1. FlightPatchNet: Multi-Scale Patch Network with Differential Coding for Flight Trajectory Prediction

Abstract

Accurate multi-step flight trajectory prediction plays an important role in Air Traffic Control, which can ensure the safety of air transportation. Two main issues limit the flight trajectory prediction performance of existing works. The first issue is the negative impact on prediction accuracy caused by the significant differences in data range. The second issue is that real-world flight trajectories involve underlying temporal dependencies, and existing methods fail to reveal the hidden complex temporal variations and only extract features from one single time scale. To address the above issues, we propose FlightPatchNet, a multi-scale patch network with differential coding for flight trajectory prediction. Specifically, FlightPatchNet first utilizes the differential coding to encode the original values of longitude and latitude into first-order differences and generates embeddings for all variables at each time step. Then, a global temporal attention is introduced to explore the dependencies between different time steps. To fully explore the diverse temporal patterns in flight trajectories, a multi-scale patch network is delicately designed to serve as the backbone. The multi-scale patch network exploits stacked patch mixer blocks to capture inter- and intra-patch dependencies under different time scales, and further integrates multi-scale temporal features across different scales and variables. Finally, FlightPatchNet ensembles multiple predictors to make direct multi-step prediction. Extensive experiments on ADS-B datasets demonstrate that our model outperforms the competitive baselines.

Abstract

In order to optimize the design of high-altitude sprinkling system of fire-fighting aircraft, it is necessary to establish a model reflecting the high-altitude spraying and distribution mechanism of mass fire extinguishing bags during the flight. Based on the discrete element method and the computational fluid dynamics method, a high-altitude spraying and distributing model of aircraft mass fire extinguishing bags is established, and the spraying characteristics and landing area distribution at different flight speeds and altitudes are obtained. The model is verified by experiments. The deviations between simulated landing distribution and experimental data are less than 20.0%. The research results provide a theoretical model for the development of aircraft high altitude fire extinguishing system, so as to significantly improve the fire extinguishing performance of aircraft spraying system.

6. Analysis of the influencing factors and spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of telemedicine service supply: Empirical evidence from pilot cities in China

Abstract

Background Telemedicine is one of the major trends in the evolution of modern medicine. Telemedicine encompasses a wide range of services with different characteristics. Healthcare organisations know limited information on developing and utilising different types of telemedicine service programmes as well as factors and spatial and temporal characteristics that influence their development. Objective To analyse the factors influencing the development of telemedicine, and to explore the priority order of different telemedicine services carried out by healthcare institutions, as well as the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics. Methods This study selected Zunyi City, a national pilot city for telemedicine in China, and employed multinomial logistic regression to analyse factors influencing the provision of different types of telemedicine service programmes by healthcare institutions and evaluate the spatial and temporal evolutionary characteristics of spatially visualised telemedicine service programmes. Results When the price of services increased, providers were more inclined to conduct teleconsultation (OR: 1.023) and telepathology (OR: 1.058) than tele-imaging, and the willingness to conduct telecardiology (OR: 0.775) and telemetry (OR: 0.997) was relatively low. Patients’ out-of-pocket payments increased, and providers’ willingness to conduct teleconsultations (OR: 49.401) and telepathology (OR: 5.039) increased. Healthcare organisations at higher level were more willing to carry out teleconsultation (OR: 14.052), telepathology (OR: 8.071) and telemetry (OR: 13.113). Compared with private hospitals, public hospitals were 17.760, 12.248 and 87.860 times more likely to conduct teleconsultations, telecardiology and telepathology than tele-imaging. The effectiveness of telemedicine development may be related to the level of local economic development. Conclusion Medical institutions carry out telemedicine service programmes with a certain order of priority. Their decisions are often influenced by various factors such as price, out-of-pocket payment ratio and level and attribute of the healthcare organisation. The development of telemedicine may follow an inverted ‘U’ pattern with the level of regional economic development.

17. Accelerated Hydrothermal Aging and Degradation Mechanism of PE100 Butt-Fusion Welded Joint.

Abstract

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipelines are extensively utilized in energy transportation in the ocean. However, long-term exposure to water can alter the performance of HDPE, potentially leading to pipeline accidents. This study focuses on simulating the aging characteristics of PE100 polyethylene pipeline butt-fusion welded joints (B-FWJs) in water using hydrothermal accelerated aging experiments at various temperature gradients. The performance of the B-FWJ after hydrothermal aging was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), oxidation induction time (OIT), attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR FT-IR) spectroscopy, and mechanical testing. Furthermore, this study analyzed the performance characteristics and changes in the micro-molecular chains of an HDPE B-FWJ pipeline following hydrothermal aging. An investigation was conducted into the effects of hydrothermal aging temperature and duration on the physical and chemical characteristics of HDPE B-FWJ, and the aging mechanism under hydrothermal aging conditions was explored. The results indicate that increasing hydrothermal aging temperature leads to a more significant decrease in the mechanical properties of the B-FWJ. These findings contribute to understanding the aging behavior of PE100 pipelines in the joint section and offer insights to mitigate the risks associated with the aging of and damage to B-FWJ pipelines in the ocean. Abstract

This paper summarized the influence factors and adjustment methods for dislocation of tip of the totally implantable venous-access ports(TIVAPs)in the jugular vein after placement through the veins of right upper limb and related adjustment method. Factors causing the dislocation of TIVAP tip included inappropriate placement, lack of experience and issues associated with internal jugular vein lumen. It is suggested that improvement measures such as changing body position, adopting compression repair, modifying placement method, intracavitary electrocardiogram and vascular intervention should be carried out to prevent the dislocation of tip of TIVAPs in the jugular vein. Abstract

Energy consumption has risen much more while the economy has expanded so quickly. As a result, significant environmental contamination is created, which causes public worry. Under this background, enhancing energy efficiency and lowering pollution is particularly crucial for the fulfillment of sustainable economic development. Efficiency evaluation for energy and environment is an effective measure to achieve both energy saving and emission reduction as well as sustainable social development. In this paper, energy and environmental efficiency consists of energy utilization efficiency and pollution treatment efficiency. An improved two‐stage DEA model is proposed, which takes into account how stochastic and environmental factors affect decision‐making units (DMUs). Finally, the author analyses the panel data of 15 cities in Southwest China from 2010 to 2018, which proves the feasibility and effectiveness of this study. The results show Southwest China's poor energy and environmental efficiency as well as the stark differences among its cities. The scientific value revealed by this paper is as follows: (1) for the study of energy and environmental efficiency, this paper is more targeted at the differences between cities and (2) using an improved two‐stage DEA model to consider the effects of stochastic factors on DMUs. 50. Genome Analysis of Pseudomonas viciae G166 Conferring Antifungal Activity in Grapevine.

Abstract

Grapevine (Vitis vinifera) is one of the major economic fruit crops but suffers many diseases, causing damage to the quality of grapes. Strain G166 was isolated from the rhizosphere of grapevine and was found to exhibited broad-spectrum antagonistic activities against fungal pathogens on grapes in vitro, such as Coniella diplodiella, Botrytis cinerea, and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Whole-genome sequencing revealed that G166 contained a 6,613,582 bp circular chromosome with 5749 predicted coding DNA sequences and an average GC content of 60.57%. TYGS analysis revealed that G166 belongs to Pseudomonas viciae. Phenotype analysis indicated that P. viciae G166 remarkably reduced the severity of grape white rot disease in the grapevine. After inoculation with C. diplodiella, more H2O2 and MDA accumulated in the leaves and resulted in decreases in the Pn and chlorophyll content. Conversely, G166-treated grapevine displayed less oxidative damage with lower H2O2 levels and MDA contents under the pathogen treatments. Subsequently, G166-treated grapevine could sustain a normal Pn and chlorophyll content. Moreover, the application of P. viciae G166 inhibited the growth of mycelia on detached leaves and berries, while more disease symptoms occurred in non-bacterized leaves and berries. Therefore, P. viciae G166 served as a powerful bioagent against grape white rot disease. Using antiSMASH prediction and genome comparisons, a relationship between non-ribosomal peptide synthase clusters and antifungal activity was found in the genome of P. viciae G166.
