The application and development of ‘green’ preventive technologies in tea plantations is an important means of ensuring tea quality and ecological safety. Ecological, agronomic and biological controls are the main preventive measures used in Guizhou Province. This paper summarizes the ‘green’ preventive technologies being applied in Guizhou tea plantations, including the use of plant defense inducers to regulate tea plant responses to pathogens, natural enemies to control pest species causing damage to shoots and Trifolium repens to control the main weed species. In addition, it summarizes the integrated ‘green’ preventive technologies being used in Guizhou and provides a foundation for the ecological maintenance of tea plantations.

Compared with systematic administration such as peripheral intravenous infusion, stem cell therapy by direct injection is theoretically more effective, but some technical barriers such as low stem cell retention rate and low engraftment rate still need to be overcome before its application in humans. Stem cell therapy supported by hydrogel carriers has been increasingly studied in recent years. These hydrogels with properties similar to natural tissues are able to fabricate various forms of carriers, which include in situ forming hydrogels, ex situ forming hydrogels, surface immobilization carriers, microencapsules, and microgels. Some of them are 3D carriers and promise to overcome the technical barriers of stem cell therapy by direct injection. They have different characteristics, application, and prospect in the application of stem cell therapy by direct injection, which is summarized by this review.

In the current paper, an HPLC/UV method was developed and validated for determination of wogonin in plasma. Considerable attention was paid to the preparation of standard samples and factors affecting drug distribution. A preparation procedure was devised to simulate the conditions the drug is expected to experience in vivo while pointing to the shortcomings of previously published methods. The method was validated according to the FDA regulations and showed to be highly efficient and capable of extracting the drug and IS from the plasma accurately and precisely within the specified range of 50–500 ng mL−1. Further, the standard sample preparation of this method can be used as a guideline for other methods, particularly when highly hydrophobic drugs with considerable protein binding are involved and could be valuable in the field of bioanalysis to improve the reliability of methods.

Multi-drug resistance (MDR) poses a large obstacle to various human malignancies. For a long period, combination of multiple therapeutic agents has been the conventional method used to reverse MDR in cancer. However, it is still not an effective method as rather than cancer its serious side effects causes patient’s death. Nanoparticles (NPs) are emerging as a class of therapeutics for cancer, including overcoming MDR. In the present review, we focus on the application of NPs to reverse MDR in cancer. Several kinds of NPs developed for the reversal of MDR are summarized. In addition, investigations in vitro and in vivo are also shown to highlight the advancement in the application of NPs to reverse MDR.

Plasma cell leukemia (PCL) is a rare and aggressive plasma cell disorder, exhibiting a more unfavorable prognosis than multiple myeloma. PCL is classified into pPCL and sPCL. Recently, the IMWG has recommended new PCL definition criteria, which require the presence of ≥5% circulating plasma cells in peripheral blood smears. Due to its low incidence, research on pPCL and sPCL is limited. We conducted a retrospective study and analyzed clinical and cytogenetic data of pPCL and sPCL patients. Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were assessed by the Kaplan-Meier method, and survival distributions were compared using the log-rank test. This is a small cohort comprising 23 pPCL and 9 sPCL patients. Notably, sPCL patients showed a higher incidence of extramedullary infiltration and a higher percentage of bone marrow plasma cells (p = 0.015 and 0.025, respectively). Although no significant difference was found between the two groups in OS and PFS, a trend emerged suggesting a superior survival outcome for pPCL patients, with a higher cumulative 1-year PFS rate (38.3% vs. 13.3%) and a lower early mortality rate (mortality rate at 3 months: 15% vs. 33%). We also suggested that pPCL patients carrying t(11;14) may have a longer median survival time than individuals with other cytogenetic abnormalities, but this was not confirmed due to the small sample size. Our study revealed clinical and cytogenetic features of pPCL and sPCL patients according to the new diagnostic criteria. The findings suggested a generally better prognosis for pPCL than sPCL and the likelihood of t(11;14) translocation acting as a favorable prognostic factor in pPCL.
