Hole transport materials (HTMs) are essential for improving the stability and efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In this study, we have designed and synthesized a novel organic small molecule HTM, cor‐(DPA)5, characterized by a bowl‐shaped core with symmetric five diphenylamine groups. Compared to already‐known HTMs, the bowl‐shaped and relatively compact structure of cor‐(DPA)5 facilitates intermolecular π–π interactions, promotes film formations, and enhances charge transport. Consequently, the cor‐[DPA(2)]5 HTM exhibits high charge mobility, exceptional hydrophobicity, and a significantly elevated glass transition temperature. Superior to previously reported HTMs such as spiro‐OMeTAD and cor‐OMePTPA, our newly synthesized cor‐(DPA)5 HTM is free from any ionic dopants. As a result, the dopant‐free cor‐[DPA(2)]5‐based PSC demonstrates an impressive efficiency of 24.01 %, and exhibits outstanding operational stability. It retains 96 % after continuous exposure to 1 sun irradiation for 800 hours under MPP (maximum power point) tracking in ambient air. Fullerene (C60) and its derivatives are the most prevalent and efficient electron transport materials (ETMs) for state‐of‐the‐art perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Benefiting from the high performance, simple synthesis, and easy availability of raw materials, fulleropyrrolidine derivatives (FDs) are potential next‐generation ETM alternatives to currently used fullerene materials. However, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of FDs still lags far behind that of methanofullerene derivatives such as [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). Moreover, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this work, six FD ETMs are designed and synthesized, i.e., CN‐TPAX (X = H, Me, OMe, Cl, Br, I), for p‐i‐n PSCs, and obtained a champion PCE of over 25% for the CN‐TPACl ETM, outperforming all reported FDs until now. Subsequently, their performance is systematically characterized in terms of molecular characteristics, including single‐crystal structure, electronic properties, film formability/morphology, and electron dynamics, which helped reveal the terminal effects of FD ETMs on the molecular characteristics and photovoltaic performance of PSCs. This approach clarified the structure–performance relationships between the FDs and the resulting devices, highlighting the importance of the terminal design of fullerene ETMs for high‐performance PSCs. Due to the partially reduced π-conjugation of the fullerene cage, multi-functionalized fullerene derivatives exhibit remarkable fluorescent properties compared to pristine fullerenes, which have high potential for application in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). In this study two multi-functionalized C70 derivatives, C70(OCH3)10[C(COOEt)2] and C70(OCH3)10[C(COOEt)2]2, with excellent fluorescence properties, were designed and synthesized. Compared with C70(OCH3)10 containing a single kind of functional group, both the C70(OCH3)10[C(COOEt)2] and C70(OCH3)10[C(COOEt)2]2 exhibited enhanced fluorescence properties with blue fluorescence emission. The fluorescence quantum yields of the C70(OCH3)10[C(COOEt)2] and C70(OCH3)10[C(COOEt)2]2 were 1.94% and 2.30%, respectively, which were about ten times higher than that of C70(OCH3)10. The theoretical calculations revealed that the multi-functionalization of the C70 increased the S1–T1 energy gap, reducing the intersystem crossing efficiency, resulting in the higher fluorescence quantum yield of the C70 derivatives. KO t Bu-promoted [3 + 2] cycloaddition of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) with fullerenes has been developed for facile and efficient one-pot synthesis of 1,2,3,4-cyclic sulfoxide-fused [60]/[70]fullerene dihydrides, which offers a versatile platform for the site-selective preparation of various fullerene multiadducts with a wide range of functional groups. The utility of these tetra-functionalized fullerenes is demonstrated by the successful application as electron-transport materials in perovskite solar cells.

A pyrrole-fused analogue of warped nanographene, designated as deca-nitrogen doped 'WNG' (azaWNG), was synthesized through the annular fusion of decapyrroylcorannulene. The resulting azaWNG exhibited extremely limited solubility in common organic solvents and was characterized solely by mass spectrometry. Theoretical calculations revealed that azaWNG has a sunflower-like molecular structure with electron-deficient corannulene as the core and electron-rich pyrrole as the petals, demonstrating a significantly narrower energy gap compared to all-carbon WNG. To improve its solubility and facilitate precise structural characterization, iodine monochloride was utilized for edge-perchlorination of azaWNG, enabling successful separation and purification of chlorinated azaWNG in solution phase. X-ray crystallography analysis unequivocally confirmed that edge-perchlorinated azaWNG contains 5 heptagons and 11 pentagons embedded within the warped π skeleton. Cyclic voltammetry measurements indicated that the first oxidation potential of azaWNG is -0.59 V, representing the lowest value reported for any previously studied aza-nanographene. Consequently, azaWNG can be readily oxidized by AgPF 6 or even atmospheric oxygen to yield stable oxidation states, as corroborated by UV/Visible absorption spectroscopy; this behavior is attributed to the fusion of ten pyrroles around corannulene. Objectives: To study the application value of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) in children with severe infectious diseases., Methods: An analysis was performed on the clinical data and laboratory test results of 29 children with severe infection who were admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from June 2018 to December 2020. Conventional pathogen culture was performed for the 29 specimens (27 peripheral blood specimens and 2 pleural effusion specimens) from the 29 children, and mNGS pathogen detection was performed at the same time., Results: Among the 29 children, 2 tested positive by conventional pathogen culture with 2 strains of pathogen, and the detection rate was 7% (2/29); however, 20 children tested positive by mNGS with 38 strains of pathogen, and the detection rate was 69% (20/29). The pathogen detection rate of mNGS was significantly higher than that of conventional pathogen culture ( P <0.05), and mNGS could detect the viruses, fungi, and other special pathogens that conventional pathogen culture failed to detect, such as Orientia tsutsugamushi . The univariate analysis showed that gender, routine blood test results, C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, D-dimer, radiological findings, and whether antibiotics were used before admission did not affect the results of mNGS ( P >0.05)., Conclusions: Compared with conventional pathogen culture, mNGS is more sensitive for pathogen detection, with fewer interference factors. Therefore, it is a better pathogenic diagnosis method for severe infectious diseases in children.
