As an emerging task in text sentiment analysis,the automatic extraction of emotion-cause pairs aims to identify emotion expression from the raw texts without any annotation in the unit of clauses,and identify the causes for the corresponding emotions to form emotion-cause pairs.The crucial point of this task is focused on how to effectively capture the relationship between emotions and causes and among different emotion-cause pairs.To overcome the shortcomings of existing researches in capturing these associations,such as too coarse granularity and unable to effectively distinguish the mutual influence of causal relations between different pairs,this paper proposes an emotion-cause pair extraction method based on a heterogeneous graph neural network.Initially,we construct a heterogeneous graph with clauses and clause pairs as vertices,in which there are different types of edges between clauses and clause pairs and between different clause pairs to capture various fine-grained associations.Then using the heterogeneous graph neural network algorithm with attention mechanism to iteratively update the vertex embeddings of clauses and clause pairs.Finally,the updated embeddings is input to the binary classifier,and the classifier judges whether the corresponding pair has an emotion-cause relationship.To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed model,we conduct a series of experiments on a benchmark dataset of the emotion-cause pair extraction task.The results demonstrate that the method based on the heterogeneous graph neural network proposed in this paper has a stable effect improvement,and the F1 value is 0.85% higher than the state-of-art baselines.When the bottom encoder(for obtaining the initial embeddings of clauses and clause pairs) is replaced by BERT,the F1 value can reach 73.12%,and our model also outperforms the state-of-art algorithm.

IPO firms in the technology industry are regarded as vulnerable due to their limited resources, inexperience, and relatively short technology and product lifecycles. They also lack a track record to signal to the market that they are equipped with sufficient ability to overcome the challenges faced in this highly competitive environment. This study examines whether board diversity helps IPO firms perform better in such a challenging environment; furthermore, we explore the potential contingencies that magnify or weaken the benefits of board diversity by examining how its impact is moderated by firm size and board tenure. Using a sample of 363 IPO events within technology firms over 11 years, we find that higher board diversity is associated with better post-IPO performance; however, a larger firm size and longer board tenure decrease the value created by board diversity. The findings are robust to alternative measures of performance and board diversity. Our study contributes to the literature by demonstrating the significant impact of board diversity on the performance of technology IPO firms as well as explaining the conditions under which boards effectively execute their resource dependence roles. Colonic adenomas are considered a precursor of colorectal cancer. A 75-year-old woman had a history of post-operation left breast cancer. She received an excision when the left chest wall recurred. A later FDG PET/CT scan revealed a focal intense FDG accumulation in the sigmoid, a focal mild FDG uptake in the pericolic lymph node, and a focal increased FDG accumulation in the transverse colon. A delayed FDG PET/CT scan after the per-rectal administration of the laxative-augmented contrast medium revealed a filling defect with persistent FDG uptake in the sigmoid and transverse colon and mild FDG uptake in the pericolic lymph node. In addition, more lesions were observed in the rectum and descending colon. The pathology reports showed sigmoid adenocarcinoma with lymph node metastasis, and adenomas in the transverse colon, descending colon, and rectum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Online aggression (OA) in Chinese university students is a public health concern. Drawing on the general aggression model (GAM), this study examines the extent to which nonviolent and violent stressful life events predict OA through altering moral cognition (i.e., moral disengagement). It also examines whether the two types of stressful life events interactively predict moral disengagement and whether violent stressful life events moderate the link between moral disengagement and OA. Method: Participants were 569 Chinese university students (Mage = 21.94 years, 42.5% males). They participated in a three-wave study, with 3-month spanning each wave, to self-report nonviolent stressful life events at Time 1 (T1), violent stressful life events and moral disengagement at T1 and Time 2 (T2), and OA at T1 and Time 3. Results: Results of path analysis showed that after controlling for the baseline levels of respective variables, T2 moral disengagement mediated the associations between T1 violent, but not nonviolent, stressful life events and Time 3 OA. The interactive effect between the two types of stressful life events at T1 on moral disengagement at T2 was insignificant; neither was the interactive effect between T2 moral disengagement and T2 violent stressful life events on Time 3 OA. The significance of results did not change after adjusting students' gender, age, and family socioeconomic status. Conclusion: These findings support the utility of GAM in explaining how OA develops in Chinese young people, implying that some situational inputs appear more important than others in these developmental processes. Most elderly persons suffer from chronic diseases. To treat chronic diseases, good medication adherence and refilling medication as physicians' advice are key points of pharmaceutical therapy. However, the literature revealed that only limited studies have focused on the medication adherence of the elderly in rural communities. This study evaluated the adherence to medication and the degree of refilling prescriptions as physician's advice by the Adherence to Refills and Medications Scale (ARMS) and evaluated the factors associated with poor adherence to medication. This cross‐sectional study focused on the medication use of the elderly population in rural areas in western Taiwan and analyzed related personal and social factors which influence the behaviors of pharmaceutical therapy. In conclusion, most of the elderly who lived in rural areas in western Taiwan have poor adherence (ARMS score over 12) to medication and a poor degree of refilling prescriptions as per physicians' advice. Moreover, age ≥75 years and low urbanization were significantly associated with poor adherence. Future research is warranted to assess the effect of the interventions to improve medication adherence on chronic disease control, disability, and mortality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background/Objectives: This paper undertakes an investigation into the implications of premature progesterone rise (PPR) on pregnancy outcomes in freeze-all strategy cycles. Methods: A retrospective cohort study encompassing 675 IVF/ICSI cycles using a freeze-all strategy was enrolled. The cycles were categorized into two groups based on serum progesterone levels at the time of hCG administration: 526 cycles had levels below 1.5 ng/mL, while 149 cycles had levels equal to or above 1.5 ng/mL. Results: The findings revealed a significantly higher number of mature follicles and retrieved oocytes in patients with PPR across all AMH categories. Multiple analyses revealed factors influencing PPR, including the duration of induction and the number of retrieved oocytes. Within the same oocyte retrieval number group, patients with PPR demonstrated non-inferior pregnancy outcomes compared to non-PPR patients. Upon adjustment for age, AMH, and total follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) dosage, PPR maintained a positive correlation with the cumulative live birth rate (LBR). Conclusions: The study showed that PPR correlates with an increase in retrieved oocytes while maintaining similar embryo quality and oocyte retrieval rates and results in a higher cumulative LBR.
