Purpose Morphological and molecular description of a new species of Haematoloechus dehradunensis sp. nov. collected from the lungs of Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis (Schneider 1799) from Dehradun (Uttarakhand), India and reporting first record of H. singaporensis from India. H. singaporensis collected from E. cyanophlyctis represents a first record for India and a new host record. ITS sequences submitted and compared at NCBI GenBank support the uniqueness of the new species.

Summary Fourteen Amietia sp. (Pyxicephalidae), from the Albertine Rift of Democratic Republic of the Congo were examined for helminths. Five species of Nematoda were found: Amphibiophilus chabaudi, Aplectana praeputialis, Falcaustra congoensis, Foleyellides duboisi and Orneoascaris chrysanthemoides. Amphibiophilus chabaudi was the most numerous nematode (n = 40) with the highest prevalence (57 %). Five new host records are reported.

Summary Information on the recent herpetological and related parasitological collections are very rarely available for Afghanistan. We examined two species of the family Agamidae, Laudakia nuristanica and Paralaudakia caucasia for the presence of the intestinal helminth fauna. Overall, we examined 13 specimens of these lizards and found three species of helminths (Abbreviata achari, Thelandros masaae, T. taylori) in a single specimen of L. nuristanica and four species (A. achari, T. baylisi, T. taylori, P. kasauli) in three specimens of P. caucasia. Here in, we present the first report on the helminth fauna from L. nuristanica, record a new helminth host for P. caucasia and three new country records for the helminth fauna of Afghanistan.

Between April 2011 and November 2020, 175 individuals of western creek chubsucker Erimyzon claviformis (Girard) (Cypriniformes: Catostomidae) were collected and examined for parasites from 12 sites in the Ouachita, Red, St. Francis, and White river drainages in Arkansas (n = 138 individuals for endoparasites, 22 of same individuals for gill parasites) and from 4 sites in the Red River drainage in Oklahoma (n = 37 individuals for endoparasites, 14 of same individuals for gill parasites). Ninety-nine (57%) were infected with at least 1 parasite, including 2 (6%) of 36 with Piscinoodinium limneticum, 8 (22%) of 36 with 3 different Myxobolus spp., 4 (11%) of 36 with Octomacrum lanceatum, 40 (23%) of 175 with Plagioporus sinitsini, 30 (17%) of 175 with Lissorchis amniculensis, 38 (21%) of 175 with Calientiella etnieri, 3 (2%) of 175 with Isoglaridacris cf. agminis, 10 (6%) of 175 with larval Spiroxys sp., and 1 (0.6%) of 175 with a Neoechinorhynchus sp.; 31 individuals harbored multiple infections. We document several new host and distributional records. Moreover, this report represents only the second published report of the caryophyllid tapeworm C. etnieri since its description more than 46 yr ago.

Psammodromus algirus from Madrid, Ávila, and Cádiz provinces, Spain, and P. occidentalis from Cádiz province were examined for the presence of external and internal parasites. Among those parasites represented were: Ixodes inopinatus (Arthropoda, Arachnida, Acari, Ixodidae); Haemaphysalis punctata (Arthropoda, Arachnida, Acari, Ixodidae); Skrjabinelazia cf. taurica (Nematoda, Secernentea, Ascaridida, Seuratidae); Spauligodon carbonelli (Nematoda: Secernentea, Oxyurida, Pharyngodonidae); Parapharyngodon psammodromi (Nematoda, Secernentea, Oxyurida, Pharyngodonidae); Abbreviata abbreviata (Nematoda, Secernentea, Physalopteroidea, Physalopteridae); Mesocestoides sp. (Platyhelminthes, Cestoda, Cyclophyllidea, Mesocestoididae); and Oochoristica cf. tuberculata (Platyhelminthes, Cestoda, Cyclophyllidea, Davaineidae). Details regarding localities from which host species were collected, number of parasites and sites of attachment, and estimates of prevalence and intensities of infection are presented. Nematode diversity, along with parasite prevalence, parasitaemia, and relationship to elevation are also discussed. A table of Psammodromus parasites in Spain is also included

Gyrinicola dehradunensis sp. nov. from the intestine of tadpoles of the small paa frog, Nanorana minica, from Dehradun (Uttarakhand), India is described and illustrated. Gyrinicola dehradunensis is the first species of the genus recorded from India and the second species recorded from Asia. Light microscopy was used for the identification of nematodes using BX53 DIC/BF Olympus research microscope with an attached DP27 digital camera. Drawings for the description of the new species were made from photomicrographs. For molecular studies, DNA was isolated using Qiagen, DNeasy® Blood and Tissue Kit and amplified using r-DNA ITS-18S, and ITS-1.58S primers. The new species is differentiated from the known species by the absence of larvated eggs and the presence of a tooth-like projection in the buccal region. N. minica is a new host record for the genus. Four r-DNA ITS1 sequences of the new species have been submitted to the NCBI Genbank.

Spinicauda ciremaiensis sp. nov. (Nematoda: Heterakidae) from the large intestine of Gonocephalus kuhlii (Reptilia: Agamidae) collected in Gunung Ciremai National Park, West Java, Indonesia is described and illustrated. Of the five described species of Spinicauda from the Oriental region, Spinicauda ciremaiensis sp. nov. comes closest to S. sumatrana in having 14 pairs of caudal papillae and the presence of a tail filament. However, the new species differs from S. sumatrana in the longer spicula, smaller eggs, and weak sclerotization of the gubernaculum. S. ciremaiensis sp. nov. is also the only species belonging to the genus Spinicauda which has a sclerotized accessories piece of gubernaculum. A key to the species of Spinicauda is also provided. We examined 35 golden grass skinks Heremites auratus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Squamata: Scincidae), obtained from various locations in Turkey, for helminth parasites. We found 1 species of Cestoda, Mesocestoides sp., and 7 species of Nematoda: Parapharyngodon dogieli, Parapharyngodon lilfordi, Parapharyngodon psammodromi, Pharyngodon mamillatus, Spauligodon eremiasi, Spauligodon sp., and Thubunaea baylisi.

A sample of 128 individuals of the slender-toed geckos Nactus spp. from six islands of Papua New Guinea (Bougainville, Fergusson, Misima, New Britain, Rossel, Sudest) was examined for gastrointestinal helminths. Found were one species of Digenea, Mesocoelium brevicaecum; one species of Cestoda, Gekkotaenia novaeguineaensis; one species of Acanthocephala, Sauracanthorhynchus sphenomorphicola; and eight species of Nematoda, Aplectana zweifeli, Bakeria bakeri, Cosmocerca zugi, Meteterakis crombiei, Parapharyngodon maplestoni, Physalopteroides milnensis, Abbreviata sp. (larvae in cysts), Rictulariidae gen. sp. (larvae in cysts). A total of 1,256 helminths was found. Aplectana zweifeli (n = 447), Parapharyngodon maplestoni (n = 238), and Meteterakis crombiei (n = 221) were the most abundant helminths. Ten new host records are reported for Nactus spp. There was a mean of 7.3 ± 3.1 (3–11) helminth species per island. Bougainville Island had the fewest number of helminth species (3) and Misima Island (11) the highest. Nactus spp. are parasitized by generalist helminths that also infect other lizard species.

Three species of frogs (Rhacophoridae) from Borneo, Malaysia were examined for helminths: Nyctixalus pictus (n = 4), Philautus hosii (n = 6), and Rhacophorus pardalis (n = 12). We found 3 species of Nematoda, Batrachostrongylus longispiculus, Cosmocerca ornata, and Seuratascaris numidica, 1 species of Cestoda, Cylindrotaenia sp., and 1 species of Acanthocephala, Pseudoacanthocephalus bufonis. No helminth species occurred in more than 1 frog species. The most abundant helminth (7) was C. ornata in R. pardalis. The 3 species of frogs are parasitized by helminths that also infect other species of anurans. Five new host records are reported. A table summarizing helminth records in anurans from Borneo is presented.

This study describes the morphology of Rhabdias elegans Gutierrez, 1945, isolated from the lungs of the toad Rhinella arenarum (Hensel, 1867) from Lomas de Tafi Tucumán, Argentina. This is the first record of R. elegans in R. arenarum from northwestern Argentina as previously described Rhabdias truncata is a species inquirendae. The distribution of R. elegans is extended since it was previously recorded in Buenos Aires, Chaco and Corrientes Provinces, Argentina. Our light microscopical study of morphological details of R. elegans revealed a few previously unreported structures in the apical region including position of the excretory pore and lateral sessile papillae in the tail. In addition, morphometric variability was observed on comparing present specimens and those described in previous studies. Our study made it possible to validate the occurrence of three Rhabdias species occurring in Argentina: R. elegans, R. füelleborni and R. cf. sphaerocephala. The information presented in this study represents an important contribution to the parasitological knowledge of R. arenarum from northwestern Argentina.

Three species of Meristogenys frogs (Ranidae) from Borneo, Malaysia were examined for helminths: Meristogenys orphnocnemis (n = 8), M. poecilus (n = 5), and M. whiteheadi (n = 8). We found three species of Nematoda: Cosmocerca ornata, Rhabdias multiproles, and Abbreviata sp. (larvae in cysts). Both C. ornata and R. multiproles are old world in distribution. The most numerous helminths were Abbreviata sp. in M. whiteheadi. The three species of Meristogenys are parasitized by generalist helminths that also infect other species of anurans. Five new host records are reported.

Three species of myobatrachid frogs from Borneo, Malaysia were examined for helminths: Leptobrachium abbotti (n = 5), Leptobrachium hendricksoni (n = 6) and Leptobrachium montanum (n = 12). Herein, we establish the initial helminth records for these 3 species. Found were 4 species of Nematoda: Cosmocerca ornata, Meteterakis sp., Oswaldocruzia sp., Cosmocercidae gen. sp. and 1 cestode gen. sp. Leptobrachium abbotti harbored C. ornata and Oswaldocruzia sp.; L. hendricksoni harbored Meteterakis sp. and Cosmocercidae gen. sp.; L. montanum harbored Oswaldocruzia sp. and 1 cestode gen. sp. Six new host records are reported.

Falcaustra tintlwini sp. nov. (Ascaridida, Kathlaniidae) from the large intestine of Batagur trivittata (Testudines, Geoemydidae) is described and illustrated. Falcaustra tintlwini represents the 20th Oriental species assigned to the genus and is distinguished from other Oriental species by the distribution pattern of the caudal papillae (6 precloacal, 12 postcloacal, and 1 median), length of spicules (0.43-0.50 mm) and absence of a pseudosucker.

Rhabdias garhwalensissp. nov. from the lungs ofDuttaphrynus himalayanus(Günther, 1864) collected in Kimoi Tehsil, district Tehri Garhwal (Uttarakhand), India is described and illustrated.Rhabdias garhwalensissp. nov. represents the 15th species described from the Oriental zoogeographical zone and the 9th species from India. The new species is differentiated from the closely related Oriental species in having 6 lips, cup–shaped buccal cavity with muscular striations in the posterior region and smaller esophagus to body length ratio. In addition to the new species, a second species,Cosmocercoides bufonisKarve, 1944, was found in the large intestine ofD. himalayanus.

Aplectana samarensis sp. nov. (Ascaridida, Cosmocercidae) from the intestines of Limnonectes magnus (Anura, Dicroglossidae) is described and illustrated. Aplectana samarensis sp. nov. represents the 53rd species assigned to the genus and the 6th species reported from the Oriental region. It is easily separated from the 5 species previously reported from the region by the presence of a gubernaculum and the distribution pattern of male caudal papillae: A. macintoshii has an irregular pattern, no precloacal papillae in rows; both A. akhrami and A. dubrajpuri lack a gubernaculum; A. duttaphryni has 3 pairs of precloacal papillae forming 2 rows; A. ranae has 7 pairs of precloacal papillae forming 2 rows; A. samarensis sp. nov. has 4 pairs of precloacal papillae in 2 rows. In addition to the new species, individuals of Falcaustra dubia and Pseudoacanthocephalus bufonis as well as cestode plerocercoids were also found.

An Asian house gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus Schlegel, 1836) was collected in a forested area near the town of Thakhek, Laos. Inspection of the lizard revealed that it had a subcutaneous lump on its abdomen, which was determined to be caused by a nymph of the pentastome Kiricephalus pattoni (Stephens, 1908). Although H. frenatus has been recorded as a host of K. pattoni in Taiwan, Thakhek, Laos represents a new distribution record for this parasite.

Twenty-one specimens of the scincid lizard Emoia physicae from Papua New Guinea were examined for gastrointestinal helminths. Found were two species of Cestoda, Cylindrotaenia hickmani and Ophiotaenia greeri, and five species of Nematoda: Skrjabinodon derooijae, Skrjabinodon sheai, Abbreviata sp., Porrocaecum sp., and Rictulariidae gen. sp. Rictulariidae had the highest prevalence (29%) and Porrocaecum sp. had the greatest mean intensity (21.5 ± 9.2). Emoia physicae are infected by generalist helminths that also infect other species. Three helminth species are endemic to Papua New Guinea (O. greeri, S. derooijae, S. sheai); one is known from Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Oceania (C. hickmani); and three are paratenic larvae belonging to widely distributed groups (Abbreviata sp., Porrocaecum sp., Rictulariidae). All are new host records for E. physicae.

Falcaustra congoensis n. sp. (Ascaridida, Kathlaniidae) from the large intestine of Amietia nutti (Boulenger, 1896) (Anura, Pyxicephalidae) is described and illustrated. Falcaustra congoensis represents the 16th Afrotropical species assigned to the genus and is distinguished from other Aftrotropical species by the distribution pattern of the caudal papillae (6 precloacal, 2 adcloacal, 14 postcloacal, and 1 median), length of spicules (0.33–0.38 mm), and presence of 1 pseudosucker. Amietia nutti was found to harbor 1 additional species of Nematoda, adults of Amphibiophilus chabaudi. Amietia nutti represents a new host record for each of these helminth species.

Aplectana hainanensis sp. nov. (Ascaridida, Cosmocercidae) from the intestines of Goniurosaurus bawanglingensis (Squamata, Eublepharidae) is described and illustrated. Aplectana hainanensis sp. nov. represents the 52nd species assigned to the genus and the 5th species reported from the Sino-Japanese region. It is easily separated from the 4 species previously reported from the region by the distribution pattern of male caudal papillae: A. macintoshii has an irregular pattern; A. hylae has no precloacal papillae; A. fujianae has 1 pair of precloacal papillae; A paucipapillosa has 3 pairs of precloacal papillae; Aplectana hainanensis sp. nov. has 7 pairs of precloacal papillae.

Twenty-four scincid lizards (spotted forest skink, Sphenomorphus scotophilus) from Peninsular Malaysia were examined for gastrointestinal helminths. Six species of Nematoda, mature individuals of Bakeria schadi, Meteterakis singaporensis, Parapharyngodon maplestoni, Physalopteroides grismeri, and Spinicauda sp., and larvae of Acuariidae gen. sp. were found. Bakeria schadi had the largest number of individuals (38) and the highest prevalence (48%). Larvae of Acuariidae had the greatest mean intensity (6.5 ± 6.4 SD). All represent new host records for S. scotopilus. Our findings indicate that Sphenomorphus scotophilus is parasitized by generalist helminths that also infect other lizards.

Five species of dicroglossid frogs (Dicroglossidae) (n = 29) from Southeast Asia were examined for helminths: Limnonectes blythii, L. hascheanus, L. khasianus, L. kohchangae, and L. macrognathus. We found eight species of Nematoda, consisting of gravid individuals of Aplectana macintoshii, Cosmocerca ornata, Foleyellides malayensis, Icosiella innominata, Oswaldocruzia rohdei, Seuratascaris numidica, and larvae of Abbreviata sp. and Physalopteridae gen. sp. Dicroglossid frogs from Southeast Asia are infected by generalist helminths that infect other species of frogs. Twelve new host records are reported.

Five species of toads (Bufonidae) (n = 22) from Peninsular Malaysia were examined for helminths: Duttaphrynus melanostictus, Ingerophrynus parvus, Leptophryne borbonica, Phrynoidis asper, and Rentapia hosii. The helminth community contained 10 species of Nematoda, consisting of mature individuals of Abbreviata bufonis, Aplectana macintoshii, Cosmocerca ornata, Falcaustra pahangi, Meteterakis singaporensis, Oswaldocruzia filiformis, Oswaldocruzia hoepplii, Seuratascaris numidica, and larvae assigned to Ascarididae and Physalopteridae. Nematoda reported in this study are mainly Old World in distribution. Bufonid species from Peninsular Malaysia are infected by generalist nematodes that also infect other anurans. Seven new host records are reported.

Meteterakis hurawensis n. sp. (Nematoda, Heterakidae) from the large intestine of Brachymeles orientalis and Brachymeles samad (Squamata, Scincidae) is described and illustrated. Meteterakis hurawensis n. sp. represents the 20th Oriental species assigned to the genus and is distinguished from other Oriental species by the distribution pattern of the caudal papillae (10 pairs total, 3 pairs of relatively large pedunculate papillae, 2 pairs of short pedunculate papillae immediately anteriolateral to ventral sucker, 2 pairs of short pedunculaltle papillae midway between ventral sucker and cloaca, 1 pair of sessile papillae just posterior to cloaca, 2 pairs of sessile near terminus of tail; 1 unpaired sessile papilla on midline just anterior to cloaca) and length of spicules (0.30–0.33 mm).

Eleven species of ranid frogs (N = 42) from Southeast Asia were examined for gastrointestinal helminths: Amolops torrentis, Chalcorana labialis, Hylarana erythraea, Hylarana taipehensis, Indosylvirana milleti, Pulchrana banjarana, Pulchrana baramica, Pulchrana glandulosa, Pulchrana picturata, Sylvirana cubitalis, Sylvirana mortensi. The helminth community consisted of eight species of Nematoda, represented by Aplectana macintoshii, Cosmocerca ornata, Cosmocercoides pulcher, Icosiella innominata, Meteterakis japonica, Seuratascaris numidica, Abbreviata sp., and a species of Acuariidae. Ranid frogs from Southeast Asia are infected by generalist helminths that also infect other frogs. Twenty new host records are reported.

Between March 2004 and December 2006, and again between March 2010 and June 2013, we examined a total of 70 individual herpetofaunal members from 9 counties and 4 biotic provinces of Texas for coccidians, helminths, and ectoparasites. Twenty-three of 42 (55%) of the amphibians and four of 28 (14%) of the reptiles were infected/infested including Great Plains narrowmouth toad (Gastrophryne olivacea) with Aplectana incerta; Coastal Plain toad (Incilius nebulifer) with A. incerta and Mesocoelium cf. monodi; Rio Grande leopard frog (Lithobates berlandieri) and Plains leopard frog (Lithobates blairi) with Hannemania dunni; spring peeper (Pseudacris crucifer) with acuariid larvae; prairie kingsnake (Lampropeltis calligaster calligaster) with Caryospora duszynskii; Texas blind snake (Rena dulcis) with Parapharyngodon sp.; Texas banded gecko (Coleonyx brevis) with Spauligodon sp.; and Texas patchnose snake (Salvadora grahamiae lineata) multiply infected with Renifer aniarum, Spauligodon goldbergi, and a...

Ten species of Cyrtodactylus from Southeast Asia were examined for gastrointestinal helminths. Samples consisted of eight species from Malaysia: Cyrtodactylus aurensis, Cyrtodactylus australotitiwangsaensis, Cyrtodactylus batucolus, Cyrtodactylus consobrinus, Cyrtodactylus ingeri, Cyrtodactylus macrotuberculatus, Cyrtodactylus semenanjungensis, and Cyrtodactylus tiomanensis; and two species from Vietnam: Cyrtodactylus condorensis and Cyrtodactylus huynhi. The helminth community consisted of one species of Cestoda, Oochoristica javaensis, and eight species of Nematoda: Bakeria schadi, Cosmocerca ornata, Parapharyngodon maplestoni, Physalopteroides dactyluris, Spauligodon bintangensis, Abbreviata sp. (larvae), Ascarididae gen. sp. (larvae), and Physalopteridae gen. sp. (larvae). Parapharyngodon maplestoni had the largest number of individuals and the greatest prevalence (100% in each of C. aurensis and C. ingeri). Twenty-one new host records are reported.

Between December 2016 and February 2017, 17 Home's hingeback tortoise, Kinixys homeana, confiscated by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and originating from the Republic of Benin, Africa, had their feces examined for coccidian and helminth parasites. No coccidia were passing in their feces; however, 40 individual specimens of the nematode Atractis africana Ortlepp, 1933, were found in 1 tortoise as well as its larvae in another tortoise. In addition, trophozoites of the ciliate, Nyctotherus cordiformis were found in 2 K. homeana. This is the first report of A. africana from this host as well as a significant geographic record. Importantly, this is the initial helminth reported from K. homeana and the first time this nematode has been reported since the original description more than 80 yr ago.

Thubunaea eleodori sp. nov. is described from the stomach of Liolaemus eleodori (Sauria: Liolaemidae) from San Guillermo National Park, Province of San Juan, Argentina. T. eleodori is most similar to those species lacking spicules, T. cnemidophorus, T. fitsimonsi, T. parkeri, T. schukurovi, and T. smogorzhewskii. T. eleodori is separated from these species based on the papilla pattern. T. eleodori has 12 pedunculate papillae and 14 sessile papillae, T. smogorzhewskii lacks pedunculate papillae, T. fitsimonsi and T. parkeri lack sessile papillae, and T. cnemidophorus has14-16 pedunculate papillae and 12 sessile papillae. T. eleodori represents the first member of the genus to be reported from Argentina.

Physalopteroides grismeri n. sp. (Spirurida, Physalopteridae) from the stomach of Emoia atrocostata (Squamata: Scincidae) collected in Peninsular Malaysia is described and illustrated. Physalopteroides grismeri n. sp. is the twentieth species assigned to the genus, the sixth from the Oriental region, and the first from Peninsular Malaysia. The new species is most similar to those species possessing symmetrical caudal alae, i.e., Physalopteroides agamae, Physalopteroides bahamensis, Physalopteroides dactyluris, Physalopteroides dryophisi, Physalopteroides geckonis, Physalopteroides grayiacola, Physalopteroides impar, Physalopteroides milneae, Physalopteroides minor, Physalopteroides quadridentatum, Physalopteroides tarentolae, Physalopteroides valdesi, Physalopteroides venancioi, and Physalopteroides versicoloris. Physalopteroides valdesi possesses 6 postcloacal papillae; P. dryophisi possesses 6–8 postcloacal papillae; P. grayiacola, P. geckonis, P. bahamensis, P. venancioi possess 8 postcloacal papillae; P. impar, P. minor, P quadridentatum possess 10 postcloacal papillae; P. milneae, P. agamae, P. dactyluris, P. versicoloris possess 12 postcloacal papillae; P. tarentolae and P. grismeri n. sp. possess 14 postcloacal papillae; however, spicules are absent in P. tarentolae, present in P. grismeri n. sp.

Five species of Gonocephalus lizards (N = 27) from Peninsular Malaysia were examined for gastrointestinal helminths: Gonocephalus abbotti (n = 6), Gonocephalus bellii (n = 8), Gonocephalus chamaeleontinus (n = 4), Gonocephalus grandis (n = 5), Gonocephalus robinsoni (n = 4). The aggregate helminth community consisted of two species of Cestoda, represented by Oochoristica javaensis and cysticercoid and nine species of Nematoda: Abbreviata borneensis, Cosmocercoides malayensis, Falcaustra malaysiaia, Meteterakis singaporensis, Orneoascaris sandoshami, Strongyluris calotis, Physocephalus sp., Physalopteridae gen. sp., Ascarididae gen. sp. Species of Gonocephalus are infected by generalist helminths that have potential for infecting a variety of lizards. Twenty-one new host records are reported.

Between August 2014 and August 2015, in the Ouachita and Red River drainages of Arkansas (n = 17) and the Red River drainage of Oklahoma (n = 113), 130 Blackstripe Topminnows, Fundulus notatus, were collected and examined for helminth parasites. Sixty-three (48%) F. notatus, including 7 (37%) from Arkansas and 56 (50%) from Oklahoma, were infected. These included 16 (12%) with Homalometron robisoni, 24 (18%) with immature Proteocephalus sp., 8 (6%) with larval Eustrongylides sp., 17 (13%) with Spiroxys sp. larvae, 3 (2%) with acanthocephalan cystacanths, 1 (0.8%) with Leptorhynchoides thecatus, and 1 (0.8%) with Neoechinorhynchus sp. In addition, 1 of 5 (20%) from Arkansas harbored the monogenean Salsuginus umbraensis. We document 4 new host and 3 new distributional records.

Between May 2014 and September 2014, 50 Northern Studfish, Fundulus catenatus, were collected from sites in the interior highlands of the Ouachita Mountains (n = 25) and Ozark Mountains (n = 25) of Arkansas and examined for helminths. Twenty-three (46%) of the northern studfish, including 7 (28%) from the Ouachitas and 23 (92%) from the Ozarks were infected with helminths. These included 8 (16%) with Neascus-type metacercariae (black grub), 4 (8%) with metacercaria of Clinostomum marginatum, 8 (16%) with Creptotrema sp., 1 (2%) with Posthodiplostomum minimum, 3 (6%) with immature Proteocephalus sp., 9 (18%) with larval Eustrongylides sp., 1 (2%) with Rhabdochona cascadilla, 2 (4%) with larval Spinitectus sp., and 17 (34%) with acanthocephalan cystacanths. In addition, 6 of 8 individuals (75%) from one site in the Ouachitas harbored the monogenean, Salsuginus fundulus. Twenty-six gekkonid lizards from the Philippines consisting of Cyrtodactylus philippinicus (n = 12) and Gekko mindorensis (n = 14) were examined for helminths. One species of Cestoda as cycticercoids and 6 species of Nematoda: Bakeria schadi, Meteterakis longispiculata, Parapharyngodon maplestoni, Physalopteroides sp., Pharyngodonidae gen. sp., and Physalopteridae larva, were found. Both gekkonid species harbored Parapharyngodon maplestoni and Physalopteroides sp. Parapharyngodon maplestoni had the highest prevalence (50%) in C. philippinicus. The 2 gekkonid species were parasitized by a helminth community composed of Oriental helminths. Nine new host records are reported.

This paper gives two new records of ascarid parasites observed in snakes (Colubridae) of Albania.

Camallanus philippinensis n. sp. (Spirurida; Camallanidae) from the intestines of Occidozyga laevis (Gunther, 1858) (Anura; Dicroglossidae) is described and illustrated. Camallanus philippinensis n. sp. represents the 106th species assigned to the genus and the first from Philippine anurans. It is distinguished from other Oriental species by the pattern of caudal papillae (6 precloacal, 4 adcloacal, 8 postcloacal), length of spicule (323–329 µm), and postequatorial vulva. Occidozyga laevis is also found to harbor cyclophyllidean cysticerci. Occidozyga laevis represents a new host record for both of these helminths.

Eighty-two green lizards, Lacerta viridis (Laurenti, 1768), from different locations of Bursa, Turkey, were examined for helminths. Two species of Cestoda, Mesocestoides sp. (as tetrathyridium) and Oochoristica tube rculata, and 4 species of Nematoda, Oswaldocruzia filiformis, Skrjabinelazia hoffmanni, Skrjabinelazia taurica, and Skrjabinodon medinae, were found. Lacerta viridis is parasitized by generalist helminths that also infect other lizards. Parasite lists for other Turkish lacertid lizards are given.

The species Hedruris mucronifer Schuurmans Stekhoven, 1952 parasite of Telmatobius schreiteri from Tafi del Valle, Tucuman, Argentina is herein redescribed. The main morphological characters used for its identification are illustrated. The lectotype and paralectotype are designated, respectively. The specific epithet of the host is rectified.
