Background Rhinoplasty requires balanced consideration of function and aesthetics, necessitating a precise evaluation tool. A reliable and validated patient-reported measure, the Standardized Cosmesis and Health Nasal Outcomes Survey (SCHNOS) evaluates both aspects but was previously unavailable in Chinese. This study fills that gap by providing a Chinese version. Objectives In this study we aimed to translate, culturally adapt, and validate a Chinese iteration of the SCHNOS (C-SCHNOS) for appraising the functional and aesthetic outcomes among Chinese patients following rhinoplasty, furnishing a reliable and efficacious assessment tool for Chinese users. Methods Following international guidelines, the SCHNOS questionnaire was translated and culturally adapted for Chinese use. Its psychometric properties, including internal consistency, correlations, and reproducibility, were evaluated among Chinese natives in Sichuan Province from March 2022 to January 2023. Results The C-SCHNOS was administered to 110 Chinese natives, showing high internal consistency, with Cronbach's α of 0.81 for SCHNOS-O (obstructive domain) and 0.92 for SCHNOS-C (cosmetic domain). Spearman correlations for SCHNOS-O (0.36-0.65) and SCHNOS-C (0.51-0.74) were positive and significant. Test-retest reliability analyses revealed strong Spearman correlations for SCHNOS-O (r = 0.87) and SCHNOS-C (r = 0.90). Responsiveness was statistically significant for SCHNOS-O (P <.001) but not for SCHNOS-C (P =.222). Exploratory factor analysis and parallel tests indicated that C-SCHNOS maintained a single-factor structure, with eigenvalues exceeding the critical values (2.55 for SCHNOS-O and 4.35 for SCHNOS-C), reflecting excellent unidimensionality. Conclusions The SCHNOS questionnaire was successfully translated into Chinese and culturally adapted. The C-SCHNOS is a dependable and valid instrument for utilization in the Chinese population in patients undergoing functional or cosmetic rhinoplasty. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The extraordinary mechanical compliance of 2D molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) makes it an ideal candidate for strain modulation of various electrical and optical properties. However, developing facile methods for accurate and stable engineering of strain still remains a major challenge. Here, a novel and effective method is demonstrated for introducing periodic strain into monolayer MoS2 by direct growth on nano‐patterned sapphire substrates (NPSS). A mixed aqueous solution of Na2MoO4 and NaOH is spin‐coated on the NPSS and sulfurated in one step by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Highly oriented monolayer MoS2 single‐crystal nanosheets with high quality and few sulfur vacancies are achieved conformally on the NPSS via a liquid‐mediated growth mode. Notably, the periodically distributed blue shift of the PL emission peak demonstrated periodic compressive strain is introduced into the nano‐patterned MoS2 via the thermal expansion difference between MoS2 and substrates. Furthermore, photodetectors fabricated using the nano‐patterned monolayer MoS2 exhibit a high photo‐to‐dark current ratio (PDCR) over 106, an excellent detectivity of 5.4 × 1013 Jones, and a fast photoresponse of 7.7 ms, owing to the strain‐induced back‐to‐back built‐in electric field, enhanced light absorption by light‐scattering effect and fewer S vacancy defects. The scanning imaging demonstration based on the single‐pixel nano‐patterned MoS2 photodetector further confirms its great potential in image sensors. This work hereby presents a pathway for direct conformal growth of nano‐patterned monolayer MoS2 with precisely periodic strain, which should inspire the applications for high‐performance optoelectronic devices via the strategy of patterned substrate engineering by the periodic nanostructures. Many aphid species exhibit both cyclical parthenogenesis (CP) and the obligate parthenogenesis (OP) life history, which are genetically determined. In CP aphid lineages, the parthenogenetic individuals can switch from asexual to sexual reproduction quickly in response to environmental factors such as changes in photoperiod and temperature. However, the OP aphid lineages do not undergo sexual reproduction under any conditions. So far, mechanisms underlying the reproduction switch in CP aphids have not been fully elucidated. Rhopalosiphum padi, a serious worldwide insect pest of wheat, has both CP and OP lineages. Uridine diphosphate‐glycosyltransferases (UGTs) are enzymes that participate in the metabolic detoxification of xenobiotics. Here, we identified 43 RpUGT genes from R. padi genome and transcriptome sequences, and found that: (1) the UGT content of the CP lineage was significantly higher than that in the OP lineage at the key time points when CP lineage mainly produce virginoparae, gynoparae, and males under inducing condition, while there were no significant difference under normal conditions; (2) RpUGT344J7 gene was highly expressed during the time points when CP lineages produce gynopara and males; (3) the critical time points for CP lineages to produce virginoparaee, gynoparae, and males were affected when the CP lineages were injected with dsRpUGT344J7; (4) the knockdown of RpUGT344J7 caused a significant reduction in the total number of virginoparae, gynoparae, and males in the offspring under inducing condition. The findings contribute to our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the quick shift from asexual to sexual reproduction in aphid species. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The increasing demand for multispectral information acquisition and the complexity of application environments have sparked a growing interest in broadband detection. However, achieving a high level of responsivity across a wide response range remains a significant challenge. Herein, an ultrasensitive broadband phototransistor based on hybrid photogating (HPG) structure is demonstrated, which consisted of a quasi‐2D beta‐phase gallium oxide (β‐Ga2O3) nanoflake as the carrier transport channel and a tellurium (Te) nanoflake as the photogating layer. Attributed to the strong doping influence of the Te nanoflake, a low off‐state current of pA level and a high on/off current ratio of ≈108 are obtained. Upon 255 nm wavelength illumination, the device exhibited an ultrahigh responsivity up to 3.82 × 106 A W−1 and a detectivity as high as 1.59 × 1014 Jones across a large gate voltage range. Notably, an exciting infrared response is obtained with a responsivity of 138 A W−1 and a detectivity of 3.70 × 109 Jones under the 1550 nm wavelength illumination, exclusively achievable when the gate voltage exceeded 4 V. Leveraging the gate‐tunable spectral response, an innovative model for secure optical communication was proposed. Background: As the most prevalent primary brain tumor in adults, glioma accounts for the majority of all central nervous system malignant tumors. The concept of PANoptosis is a relatively new, underlining the interconnection and synergy among three distinct pathways: pyroptosis, apoptosis and necroptosis. Methods: We performed single‐cell annotations of glioma cells and determined crucial signaling pathways through cell chat analysis. Using least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and Cox analyses, we identified a gene set with prognostic values. Our model was validated using independent external cohort. In addition, we employed single‐sample gene set enrichment analysis and xCell analyses to describe the detailed profile of infiltrated immune cells and depicted the gene mutation landscape in the two groups. Results: We identified seven distinct cell clusters in glioma samples, including oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), myeloid cells, tumor cells, oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, vascular cells and neuronal cells. We found that myeloid cells showed the highest PANoptosis activity. An intense mutual cell communication pattern between the tumor cells and OPCs and oligodendrocytes was observed. Differentially expressed genes between the high‐PANoptosis and low‐PANoptosis cell groups were obtained, which were enriched to actin cytoskeleton, cell adhesion molecules and gamma R‐mediated phagocytosis pathways. We determined a set of five genes of prognostic significance: SAA1, SLPI, DCX, S100A8 and TNR. The prognostic differences between the two groups in the internal and external sets were found to be statistically significant. We found a marked correlation between S100A8 and activated dendritic cell, macrophage, mast cell, myeloid derived suppressor cell and Treg infiltration. Moreover, we have observed a significant increase of PTEN mutation in the high risk (HR) group of glioma patients. Conclusions: In the present study, we have constructed a prognostic model that is based on the PANoptosis, and we have demonstrated its significant efficacy in stratifying patients with glioma. This innovative prognostic model offers novel insights into precision immune treatments that could be used to combat this disease and improve patient outcomes, thereby providing a new avenue for personalized treatment options.
