Abstract

We studied the magnetic properties of YCu$_3$(OH)$_6$Br$_2$[Br$_{1-x}$(OH)$_{x}$] ($x$ = 0.33), where Cu$^{2+}$ ions form two-dimensional kagome layers. There is no magnetic order down to 50 mK while the Curie-Weiss temperature is on the order of -100 K. At zero magnetic field, the low-temperature specific heat shows a $T^2$ dependence. Above 2 T, a linear temperature dependence term in specific heat emerges, and the value of $\gamma = C/T$ increases linearly with the field. Furthermore, the magnetic susceptibility tends to a constant value at $T = 0$. Our results suggest that the magnetic ground state of YCu$_3$(OH)$_6$Br$_2$[Br$_{1-x}$(OH)$_{x}$] is consistent with a Dirac quantum-spin-liquid state with a linearly dispersing spinon strongly coupled to an emergent gauge field, which has long been theoretically proposed as a candidate ground state in the two-dimensional kagome Heisenberg antiferromagnetic system., Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures

Abstract

We study the mass spectra of the $N\Omega$ dibaryons in the $^{3}S_1$ and $^{5}S_2$ channels with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ and $2^{+}$ respectively, by using the method of QCD sum rules. We construct two dibaryon interpolating currents in the molecular picture and calculate their correlation functions and spectral densities up to dimension-16 condensates. Our results indicate that there may exist an $N\Omega$ dibaryon bound state in the $^{5}S_2$ channel with a binding energy of about $21\ \mathrm{MeV}$. The masses of the $^{3}S_1$ $N\Omega$ dibaryons with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ are predicted to be higher than the $N\Omega$ and $\Lambda\Xi$ thresholds, and thus can decay into these final states directly in S-wave. The $N\Omega (^{5}S_2)$ dibaryon bound state can decay into the octet-octet final states $\Lambda\Xi$ and $\Sigma\Xi$ in D-wave via the quark rearrangement mechanism. The existence of these $N\Omega$ dibaryons may be identified in the relativistic heavy-ion collision experiments in the future., Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures. Published in Physical Review D

Abstract

We investigate the exotic $\Omega\Omega$ dibaryon states with $J^P=0^+$ and $2^+$ in a molecular picture. We construct the scalar and tensor $\Omega$$\Omega$ molecular interpolating currents and calculate their masses within the method of QCD sum rules. Our results indicate that the mass of the scalar dibaryon state is $m_{\Omega\Omega, \, 0^+}=(3.33\pm0.22) \,\unit$, which is about $15 \,\mathrm{MeV}$ below the $2m_\Omega$ threshold. This result suggests the existence of a loosely bound molecular state of the $J^P=0^+$ scalar $\Omega\Omega$ dibaryon with a small binding energy around 15 MeV. The mass of the tensor dibaryon is predicted to be $m_{\Omega\Omega,\, 2^+}=(3.24\pm0.23)\, \mbox{GeV}$, which may imply a deeper molecular state of the tensor $\Omega\Omega$ dibaryon than the scalar channel. 37. Activation of β3-adrenergic receptor by mirabegron prevents aortic dissection/aneurysm by promoting lymphangiogenesis in perivascular adipose tissue.

Abstract

Aims β3-Adrenergic receptor (β3-AR) is essential for cardiovascular homoeostasis through regulating adipose tissue function. Perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of aortic dissection and aneurysm (AD/AA). Here, we aim to investigate β3-AR activation-mediated PVAT function in AD/AA. Methods and results Aortas from patients with thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) were collected to detect β3-AR expression in PVAT. ApoE−/− and β-aminopropionitrile monofumarate (BAPN)-treated C57BL/6 mice were induced with Angiotensin II (AngII) to simulate AD/AA and subsequently received either placebo or mirabegron, a β3-AR agonist. The results demonstrated an up-regulation of β3-AR in PVAT of TAD patients and AD/AA mice. Moreover, activation of β3-AR by mirabegron significantly prevented AngII-induced AD/AA formation in mice. RNA-sequencing analysis of adipocytes from PVAT revealed a notable increase of the lymphangiogenic factor, vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C), in mirabegron-treated mice. Consistently, enhanced lymphangiogenesis was found in PVAT with mirabegron treatment. Mechanistically, the number of CD4+/CD8+ T cells and CD11c+ cells was reduced in PVAT but increased in adjacent draining lymph nodes of mirabegron-treated mice, indicating the improved draining and clearance of inflammatory cells in PVAT by lymphangiogenesis. Importantly, adipocyte-specific VEGF-C knockdown by the adeno-associated virus system restrained lymphangiogenesis and exacerbated inflammatory cell infiltration in PVAT, which ultimately abolished the protection of mirabegron on AD/AA. In addition, the conditional medium derived from mirabegron-treated adipocytes activated the proliferation and tube formation of LECs, which was abrogated by the silencing of VEGF-C in adipocytes. Conclusion Our findings illustrated the therapeutic potential of β3-AR activation by mirabegron on AD/AA, which promoted lymphangiogenesis by increasing adipocyte-derived VEGF-C and, therefore, ameliorated PVAT inflammation. 43. Enhancing the Built-in Electric Field in Oxygen Vacancies-Enriched I-Doped Bi3O4Cl for Visible Light-Driven Photocatalytic Oxidation

Abstract

In semiconductor catalysts, rational doping of nonmetallic elements holds significant scientific and technological importance for enhancing photocatalytic performance. Here, using a one-step hydrothermal technique, we synthesized iodine-doped Bi3O4Cl composite and evaluated the impact of iodine doping on its photocatalytic capability for organic dye degradation under visible light irradiation. In this study, we demonstrate that the introduction of iodide ions not only provides an ideal built-in electric field (BIEF) for Bi3O4Cl but also induces the generation of additional oxygen vacancies (OVs). The significantly enhanced BIEF, along with the collaborative effect of the OVs-induced narrow bandgap in Bi3O4Cl, effectively promotes the separation and transfer efficiency of photogenerated charges while suppressing recombination. Under this driving force, photogenerated electrons transfer to the surface OVs, facilitating the activation of surface oxygen, thereby forming highly active superoxide radicals (•O2). Simultaneously, oxygen vacancy engineering can reduce the reaction energy barrier, thereby facilitating the formation of singlet oxygen (1O2), which contributes significantly to photocatalytic processes. The results indicate that under visible light, the prepared iodine-doped Bi3O4Cl exhibits a 6.5-fold increase in the degradation rate constant for rhodamine B and demonstrates enhanced photocatalytic activity toward methyl orange and methylene blue. This study not only provides strong references for optimizing structural design to enhance photocatalytic performance but also offers profound insights into the synergistic effects of BIEF and OVs on charge transfer mechanisms in photocatalytic systems.
