The relationship between digital economy and signal information on firms' markup has been overlooked and not well explained, especially in the emerging economies. When there is information asymmetry or too much information, the export decisions of firms are not completed independently, but the result of the comprehensive trade-off of the export signals issued by the 'neighbors'. This paper discusses the impact of the development of digital economy on the markup of export firms by distinguishing two perspectives of export signal, namely herd behavior and peer effect. We find that the digital economy has a positive impact on firm markup. There is substitution effect in digital economy and export signals, and digital economy acts price bonus by influencing export signals. The growing popularity of market signals could offset some of the advantages of the digital economy on export markup for companies. In addition, our paper finds that foreign-owned firms, large-scale firms, highly competitive industries and non-digital economy industries adjust their markups more significantly when they were affected by export signals. Cold stress is one of the main abiotic stresses that affect the development and growth of kiwifruit (Actinidia arguta). Herein, we analyzed the transcriptomic data of A. arguta dormant shoots in response to low-temperature treatment, identified 52 MYB genes, and constructed a phylogenetic tree based on the encoded protein sequences. Then, the effect of one MYB gene on cold tolerance was analyzed. This gene had an open reading frame of 837 bp long and encoded 279 amino acids. Sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis revealed that this gene belongs to the R2R3-MYB family and was named AaMYB44 based on its homology to other MYB family members. Quantitative real-time PCR revealed that AaMYB44 expression was significantly induced by low temperatures but exhibited the opposite trend in cold-tolerant genotypes. Subcellular localization assays revealed the nuclear localization of the AaMYB44 protein. Furthermore, AaMYB44 was transformed into Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana) via inflorescence infection, and physiological and biochemical tests revealed that the cold resistance and antioxidant capacity of the transgenic A. thaliana were lower than those of wild-type plants. Overall, AaMYB44 might play a negative regulatory role in response to cold stress, providing new insight into the mechanism of cold tolerance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Fresh-cut fruits and vegetables have become more popular among consumers because of their nutritional value and convenience. However, the lower shelf life of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables due to processing and mechanical damage is a critical factor affecting their market expansion, and advances in preservation technology are needed to prolong their shelf life. Some traditional chemical preservatives are disliked by health-seeking consumers because of worries about toxicity. Chemical preservation is inexpensive and highly efficient, but sometimes it carries risks for human health. Biological preservation methods are safer and more appealing, but they are not applicable to large-scale production. Physical fresh-keeping methods have been used for the storage and transportation of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables due to the ease of application. This review discusses current research in fresh-keeping technology for the preservation of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables. Preservation methods include low temperature, modified atmosphere packaging, cold plasma, pulsed light, ultrasonics, ultraviolet light, and ozonated water. As promising alternatives to chemical methods, these novel processes have been evaluated singly or combined with natural preservatives or other methods to extend the shelf life of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables and to provide references and assessments for further development and application of fresh-cut fruit and vegetable preservation technology. The family with sequence similarity 3 (FAM3) gene family is a cytokine-like gene family with four members FAM3A, FAM3B, FAM3C and FAM3D. In this study, we found that FAM3D strongly chemoattracted human peripheral blood neutrophils and monocytes. To identify the FAM3D receptor, we used chemotaxis, receptor internalization, Ca(2+) flux and radioligand-binding assays in FAM3D-stimulated HEK293 cells that transiently expressed formyl peptide receptor (FPR)1 or FPR2 to show that FAM3D was a high affinity ligand of these receptors, both of which were highly expressed on the surface of neutrophils, and monocytes and macrophages. After being injected into the mouse peritoneal cavity, FAM3D chemoattracted CD11b+ Ly6G+ neutrophils in a short time. In response to FAM3D stimulation, phosphorylated ERK1/2 and phosphorylated p38 MAPK family proteins were upregulated in the mouse neutrophils, and this increase was inhibited upon treatment with an inhibitor of FPR1 or FPR2. FAM3D has been reported to be constitutively expressed in the gastrointestinal tract. We found that FAM3D expression increased significantly during colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium.
