In handwritten document images,there are often uneven lighting,ink stains,paper degradation,shadows and other complex conditions.In order to solve the problem that OCR effect of document image is not ideal after binarization in complex background,a binarization method of improved background estimation and local adaptive integration is proposed.In this method,the local adaptive binarization method is first used to obtain the binarization image with high recall rate,then the improved background estimation method is used to obtain the binarization image with high accuracy rate,and finally the two types of binarization images are integrated based on the connected domain method to obtain the final binarization image.Experimental results on DIBCO2013 and DIBCO2016 handwritten data sets show that the proposed method has better overall performance than Otsu,Wolf,Niblack,Sauvola,Singh and Howe.

In steel or composite gable frame construction, steel element with tapered H-seition is often used. The web with high height-thickness ratio is usually applied for tapered H-section members, where local buckling may occur. Seven steel columns with tapered H-section under cyclic loading are examined, in which the local buckling of web plate, hysteretic curves, energy dissipation. and failure mode are focused on. Various factors affecting load-carrying capacity and energy dissipation are evaluated. From experimental studies, it is found that the steel members with tapered H-section and high width-thickness ratio web may be less ductile; the hysteretic behavior may be affected by the initial imperfection of the web and the axial force. To make up the information leakage of the order preserving encryption (OPE), based on the core concept of searchable encryption, this paper proposed a novel privacy preserving range query algorithm. In the algorithm, it transformed the queried range to a specific keyword which recorded in a bloom filter, and the querying became the searching for a match. The information of the ciphertext was only related to the domain, and therefore it guaranteed the semantic security. Experiments show that the algorithm is linear for the computational overhead. This study investigated the effects of acute exercise on cognitive function and the modulatory role of fitness in the relationship between exercise and cognition. Forty-six healthy older adults, categorized into higher or lower fitness groups, completed the Stroop test after both 30 min of aerobic exercise and a reading control with a counterbalanced order. Our findings demonstrated that acute exercise leads to general improvements in 2 types of cognitive functions and to specific improvements in executive function. Additionally, older adults with initially higher fitness levels experienced greater beneficial effects from acute exercise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the influence of autogenous bone graft in cleft palate on maxillary growth in rats., Methods: Forty Wistar strain male rats aged 4 weeks were randomly divided into four groups. Each group had 10 rats. Group 1 was the unoperated control group. Group 2 had a surgically created cleft palate but unrepaired. Group 3 also had a surgically created cleft palate which followed by a two-flap palatoplasty repair immediately. Group 4(experimental group) also had a surgically created cleft palate, but the cleft palate was reconstructed by autogenous rib graft with two-flap repair. All animals were sacrificed on the 10th week after operation. The data were analyzed using SPSS. And one-way ANOVA was used for comparison of the four groups., Results: The experimental group was significantly smaller than unoperated control group and cleft palate group in the maxillary widths variables, length variables (AD),height variables(P<0.01).Except rats in the experimental group had significantly greater posterior palate width than rats in two-flap repair group(P<0.01),there were no significant difference between the two procedures in maxillary growth variables(P>0.05).But the experimental group was smaller in the maxillary heights, length variables than the two-flap group., Conclusions: These findings showed that repair of the cleft palate by autogenous rib graft had positive effect on preventing the contraction of maxillary width. But in the maxillary anteroposterior and vertical development, the experimental group possibly had more severe retardation than two-flap repair group.
