This study explores Indian library and information science (LIS) professionals’ perspectives on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic libraries in India. It aims to evaluate their comprehension of AI, determine their perspectives, investigate AI utilization, assess advantages, identify influencing factors, and examine attitudes towards AI adoption. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing a structured questionnaire designed based on study objectives and reviewed by subject matter experts. Purposive sampling targeted individuals with relevant LIS knowledge. Data were collected through Google Forms from 259 respondents and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Respondents generally exhibited positive perceptions towards AI integration in libraries. High mean scores were observed for statements such as “AI can bridge librarian performance gaps” and “AI does not make library staff lazy.” Librarians expressed willingness to learn about AI, interest in its ethical implications, and confidence in its potential to improve library services. The study highlights a cautious optimism towards AI adoption in Indian academic libraries, with recognition of its potential benefits tempered by concerns about employment and resource allocation. Librarians demonstrate proactive attitudes towards engaging with AI technology and understanding its implications for library services, indicating a readiness to embrace AI within the profession.

Digital Resource awareness was studied among Medical Deemed University Libraries students in Maharashtra. The study used a questionnaire to investigate four Medical Deemed University Libraries of Maharashtra. This study examines digital resource utilization, purpose, frequency, locality, and preference. The study indicated that Maharashtra Medical Deemed University Libraries users were moderately aware of digital medical resources and used them mainly for the education, Learning, and knowledge updating. Students use e-journals, standards, reports, patents, and trade reports. This survey explores how Maharashtra Medical Deemed University Libraries students use electronic resources. Customers of Medical Deemed University Libraries have difficulties using digital resources because of a lack of training or orientation, slow internet, an energy crisis or load shedding, a lack of printing facilities, the lack of full-text access to the majority of journals, a lack of awareness, information overload, and insufficient digital resource consumption. However, these factors are not statistically different from low levels of satisfaction and low internet speeds. The findings improve digital library services and resources. This research advanced medical e-resources and services. The results may enhance digital library services and virtual culture in designated medical Deemed University libraries, notably in Maharashtra. The structured questionnaire was randomly distributed among the four Medical Deemed Universities, which covered 200 UG and PG paradigms, with the scrutiny of the distributed questionnaire with speculation. Research has been conducted on the Wolff rearrangements of alpha-diazaketones. Results indicate that microwave irradiation of these diazaketones promotes Wolff rearrangement via the Z-configurations.

Research has been conducted on the vitamin D bioactive metabolite, 19-Nor-1(alpha),25-dihydroxyvitamin D (sub)3 and its analogues. Results indicate that this metabolite demonstrates reduced calcemic effects but retains good cell-differentiating properties.

Research has been conducted on the (4R,6S)-4-(tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)-6-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydropyran-2-one. The synthesis of this compound which involves Baeyer-Villiger oxidation has been carried out and the results are reported.

Research has been conducted on the D-(+)-biotin. The synthesis of this biotin has been carried out via L-cystine which involves facile intramolecular cyclization and mild conditions incorporation as key steps.

A four-step, practical, and easily scalable synthesis of 3-ethyl-4-methyl-1,5-dihydro-2H-pyrrol-2-one, an important building block of the antidiabetic drug glimepiride, has been accomplished. Key features are the synthesis of 3-methyl-4-hydroxy-2-butenolide in water and triflic acid mediated N-benzyl lactam N-deprotection. The main advantages of this process are the scalable synthetic route and decreased number of reaction steps, which paves the way for the industrial-scale synthesis of 3-ethyl-4-methyl-1,5-dihydro-2H-pyrrol-2-one. A unified synthetic strategy for oseltamivir phosphate (tamiflu), (S)‐pipecolic acid, and its 3‐hydroxy derivatives from furan derived common chiral bicycloaziridino lactone synthon is described here. Key features are the short (4‐steps), enantiopure, and decagram‐scale synthesis of common chiral synthon from furan and its first‐ever application in the total synthesis of biologically active compounds by taking the advantages of high functionalization ability of chiral synthon. A short and highly efficient synthesis of (+)-biotin in 10 steps with 20% overall yield is achieved from L-cysteine involving amidoalkylation of hydroxy imidazothiazolone. A number of new synthetic routes involving different strategies for control of three adjacent chiral centres are reported.

Research has been conducted on natural methanol. The authorts report that the introduction of this compound as a chiral auxiliary in gamma-Br-alpha,beta-unsaturated ester produces enantioselective generation of chiral centers.
