8. Ultralocal Model-Based Tuning-Free Controller for PMSM Drives Considering Control Frequency

Abstract

This letter proposes an easy-implementation ultralocal model-based tuning-free controller (UL-TFC) considering control frequency to enhance the speed performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in scenarios with load inertia variation. The complicated traditional tuning-free controller (TFC) for inertia variation suppression is introduced and the side impact of the control frequency on control performance caused by the low-pass filter (LPF) is analyzed. Then, the UL-TFC is designed without additionally LPF, the coefficient configuration has been introduced and the performance improvement of the UL-TFC against inertia and control frequency variations is analyzed. Finally, the tuning-free performance of the proposed UL-TFC is experimentally confirmed.

11. Comparison and Analysis of the Consequent Pole Double Stator Hybrid Excitation Machine for Wide Speed Range Driving Applications

Abstract

The consequent pole double stator hybrid excitation machines (CPDS-HEMs) with different stator topologies are investigated and compared to achieve the optimal topology, so as to flexibly adjust the airgap flux to further expand the speed. The consequent pole rotor with N-S-iron core-S-N sequence is adopted, in which the iron core replaces part of the permanent magnet (PM), so that the PM flux is in parallel with the excitation flux. The stator wound the AC field winding realizing brushless excitation can be placed in the rotor shaft side or inside stator to form different topologies. In addition, the interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) and consequent pole PMSM (CP-PMSM) are adopted for comparison, the electromagnetic characteristics, including magnetic field distribution, no-load back electromotive force (EMF), torque characteristics, flux regulation capability and efficiency are evaluated by finite element analysis (FEA), which shows that the CPDS-HEM with AC field winding placed in the rotor shaft side has advantages in improving the speed and torque. Finally, the prototype is manufactured to verify above analysis, which has good prospects in wide speed range driving applications.

32. Vibration mode analysis of multi-degree-of-freedom permanent magnet synchronous motor

Abstract

Multi-degree-of-freedom motors have attracted more and more attentions, and the liquid suspension multi-degree-of-freedom PM motor is regarded as one of the research hotspots of new kind of electrical machine. In order to further optimize the structure of liquid suspension permanent magnet synchronous multi-degree-of-freedom motor and improve the stability of the operation, the mode force analysis of the motor's component is carried out. The characteristics and basic structure of the motor are introduced, and the principle and rules of the motor resonance are expounded in detail. Based on the theory of mechanics, the mode of the motor spherical shell is studied and calculated. By finite element analysis, the modal changes of stator shell under static and energized conditions are calculated and the comparison is made. Then, the 2nd order modal deformation of the spherical shell is monitored by hammering and sensor with the measured data obtained and compared with the finite element simulation. The solid mechanical structure of the claw stator core is analyzed so that the stress distribution and deformation displacement distribution are obtained. The results of the simulation and analysis provide the reference for the optimal design of this kind of motors or actuators.

34. Preparation and photocatalytic degradation of No: Cd nanorods.

Abstract

ZnO and ZnO:Cd nanorods were prepared by hydrothermal method. The structure and optical properties of ZnO:Cd nanorods were studied by X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, UVrVisrNir spectrophotometer and Raman spectroscopy. The results show that the sample was a one-dimensional Nano rod structure, and Cd doping could reduce the gram size and optical band gap of No nanorods. The photocatalytic degradation effidency of ZnO:Cd nanorods against azo structure dyes (methyl orange solution) was measured by spectrophotometer. The results showed that Cd doping could improve the photocatalytic degradation of ZnO, and the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of ZnO:Cd nanorods to methyl orange solution was the highest when the doping concentration was 16%. Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate change in the sagittal position of point A due to orthodontic treatment by orthodontic community-cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Materials and methods: 40 subjects (22 males and 18 females) who had Class II division 2 malocclusion were recruited, and 40 subjects (23 males and 17 females) who had minor crowding in the beginning of the treatment and required no or minimal maxillary anterior tooth movement were served as control. The changes in maxillary incisor inclination, sagittal position of point A, SNA angle, and movement of incisor root apex and incisal edge were calculated before and after CBCT treatment. Results: Maxillary incisors were significantly proclined in the study group but not in the control group. This proclination resulted in 2.95 mm backward movement of the root apex and 6.23 mm forward movement of the incisal edge of maxillary incisors. Point A moved 1.24 mm and 0.18 mm backward in the study and control groups, respectively. Incisor root apex and incisal edge almost remained stable in the control group. No significant change was observed in the SNA angle in both the study and control groups. However, the change in SNA between the two groups was found to be significant. Conclusions: Proclination of maxillary incisors with backward movement of incisor root apex caused posterior movement of point A. This posterior movement significantly affects the SNA angle.

Abstract

Background The purposes of this systematic review were to identify and review the orthodontic literature with regard to enamel color alterations after orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances. The effects of clean-up procedures on the surface of enamel were also investigated. Methods We searched the following electronic databases: Medline (1950 to 6 July 2014), EMBASE via OVID (1980 to 6 July 2014), Google Scholar, Web of Science (1950 to 6 July 2014), CENTRAL (The Cochrane Library, 2014, Issue 7). We also searched the reference lists of relevant articles. Quality assessment of the included articles was performed. Two authors were responsible for study selection, validity assessment, and data extraction. Results Five studies met the inclusion criteria, including 3 randomized controlled trials and 2 prospective studies. Four trials were assessed as being unclear with regard to risk of bias. One was assessed as being at high risk of bias. The studies reviewed suggested that orthodontic treatment alters the original color of enamel, and both adhesive systems and resin-removal methods can contribute to this change. Conclusion There is no strong evidence from this review that orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances alters the original color of enamel. Further well-designed and conducted randomized controlled trials are required, to facilitate comparisons of results.

Abstract

Inorganic lead halide perovskite (CsPbX3, X = Cl, Br, I) NWs (NWs) have been employed in lasers due to their intriguing attributes of tunable wavelength, low threshold, superior stability, and easy preparation. However, current CsPbX3 NW lasers usually work in a multi-mode modal, impeding their practical applications in optical communication due to the associated false signaling. In this work, high-performance single-mode lasing has been demonstrated by designing and fabricating coupled cavities in the high-quality single-crystal CsPbBr3 NWs via the focused ion beam (FIB) milling approach. The single-mode laser shows a threshold of 20.1 μJ cm-2 and a high quality factor of ∼2800 profiting from the Vernier effect, as demonstrated by the experiments and finite-different time-domain (FDTD) simulations. These results demonstrate the promising potentials of the CsPbX3 NW lasers in optical communication and integrated optoelectronic devices.
