In order to improve stability of environment monitoring system and save system's resource, the paper proposed a design scheme of environment monitoring system composed by lower computer, transmission network and upper computer. It introduced design of hardware and software of the lower computer in the system in details. The hardware of the lower computer takes ARM9 processor S3C2410 as core, its software uses multi-thread application program to process multi-task at the same time and uses semaphore and mutex to realize synchronization among threads. The actual application showed that the system runs stably and improves system efficiency.

Based on 57 years (1957-2013) daily precipitation datasets of the 85 meteorological stations in the Loess Plateau region, different spatial interpolation methods, including ordinary krig-ing (OK), inverse distance weighting (IDW) and radial-based function (BBF), were conducted to analyze the spatial variation of annual average precipitation regionally. Meanwhile, the mean absolute error (MAE), the root mean square error (BMSE), the accuracy (AC) and the Pearson correlation coefficient (R) were compared among the interpolation results in order to quantify the effects of different interpolation methods on spatial variation of the annual average precipitation. The results showed that the Moran's I index was 0.67 for the 57 years annual average precipitation in the Loess Plateau region. Meteorological stations exhibited strong spatial correlation. The validation results of the 63 training stations and 22 test stations indicated that there were significant correlations between the training and test values among different interpolation methods. However, the RMSE (IDW = 51.49, BBF = 43.79) and MAE (IDW = 38.98, BBF = 34.61) of the IDW and the BBF showed higher values than the OK. In addition, the comparison of the four semi-variagram models (Circular, Spherical, Exponential and Gaussian) for the OK indicated that the circular model had the lowest MAE (32.34) and the highest accuracy (0.976), while the MAE of the exponential model was the highest (33.24). In conclusion, comparing the validation between the training data and test results of the different spatial interpolation methods, the circular model of the OK method was the best one for obtaining accurate spatial interpolation of annual average precipitation in the Loess Plateau region. By using 24 landscape metrics, this paper evaluated the urban heat island effect in parts of Beijing downtown area. QuickBird (QB) images were used to extract the landscape type information, and the thermal bands from Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+ ) images were used to extract the land surface temperature (LST) in four seasons of the same year. The 24 landscape pattern metrics were calculated at landscape and class levels in a fixed window with 120 m× 120 m in size, with the applicability of these traditional landscape metrics in evaluating the urban heat island effect examined. Among the 24 landscape metrics, only the percentage composition of landscape (PLAND), patch density (PD), largest patch index (LPI), coefficient of Euclidean nearest-neighbor distance variance (ENN_CV), and landscape division index (DIVISION) at landscape level were significantly correlated with the LST in March, May, and November, and the PLAND, LPI, DIVISION, percentage of like adjacencies, and interspersion and juxtaposition index at class level showed significant correlations with the LST in March, May, July, and December, especially in July. Some metrics such as PD, edge density, clumpiness index, patch cohesion index, effective mesh size, splitting index, aggregation index, and normalized landscape shape index showed varying correlations with the LST at different class levels. The traditional landscape metrics could not be appropriate in evaluating the effects of river on LST, while some of the metrics could be useful in characterizing urban LST and analyzing the urban heat island effect, but screening and examining should be made on the metrics. Taking the 20 urban park wetlands in Beijing as test objects, a 3-layer evaluation index system including urban park wetland landscape quality, location condition, and accessibility for the recreational attraction of urban bark wetlands was established, and, by using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and an integrating index evaluation method, the recreational attraction of the urban park wetlands in Beijing was quantitatively assessed, and validated with questionnaire data. In Beijing, the urban park wetlands with high recreational attraction were in the order of the Summer Palace, Olympic Park, Qinglong Lake Park, Beihai Park, Yuanmingyuan Park, Yuyuantan Park, Shidu, Golden Sea Lake scenic area, Taoranting Park, and Yeyahu wetland. The Rice Fragrance Lake wetland and Zhenzhuhu scenic area had the lowest recreational attraction, and the others were fair. The evaluation results were supported by the questionnaire data, which indicated that the index system and evaluation model were useful. According to the recreational services, the 20 park wetlands in Beijing could be clustered into four categories, which could be managed in different ways. Appropriately assessing the recreational services of urban park wetlands could help the decision-making on the urban parks optimal planning and designing, improve human living environment, and optimize the spatial distribution of urban landscape. Soil fauna has close relations with various environmental factors in soil ecosystem. To explore the interrelationships between soil fauna and soil environmental factors is of vital importance to deep understand the dynamics of soil ecosystem and to assess the functioning of the ecosystem. The environmental factors affecting soil fauna can be classified as soil properties and soil external environment. The former contains soil basic physical and chemical properties, soil moisture, and soil pollution. The latter includes vegetation, land use type, landform, and climate, etc. From these aspects, this paper summarized the published literatures in China on the interrelationships between soil fauna and soil environmental factors. It was considered that several problems were existed in related studies, e.g., fewer researches were made in integrating soil fauna's bio-indicator function, research methods were needed to be improved, and the studies on the multi-environmental factors and their large scale spatial-temporal variability were in deficiency. Corresponding suggestions were proposed, i.e.,more work should be done according to the practical needs, advanced experiences from abroad should be referenced, and comprehensive studies on multi-environmental factors and long-term monitoring should be conducted on large scale areas. Based on the 10-day SPOT VEGETATION NDVI data and the daily meteorological data from 1998 to 2007 in Yan'an City, the main meteorological variables affecting the annual and inter?annual variations of NDVI were determined by using regression tree. It was found that the effects of test meteorological variables on the variability of NDVI differed with seasons and time lags. Temperature and precipitation were the most important meteorological variables affecting the annual variation of NDVI, and the average highest temperature was the most important meteorological variable affecting the inter-annual variation of NDVI. Regression tree was very powerful in determining the key meteorological variables affecting NDVI variation, but could not build quantitative relations between NDVI and meteorological variables, which limited its further and wider application. Freshwater ecosystem provides a variety of services to humanity, and in return, human activities give strong stress on the services, particularly in urban area. It is of significance to study the impact of human occupation and stress on freshwater ecosystem. In this paper, a water equivalent method was used to calculate the human occupation on the freshwater ecosystem services in Beijing from 1998 to 2007, and assessed the human stress effect on the freshwater ecosystem, based on the total amount of water resources. In the past 10 years, the water equivalent of human activities in Beijing was about 5 to 17 times larger than the supply of the freshwater ecosystem. The water equivalent of the ecosystem services was decreased in the order of water environment purification > water resources supply > water habitat maintenance > water safety regulation. The gap between the consumption and the supply of freshwater ecosystem services had a trend of increasing to decreasing from 1998 to 2007, with the largest gap occurred in 1999. This study revealed that there was a huge gap between the consumption and the supply of freshwater ecosystem services in Beijing, which would inevitably result in the overloading occupation of the water resources in the City and give stress to the other regions. The main objective of establishing natural reserve is to protect its natural resources from human disturbances and maintain its critical ecological service values. This paper introduced the concept of hemeroby, and by using remote sensing technology, systematically assessed the dynamic changes of landscape pattern and eco-disturbance degree in Shuangtai estuary wetland of Liaoning Province, China. Firstly, a knowledge-based expert system was used to classify the landscape into three first-level types based on eco-disturbance degree, i.e., undisturbed, partially disturbed, or completely disturbed, which were further classified into 30 second-level categories. Secondly, questionnaire and experts knowledge were adopted to determine the hemeroby index for each landscape type and to formulate a landscape classification system. Finally, the landscape classification maps and hemeroby indices were derived by using the Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM)/Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) data acquired on 30 April 1987, 7 June 1995, 12 June 2000, and 11 October 2006. The results indicated that from 1987 to 2006, the landscape patches in the study area became more fragmented, being most obvious for reed marsh. Undisturbed landscape type decreased in area, while partially and completely disturbed types were in adverse. The overall characteristics of the spatial distribution of hemeroby index were of most variable in the areas along the river and surrounding the estuary and being the highest in the areas surrounding the city, largely due to the rapid urbanization and the blooming fishery in the study area. By using fumigation extract (FE) method and Biolog Ecoplate, this paper investigated the microbial biomass and diversity in 0-20 cm soil layer under five vegetation types, including artificial woodland, shrubland, cropland, abandoned farmland, and natural grassland, in Dingxi of Gansu Province. In the meanwhile, the relationships between soil microbes and soil nutrients were studied by path analysis, and the five typical vegetation types were evaluated from the aspect of soil microbes. Relative to cropland, "grain for green" project played a key role in improving soil microbial resources. Microbial biomass carbon was the highest in ridge grassland, abandoned farmland, and pine woodland, followed by in Caragana korshinskii land, Medicago sativa land, restored land, and roadside land, and in wheat field and potato field. Microbial biomass nitrogen was the highest in ridge land, abandoned farmland, Pinus tabulaeformis woodland, Caragana korshinskii land, and Medicago sativa land, followed by in restored land and roadside land, and in wheat field and potato field. Caragana korshinskii land and Medicago sativa land, due to the existence of N fixing rhizobium, had the highest ratio of soil microbial biomass nitrogen to soil total nitrogen. Owing to the continual biomass loss and rare feedback, cropland had the lowest quantity and activity of soil microbes. Through planting trees, shrubs and grasses or through fallowing, soil microbial biomass and activity were recovered, and the effect was increased with time. In 20-year old Caragana korshinskii land, the quantity and activity of soil microbes were similar to those in 50-year old Pinus tabulaeformis woodland, and the microbial community catabolic activity and soil nutrient use efficiency were higher. Vertical gradient of mountain landscape is about 1000 times of its horizontal gradient, and hence, only using landscape pattern index is quite difficult to reflect the landscape regularity along vertical gradient. Mountain altitudinal belt is a kind of classic geographic models representing the vertical differentiation of landscape, being of significance in geographic and ecological researches. However, the discrete expression pattern and the inaccuracy of the borderlines of mountain vertical belts limit the roles of mountain vertical belt in accurately describing landscape pattern in regional scale and in explaining ecological processes. This paper reviewed the research progress and existing problems on mountain altitudinal belt, put forward a suggestion of using modern information technology to establish a comprehensive and continuous mountain landscape information chart, and discussed the framework and prospect of the establishment of the chart, which would have reference value for accurately describing mountain landscape pattern and explaining specific ecological processes, and promote the further improvement of the methodology for mountain ecological research. Based on the land use change data and by using 137Cs tracer technique, this paper studied the change process of soil erosion intensity in Yangjuangou watershed in Loess Hilly Region. Since the 1980's, the land use intensity in the watershed decreased gradually. In 1980-2006, the slope arable land decreased from 94.9 hm2 to 0.2 hmb2, while the forest land, shrub land, orchard land, and grassland increased from 0 to 51.1 hm2, from 0 to 19.2 hm2, from 0 to 18.0 hm2, and from 76.9 hm2 to 80.1 hmb2, respectively. The soil erosion intensity was in the order of slope arable land > shrub land > orchard land > grass land > forest land. In 1980, 1984, 1996, and 2006, the soil erosion intensity was 6408.9, 5362.4, 4903.9, and 3641.4 t · km-2 · a-1, respectively, being changed from intense to moderate. Abstract: The spatial variation of soil nutrients in topsoil (0-20cm) was analyzed using semivariogram in the Zunhua County of Hebei Province, China. The effect on semivariogram with randomly deleted data and kriged estimates using various reduced sample sizes was also analyzed. The semivariograms of available N, total N, available P, organic matter were best described by a spherical model, except for available K, which best fitted a complex structure of exponential model and linear with sill model. The ratio of nugget to total sample variance ranged from 34.4% to 68.4%, indicating the spatial correlation of tested soil nutrients on a large scale was moderately dependent. Among five soil nutrients, available nitrogen and available phosphorus had the shortest spatial correlation range (5 km and 5.5 km), available K had the longest range (25.5 km), whereas total nitrogen and organic matter had intermediate spatial correlation range (14.5 km and 8.5 km). The semivariograms of available N, total N, available P, and organic matter were insensitive to a 50%-60% reduction in original sampling density, while for available K, it is up to 70%. The estimated spatial distributions of total N by kriging, under various reduced sample sizes, all correlated significantly (P = 0.001) with those obtained from original data. The results showed that the semivariogram was a relatively robust tool when used in a large region and sufficient spatial variation information could be retained regardless of a higher deletion proportion of the original data. The original sample data could be reduced by kriging and the estimates showed no loss of spatial information, however, the results may be unreliable unless a clearly identified semivariogram model could be obtained. Rapid urbanization would have significant impacts on vegetation phenology. However, the factors influencing the spatiotemporal changes in urban vegetation phenology are still unclear. We used five fitting methods to construct normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) curves in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, and obtained the phenology characteristics of urban vegetation in this area from 2001 to 2019 by the threshold method. We compared the spring and autumn phenology in urban built-up areas and hilly areas, and analyzed the effects of precipitation, air temperature, and land surface temperature (LST) on vegetation phenology. The results showed that from 2001 to 2019, the start of the growing season (SOS) in urban built-up areas in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei agglomeration was on average 16.88 days earlier than that in hilly areas, and that the end of the growing season (EOS) in urban built-up areas was 12.22 days later than that in hilly areas. During the study period, the SOS of vegetation in urban built-up areas of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region had been gradually delayed, while that in hilly areas was gradually advanced, and the rate of change of phenology in the urban built-up areas was faster than that in the hilly areas. The difference between the SOS of the two areas decreased significantly over time (-0.58 d·a -1 ). As for the EOS, the urban built-up areas and hilly areas both showed a trend of delayed, but the differences between them was not significant with time (-0.10 d·a -1 ). The contribution of LST in the urban built-up areas to SOS was close to that of air temperature, while the contribution of LST in hilly areas to SOS was only 1/2 of that of air temperature, indicating that the heat island effect and air temperature within the city jointly influenced urban vegetation phenology, and their contributions were almost equal. The results could help understand the role of urbanization in the variations of vegetation phenology and provide a reference for further assessment of carbon sink potential of urban vegetation.

Urban ecological quality is a necessary attribute for a healthy urban ecological state. In the period of urban development from large-scale incremental construction to stock improvement and quality transformation and incremental structural adjustment, there are many gaps between urban ecological quality construction and the requirements of the new stage. There is an urgent need to understand and integrate multiple needs, and construct an indicator system to promote the balance between supply and demand of ecological resources and efficient use to enhance urban ecological quality. We used the analysis methods of CiteSpace literature analysis, relevant policy collation and questionnaire survey to systematically sort out the key points of concern and differences in understanding among the three perspectives of science, government, and the public. The results showed that all the three perspectives, i.e. , science, government, and public, were more concerned with indicators related to urban green space, gray infrastructure, and policy control. The concerns of science and public addressed indicators related to urban green space the most, while government being most concerned with indicators related to gray infrastructure. Based on those findings, we developed a core urban ecological quality index system with a total of 25 indicators, covering 10 major types of urban green space, environmental quality, gray infrastructure, and so on.
