In recent years, hashing methods have been popular in the large-scale media search for low storage and strong representation capabilities. To describe objects with similar overall appearance but subtle differences, more and more studies focus on hashing-based fine-grained image retrieval. Existing hashing networks usually generate both local and global features through attention guidance on the same deep activation tensor, which limits the diversity of feature representations. To handle this limitation, we substitute convolutional descriptors for attention-guided features and propose an Attributes Grouping and Mining Hashing (AGMH), which groups and embeds the category-specific visual attributes in multiple descriptors to generate a comprehensive feature representation for efficient fine-grained image retrieval. Specifically, an Attention Dispersion Loss (ADL) is designed to force the descriptors to attend to various local regions and capture diverse subtle details. Moreover, we propose a Stepwise Interactive External Attention (SIEA) to mine critical attributes in each descriptor and construct correlations between fine-grained attributes and objects. The attention mechanism is dedicated to learning discrete attributes, which will not cost additional computations in hash codes generation. Finally, the compact binary codes are learned by preserving pairwise similarities. Experimental results demonstrate that AGMH consistently yields the best performance against state-of-the-art methods on fine-grained benchmark datasets.

This paper describes the RRMSE (Relative Root Mean Square Error) based weights to weight the occurrences of predictive values before averaging for the ensemble voting regression. The core idea behind ensemble regression is to combine several base regression models in order to improve the prediction performance in learning problems with a numeric continuous target variable. The default weights setting for the ensemble voting regression is uniform weights, and without domain knowledge of learning task, assigning weights for predictions are impossible, which makes it very difficult to improve the predictions. This work attempts to improve the prediction of voting regression by implementing the RRMSE based weighting function. Experiments show that RRMSE voting regressor produces significantly better predictions than other state-of-the-art ensemble regression algorithms on six popular regression learning datasets.

Multi-label classification is a type of classification task, it is used when there are two or more classes, and the data point we want to predict may belong to none of the classes or all of them at the same time. In the real world, many applications are actually multi-label involved, including information retrieval, multimedia content annotation, web mining, and so on. A game theory-based framework known as SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) has been applied to explain various supervised learning models without being aware of the exact model. Herein, this work further extends the explanation of multi-label classification task by using the SHAP methodology.
