We report a real-time method to determine the size, i.e. diameter, and refractive index of single gold nanoparticles using an optofluidic chip, which consists of a quasi-Bessel beam optical chromatography. The tightly focused (~ 0.5 μm) quasi-Bessel beam with low divergence (NA ~ 0.04) was used to trap sub-100 nm gold nanoparticles within a long trapping distance of 140 μm. In the experiment, 60 to 100 nm gold nanoparticles were separated efficiently with at least 18 μm. The diameter and refractive index (real and imaginary) of single gold nanoparticles were measured at high resolutions with respect to the trapping distance, i.e. 0.36 nm/μm, 0.003/μm and 0.0016/μm, respectively. Objective: To summarize the application of radial artery (RA) as the second arterial graft in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods: From January 1, 2015 to June 11, 2019, the clinical data of all patients undergoing CABG in TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital was retrospectively reviewed. The patients who underwent RA grafting were included. The application of RA, internal mammary artery (IMA) and the saphenous vein, their target vessels, and the operative results were analyzed. Results: A total of 2 901 patients underwent CABG. Of those, 208 patients (7.2%) had RA grafting, with 197 males and 11 females. The average age was (53±8) years old and the average grafts per patient was 3.79. The target vessel for RA was first obtuse marginal (OM, 102 cases), first diagonal (50 cases), right coronary artery (RCA) or posterior descending artery (PDA) (40 cases), intermediate (22 cases), respectively. Among those, 172 were single distal anastomosis with the proximal end anastomosed to the ascending aorta (168 cases), saphenous vein (SV) graft (3 cases) and IMA (1 case). Seventy-two patients accept sequential grafting with the proximal to the ascending aorta (58 cases), SV graft (13 cases) and IMA (1 case). The left IMA was mainly anastomosed to left descending artery (LAD) (188 cases) and diagonal (10 cases). The target vessels for SV were remaining coronary arteries when the IMA and RA were used. The operative time was (5.0±1.5) h. The hospital stay was (17.4±6.4) d. There were 6 cases undergoing exploratory thoracotomy for bleeding (5 cases) or hemodynamic instability due to ventricular arrhythmia (1 case). There was no death. All patients were successfully discharged. Conclusions: Use of the RA and IMA with additional SV for CABG exhibits good results in the Chinese patients. Currently available clinical protocols are effective and safe.

Objective: To explore the clinical and teaching application value of virtual reality technology in preoperative planning and intraoperative guide of glioma located in central sulcus region. Method: Ten patients with glioma in the central sulcus region were proposed to surgical treatment. The neuro-imaging data, including CT, CTA, DSA, MRI, fMRI were input to 3dgo sczhry workstation for image fusion and 3D reconstruction. Spatial relationships between the lesions and the surrounding structures on the virtual reality image were obtained. These images were applied to the operative approach design, operation process simulation, intraoperative auxiliary decision and the training of specialist physician. Results: Intraoperative founding of 10 patients were highly consistent with preoperative simulation with virtual reality technology. Preoperative 3D reconstruction virtual reality images improved the feasibility of operation planning and operation accuracy. This technology had not only shown the advantages for neurological function protection and lesion resection during surgery, but also improved the training efficiency and effectiveness of dedicated physician by turning the abstract comprehension to virtual reality. Conclusion: Image fusion and 3D reconstruction based virtual reality technology in glioma resection is helpful for formulating the operation plan, improving the operation safety, increasing the total resection rate, and facilitating the teaching and training of the specialist physician.

ZnO was grown on sapphire substrate by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition using the diethylzinc (DEZn) and oxygen (O(2)) as source chemicals at 500 degrees C. Influences of the chamber pressure and O(2)/DEZn ratio on the ZnO structural properties were discussed. It was found that the chamber pressure has significant effects on the morphology of ZnO and could result in various structures of ZnO including pyramid-like, worm-like, and columnar grain. When the chamber pressure was kept at 10 Torr, the lowest full width at half-maximum of ZnO (002) of 175 arc second can be obtained. On the other hand, by lowering the DEZn flow rate, the crystal quality of ZnO can be improved. Under high DEZn flow rate, the ZnO nanowall-network structures were found to grow vertically on the sapphire substrate without using any metal catalysts. It suggests that higher DEZn flow rate promotes three-dimensional growth mode resulting in increased surface roughness. Therefore, some tip on the ZnO surface could act as nucleation site. In this work, the growth process of our ZnO nanowall networks is said to follow the self-catalyzed growth mechanism under high-DEZn flow rate.
