The one-step oxidation of benzene to phenol represents a significant and promising advancement in modern industries focused on the production of high-value-added chemical products. Nevertheless, challenges persist in achieving sufficient catalytic selectivity and preventing over-oxidation. Inspired by copper enzymes, we present a nonsymmetric dicopper complex ([Cu II2 (TPMAN)(μ-OH)(H2O)]3+, 1) for the selective oxidation of benzene to phenol. Utilizing H2O2 as the oxidant, complex 1 demonstrates remarkable catalytic activity (a TON of 14 000 within 29 hours) and selectivity exceeding 97%, comparable to the finest homogeneous catalyst derived from first-row transition metals. It is noteworthy that the significant substituent effect, alongside a negligible kinetic isotope effect (KIE = 1.05), radical trapping experiments, and an inconsistent standard selectivity test of the ˙OH radicals, all contradict the conventional Fenton mechanism and rebound pathway. Theoretical investigations indicate that the active CuII(μ-O˙)CuII–OH species generated through the cleavage of the O–O bond in the CuII(μ-1,1-OOH)CuI intermediate facilitates the hydroxylation of benzene via an electrophilic attack mechanism. Background: Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) 38 is an endogenous neuropeptide with diverse functions, notably its critical role in inhibiting tumor proliferation. Radiotherapy is an important step in the standard treatment modality of many tumors. Combining radiotherapy with therapeutic agents represents a new and promising trend aimed at enhancing radiation sensitivity and improving tumor treatment efficacy. However, the efficacy of PACAP38 combined with radiotherapy on tumors has not yet been studied. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the impact of PACAP38, both independently and in combination with irradiation, on glioma and breast cancer cells, while elucidating the underlying mechanisms involved. Methods: We investigated the impact of PACAP38 independently and combined it with irradiation on glioma and breast cancer cells in vitro through cell counting kit-8, clonogenic formation, Edu assays, and in vivo through a xenograft tumor model. We further explored the molecular mechanisms underlying the inhibitory effects of PACAP38 on tumors using RNA sequencing, western blotting assay, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence analysis. Further investigation of gene function and the downstream mechanism was carried out through small interfering RNA and overexpression lentivirus targeting the SRY-related high-mobility group box 6 (SOX6) gene and western blotting assay. Results: Our findings revealed that PACAP38 could effectively synergize with radiation to suppress the proliferation of glioma and breast cancer cells in vivo and in vitro. Molecular studies revealed that the inhibitory effect of PACAP38 on tumor cell proliferation was mediated by upregulating SOX6 protein expression through histone acetylation, thereby inhibiting the Wnt-β-catenin signaling pathway. Conclusion: PACAP38 synergizes with irradiation to suppress the proliferation of multiple cancer cells via regulating SOX6/Wnt/β-catenin signaling. The experiment aimed to investigate the protective effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBP) on aspirin (ASA) -induced intestinal injury in mice. The twenty-four 7-week-old male Kunming mice were randomly divided into a control group, aspirin model group (ASA group), and Lycium barbarum polysaccharide group (LBP group) after seven days of adaptive feeding, with eight mice in each group. The experimental period was 12 days. In the first six days of the experiment, the control group was gavage 200 mg/kg normal saline, and the ASA group and the LBP group were gavage the same amount of aspirin. On the last six days of the experiment, the LBP group was gavage 75 mg/kg LBP, and the control group and ASA group were gavage the same amount of normal saline. The results showed that compared with the control group, the jejunal villus height (VH) of the ASA group was significantly decreased ( P<0.05) and villus height/crypt depth (VH/CD) was extremely decreased (P<0.01), the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the ileum was extremely decreased (P<0.01), the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the jejunum and ileum was extremely increased (P<0.01). Compared with the ASA group, the LBP group significantly decreased kidney index (P<0.05), extremely increased VH/CD in jejunum and SOD activity in jejunum and ileum (P<0.01), and extremely decreased MDA content in jejunum and ileum (P<0.01). The study indicates that LBP can enhance the antioxidant capacity of jejunum and ileum in ASA-induced intestinal injury in mice, improve intestinal morphology, and alleviate intestinal injury in mice. With global supply chains facing increasing complexity and uncertainty, mitigating sustainable supply chain risks (SSCRs) has become an important research topic. Industry 5.0 (I5.0) is a supplement to, and re-development of, Industry 4.0, but no research on improving supply chain resilience (SCRE) through I5.0 drivers to mitigate SSCRs currently exists. Therefore, we developed a QFD approach to investigate the relationship between SSCRs, SCRE, and I5.0 drivers. This study utilises the FDM-FDISM-ANP-TOPSIS method, considers China's largest private logistics enterprises as the object of empirical analysis, and establishes a sustainable supply chain identification system and SCRE evaluation index system for logistics enterprises through two-stage House of Quality. The findings reveal that 20 key I5.0 significantly bolster 17 SCRE, thereby mitigating 13 SSCRs by QFD-MCDM framework. These I5.0 drivers play a pivotal role in enhancing SCRE of logistics enterprises. This study contributes to the field of supply chain risk resilience in sustainable engineering by integrating the perspectives of SSCRs, SCRE and I5.0. It underscores the necessity for managers in logistics enterprises to develop SCRE solutions that incorporate both SSCRs and I5.0 considerations. Objective: Midpalatal expansion (MPE) is routinely employed to treat transverse maxillary arch deficiency. Neutrophils are indispensable for recruiting bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) at the initial stage of bone regeneration. This study aimed to explore whether neutrophils participate in MPE and how they function during bone formation under mechanical stretching. Materials and Methods: The presence and phenotype of neutrophils in the midpalatal suture during expansion were detected by flow cytometry and immunofluorescence staining. The possible mechanism of neutrophil recruitment and polarization was explored in vitro by exposing vascular endothelial cells (VECs) to cyclic tensile strain. Results: The number of neutrophils in the distracted suture peaked on Day 3, and N2‐type neutrophils significantly increased on Day 5 after force application. The depletion of circulatory neutrophils reduced bone volume by 43.6% after 7‐day expansion. The stretched VECs recruited neutrophils via a CXCR2 mechanism in vitro, which then promoted BMSC osteogenic differentiation through the VEGFA/VEGFR2 axis. Consistently, these neutrophils showed higher expression of canonical N2 phenotype genes, including CD206 and Arg1. Conclusions: These results suggested that neutrophils participated in early bone formation during MPE. Based on these findings, we propose that stretched VECs recruited and polarized neutrophils, which, in turn, induced BMSC osteogenic differentiation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
