drugs). The efficacy and safety of PCZ was analyzed in the prevention of IFD. Results In the PCZ group, 6 patients (12.0%) developed IFD, including 2 confirmed cases and 4 clinically diagnosed. While, IFD occurred in 14 cases from the control group, including 6 confirmed, 6 clinically diagnosed and 2 suspected cases. The incidence of IFD was significantly lower in the PCZ group than the control group (P=0.001). Moreover, in the PCZ group, 38 patients (10.5%) with primary prevention developed 4 cases of IFD, and 2 cases (16.7%) of IFD occurred in 12 patients of secondary prevention, showing no significant difference in the IFD incidence (P=0.951). The IFD-related mortality (21.0% vs 61.5%, P=0.030) and rate of abnormal liver function (20.0% vs 46.7%, P=0.012) were both significantly lower in the PCZ group than the control group. Conclusion PCZ is effective in the prevention of IFD during allo-HSCT, and reduces IFD-related deaths and occurrence of adverse reactions.

Two-phase rotating detonation ramjets are considered to be suitable for aerospace applications due to their high thermodynamic cycle efficiency. These engines have an extremely complex internal flow field, in which the liquid fuel undergoes physical and chemical processes such as fragmentation, evaporation, mixing, and combustion; these processes also interact with detonation waves that have significant gradients. This makes it difficult to simulate a three-dimensional (3D) full-process rotating detonation combustion chamber. Here, based on the Euler–Lagrangian simulation method, a 3D numerical combustion chamber was simulated using kinetic theory and the constant thermal physical property parameter (TPPP) calculation method. The accuracy of these methods was then compared with the existing experimental results and theoretical values. Calculating the TPPPs using kinetic theory brought about a relatively high-pressure peak and detonation wave temperature; the detonation wave profile was also finer and more precise. The detonation wave propagation velocity of the two-phase detonation is estimated to be about 60% of the theoretical gas-phase CJ velocity. The calculation method of physical parameters has relatively little influence on the engine’s operating frequency and the detonation wave's propagation velocity but has a more significant influence on the peak pressure. Constant TPPPs can be used when the Kelvin–Helmholtz–Rayleigh–Taylor model with insufficient precision is used to consider the breakup of droplets and leads to the acceleration of the propagation speed of two-phase detonation waves.

RationalLung cancer is the most common tumor worldwide, with the highest mortality rate and second highest incidence. Immunotherapy is one of the most important treatments for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD); however, it has relatively low response rate and high incidence of adverse events. Herein, we explored the therapeutic potential of fibrinogen-like protein 1 (FGL1) for LUAD.MethodsData from GEPIA and ACLBI databases were assessed to explore gene–gene correlations and tumor immune infiltration patterns. A total of 200 patients with LUAD were recruited. FGL1 levels in the serum and cellular supernatant were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. In vitro and in vivo experiments were performed to assess the effect FGL1 on the proliferation of LUAD cells. Cocultures were performed to explore the effect of FGL1 knockdown in lung cancer cells on T cells, concerning cytokine secretion and viability. PROMO and hTFtarget databases were used for transcription factor prediction. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), chromatin immunoprecipitation, and dual luciferase reporter assays were performed to validate the identified transcription factor of FGL1. Immunoprecipitation, mass spectrometry and gene ontology analysis were performed to explore the downstream partners of FGL1.ResultsFGL1 expression in LUAD was positively associated with PDL1, but not for PD1 expression. Moreover, FGL1 was positively associated with the CD3D expression and negatively associated with FOXP3, S100A9, and TPSB2 within the tumor site. FGL1 promotes the secretion of interleukin-2 by T cells in vitro, simultaneously inducing their apoptosis. Indeed, YY1 is the upstream molecule of FGL1 was found to be transcriptionally regulated by YY1 and to directly by to MYH9 to promote the proliferation of LUAD cells in vitro and in vivo.ConclusionsFGL1 is involved in the immunological and proliferative regulation of LUAD cells by controlling the secretion of important immune-related cytokines via the YY1–FGL1–MYH9 axis. Hence, targeting FGL1 in LUAD may pave the way for the development of new immunotherapies for tackling this malignancy.

In the study of chemical graph theory, an enormous number of research analyses have confirmed that the characteristics of chemicals have a nearby connection with their atomic structure. Topological indices were the critical tools for the analysis of these chemical substances to consider the essential topology of chemical structures. Topological descriptors are the significant numerical quantities or invariant in the fields of chemical graph theory. In this study, we have studied the crystal structure of copper oxide (Cu2O{{\rm{Cu}}}_{2}{\rm{O}}) chemical graph, and further, we have calculated the ev-degree- and ve-degree-based topological indices of copper oxide chemical graph. This kind of study may be useful for understanding the atomic mechanisms of corrosion and stress–corrosion cracking of copper.

YBa2Cu3O7-δ(YBCO) bulk material prepared by high temperature solid state reaction was milled and dispersed through ultrasonic process in ethanol to prepare nanoscale YBCO/ethanol sol. Then it was mixed with aniline or O-phenylenediamine and the organic/YBCO hybrid materials were obtained after concentration and being dried in vacuum. The influence of the organic on YBCO’s chemical composition, phase, elemental valence and magnetic properties was studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM). The results show that the infrared absorption of YBCO is not affected by the aniline or O-phenylenediamine within 0.05%-5%(mass fraction, the same below), however the intensity of the XRD peaks is significantly increased. The interaction between the N atom in aniline or O-phenylenediamine and the Y atom in YBCO is stronger compared with N-Ba or N-Cu. The superconducting transition temperature Tc and magnetization M of YBCO are significantly affected by the content of N element in the hybrid materials. When the content of N element exceeds 1%, Tc is significantly decreased and Mmin is increased accordingly.

Photocurable coal-series kaolin slurry was prepared based on photocurable resin system. The rheological properties of the slurry were characterized by a rheometer. The effect of dispersant and plasticizer addition on the rheological properties of the slurry was studied. The results show that oleic acid as a dispersant has the effect of reducing the viscosity of the slurry. When the mass fraction of oleic acid added is 1% of the kaolin powder, the viscosity of the slurry is the lowest, while the viscosity of the 40%(volume fraction) kaolin slurry is 49.56 Pa·s. Adding plasticizer PEG-300 can further reduce the viscosity of the slurry. The viscosity of the slurry decreases with the addition of plasticizer. When the plasticizer is added in the mass fraction of 20% of the photosensitive resin, the viscosity of the slurry decreases to 19.77 Pa·s, at which the requirement for good recoating is well met. The slurry with optimized rheological properties is formed in a stereolithography apparatus. After debinding and sintering, kaolin ceramics with complex shape are obtained.

With green development advocated globally, China has firstly proposed a goal of carbon neutrality and carbon peak. Based on sustainable development theory, signal transmission theory, information asymmetry theory and stakeholder theory, this paper had used the data of 638 A-share listed companies in China from 2018 to 2020 to empirically analysed the relationship between ESG information disclosure quality and firm value. The study had concluded that the ESG quality is positively correlated with firm value. Although the impact of environment (E) and society (S) on firm value is greater than that of governance (G), the improvement of ESG split indicators will increase firm value. Finally, this paper had put forward suggestions for the firms and the government respectively.

Polysulfide/iodide redox flow batteries are promising due to low cost and high-solubility components, but are limited by energy efficiency and power density. Here the authors fabricate heterojunction electrocatalysts to achieve improved performance in a polysulfide/iodide redox flow battery.

BACKGROUND: Interest in modifiable risk factors (MRFs) for dementia is high, given the personal, social, and economic impact of the disorder, especially in ageing societies such as the United Kingdom. Exploring the population attributable fraction (PAF) of dementia attributable to MRFs and how this may have changed over time remains unclear. Unravelling the temporal dynamics of MRFs is crucial for informing the development of evidence-based and effective public health policies. This investigation examined the temporal trajectories of MRFs for dementia in England. METHODS: We used data from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, a panel study over eight waves collected between 2004 and 2019 (76,904 interviews in total). We calculated the PAFs for twelve MRFs (including six early- to mid-life factors and six late-life factors), as recommended by the Lancet Commission, and the individual weighted PAFs (IW-PAFs) for each risk factor. Temporal trends were analysed to understand the changes in the overall PAF and IW-PAF over the study period. Subgroup analyses were conducted by sex and socioeconomic status (SES). RESULTS: The overall PAF for dementia MRFs changed from 46.73% in 2004/2005 to 36.79% in 2018/2019, though this trend was not statistically significant. During 2004-2019, hypertension, with an average IW-PAF of 8.21%, was the primary modifiable determinant of dementia, followed by obesity (6.16%), social isolation (5.61%), hearing loss (4.81%), depression (4.72%), low education (4.63%), physical inactivity (3.26%), diabetes mellitus (2.49%), smoking (2.0%), excessive alcohol consumption (1.16%), air pollution (0.42%), and traumatic brain injury (TBI) (0.26%). During 2004-2019, only IW-PAFs of low education, social isolation, and smoking showed significant decreasing trends, while IW-PAFs of other factors either did not change significantly or increased (including TBI, diabetes mellitus, and air pollution). Upon sex-specific disaggregation, a higher overall PAF for MRFs was found among women, predominantly associated with later-life risk factors, most notably social isolation, depression, and physical inactivity. Additionally, hearing loss, classified as an early- to mid-life factor, played a supplementary role in the identified sex disparity. A comparable discrepancy was evident upon PAF evaluation by SES, with lower income groups experiencing a higher dementia risk, largely tied to later-life factors such as social isolation, physical inactivity, depression, and smoking. Early- to mid-life factors, in particular, low education and obesity, were also observed to contribute to the SES-associated divergence in dementia risk. Temporal PAF and IW-PAF trends, stratified by sex and SES, revealed that MRF PAF gaps across sex or SES categories have persisted or increased. CONCLUSIONS: In England, there was little change over time in the proportion of dementia attributable to known modifiable risk factors. The observed trends underscore the continuing relevance of these risk factors and the need for targeted public health strategies to address them.
