[Purpose/Significance] In the ever-evolving realm of higher education, the pronounced significance of methodically evaluating talented people in scientific and technological (S&T) fields within academic institutions has risen to paramount importance. This research endeavors to intricately dissect the manifold factors of shaping the evaluation of talented people in Chinese colleges and universities. Simultaneously, it seeks to meticulously design a comprehensive indicator system custom-tailored to this unique milieu. The dual objective encompasses unraveling the intricate dynamics underpinning the evaluation of talented people in S&T fields and invigorating talent cultivation and igniting innovation in scientific research across the academic landscape. [Method/Process] Guided by a meticulous review of both domestic and international advancements in the domain of the evaluation of talented people in S&T fields in higher education, this paper diligently dissects the intricate interplay of systems, theories, methodologies, and evaluation frameworks within Chinese academic institutions. By meticulously addressing associated challenges, conducting extensive discourse on influential variables, and meticulously examining facets of S&T prowess assessment within universities, this study culminates in the construction of an evaluation indicator system tailored to the unique nature of institutions of Chinese higher education. [Results/Conclusions] The findings echo the existence of critical gaps in the ongoing evaluation of talented people in S&T fields within Chinese universities. These noteworthy limitations encapsulate the intricate equilibrium sought between objectivity and subjectivity, the imperative for indicators to be comprehensive yet operationally feasible, the mandate for assessment to be dynamic and timely, and the essentiality of embracing multi-dimensional evaluation. This compels us to chart a trajectory towards the future where the development of an evaluation system of talented people in S&T fields rests on the bedrock of data-driven and intelligent assessment paradigms. This envisioned system must incorporate multi-dimensional evaluation approaches, integrate behavioral assessment modalities, deploy dynamic evaluation mechanisms, and, equally, factor in dimensions of social influence, sustainability, and internationalization. As we navigate this academic journey, further empirical research and meticulous indicator validation exercises must be undertaken within the realm of the evaluation of talented people in S&T fields in Chinese higher education institutions. These empirical undertakings, by virtue of their in-depth insights, are poised to illuminate our path forward, serving as compasses guiding the development of talented people in S&T fields in China's academic sphere. The journey towards comprehensive evaluation necessitates data-driven intelligence, multifaceted assessment perspectives, and a clear alignment with the pulse of societal dynamics and global imperatives. The culmination of these efforts will invariably shape the trajectory of the progression of talented people in S&T fields, ensuring that they remain at the vanguard of innovation and advancement. In essence, the evaluation of talented people within Chinese higher education institutions is primed for an evolution characterized by acumen, innovation, and internationalization. Background: Stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) is an aggressive malignancy characterized by high tumor plasticity and heterogeneity. This study investigates the role of Autophagy and Beclin 1 Regulator 1 (AMBRA1) in regulating tumor plasticity in STAD progression. Methods: Combined with clinical data, the pan-cancer analysis of AMBRA1 was performed to analyze the role of AMBRA1 in STAD. Western blot, Flow Cytometry (FCM) assay, trans-well assay, wound healing assay, MTT, Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) assay, Reverse Transcription Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) and staining were performed to study the effects of AMBRA1 in AGS human gastric cancer cells. An AGS gastric cancer xenograft model was constructed to further verify the role of AMBRA1 in the development of STAD. Results: AMBRA1 overexpression correlated with poor overall survival in STAD and was positively associated with T cell CD4+ infiltration. High AMBRA1 expression also indicated worse prognosis in patients with high cancer-associated fibroblast infiltration. AMBRA1 depletion suppressed STAD cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in vitro. Mechanistically, AMBRA1 knockdown induced G1/S cell cycle arrest and triggered cellular senescence through epigenetic alterations, including changes in H3K9me3 levels. AMBRA1 inhibition also sensitized STAD cells to chemotherapeutic agents. In vivo studies confirmed the tumor-suppressive effects of AMBRA1 loss, resulting in reduced tumor growth and increased cellular senescence. Conclusions: Our findings uncover an oncogenic role for AMBRA1 in STAD. Targeting AMBRA1 may induce tumor cell senescence, apoptosis, and potentiate anti-tumor immunity, providing a rationale for developing AMBRA1-targeted precision therapies to improve clinical outcomes in STAD patients. The genus Daldinia have long been recognized as a source of structural novel, pharmaceutically relevant natural products. We reviewed the structures and activities of secondary metabolites isolated from the genus of Daldinia from January 1995 to June 2024, and 280 compounds, including six major categories—terpenoids, alkaloids, polyketides, polyphenols, steroids, and other classes—are presented in this review. Among these metabolites, 196 were identified as new structures. Remarkably, 112 compounds exhibited a range of biological activities, including cytotoxic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, anti-virus, and enzyme-inhibitory activities. This review highlights the bioactive metabolites discovered in the past three decades from the genus of Daldinia while also exploring the potential of these symbiotic fungi as rich sources of novel and diverse natural products. Inflammation is considered as one of the most primary protective innate immunity responses, closely related to the body's defense mechanism for responding to chemical, biological infections, or physical injuries. Furthermore, prolonged inflammation is undesirable, playing an important role in the development of various diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and even certain cancers. Marine-derived fungi represent promising sources of structurally novel bioactive natural products, and have been a focus of research for the development of anti-inflammatory drugs. This review covers secondary metabolites with anti-inflammatory activities from marine-derived fungi, over the period spanning August 2018 to July 2024. A total of 285 anti-inflammatory metabolites, including 156 novel compounds and 11 with novel skeleton structures, are described. Their structures are categorized into five categories: terpenoids, polyketides, nitrogen-containing compounds, steroids, and other classes. The biological targets, as well as the in vitro and in vivo screening models, were surveyed and statistically summarized. [Purpose/Significance] This paper clarifies the concept of novelty, reviews different novelty measurements, and summarizes different types and research progress of novelty detection at home and abroad. It is of great significance to the development of science and scientific technological planning. [Method/Process] By summarizing existing relevant Chinese and English literature, this paper reviews the definitions of novelty, different novelty measurements such as content analysis and citation analysis, as well as their evaluation methods. [Result/Conclusion] Most of the existing methods measure the novelty from a single perspective, and few used combined methods. Therefore, both qualitative and quantitative methods should be taken into consideration to form a comprehensive analysis in the future.

Conductive hydrogels, known for their flexibility, biocompatibility, and conductivity, have found extensive applications in fields such as healthcare, environmental monitoring, and soft robotics. Recent advancements in 3D printing technologies have transformed the fabrication of conductive hydrogels, creating new opportunities for sensing applications. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the advancements in the fabrication and application of 3D-printed conductive hydrogel sensors. First, the basic principles and fabrication techniques of conductive hydrogels are briefly reviewed. We then explore various 3D printing methods for conductive hydrogels, discussing their respective strengths and limitations. The review also summarizes the applications of 3D-printed conductive hydrogel-based sensors. In addition, perspectives on 3D-printed conductive hydrogel sensors are highlighted. This review aims to equip researchers and engineers with insights into the current landscape of 3D-printed conductive hydrogel sensors and to inspire future innovations in this promising field. Nitrogen heterocycles have drawn considerable attention because of their structurally novel and significant biological activities. Marine-derived fungi, especially the Aspergillus species, possess unique metabolic pathways to produce secondary metabolites with novel structures and potent biological activities. This review prioritizes the structural diversity and biological activities of nitrogen heterocycles that are produced by marine-derived Aspergillus species from January 2019 to January 2024, and their relevant biological activities. A total of 306 new nitrogen heterocycles, including seven major categories—indole alkaloids, diketopiperazine alkaloids, quinazoline alkaloids, isoquinoline alkaloids pyrrolidine alkaloids, cyclopeptide alkaloids, and other heterocyclic alkaloids—are presented in this review. Among these nitrogen heterocycles, 52 compounds had novel skeleton structures. Remarkably, 103 compounds showed various biological activities, such as cytotoxic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, anti-virus, and enzyme-inhibitory activities, and 21 compounds showed potent activities. This paper will guide further investigations into the structural diversity and biological activities of nitrogen heterocycles derived from the Aspergillus species and their potential contributions to the future development of new natural drug products in the medicinal and agricultural fields. Purpose: This paper focuses on the differences in domain intellectual structure discovery between author bibliographic coupling analysis (ABCA) and author co-citation analysis (ACA) considering all authors. The purpose of this study is to examine whether and in what ways these two all-author network approaches yield different results. Design/methodology/approach: The sample was collected from the database of Web of Science, including all articles published in Scientometrics and Journal of Informetrics from 2011 to 2020. First, 100 representative authors were selected from each set, and ABCA matrices and ACA matrices were constructed. Second, factor analysis was carried out on the matrices, to detect the intellectual structure of scientometrics and informetrics. Findings: The intellectual structures identified by ABCA and ACA are similar overall, but the results differ somewhat when it comes to specific structures. The ABCA is more sensitive to some highly collaborative research teams and presents a clearer picture of current intellectual structures and trends while ACA seems to have some advantages in representing the more traditional and proven research topics in the field. The combined use of ABCA and ACA allows for a more comprehensive and specific intellectual structure of research fields. Originality/value: This paper compares the performance of ABCA and ACA detecting the intellectual structure of the domain from the perspective of all authors, revealing the intellectual structure of scientometrics and informetrics comprehensively.
