Considering the development of deep learning and the emergence of intelligent control demands in nuclear reactors, along with the presence of plant‐level real‐time information monitoring systems in most nuclear power plants, there is a considerable accumulation of sensor measurements from long‐term operation. This makes it feasible to conduct medium to long‐term predictions for various real‐time conditions in nuclear power plants. Therefore, this paper proposes the utilization of a gate‐based recurrent neural network called GRU (Gated Recurrent Unit) and its variants for parameter prediction of LOCA (Loss of Coolant Accident) scenarios. The main content of this paper consists of two parts: (1) Experimental verification is conducted to demonstrate that GRU has excellent capability in capturing long‐term sequential information and generalization ability, making it suitable for predicting accident conditions in nuclear power plants. Two accident trend prediction methods based on the GRU network are proposed for scenarios with limited data. The results show that these methods can effectively provide short‐term development trends for accident conditions. Additionally, by considering the feature extraction capacity of CNN, the fusion of CNN and GRU models is employed for parameter prediction under different sizes of broken area. The results indicate an improvement in the model's generalization ability. (2) In scenarios with limited and incomplete data, a more robust variant of GRU called GRU‐D model is utilized for both univariate and multivariate synchronous prediction of accident conditions with different missing values. Experimental results demonstrate that even with a data missing rate of 90%, the GRU‐D network exhibits excellent predictive accuracy and generalization ability in parameter prediction for the given conditions. Knowledge graphs as external information has become one of the mainstream directions of current recommendation systems. Various knowledge-graph-representation methods have been proposed to promote the development of knowledge graphs in related fields. Knowledge-graph-embedding methods can learn entity information and complex relationships between the entities in knowledge graphs. Furthermore, recently proposed graph neural networks can learn higher-order representations of entities and relationships in knowledge graphs. Therefore, the complete presentation in the knowledge graph enriches the item information and alleviates the cold start of the recommendation process and too-sparse data. However, the knowledge graph's entire entity and relation representation in personalized recommendation tasks will introduce unnecessary noise information for different users. To learn the entity-relationship presentation in the knowledge graph while effectively removing noise information, we innovatively propose a model named k n o w l e d g e — e n h a n c e d   h i e r a r c h i c a l   g r a p h   c a p s u l e   n e t w o r k (KHGCN), which can extract node embeddings in graphs while learning the hierarchical structure of graphs. Our model eliminates noisy entities and relationship representations in the knowledge graph by the entity disentangling for the recommendation and introduces the attentive mechanism to strengthen the knowledge-graph aggregation. Our model learns the presentation of entity relationships by an original graph capsule network. The capsule neural networks represent the structured information between the entities more completely. Aluminum matrix composites reinforced with 10 vol.% SiC particles (SiCp/Al MMCs) were prepared throughthe vacuum stirring method from SiC particles preoxidated at high temperature, followed by posttreatments of remelting and Sc addition treatment. Major problems during vacuum stirring preparation were investigated. Results show that overoxidation of SiC particles may occur during the vacuum stirring process, which causes loss of SiC particles and increases in "impurity pores" after solidification or aggregation of SiC particles, leading to scarcely improved mechanical properties of the prepared SiCp/Al composites. After Sc addition treatment, the α-Al and eutectic Si phases were obviously refined. The composite matrix was strengthened. The result indicates that the maximum tensile strength of 10 vol.% SiCp/A356 composites with Sc addition treatment was 193.5 MPa, which was increased by 43% compared with the matrix alloy. Moreover, a fracture at particles was detected after Sc addition treatment. The stress could be effectively transferred to the SiC particles when the fracture occurred. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lung cancer is the highest incidence and mortality of all cancers around the world. In the present immunotherapy era, an increasing number of immunotherapeutic agents including monoclonal antibody‐targeted drugs have been used in the clinical treatment of malignancy, but it still has many limitations. Chimeric antigen receptor‐modified T (CAR‐T) cells, a novel adoptive immunotherapy strategy, have not only been used successfully against hematological tumors, but have also opened up new avenues for immunotherapy of solid tumors, including lung cancer. However, targeting lung cancer‐specific antigens using engineered CAR‐T cells is complicated by the lack of proper tumor‐specific antigens, an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, a low level of CAR‐T cell infiltration into tumor tissues, along with off‐target effect, etc. Simultaneously, the clinical application of CAR‐T cells remains limited because of many challenges such as tumor lysis syndrome, neurotoxicity syndrome, and cytokine release syndrome. In this review, we outline the basic structure and generation characteristic of CAR‐T cells and summarize the common tumor‐associated antigens in clinical trials of CAR‐T cell therapy for lung cancer, and point out the current challenges and new strategies, aiming to provide new ideas and approaches for the pre‐clinical experiments and clinical trials of CAR‐T cell therapy in lung cancer. • Z-scheme heterostructure of α-Fe 2 O 3 coupled with Zn 0.2 Cd 0.8 S is reported in the field of PEC water oxidation for the first time. • Incorporation of elemental S in heterostructure improves the photogenerated carrier separation. • The formed Z-type heterojunction provides strong driving force for the photoelectrochemical water oxidation reaction. A Z-type heterojunction system is proven to be an efficient strategy to promote the separation of photo-generated carriers and maintain strong redox capacity for an enhanced photoanode. Herein, we synthesized a S-modified Fe 2 O 3 /Zn 0.2 Cd 0.8 S (Fe/ZCS) photoanode by one-pot hydrothermal treatment of FeOOH/Zn 0.2 Cd 0.8 S precursor film, followed by vapor deposition treatment. The as-synthesized S-modified Fe/ZCS displayed enhanced PEC water oxidation performance with a photocurrent density (2.76 mA cm−2) of about 2.63 times that of a pure phase Fe 2 O 3 and 2.05 times that of Fe/ZCS at 1.23 V RHE. After 8 h of continuous operation, the photocurrent density retention rate was still 96.4 % demonstrating its satisfactory stability. Benefiting from the morphology of fine nanorods, the fabricated Z-scheme heterostructure exhibited strong oxidation–reduction ability and the well-distributed Fe(III)-SO 4 2- bonds played key roles as the electron capture centers. This paper investigates the influence of secondary vibration and the time interval of secondary vibration on the shrinkage properties of freshly placed concrete. In this study, four sets of cylindrical specimens with a diameter of 30 cm and a height of 100 cm were designed with different time intervals for secondary vibration. By continuously monitoring the shrinkage strain of concrete for 17 weeks, a calculation model for the early-age shrinkage strain of concrete considering the effects of secondary vibration was proposed. Concrete compressive strength tests and water expansion tests were also designed to investigate the effects of secondary vibration on compressive strength, compactness and other properties under different environments. The study results showed that secondary vibration mainly reduced concrete shrinkage during the first three days, with a reduction ratio of 10%-20%, and then stabilized. The longer the time interval for vibration, the smaller the shrinkage strain of concrete, and the more significant the improvement in compressive strength and compactness, with an increased ratio of 15%-30%. The proposed prediction model can consider the effects of secondary vibration and reflect the early-age shrinkage variation of concrete during the first seven days. A vast amount of evidence indicates that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in cancer. Previous studies have indicated that lncRNA DiGeorge syndrome critical region gene 5 (DGCR5) is aberrantly expressed in lung cancer, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma. However, the role of DGCR5 in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) has remained elusive. In the present study, it was revealed that DGCR5 was significantly downregulated in PTC tissues compared with that in adjacent normal tissues. Through functional experiments, it was demonstrated that ectopic overexpression of DGCR5 markedly suppressed PTC cell growth and invasion. A bioinformatics analysis suggested that DGCR5 binds to microRNA (miR)-2861. A total of 5 putative binding sites for miR-2861 were identified in DGCR5, and a luciferase reporter assay confirmed the direct interaction between DGCR5 and miR-2861. Furthermore, reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis indicated that ectopic overexpression of DGCR5 led to a decreased expression of miR-2861 in PTC cells and miR-2861 mimic transfection caused a downregulation of DGCR5. miR-2861 level was upregulated in PTC tissues compared with adjacent tissues and negatively correlated with DGCR5 level. In addition, rescue experiments indicated that ectopic expression of miR-2861 reversed the effects of DGCR5 overexpression on PTC cell proliferation and invasion. Objective: To identify the significantly altered circRNAs and mRNAs in thyroid cancer, investigate their target miRNAs and determine their biological functions. Methods: The differentially expressed circRNAs, mRNAs and pathways in thyroid cancer were identified by microarray analysis and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA). The correlative circRNAs and mRNAs were found out through Pearson correlative analysis. The common target miRNAs of circNEK6 and FZD8 related to thyroid cancer was screened out through Targetscan, miRanda and HMDD analysis. The mRNA and protein expressions in thyroid cancer tissues and cells were detected by qRT-PCR and western blot. CircRNA was confirmed by the RNase R digestion and nucleic acid electrophoresis. The target relationships were verified by the dual luciferase reporter assay. Cell viability, invasion and apoptosis were determined by MTT assay, Transwell assay and flow cytometry, respectively. Results: CircNEK6 and FZD8 were significantly up-regulated in thyroid cancer, with strong correlations. The Wnt signaling pathway was activated in thyroid cancer. MiR-370-3p was the common target miRNA of circNEK6 and FZD8, and it was down-regulated in thyroid cancer. Overexpression of circNEK6 and FZD8 could promote the growth and invasion of thyroid cancer cells, while up-regulation of miR-370-3p could suppress thyroid cancer progression and inhibit the Wnt signaling pathway. MiR-370-3p's effect on thyroid cancer cells could be rescued by circNEK6 or FZD8. Thyroid carcinoma is primarily treated by surgery combined with radioactive 131iodine (131I) treatment; however, certain patients exhibit resistance to 131I treatment. Previous research indicated that nuclear factor‑κB (NF‑κB) was associated with resistance to 131I in cancer cells. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of NF‑κB on 131I uptake and apoptosis in thyroid carcinoma cells. TPC‑1 and BCPAP cell lines were employed as research models in the present study, and the expression of NF‑κB was inhibited by RNA interference (RNAi). The ability of TPC‑1 and BCPAP cells to uptake 131I was measured and the cell viability was detected by an MTT assay. Finally, the expression of the apoptosis‑associated proteins X‑linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP), cellular inhibitor of apoptosis protein 1 (cIAP1) and caspase‑3 in TCP‑1 and BCPAP cells was determined by western blotting. Western blotting results demonstrated that the expression levels of NF‑κB in TPC‑1 and BCPAP cells were successfully downregulated by RNAi (P<0.05), while analysis of 131I uptake revealed no significant alterations in the 131I uptake ability of cells following RNAi (P>0.05). MTT experiments demonstrated that the inhibition of NF‑κB expression in combination with radiation (131I treatment) led to a marked reduction in cell viability (P<0.05). Furthermore, western blot analysis revealed that the inhibition of NF‑κB expression downregulated the expression levels of XIAP and cIAP1 (P<0.05), while the expression levels of caspase‑3 were upregulated, indicating that the observed reduction in cell viability following NF‑κB inhibition may be due to an increased level of apoptosis. Although NF‑κB inhibition did not affect the 131I uptake of thyroid cancer cells, this inhibition may increase the apoptotic effects of radioactive 131I. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) can increase thrombogenesis risk, especially in the left atrium (LA). The exact mechanism is still unclear. Objective We assessed the effects of PAF on endothelial function, and investigated if febuxostat (FX) can attenuate endothelial dysfunction by inhibition of xanthine oxidase (XO). Materials and methods Eighteen male New Zealand white rabbits were divided randomly into sham-operated (S), PAF (P) or FX + pacing (FP) groups. Group P and group FP received rapid atrial pacing (RAP). Group FP was administered febuxostat (FX) for 7 days before RAP. Post-procedure, blood samples were collected from the LA, right atrium (RA) and peripheral circulation. Tissues from the LA and RA were obtained. Endothelial dysfunction (thrombomodulin [TM], von Willebrand factor [VWF], asymmetric dimethylarginine [ADMA]), and indirect thrombin generation (thrombin-antithrombin complex [TAT], prothrombin fragment 1 + 2 [F1.2]) and oxidative stress in atrial tissue (xanthine oxidase [XO], superoxide dismutase [SOD], malondialdehyde [MDA]) were measured using an Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Atrial endothelial expression of TM and VWF was measured by histology/western blotting. Results and conclusions Endothelial dysfunction (TM, VWF, ADMA), TAT generation and oxidative stress (XO, SOD, MDA) in group P were more significant compared with that in group S ( p < 0.05, respectively). In group P, all of these changes occurred to a greater extent in the LA compared with those in the RA or peripheral circulation. In group FP, FX attenuated endothelial dysfunction and reduced TAT levels by inhibition of XO-mediated oxidative stress. PAF can lead to endothelial dysfunction and TAT generation by XO-mediated oxidative stress. The LA is more susceptible to these effects. Neoproterozoic volcanic-sedimentary sequences of the southern Qinling belt, central China, were intruded by voluminous mafic dikes. secondary ion mass spectrometry zircon U-Pb dating indicates that these dikes were emplaced at 650.8 ± 5.2 Ma, coeval with mafic rocks occurring at the northern margin of the Yangtze block. The dikes are characterized by enrichment of large ion lithophile elements, high Ti contents (up to 3.73 wt%) and Nb/Ta ratios between 14.5 and 19.6, suggesting a mantle source of oceanic island basalt affinity. Initial Sr/Sr ratios show positive correlation with SiO contents and negative correlation with Zr/Nb ratios, implying that these rocks were affected by crustal contamination during the magma ascend and emplacement process. The dikes have initial ε values of +0.2 to +3.3, low Pb/Pb ratios of 16.96-17.45, and moderate Sr/Sr ratios of 0.7043-0.7076, likely pointing to the involvement of an enriched mantle source. The mafic dikes and coeval mafic volcanic equivalents in the South Qinling and the northern Yangtze are hypothesized to be related with the prolonged breakup of the supercontinent Rodinia, suggesting that continental rifting lasted until ca. 650 Ma. The eastern Qinling belt is characterized by widespread Mesozoic post-orogenic magmatism and abundant Mo–(Au–Ag) polymetallic mineralization. Most Mo deposits in this belt are genetically related to Mesozoic granitoids. The tectonic context of this close spatial and temporal relationship is still debated. This study reports U–Pb ages and Hf isotopic composition of zircons, major and trace element and Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic composition of the Donggou granite porphyry, host rock to one of the important Mesozoic Mo deposits in this orogen. Based on geochemical results, the Donggou granite porphyry is a silica-supersaturated, high-K metaluminous A-type granite showing enrichment in light REEs, depletion in middle REEs and significant negative Eu, Ba, Nb, Sr, P, and Ti anomalies. Negative initial ϵNdvalues of −17.0 to −13.2 for whole-rock and negative initial ϵHfvalues of −19.9 to −7.8 for zircon suggest that the magma was derived from a mixture of Archaean/Proterozoic crustal rocks and mantle-derived or newly added crust. Its Pb isotopic composition is similar to the lower crust of the North China block, but different from superjacent country rocks (Xiong'er and Taihua Groups). Zircon U–Pb dating yields a late Mesozoic emplacement age of 118–117 Ma, identical with the third episode of Mo mineralization in the eastern Qinling–Dabie belt. We postulate that the Donggou Mo-related porphyry granite formed by reworking of North China lower crust with significant input of juvenile material. The widely distributed δ7Li values indicate different sources of Li in the oilfield waters. Even in the same oil-bearing tectonic belt (e.g., Shizigou), there is a high degree of heterogeneity of δ7Li values. The origin of oilfield waters in the Qaidam Basin is restricted by the various genetic types of water, including residual water from ancient lakes, alpine snow water infiltrating along deep and large faults, springs and deep hydrothermal fluid. Oilfield waters represent an important source of lithium resources to meet increasing global demand. However, the distribution of Li resources in the western Qaidam Basin is still unclear, and the enrichment mechanism of Li remains to be explained. In this study, we present new hydrochemical data for all the oil-bearing anticlines in the Qaidam Basin. Oilfield waters in the Nanyishan and Dafengshan oilfields are characterized by Li concentrations ranging from 110.1 to 237.5 mg/L, and Mg concentrations ranging from 0.70 to 1.52 g/L. These concentrations are readily recovered and represent a key target for oilfield water exploitation in the future. In oilfield water samples from the Qaidam Basin, δ7Li values show large variation, possibly implying multiple sources of Li, including residual water from ancient lakes, alpine snow water infiltrating along deep faults, springs, and deep hydrothermal fluids. δ7Li values of the oilfield waters from Nanyishan and Dafengshan are lower than those of the river and spring water samples, but close to those of volcanic rocks around the world. These results indicate that the oilfield waters with significant Li-enrichment are associated with local hydrothermal activity. This is the first time that the δ7Li data of oilfield waters in the Qaidam Basin have been reported. Abstract: Mesozoic granitoids are ubiquitous in China and have attracted the interests of many geologists not only because of their mineralization potential but also because they carry information on source material, emplacement mechanisms and crustal architecture. Most of the plutons were created by multi-stage magma emplacement and offer particular challenge for unraveling the emplacement and cooling history. A multi-isotope approach combined with single grain dating analyses provides a means to understand magma geneses even in complex magmatic settings. This study presents Rb–Sr isotope data for K-feldspar megacrysts and U–Pb ages and Hf isotopic composition for zircons from the composite Heyu pluton exposed in eastern Qinling orogen, central China. Zircon U–Pb concordia ages of 150 and 140Ma and single K-feldspar Rb–Sr isochron ages between 133 and 121Ma were obtained from early and late magmatic stages, respectively, consistent with slow cooling or isotopic re-equilibration of the Rb–Sr K-feldspar system. The distinct K-feldspar morphology of early and late intrusive phases is controlled largely by the emplacement depth, likely to be associated with a gravity-driven sinking model. Corresponding zircon εHf(t) values are −21.8 to −18.0 and −17.2 to −10.3 for early and late intrusive phases, respectively, indicating different magma sources. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The location of the suture zone between the South China and Indochina blocks in northwest Vietnam has been under debate for decades. Generally, the boundary between these blocks has been placed along (1) the Ailaoshan–Red River zone or (2) the Song Ma zone. The Sin Quyen Formation, lying between these zones, was previously regarded as a Palaeo- and Mesoproterozoic sequence. It comprises its provenance and tectonic affinity. We analysed detrital zircons from two paragneisses and one migmatite of the Sin Quyen Formation employing laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry U–Pb dating techniques. U–Pb ages of these zircons show three main periods of zircon formation: ∼2.7–3.0, ∼2.2–2.5, and ∼1.8 Ga, suggesting that Sin Quyen rocks were mainly derived from Palaeoproterozoic and Archaean basement units. Inasmuch as the South China basement comprises rocks of similar ages, we conclude that the Sin Quyen Formation belongs to that block. Our new data strengthen the view that the suture between the South China and Indochina blocks is located within the Song Ma zone. In addition, zircons with U–Pb ages >3.0 thousand million years represent the oldest minerals reported in northwest Vietnam so far, indicating the existence of Mesoarchaean crustal remnants in this region. Neoproterozoic sedimentary sequences in the South China Block provide great opportunity to examine the tectonic evolution and crustal accretion during this period. This study presents U-Pb ages and Hf isotope composition of detrital zircons and Nd isotope composition of whole rocks of the Neoproterozoic sequences from the Yangtze Block, part of the South China Block. Age patterns of detrital zircons imply that the source area experienced three major periods of magmatic activity at 2,300-2,560, 1,900-2,100 and 770-1,000 Ma and two major episodes of juvenile crust accretion at 2,600-3,400 and 770-1,000 Ma. The maximum age of the Gucheng glaciation can be restricted at ~768 Ma from the youngest detrital zircon ages, probably corresponding to the Kaigas glaciation rather than to the Sturtian glaciation. High La/Sc ratio and low Cr/Th, Sc/Th and Co/Th ratios of the sedimentary rocks point to a derivation from dominantly felsic upper continental crustal sources, whereas large variation of ε( t) and ε( t) values indicates that mantle-derived magmatic rocks also provided material to the sedimentary sequences in different degrees. The shift in ε( t) values of whole rocks and U-Pb age spectra of detrital zircons records the evolution from a back-arc to retro-arc foreland to a rift basin. Age distribution of detrital zircons from the Neoproterozoic sequences, compared with those of the major crustal blocks of Rodinia, implies that the position of the Yangtze Block was probably adjacent to northern India rather than between Australia and Laurentia before the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent. Abstract: This study employs the single grain pyrite Rb–Sr technique to date mineralization, using the example of the Linglong lode gold deposit, Jiaodong Peninsula, eastern China. The gold deposits in this area are interpreted to have a consistent spatial–temporal relationship with widespread Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous magmatism in eastern China, likely related to lithospheric thinning around 120 Ma. Pyrite of the Linglong gold mine contains different types of mineral inclusions such as sericite and feldspar that cause distinguishable variations in Rb- and Sr contents and Rb/Sr ratios. Four pyrite samples from veins of different mineralization stages give an average isochron age of 120.6±0.9 Ma. Analyses of one quartz and two sericite samples yield isochron ages between 122 Ma and 120 Ma. Dating of mineralization is often hampered by disequilibrium of isotopic systems and/or the lack of suitable minerals for dating purposes. Hence, the successful attempt of the single grain Rb–Sr technique of pyrite, which occurs as a common mineral phase in orebodies and is genetically related to the mineralization, has great potential for precise geochronology of hydrothermal mineral deposits. At present, reliable and precise ship detection in high-resolution optical remote sensing images affected by wave clutter, thin clouds, and islands under complex sea conditions is still challenging. At the same time, object detection algorithms in satellite remote sensing images are challenged by color, aspect ratio, complex background, and angle variability. Even the results obtained based on the latest convolutional neural network (CNN) method are not satisfactory. In order to obtain more accurate ship detection results, this paper proposes a remote sensing image ship object detection method based on a brainlike visual attention mechanism. We refer to the robust expression mode of the human brain, design a vector field filter with active rotation capability, and explicitly encode the direction information of the remote sensing object in the neural network. The progressive enhancement learning model guided by the visual attention mechanism is used to dynamically solve the problem, and the object can be discovered and detected through time–space information. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, a remote sensing ship object detection data set is established, and the proposed method is compared with other state-of-the-art methods on the established data set. Experiments show that the object detection accuracy of this method and the ability to capture image details have been improved. Compared with other models, the average intersection rate of the joint is 80.12%, which shows a clear advantage. Abstract: The Sm–Nd isotopic system, one of the important techniques for dating and geochemical tracing, has been widely used in geosciences. Precise and accurate measurements of Nd isotopic ratios are more difficult to achieve for microsamples that contain less than 50ngNd, when routine Nd+ technique is applied on thermal ionization mass spectrometer (TIMS). Compared to Nd+ technique, the NdO+ technique, owing to more efficient ionization, is a better choice for high precision measurements of Nd isotopic ratios of micro- or low-content samples. This study presents measurement results of sub-nanogram size samples of standard reference solution and rock-powder using NdO+ technique on the latest TIMS (GV product IsoProbe-T). Sixteen rock-powder references and four reference solutions were measured both by NdO+ and Nd+ techniques for an evaluation of accuracy and precision of measurements obtained by the NdO+ technique. Results show that analytical precision and reproducibility of NdO+ measurements of sub-nanogram Nd is comparable with those obtained by the Nd+ measurements of samples containing 200ngNd. Internal precision of the 143Nd/144Nd ratios achieved with both techniques is better than 0.003%. Abstract: The Mesoproterozoic rifting and accompanying magmatism and sedimentation in the North China Craton are interpreted to be related to the breakup of the Paleoproterozoic supercontinent Columbia. This study presents zircon ages and Nd–Hf isotopic data of the low-grade Mesoproterozoic Zhaertai Group exposed along the northern margin of the North China Craton. Sandstones of the Zhaertai Group contain detrital zircon populations of about 2500Ma, which originated from the late Archean basement rocks underlying this group. A close match between the U–Pb ages and the TDM (Hf) ages with high initial ε Hf values (at 2500Ma) for the detrital zircon grains imply a juvenile origin for protoliths of the basement rocks. Sedimentation of the Zhaertai Group likely began around 1750Ma tentatively constrained by the formation time of an intercalated volcanic layer. The volcanic rocks have low initial ε Nd values of −8.0 to −8.5 (at 1750Ma), similar to those of contemporaneous mafic dyke swarms within the North China Craton, which have been interpreted to be related either to the breakup of the supercontinent Columbia or to the post-collisional collapse of the Trans-North China Orogen. A progressive increase of ε Nd values of whole-rock samples upwards in the stratigraphic sequence likely indicates an increase of juvenile material with time probably related to the contribution of Mesoproterozoic mantle-derived rocks. Both low procedural blank and high-precision measurements of isotopic ratios are crucial for the analysis of micro samples. This study reports a chemical procedure of ultra-low blank for the high precision measurement of Sr isotopic ratios on micro samples (<1 ng level) using a new-type thermal ionization mass spectrometer IsoProbe-T, with a case study of single-grain Rb-Sr isochron dating on phlogopite from the Fuxian kimberlite in Liaoning Province. This method can be employed in studies of high resolution Rb-Sr geochronology and Sr isotopic geochemistry and thus will broaden application of the Rb-Sr isotopic system to earth sciences. The Beihuaiyang zone of the Dabie ultrahigh-pressure collisional belt, which was formed by the Early Mesozoic collision of the North and South China (Yangtze) Blocks, is diversely interpreted as an active or a passive sedimentary sequence. It comprises the Luzhenguan and Foziling complexes. Six granitoid rocks of the Luzhenguan complex are dated at 770 Ma to 720 Ma and one schist sample also contains detrital zircons of 760 Ma to 720 Ma. These data indicate that this complex was of the South China affinity and probably originated from the northern Yangtze Block. Two quartzite samples of the Foziling complex contain abundant detrital zircons of Archean to Paleozoic ages, clustering around 2.5 Ga, 1.9–1.8 Ga, 1.0–0.7 Ga, and 0.5–0.4 Ga. This age spectrum demonstrates a mixed source of these two blocks. The youngest zircons suggest a Paleozoic deposition along an active continental margin south of the North China Block, while these Late Proterozoic zircons are characterized for the Yangtze Block. Subsequently, it is suggested that a terrain drifted from the northern Yangtze Block in Early Paleozoic must have been situated to the southern margin of the North China Block to provide material source prior to the final collision in Early Mesozoic. The Moldanubian zone of the Black Forest, Germany, part of the internal zone of the central European Variscan belt, exposes high-pressure metamorphic rocks as small eclogite lenses in host gneisses. We report zircon U-Pb and PbPb ages and garnet Sm-Nd and Pb-Pb ages for five eclogites. The less mobile trace element contents of these eclogites are similar to those of mid-ocean ridge basalts but have moderate to highly fractionated concentrations of the rare earth elements, enrichments in the incompatible elements, and negative anomalies in the high-field strength elements. Initial ∈[sub Nd] values range from -3 to +1.8, and initial[sup 87]Sr/[sup 86]Sr ratios range from 0.7040 to 0.7062. These characteristics of the eclogites suggest an origin from mantle-derived magmas contaminated either by evolved crustal material during intrusion or altered by fluid before or during eclogitization. A combination of zircon U-Pb and Pb-Pb evaporation dates of the eclogites constrains a magmatic episode between ∼486 and ∼445 Ma. This episode was contemporary with the early Paleozoic mafic to ultramafic magmatism in the eastern part of the Variscan belt and probably represents an early Paleozoic rift-stage product. Garnets subjected to the stepwise acid-leaching method from three eclogites yield Sm-Nd isochron ages of about 348-340 Ma, similar to the dates previously reported. The same garnets give less precise Devonian to Early Carboniferous Pb-Pb isochron ages of 406 ± 31 Ma, 386 ± 21 Ma, and 353 ± 89 Ma, which probably date to an earlier stage of the Variscan convergence. This study presents zircon ages and geochemical and Nd-isotopic data for metagranites and quartzites from the Susong high-pressure metamorphic zone in the Dabie–Sulu ultrahigh-pressure collisional belt. This belt belongs to the eastern part of the Qinling–Dabie orogenic belt that formed during Early Mesozoic collision of the North and South China Blocks. Two metagranites give zircon U–Pb model ages of 785±7 and 205±12 Ma, likely representing a Late Proterozoic magmatic event and an Early Mesozoic overprint. They have low initial &epsiv;Nd-values (−12.4 and −11.1 at 780 Ma), favouring a crustal origin. Flat heavy rare earth elements (REE) patterns (GdN/YbN∼1.2) probably reflect that melting took place at a shallow crustal section where heavy-REE-bearing mineral phases are unstable. All zircons of three quartzites yield young discordant U–Pb ages and define a discordia with U–Pb model ages of 784±6 and 213±3 Ma, identical to those of the metagranites. We assume that all detrital zircons had lost radiogenic Pb prior to the Early Mesozoic overprint, probably facilitated by fluid participation during a metamorphic event contemporaneous with the intrusion of the metagranites. This simultaneous metamorphic and magmatic event was probably related to a rift setting along the periphery of the Yangtze (South China) Block during Late Proterozoic. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Two homogeneous zircons, zircon 91500 (Kuehl Lake, Ontario) and Phalaborwa zircon (South Africa), were analysed to study U and Pb behaviour during stepwise HF acid leaching. From the Phalaborwa zircon, ∼11% of radiogenic Pb and ∼7% of U were extracted into solution at the first leaching step and a reverse discordance was obtained. After extraction of ∼27.0% of the total radiogenic Pb budget and ∼24.5% of the U, the zircon residue gave concordant ages. It contained ∼75.8% of total radiogenic 206Pb budget, ∼76.4% of total radiogenic 207Pb budget, and ∼68.0% of total radiogenic 208Pb budget, indicating different mobility of Pb isotopes. The 208Pb*/206Pb* ratios of the solutions and the residue decrease systematically from ∼1.10 to ∼0.60. This pattern probably demonstrates that domains with different Th/U ratios were successively sampled during acid attack. In contrast to Phalaborwa zircon, only ∼1% of the total radiogenic Pb budget was extracted in leaching steps from each of three zircon 91500 fragments. Highly reverse discordant ages are observed in the first leaching step of the Phalaborwa zircon. This phenomenon is consistent with the recent studies of Mattinson [Partial dissolution analysis (PDF) of zircon: past, present, future. 11th Annual V. M. Goldschmidt Conference, Abstract volume, 3368.pdf. (2001)] and Davis and Krogh [Chem. Geol. 172 (2000) 41]. Due to the fractionations between U and Pb and between radiogenic Pb isotopes observed in the first leaching step, discordant domains or zonings of zircons have to be completely removed in the leaching steps to avoid any artificial high 207Pb*/206Pb* ratio in the residues. Evaluation of data from leaching studies shows that the extractability of Pb is positively correlated with the total radiogenic Pb budgets in zircons and subsequently with U contents and ages of zircons, indicating an important role of radiation damage. This correlation is consistent with the fact that old zircons with high U contents are much more susceptible to Pb loss than younger ones with low U contents. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Granitic rocks forming in the syn- to post-orogenic stages can trace the compositional and structural complexity of the crust beneath an orogenic belt. The Qinling orogenic belt undertook multiple stages of tectonics and magmatism, resulting in the multifaceted evolution and compositional diversity of the crust. In the present study, the Guangtoushan and Miba plutons in South Qinling were chosen to reveal the crustal heterogeneity in study area via isotopic geochemistry and zircon geochronology. The Guangtoushan pluton was emplaced between ~215 Ma and ~202 Ma and the Miba pluton formed at ~213 Ma, as constrained by zircon U-Pb isotopic dating. Granitic rocks of the Miba pluton are characterized by amphibole bearing and homogeneous composition, with relatively depleted Sr-Nd isotopic compositions (initial 87Sr/86Sr values of 0.7060 to 0.7084 and initial εNd values of −5.4 to −9.5) and high Pb isotopic values. The Guangtoushan pluton contains muscovite and complex inherited zircon grains and has variable Sr-Nd isotopic composition (initial 87Sr/86Sr values of 0.7050 to 0.7091 and initial εNd values of −4.5 to −12.9) and low Pb isotopic values. Felsic magmas of the Guangtoushan pluton should be derived mainly from meta-sedimentary rocks beneath South Qinling, while the Miba pluton originated primarily from partial melting of meta-igneous rocks. The compositional diversity recorded in the Early Mesozoic plutons was caused by the heterogeneous crust, and partial melting was induced by heating of the up-welling asthenosphere in a post-collision setting. • Sedimentary rocks in the Baoshan Block contain dominantly Precambrian zircon. • This block might not be involved into orogenic events along the Gondwana margin. • Sedimentary sources were akin to old crustal rocks of Northwest India. The Baoshan Block in western Yunnan is one of the major micro-continents in the eastern Tethyan orogenic belt, but its provenance and crustal evolution remain enigmatic. Sedimentary rocks prior to an amalgamation of continental blocks recorded key information about crustal evolution and the origin of terranes and can provide vital data for understanding orogenic processes. Here, we present U–Pb ages and Hf isotopic data on detrital zircon and Nd isotopic data on whole rock for Paleozoic sedimentary rocks from the Baoshan Block to constrain their provenance and tectonic history. Crystallization ages of detrital zircon grains illustrate that the magmatic activities of the source areas occurred at ~2.5 Ga, ~1.9 Ga, and ~1.0–0.5 Ga, with a major peak occurring around 0.95 Ga. Several old zircon grains from >3.0 Ga up to ~3.8–3.7 Ga were observed. Zircon Hf isotopic data from one sample suggest that the major crustal growth occurred at ~2.1 Ga. Cambrian to Carboniferous sedimentary rocks showed similar Nd isotopic features with two–stage Nd model ages of approximately 2.1 Ga. The age distribution patterns and isotopic data suggest that detritus material in the Paleozoic sedimentary rocks was mainly derived from continental terrane similar to the Indian craton, implying that the Baoshan Block was likely adjacent to Northwest India before the collision of the Baoshan and Simao blocks. No significant inputs of the juvenile crust were documented in the Nd–Hf isotopic data, appearing to be incompatible with a magmatic arc setting for the Baoshan Block during the Paleozoic. The phenomenon of DNA phosphorothioation (DNA sulfur modification) is widespread among prokaryotes and may serve as a mechanism to restrict gene transfer among bacteria. DndE is one of five essential proteins that are required for the DNA phosphorothioation process. However, its exact biochemical role in sulfur modification of DNA remains unclear. In this study, the DndE protein homologue from Salmonella enterica serovar Cerro 87 was overexpressed, purified and crystallized. The crystals of the DndE protein diffracted to 2.7 Å resolution and belonged to space group P3121. The Kashan plutons are situated in the central part of Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc recording subduction-related magmatism within the Alpine-Himalayan orogeny in Iran. These rocks consist of different calc-alkaline plutonic rocks including gabbro, gabbroic diorite, microdiorite, monzodiorite, tonalite, granodiorite, and granite. The plutons were emplaced into the Jurassic sedimentary units (Shemshak Formation) and the Eocene calc-alkaline volcanic and pyroclastic rocks. New U-Pb zircon ages show that the Kashan plutons formed during two main periods at 35.20±0.71 Ma in the Late Eocene (Priabonian) and at 18.90±0.84, 19.26±0.83, 19.30±1.2, and 17.3±1.8 Ma in the Early Miocene (Burdigalian). The reported events in the Kashan plutons imply the final phases of subductionrelated magmatism before the collision which happened between the Arabian and Iranian plates in the Middle Miocene. An increasing number of functional studies shows that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in many aspects of cellular physiology and fulfills a wide variety of regulatory roles at almost every stage of gene expression. A major feature of lncRNAs is the highly folded modular domains in transcripts. With improved modeling and definition, it is now feasible to explore and gain novel insights into the structural–functional relationship of lncRNAs and their association with complex human diseases. In this study, we utilized an automatic computational pipeline to scan lncRNA architecture at the genome-wide scale and to obtain a landscape of functional domains. An accurate alignment algorithm was performed to identify 40 triple pairs between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), lncRNAs and diseases. In order to detect the potential contribution of a lncRNA's modular character, we estimated and evaluated structural rearrangements, which were derived from disease-associated SNPs. In addition, we focused on annotating and comparing the global and local heterogeneity of the wild-type and mutant lncRNAs. Assessing lncRNA architecture has yielded how variations in structured regions impact the molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs and how SNPs disturb binding and recruiting ability. These observations are the first glimpse of the 'lncRNA structurome' and make it possible to robustly explore and assemble intricate space conformation and their stress variation. This result also successfully demonstrates that lncRNA transcripts contain a complex structural landscape and highlights the proposed contribution of lncRNA structure in controlling RNA functions and disease mechanisms. Disulfidptosis is a newly discovered form of cell death. Not yet clearly classified as programmed cell death or accidental cell death. This study aimed to create a novel disulfidptosis-related lncRNA index (DLI) that can be used to predict survival and chemotherapy drugs sensitivity in patients with cervical cancer. First of all, we found lncRNAs associated with disulfidptosis between cervical cancer tissues and normal tissues. By LASSO-Cox analysis, overlapping lncRNAs were then used to construct lncRNA index associated with disulfidptosis, which can be served to predict the prognosis of patients with CC, especially the chemotherapy drugs sensitivity. ROC curves and PCA based on DLI and clinical signatures were developed and demonstrated to have good predictive potential. In addition, differences in immune cell subset infiltration and differences in immune checkpoint expression between high-DLI and low-DLI groups were analyzed, and we investigated the relationship between the DLI and tumor mutation burden (TMB). In summary, we constructed a lncRNA prediction index associated with disulfidptosis. This has important clinical implications, including improving the predictive value of cervical cancer patients and providing a biomarker for cervical cancer guiding individualized treatment. Sediments or clastic rocks can record the evolution history of basins, orogenic processes, crustal uplift and erosion, and even paleo-environments. Detrital minerals such as zircon, garnet, and apatite are useful media for studies of sedimentary sources and basin evolution. Detrital zircon has been widely taken as an indicator for provenances and tectonic evolution of geological terrenes via age distribution patterns. Apatite can remain stable during erosion and transportation and is also considered as an ideal object for source tracing. This mineral normally contains high Sr and negligible Rb. Its Sr isotopic composition can remain almost unchanged after crystallization. Unlike isotopic ages of detrital minerals, Apatite isotopic compositions have been less frequently used for tracing the provenance of sedimentary rocks in the last few decades. In the present study, we report on the Sr isotopic composition of individual apatite grains of Neogene and Jurassic conglomerates from the Hui-Cheng basin in the South Qinling orogenic belt, obtained via thermal ionization mass spectrometry. Detrital apatite grains of Jurassic rocks have narrow ranges of 87Sr/86Sr values from 0.7076 to 0.7100, but those of Neogene rocks gave variant 87Sr/86Sr values from 0.7055 to 0.7534, providing distinct evidence for complex sources of Neogene sedimentary rocks. Analytical results show that the distribution patterns of 87Sr/86Sr values of single-grain detrital apatite fit the distribution patterns of detrital zircon U-Pb from the isotopic ages very well. The Yangtze Block records Neoproterozoic magmatism and sedimentation related to the breakup of Rodinia and is an important piece in the reconstruction of the supercontinent. However, the tectonic setting and position of this block in Rodinia remain a subject of debate. In the present study, we report the zircon U-Pb ages and Hf isotopic composition of zircon and geochemical and Nd-Pb isotopic compositions for meta-volcanic rocks exposed in the Zhangbaling uplift of the NE Yangtze Block. The volcanic rocks, dominated by rhyolite and dacite, belong to the calc-alkaline series and show geochemical characteristics of arc rocks. Zircon U-Pb isotopic ages show that volcanic rocks in the Xileng Formation formed at ca. 790 Ma and ca. 760–700 Ma peaking at ~740 Ma. The late-stage volcanism was widely exposed in the uplift, characterized by a temporal-spatial trend becoming younger southwards. The old volcanic rocks have low initial εNd (−11.0) and εHf (−19.7 to −8.2) values and low Pb isotopic ratios, likely indicating an origin from ancient basement rocks underneath the Yangtze Block. The younger ones, being similar to continental arc andesite in trace element compositions, have relatively high initial εNd (mostly −4.6 to 0.5) and εHf (−0.4 to 8.8) values and high Pb isotopic ratios. These isotopic features point to an origin from the partial melting of juvenile crustal rocks. Sedimentary rocks of the Xileng Formation and the overlying strata also contain numerous zircon grains of ~700 Ma to ~630 Ma. Detrital zircon of clastic rocks has been widely recognized as a powerful tool for the study of crustal uplift, which is of great significance for understanding multi-sphere interaction. However, young detrital zircons can only roughly constrain the depositional time of the strata, and commonly used zircon age probability density and kernel density estimations cannot provide sufficient evidence to reveal spatio-temporal differences in tectonic uplift. The basins developed in active continental margins usually contain abundant magmatic rocks, which can provide insights into basin evolution and crustal deformation when combined with sedimentary characteristics. In this study, we report detrital zircon ages of Late Mesozoic clastic rocks from the Boli Basin, being part of the Great Sanjiang Basin Group in eastern NE China, which is strongly affected by the Paleo-Pacific subduction. In conjunction with the age data of coeval magmatic rocks and potential sedimentary sources of basement rocks adjacent to the basin, the geochronologic results of this study provide solid evidence for the formation of the Boli Basin and the spatio-temporal evolution of the crustal uplift in northeastern China. The Boli Basin went through multi-phase tectonic evolution of syn-rift and post-rift stages, based on the zircon age data of clastic and igneous rocks. When the geographical distribution characteristics of potential sedimentary sources and their percentages of contribution are taken into account, two stages of eastward migration of the crustal uplift and two episodes of basin destruction caused by the tectonic extension and subsequent compression can be proposed for the Boli Basin. These processes were caused successively by the rolling back of the subducted Paleo-Pacific slab, the docking of the Okhotomorsk block along the eastern continental margin of East Asia, and the transition of the subduction zone by the collision of the Okhotomorsk block. The Ghohroud granitoids (GG), containing mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) are located in the central part of the Urumieh‐Dokhtar Magmatic Arc (UDMA) in central Iran. They are associated with the subduction‐related magmatism in the Alpine‐Himalayan orogenic belt. The GG are comprised of a variety of intermediate and felsic rocks, including tonalite, granodiorite, granite, diorite porphyry and monzodiorite. The MMEs are gabbroic diorite and tonalite in composition and characterized by a fine‐grained hypidiomorphic microgranular texture with occasional chilled margins. They show rounded, sharp or irregular contact with the host granitoids. The occurrences of quartz, K‐feldspar and corroded plagioclase indicate that MMEs are the products of mixing between mantle and crust‐derived magmas. New ages of zircon U–Pb dating reveal that the GG in the Kashan area emplaced at ca. 19–17 Ma (Burdigalian). All the samples of MMEs and granitoid host rocks in this study are metaluminous and calc‐alkaline with I‐type affinities. They are enriched in light rare earth elements (LREEs) and show slight negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.36–0.95). These features in a combination with the relative depletion in Nb, Ta, Ti and P, indicate the granitoids and MMEs are closely associated with subduction‐related magmas at an active continental margin. The host rocks yield relatively homogeneous isotopic compositions of initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios ranging from 0.706036 to 0.707055, εNd(t) values varying from −2.25 to 0.8, and the Nd model ages (TDM) vary in a limited range of 0.70–0.96 Ga. The MMEs show similar initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.706420–0.707366), εNd(t) values (−1.32 to −0.27), TDM (0.68–1.09 Ga) and Pb isotopic compositions with host granitoids, which imply they attained isotopic equilibration during magma mingling and mixing. In combination with the petrographic, chemical and isotopic results, we suggest that the origin of MMEs and their host rocks were related to the interaction between crust‐derived melts and mantle‐derived mafic magmas. Yanshanian magmatisms are intensive in the eastern Jiangnan orogen and can be divided into early (150–136 Ma) and late (136–120 Ma) stages. About these granitic rocks, the petrogenesis and associated tectonic setting are still hotly debated. The Taiping–Huangshan complex, a representative granitic rock in this region, is selected to perform geochemical studies. Three lithologic units have been identified in the Taiping–Huangshan complex: granodiorite, monzogranite, and alkali‐feldspar granite with zircon U–Pb dating results of 149–144 Ma, 148 Ma, and 135–131 Ma, respectively, belonging to the early stage for the granodiorite and monzogranite, and late stage for the alkali‐feldspar granite. The granodiorite and monzogranite have similar major and trace element characteristics with intermediate‐acidic SiO2 contents ranging from 65.9 to 69.7 wt.%, low Mg# values of 35.8–38.4, enriched LREE, Pb, Th, and U contents, and weak Eu anomalies (δEu = 0.71–0.79). The alkali‐feldspar granite is characterized by high SiO2 contents (73.3–76.6 wt.%), low Mg# (2.6–10.0), enriched Th, U, Ta, Pb, and Nd, depleted high‐field‐strength elements, and pronounced negative Eu anomalies (δEu = 0.01–0.19). The granodiorite and monzogranite have consistent εHf(t) (−5.38 to −9.41) and δ18O (7.18‰ to 11.00‰) values, while the alkali‐feldspar granite has elevated εHf(t) values (−0.96 to −6.48) and δ18O values (6.27‰ to 8.34‰). Integrated geochemical characteristics and batch partial melting modelling constrain that the early stage granitic rocks derived from ca. 8% batch melting of the Neoproterozoic juvenile crust, and the late‐stage granites derived from a similar crust source with a little contribution from mantle. From early to late stage, the tectonic setting translated from post‐orogenic to anorogenic and the later corresponded to a back‐arc extensional setting as increasing of the slab subducted angle of the Palaeo‐Pacific Plate. The Qinling Orogen resulted from the collision between the North and South China blocks in the Triassic. Mesozoic granitoids, ranging from the Triassic to the Cretaceous, are widely distributed in this orogen, and they provide excellent clues for understanding the crustal evolution and geodynamic evolution of the orogenic belt. The Triassic belt is mostly located in the South Qinling, whereas the Cretaceous belt is located mostly in the North Qinling. The Taibai complex pluton is located at the conjunction of the two belts. Here we present a data set comprising zircon U-Pb dating and elemental and Sr-Nd isotopic geochemistry for Late Mesozoic granite and microgranular enclaves (MME) exposed in the Taibai complex pluton. The granite and MME yield concordant U-Pb zircon ages of 124 to 118 Ma, indicating that they were products of roughly simultaneous magmatism in the Late Mesozoic. The granite rocks are high-K, calc-alkaline, and weakly peraluminous in compositions, and they are characterized by enrichment in large ion lithophile elements (e. g., Rb, Ba), depletion in high field strength elements (e.g., Nb, Ta, Zr, Ti), and variable Sr/Y ratios of 7.64 to 63.6. Low MgO, Cr, and Ni contents imply that the magma(s) were essentially crust-derived. Both the granite and the MME show relative depletion in Sr-Nd isotopic composition (initial 87Sr/86Sr of 0.704 4 to 0.706 7, initial εNd values of −3.4 to −2.6), suggesting that the magma(s) originated from juvenile crustal rocks. These Sr-Nd isotopic characteristics are significantly different from those of other Late Mesozoic granitoids exposed elsewhere in the Qinling orogenic belt, which formed from much older and enriched sources and with negligible contributions from mantle or juvenile crust. We propose a reworking event of the juvenile crust during the Late Mesozoic that was triggered by the tectonic extension and subsequent asthenospheric upwelling that occurred in eastern China. Sodium/iodide symporter (NIS) acts as a vital role in regulation of iodide uptake in thyroid cancer. However, the efficient approach to increase NIS expression and the mechanism of NIS-mediated iodide uptake in thyroid cancer remain unclear. Small activating RNA (saRNA) was used to promote NIS expression. And the cell viability, apoptosis, and autophagy were detected using Cell count-kit 8 (CCK-8), Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining, and GFP-LC3 immunofluorescence assays, respectively. The protein levels of caspase 3, Bax, Bcl-2, ATG5, ATG12, LC3B Ⅱ to LC3B Ⅰ, Beclin 1, P62, AMPK, mTOR, P70S6K, actin, and phosphorylation of AMPK, mTOR, P70S6K were determined by western blotting. Moreover, a nude murine node with transplanted NC-dsRNA or NIS-482-transfected SW579 cells was used to examine the effect of NIS-mediated autophagy in vivo. And the levels of caspase 3 and ki67 were examined by immunohistochemical staining assay. saRNA mediated NIS mRNA and protein upregulated in SW579 cells. saRNA-mediated NIS expression inhibited cell proliferation, induced apoptosis and autophagy, and promoted iodide uptake in SW579 cells. Moreover, the effects of NIS on cells were enhanced by autophagy activator Rapamycin whereas reversed by autophagy inhibitor 3-Methyladenine (3-MA). For mechanism analysis, we found that NIS upregulation exerted the effects on cell proliferation, apoptosis, autophagy, and iodide uptake via regulating AMPK/mTOR pathway. We also demonstrated that saRNA-mediated NIS expression promoted iodide uptake in vivo. saRNA-mediated NIS expression acted as a critical role in increasing iodide uptake via AMPK/mTOR pathway in thyroid cancer. The Qaidam Basin on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is well endowed with a variety of critical metals, such as Li and Rb. However, little is known about the distribution, source, and enrichment mechanisms of these elements. In this paper, we present results of systematic geochemical and H-O-B isotopic analyses of brines in the Tertiary and Quaternary sediments of the Qaidam basin. The results reveal that the paleobrines from oil-bearing anticlines at Dafengshan, Nanyishan, Youquanzi, Jiandingshan, and Jianshishan are significantly enriched in Li and Rb, whose contents are 81.1–128.9 mg L−1 and 4.5–29.2 mg L−1, respectively, reaching levels of economic significance. High Rb contents (up to 12.5 mg L−1) and well-endowment of Li also characterize the Dongtai, Xitai, Yiliping, and Senie salt lakes in the Qaidam Basin. The Tertiary paleobrine average in δD and δ18O at −40.7‰ and 2.84‰, respectively. The paleobrine with the highest Li and Rb has δD and δ18O values close to magmatic water. The δ11B values are lower than those of river water but close to those of geothermal fluids, suggesting that replenishment by deep magmatic hydrothermal fluid is most likely the key mechanism for the anomalous enrichment of these elements in the paleobrines, though evaporation and water-rock reactions have contributed to the critical metal mineralization. The anomalous enrichment of Li and Rb in modern salt lake brines is closely related to the input of volcanic geothermal water. The relatively high Li and Rb contents of intercrystalline brines in salt lakes of the western Qaidam Basin and the increase of Li and Rb contents with increasing depth were caused by upwelling of local paleobrines along the fault zones. It is widely believed that the melting of mantle wedge in a subduction zone is triggered by the influx of fluids. However, experimental petrology studies have yielded conflicting results regarding temperatures for the wet solidus of mantle metasomatite, either below or above that of mantle wedge. In the latter case, the influx of fluids cannot trigger mantle melting, particularly in a cold subduction zone. Late Paleozoic magmatic rocks in the Western Yunnan Tethyan belt have been interpreted as being products of the first-stage subduction-related magmatism in the cold subduction zone and are thought to carry crucial information about mantle–wedge melting. Here, we report zircon ages and whole-rock geochemical data for these magmatic rocks to identify both the origin of the magmatism and the mechanism of mantle melting. Rock samples collected from the Nanlianshan complex and the Daxinshan Formation yielded zircon ages ranging from 303 Ma to 297 Ma. The samples can be classified into two groups based on geochemical features. Group I magmatic rocks have higher Ba/Th and lower Th/Nb ratios and depletion in Nd Hf isotopes [ε Nd (t) 2.9–5.0; ε Hf (t) 5.7–14.6], whereas Group II rocks show relatively lower Ba/Th and higher Th/Nb ratios and relative enrichment in Nd Hf isotopes [ε Nd (t) 0.7–4.0; ε Hf (t) 4.1–10.7]. The two groups of rocks may have originated from different mantle domains that were metasomatized by slab-derived aqueous fluids and by sediment-derived melts, respectively. The major Precambrian crustal growth in the North China Craton (NCC) has been thought to have occurred at ∼2.5 Ga. Here we present secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS) and laser ablation-inductively coupled mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) zircon U-Pb ages and Hf isotope compositions from dioritic and tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite (TTG) gneisses of the Neoarchean-Paleoproterozoic metamorphic terrane in the central NCC. Zircons from the trondhjemitic samples yield emplacement ages at 2,702±7 and 2,722±9 Ma. Those from the dioritic gneiss yield an age of 2,704±14 Ma. The TTG gneisses are characterized by a Na-rich and K-poor (Na/K ratiosp2.7, 2.6) nature; strongly fractionated rare earth element patterns ([La/Yb] p35, 20); high Sr (418‰, 318‰) and Sr/Y (78, 49); low Y N (5.4‰, 6.4‰) and YbN (3.0, 3.6); and low MgO (0.89%, 1.10%), Mg# (47, 42), Cr (39‰, 20‰), and Ni (11‰, 8‰), Nb/ Ta (16, 12), which suggests that magmas were derived from the partial melting of a flatly subducted oceanic slab. The dioritic gneiss shows higher MgO (3.17%), Mg# (50), Cr (44‰), and Ni (40‰) and lower Sr/Y (22) and (La/Yb)N (8) ratios, which suggests contamination with mantle peridotite. All zircon grains from these Neoarchean gneisses yield high positive εHf (t) values that range from ε3.5 to ε7.7 and Hf model ages between 2.70 and 2.85 Ga. We propose that the widespread ∼2.5-Ga plutonic event found elsewhere in the NCC may represent a major reworking (melting) event, whereas the ∼2.7-Ga magmatism likely represents the main crustal growth of the NCC, comparable to those of other cratons worldwide [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: Two units of sedimentary carbonates in association with Neoproterozoic glaciations occur in the Lantian Formation of the Ediacaran system, equivalent to the Doushantuo Formation elsewhere in South China. Trace elements and strontium isotopes in the carbonates were analyzed by stepwise dissolutions with different strengths of acid. The results show that the carbonate component dissolved in 0.5 M acetic acid (Dissolution I) is principally composed of calcite and almost free from non-carbonate contamination. Thus its element and isotope compositions can be used to unravel the geochemical feature of water from which the carbonates precipitated. The strontium concentrations and isotope ratios, REE+Y concentrations and patterns of Dissolution I from the carbonates are similar to each other between the two units. They exhibit high strontium concentrations and high 87Sr/86Sr ratios, depletion of LREE relative to MREE and HREE, minor positive La anomalies, subtle negative Ce, Gd and Er anomalies, and near-chondritic Y/Ho ratios. These indicate that the Lantian carbonates were precipitated from the similar nature of basin water, which is devoid of trace element composition typical of normal marine carbonates but similar to those in freshwater carbonates. The negative Ce anomalies in the carbonates of the two units suggest oxygenation of the precipitation water. Therefore, the Lantian carbonates would form in a continental marginal basin, with predominant contributions from freshwater and high sedimentary rates. Since the Doushantuo–Lantian carbonate secessions may probably correspond to the chemical sediments of post-Marinoan and post-Gaskiers, it is hypothesized that the freshwater would originate from locally deglacial meltwater with significant inputs from continental weathering. Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic tracer was applied, for the first time, to identifying the sources of the particles in the East Rongbuk ice core from Mt. Qomalangma (Everest). The results show that the particles in the dirty layers originate mainly from local sources, while the particles in the non-dirty layers are consistent with the features of dust from the arid regions in northwestern India. The HYSPLIT model shows that the air trajectory goes first through northwestern India before reaching the drilling site of ice core when dust storms occur in northwestern India, confirming northwestern India as a possible source of dust in the East Rongbuk ice core. Pan-African basement rocks and the Palaeozoic cover series of the Menderes Massif are exposed around Derbent (Alasehir) in the eastern part of the Ödemis-Kiraz submassif. Garnet-mica schists of the Pan-African basement are intruded by the protoliths of orthogneisses and Triassic leucocratic orthogneisses. This study focuses on the geochronology and geochemistry of orthogneisses related to the Pan-African evolution of the Menderes Massif in latest Proterozoic time. Geochemical data suggest that the orthogneisses were derived from S-type, peraluminous, syn- to post-collisional granitoids of calc-alkaline affinity. Zircon grains from the orthogneisses, which are euhedral with typical igneous morphologies, were dated by the Pb-Pb evaporation method. Single zircon ages of two samples yielded 207 Pb/ 206 Pb ages of 561.5±1.8 Ma and 570.5±2.2 Ma. These ages are interpreted as the time of protolith emplacement of the orthogneisses. This major magmatic episode of the Menderes Massif can be attributed the Pan-African Orogeny which was related to the closure of the ocean basins and amalgamation of East and West Gondwana. The lithospheric root underneath the Dabie orogen, which is the key part of the Central Orogen of China, experienced a cycle of thickening during Triassic continent-continent collision with subsequent post-collisional collapse during the Early Cretaceous. However, the process and mechanism of how thickened lithospheric roots are removed generally remain controversial. U–Pb ages and oxygen isotopes of zircons along with whole-rock geochemistry of post-collisional mafic–intermediate dykes in the region were used to track magmatic contributions from the lower crust, and constrain magma provenance from compositionally variable reservoirs in the upper mantle. Relict zircons show evidence of recycling of subducted continental crust of South China Block that not only has the Neoproterozoic ages and experienced the Triassic metamorphism, but also contains both 18O-depleted and enriched components. A first generation of hypersthene-normative tholeiitic dykes and nepheline-normative alkaline dykes were emplaced at ca. 130–120 Ma. They are overall characterized by arc-like geochemical patterns with εNd values from −21.6 to −4.6 and initial 87Sr/86Sr from 0.7056 to 0.7094. Coeval alkaline dykes are shifted towards more depleted-mantle like compositions, indicating simultaneous melt extraction from different mantle domains and depths. In contrast, second-generation hypersthene-normative mafic dykes (ca. 115–110 Ma) show OIB-like characteristics with εNd values from −1.5 to +4.8 and initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios from 0.7039 to 0.7049, indicating an increasing contribution from upwelling asthenospheric mantle during lithospheric thinning. The temporal evolution of the geochemical characteristics of mafic melts derived from the upper mantle in the Dabie orogen is consistent with foundering of thickened lithosphere and subsequent influx of asthenospheric mantle. Extensive Mesozoic magmatism in the Qinling orogenic belt, Central China, has produced voluminous granitic plutons. In Western Qinling, the Triassic Mishuling pluton contains abundant mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs), recording magma mixing processes in the generation of the pluton. The Mishuling pluton is composed of quartz monzonite, whereas the MMEs are mainly diorite and monzonite. In this study, zircons from the MMEs are all dated by LA-ICP-MS at ca. 215 Ma, clearly consistent with the crystallization age of the host pluton. Quartz monzonites have low Mg# (43–48), Cr (30–64 ppm), and Ni (11–39 ppm) and high Th/U relative to the MMEs. Quartz monzonites are considered to have been produced by melting of Neoproterozoic mafic rocks in the northwestern part of the Yangtze Block, whereas the MMEs were likely the products of mixed mafic and felsic magmas. The mafic magmas may have been derived from partial melting of the enriched lithospheric mantle. Both the MMEs and host quartz monzonites have nearly identical Sr-Nd isotopic compositions, indicating that the hybrid melts and felsic magmas may have reached Sr-Nd isotopic equilibrium due to magma mixing. Zircon grains from the MMEs can be further divided into three types on the basis of internal texture and ε Hf (t). Overall, all these types of zircon grains have Th/U ranging from 0.18 to 1.63, typical of magmatic origin. Type-1 zircon grains show well-developed {1 0 0} and {1 1 0} prisms as well as {1 0 1} and {2 1 1} pyramids, whereas Type-2 zircon grains show well-developed {1 0 1} pyramids and {1 1 0} prisms. Types-1 and 2 zircon grains have slightly higher ε Hf (t) (–0.2 to –4.4) than those of the zircon grains from quartz monzonites (ε Hf (t) = –2.7 to –5.4), indicating crystallization from different hybrid magmas. Type-3 zircon grains have morphology and ε Hf (t) similar to and Hf concentrations lower than those of the zircon grains from quartz monzonites. We interpret that the Type-3 zircon grains were likely captured from less evolved granitic magmas and are thus xenocrysts in the MMEs. Therefore, the three types of zircon grains from the MMEs record successive magma mixing processes in deep-seated magma chambers. Numerous late Mesozoic (Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous) granitic plutons are present along the southern margin of the North China Craton (s-NCC), which belongs to the northernmost tectonic unit of the eastern Qinling orogenic belt. This tectonic unit records multiple tectonothermal and metallogenic events that occurred after continental collision of the North and South China Cratons in the late Early to Middle Triassic. This study reports the zircon U-Pb ages and the whole-rock and apatite geochemical compositions of the Taishanmiao granite, one of the largest late Mesozoic plutons in eastern Qinling. Three phases of this granite, emplaced between ∼125 and ∼113 Ma, are characterized by uniformly high SiO2 and K2O but low CaO, TFe2O3, and MgO contents and enriched Nd isotopic composition with initial ε Nd values of −13.5 to −12.7. Geochemical features reveal that these are A-type granites derived from partial melting mainly of ancient crust. Temperatures obtained from Ti-in-zircon thermometry and oxygen fugacity (f O2) data indicate that the magma(s) formed at high crystallization temperatures (∼800°–840°C) and f O2 levels (fayalite–magnetite–quartz [FMQ] buffer −1.5 to +1.5). Comparison with neighboring granites, such as the ∼150–130 Ma adakitic Heyu granite and the ∼115 Ma Donggou ore-bearing granite porphyry, implies that the Heyu granite formed from thickened crust and that the Donggou granite porphyry and Taishanmiao granite likely originated from a consistent magma system during the crustal thinning that occurred ∼125–113 Ma, except the porphyry rock was more evolved.
