Abstract Hole-conductor-free printable mesoscopic perovskite solar cells (p-MPSCs) have attracted widespread attention for their low cost, up-scalability, and exceptional stability. However, the high defect density of perovskite and the absence of interfacial barrier layer between perovskite and carbon electrode cause profound open-circuit voltage (V OC) loss, which results in uncompetitive power conversion efficiency (PCE). Herein, an anion-cation synergy of decylammonium sulfate (DA2SO4) is utilized for suppressing V OC loss of p-MPSCs via a facile post-treatment method. DA+ cations transform the perovskite adjacent to carbon electrode into wide-bandgap 2D perovskite for blocking electrons, while the SO4 2− anions interact with undercoordinated lead centers for reducing defect density. As a result, the modified device delivers an enhanced PCE from 17.78% to 19.59%, with an improved V OC from 0.98 V to 1.06 V. Meanwhile, the modified device without any encapsulation exhibits excellent moisture stability with the PCE remained almost 99% of the initial value after 528 h aging in 75% RH air at room temperature.

Abstract This study aimed to design a VEGFR-targeting peptide–drug conjugate with the ability to decrease tumor burden and suppress tumor angiogenesis, and to further evaluate the therapeutic effect of anti-PD-1 antibody in HCC therapy. A VEGFR-targeting peptide VEGF125 − 136 (QR) was conjugated with a lytic peptide (KLU) to form a peptide–drug conjugate QR-KLU. And the efficacy of QR-KLU in combination with anti-PD-1 antibody for HCC therapy in vivo and in vitro were evaluated. QR-KLU inhibited the proliferation and migration of mouse HCC cell line (Hepa1–6) cells under normoxic and hypoxic conditions in a dose-dependent manner. In the subcutaneous Hepa1–6 tumor model, QR-KLU combined with the anti-PD-1 antibody substantially inhibited tumor growth, promoted tumor necrosis, and prolonged the survival time of tumor-bearing mice. QR-KLU substantially inhibited hypoxia-induced expression of VEGF, promoted tumor vascular normalization, and increased cluster of differentiation 8+ (CD8+) T cell infiltration in the tumor. In addition, QR-KLU and anti-PD-1 antibody demonstrated a strong synergistic effect in promoting the activation of intratumoral CD8+ T cells, reducing the expression of immune-inhibitory factors, and increasing the expression of immune-stimulatory factors. This study proposed a novel approach for enhancing the efficacy of anti-PD-1 antibody using a VEGFR-targeting peptide–drug conjugate in HCC therapy.

SiC-based composites are widely used as electromagnetic wave absorbers due to their excellent dielectric properties. However, the constraints associated with structural design and the intricacies of the preparation process hinder their broader application. In this study, novel mullite anti-gyroid/SiC gyroid metastructures are designed to integrate the mechanical and electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption properties of composite materials. Mullite anti-gyroid/SiC gyroid composites are fabricated utilizing a combination of digital light processing (DLP) three-dimensional (3D) printing and precursor infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP) processes. Through the modulation of structural units, the electromagnetic parameters can be effectively regulated, thus improving the impedance matching characteristics of the composites. The structural composites show outstanding EMW absorption properties, with a minimum reflection loss of −54 dB at a thickness of 1.9 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth of 3.20 GHz at a thickness of 2.2 mm. Furthermore, the PIP process significantly enhances the mechanical properties of the composites; compared with those of the mullite/SiC ceramics, the flexural strength of the composites is improved by 3.69–5.85 times (13.28±1.15 MPa vs. (49.05±1.07)–(77.78±3.72) MPa), and the compressive strength is improved by 4.59–13.58 times (8.55±0.90 MPa vs. (39.02±1.63)–(116.13±2.58) MPa). This approach offers a novel and effective method for fabricating structural composites with an expanded range of higher electromagnetic wave absorption properties and improved mechanical properties.

Abstract Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) creation using the Viatorr stent remains relatively uncommon in underdeveloped and high-burden disease regions in Asia–Pacific, and there is a lack of comparative studies regarding its prognostic effects compared with the generic stent-graft/bare stent combination. The purpose of this retrospective study is to compare the prognostic endpoints of these two treatments in patients who underwent TIPS creation. Clinical data from 145 patients were collected, including 82 in the combination group and 63 in the Viatorr group. Differences in prognostic endpoints (shunt dysfunction, death, overt hepatic encephalopathy [OHE], rebleeding) between the two groups were analyzed using Kaplan–Meier curves. The Cox proportional hazards model was used to identify independent risk factors for post-TIPS shunt dysfunction. The TIPS procedure was successful in all patients. After TIPS creation, both groups showed a significant decrease in porto-caval pressure gradient compared to that before TIPS creation. The stent patency rates at 6, 12, and 18 months were high in both the combination and Viatorr groups (93.7%, 88.5%, and 88.5% vs. 96.7%, 93.4%, and 93.4%, respectively). The stent patency rates was higher in the combination group than in the Viatorr group, although not statistically significant (HR = 2.105, 95% CI 0.640–6.922, Log-rank P = 0.259). There were no significant differences in other prognostic endpoints (death, OHE, rebleeding) between the two groups. The Cox model identified portal vein diameter (HR = 0.807, 95% CI 0.658–0.990, P = 0.040) and portal vein thrombosis (HR = 13.617, 95% CI 1.475–125.678, P = 0.021) as independent risk factors for post-TIPS shunt dysfunction. The shunt patency rates between the Viatorr stent and the generic stent-graft/bare stent combination showed no significant difference and the generic stent-graft/bare stent combination may be a viable alternative in areas where the Viatorr stent is not yet available.

Abstract Background Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) refers to bleeding within the brain’s ventricular system, and hydrocephalus is a life-threatening complication of IVH characterized by increased cerebrospinal fluid accumulation in the ventricles resulting in elevated intracranial pressure. IVH poses significant challenges for healthcare providers due to the complexity of the underlying pathophysiology and lack of standardized treatment guidelines. Herein, we performed a systematic review of the treatment strategies for hydrocephalus secondary to IVH. Methods This systematic review was prospectively registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023450786). The search was conducted in PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science on July 15, 2023. We included original studies containing valid information on therapy management and outcome of hydrocephalus secondary to primary, spontaneous, and subarachnoid or intracranial hemorrhage following IVH in adults that were published between 2000 and 2023. Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) or modified Ranking Scale (mRS) scores during follow-up were extracted as primary outcomes. The risk of bias was assessed using the Newcastle–Ottawa Scale for Cohort Studies or Cochrane Risk of Bias 2.0 Tool. Results Two hundred and seven patients from nine published papers, including two randomized controlled trials, were included in the analysis. The GOS was used in five studies, while the mRS was used in four. Seven interventions were applied, including craniotomy for removal of hematoma, endoscopic removal of hematoma with/without endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV), traditional external ventricular drainage (EVD), and various combinations of EVD, lumbar drainage (LD), and intraventricular fibrinolysis (IVF). Endoscopic removal of hematoma was performed in five of nine studies. Traditional EVD had no obvious benefit compared with new management strategies. Three different combinations of EVD, LD, and IVF demonstrated satisfactory outcomes, although more studies are required to confirm their reliability. Removal of hematoma through craniotomy generated reliable result. Generally, endoscopic removal of hematoma with ETV, removal of hematoma through craniotomy, EVD with IVF, and EVD with early continuous LD were useful. Conclusion EVD is still crucial for the management of IVH and hydrocephalus. Despite a more reliable result from the removal of hematoma through craniotomy, a trend toward endoscopic approach was observed due to a less invasive profile.

IntroductionExtreme weather events driven by climate change profoundly affect migratory birds by altering their habitats, food sources, and migration routes. While gut microbiota is believed to play a role in helping birds adapt to environmental changes, research on how extreme weather impacts their gut microbiota and how these microbial communities respond to such conditions has been limited.Methods16S rRNA gene sequencing was utilized to investigate the gut microbiota of common cranes (Grus grus) wintering at Poyang Lake from 2020 to 2023, with a particular focus on their response to extreme drought conditions on both inter-annual and monthly timescales.ResultsThe results revealed that extreme drought conditions substantially impact gut microbiota, with inter-annual water-level fluctuations exerting a more pronounced impact on microbial community structure than that of inter-monthly fluctuations. Notably, a significant decline in bacterial diversity within the gut microbiota of common cranes was observed in the extreme drought year of 2022 compared with other years. Monthly observations indicated a gradual increase in gut microbial diversity, coinciding with relatively minor water-level changes. Key taxa that responded to drought included the Enterobacteriaceae family and Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus species. Additionally, functional genes related to carbohydrate metabolism, the phosphotransferase system, and the two-component systems were significantly enriched during the extreme drought year. These functions may represent adaptive mechanisms by which the gut microbiota of common cranes respond to drought stress.DiscussionThis research provides novel insights into the temporal variability of gut microbiota in wintering waterbirds, underscoring the significant impact of climatic fluctuations on microbial communities. The findings highlight the importance of understanding the ecological and functional responses of gut microbiota to extreme weather events, which is crucial for the conservation and management of migratory bird populations in the face of climate change.

BackgroundThe relationship between sex steroid hormones and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) levels in American children and adolescents is understudied. This research will examine this association.MethodsThe study conducted a data analysis from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2015-2016, adjusting multiple linear regression models with R 4.2.2 and EmpowerStats. A total of 1,768 children and adolescents were surveyed. Data collection involved measurements of serum levels of testosterone, estradiol, sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) and hs-CRP.ResultsWith the increase in testosterone, a brief rise (β=0.082, P=0.047) followed by an overall decline (β=-0.028, P=0.023) in hs-CRP was observed in the Male Prepubertal population, while a continuous decline (β=-0.002, P0.05) was detected in the Female Pubertal group. Abstract Disulfidptosis, a new type of regulated cell death associated with the actin cytoskeleton, provides a new therapeutic tool for cancers. The direct relationship between disulfidptosis-related lncRNAs(DRLs) in liver hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) remains unclear. We acquired transcriptomic data, corresponding clinical data, and tumor mutation data of HCC from the TCGA database. First of all, DRLs were determined through correlation analysis. Then, a prognostic model containing six DRLs was created by adopting univariate Cox regression, LASSO algorithm and multivariate Cox regression analysis. Based on the model, 424 HCC patients were divided into high- and low-risk groups. Next, we structured ROC curves and PCA through combining the model and clinical data. Enrichment analysis and immune infiltration analysis were adopted to further explore the relationship between the model and prognosis. In addition, we explored the relationship between the model and tumor mutation burden (TMB). There were significant differences between high- and low- risk groups, and patients in the high-risk group showed poor prognosis. Enrichment analysis suggested that metabolic progress was obviously different between the two groups. According to the analysis of immune infiltration, there were several differences in immune cells, function, and checkpoints. Patients with high-risk and high TMB demonstrated the least favorable prognosis. The two risk groups both manifested visiblly in chemotherapy drug sensitivity. To sum up, we set up a DRL-based signature and that may provide a predictable value for the prognosis and use of chemotherapy drugs for HCC patients.

Background Current diagnostic methods cannot effectively distinguish between latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) and active tuberculosis (ATB). This study aims to explore novel non-invasive diagnostic biomarkers for LTBI and to elucidate possible molecular mechanisms of LTBI pathogenesis.Methods Three GEO datasets (GSE19439, GSE19444, and GSE62525) were utilized to analyze the differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Functional enrichment studies were then performed on these DEGs. To ascertain potential diagnostic biomarkers, we utilized two different machine learning techniques: LASSO and RF. ROC curves were constructed in both the training and validation datasets to assess the diagnostic efficacy. The expression of identified biomarkers was verified by RT-qPCR in our own Chinese cohort. Using CIBERSORT, we estimated the abundances of 22 immune cell types in LTBI group, and subsequently analyzed the relationship between biomarker expression and immune cell infiltration.Results 166 DEGs were identified between ATB and LTBI groups, which are primarily associated with immune responses, inflammatory signaling pathways, and infection factors. Following that, 22 candidate diagnostic biomarkers for LTBI were selected in the machine learning process. Three up-regulated genes, MORN3, LLGL2, and IFT140, whose expression levels were not previously reported in TB, were validated using the training and validation cohort datasets. In our own Chinese cohort, we also found that MORN3 and LLGL2 showed good diagnostic effect using RT-qPCR method. Finally, we revealed the specific infiltration features of immune cells in LTBI and observed a notable correlation between potential marker expression and immune cells.Conclusions MORN3 and LLGL2 emerged as candidate diagnostic biomarkers for LTBI, following the elucidation of the key immune cell types involved. Our findings will contribute to providing a potential target for early noninvasive diagnosis of LTBI patients.

AbstractAutophagy is a highly conserved biological process in eukaryotes, which degrades cellular misfolded proteins, damaged organelles and invasive pathogens in the lysosome-dependent manner. Autoimmune diseases caused by genetic elements, environments and aberrant immune responses severely impact patients’ living quality and even threaten life. Recently, numerous studies have reported autophagy can regulate immune responses, and play an important role in autoimmune diseases. In this review, we summarised the features of autophagy and autophagy-related genes, enumerated some autophagy-related genes involved in autoimmune diseases, and further overviewed how to treat autoimmune diseases through targeting autophagy. Finally, we outlooked the prospect of relieving and curing autoimmune diseases by targeting autophagy pathway.

Coal-fired units play a critical role in peak-shaving and frequency regulation with high penetration of renewable energy. The coal-fired unit arranged by high-low position shafts applied in power stations will participate in these regulation processes. In this study, the dynamic model of the 1100 MW supercritical coal-fired unit is built and verified, dynamic characteristics of the primary frequency regulation process are analyzed and a poor control effect of the original control strategy is illustrated. Then, the dynamic coupling relationship between high and low-level units is obtained, and there is a 14-s time delay between the two power outputs, and a revised regulation strategy that employs load distribution factor and flow-rate feedforward-compensating is proposed. Compared with the original control strategy, the revised control strategy can effectively lower fluctuations of the steam parameters by approximately 50%, and the corrective regulation time decreases from 25.1 s and 15.8 s to 6.9 s and 12.1 s under positive and negative load disturbance, respectively. Moreover, it can improve the control effect of low-level unit, whose regulation time under positive and negative load disturbance decreases from 45.7 s and 27.7 s to 9.4 and 20.6 s, respectively. This research can provide technical guidance for the operation of coal-fired units.

BackgroundAeromonas dhakensis is a gram-negative bacterium. In recent years, Aeromonas dhakensis has gradually attracted increasing attention due to its strong virulence and poor prognosis. Clinical reports of pulmonary infection caused by Aeromonas dhakensis are rare.Case presentationA patient with acute T lymphoblastic leukemia experienced myelosuppression after chemotherapy, developed a secondary pulmonary infection with Aeromonas dhakensis and was hospitalized due to fever. The patient underwent testing for inflammatory markers, chest imaging, blood culture, bronchoalveolar lavage, pleural drainage, and metagenomic next-generation sequencing of alveolar lavage fluid and pleural fluid to obtain evidence of Aeromonas dhakensis infection, and was treated with four generations of cephalosporin combined with fluoroquinolone antibiotics. The patient’s condition significantly improved.DiscussionAmong pulmonary infectious pathogens, Aeromonas dhakensis is relatively rare. Once an Aeromonas strain is cultured in the clinical work, pathogenic sequencing should be performed on the detected samples for early accurate diagnosis and effective anti-infection treatment.

Abstract Background Escitalopram is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and one of the most commonly prescribed newer antidepressants (ADs) worldwide. We aimed to explore the efficacy, acceptability and tolerability of escitalopram in comparison with other ADs in the acute-phase treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). Methods Medline/PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and Clinical Trials.gov were searched from inception to July 10, 2023. Trial databases of drug-approving agencies were hand-searched for published, unpublished and ongoing controlled trials. All randomized controlled trials comparing escitalopram against any other antidepressant for patients with MDD. Responders and remitters to treatment were calculated on an intention-to-treat basis. For dichotomous data, risk ratios (RRs) were calculated with 95% confidence intervals (CI). Continuous data were analyzed using standardized mean differences (with 95% CI) using the random effects model. Results A total of 30 studies were included in this meta‑analysis, among which sixteen trials compared escitalopram with another SSRI and 14 compared escitalopram with a newer AD. Escitalopram was shown to be significantly more effective than citalopram in achieving acute response (RR 0.67, 95% CI 0.50—0.87). Escitalopram was also more effective than citalopram in terms of remission (RR 0.53, 95% CI 0.30—0.93). Conclusions Escitalopram was superior to other ADs for the acute phase treatment of MDD in terms of efficacy, acceptability and tolerability. However, no significant difference was found between escitalopram and other ADs in early response or follow-up response to treatment of MDD.

SiOC ceramics have been applied to the fabrication of electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbing metastructures by stereolithography and demonstrate excellent absorptivity due to the designability of the macrostructure. However, the pyrolysis of photosensitive polysiloxane preceramics may result in macroscopic cracking due to high mass loss and shrinkage. These factors can restrict the structural design flexibility. Combining high residual preceramics with appropriate solid phase fillers is one potential solution. In this study, two preceramics with high residual rates were physically blended with photosensitizing resins in various proportions. This was carried out with the objective of preparing photosensitized preceramics that have high ceramic yields and tunable dielectric properties in the final SiOC ceramics. Then, SiO2 fillers were incorporated into the photosensitive preceramics for the first time to reduce pyrolytic shrinkage and used to match the impedance matching properties of SiOC ceramics in order to enhance EMW absorption performance. The SiOC/SiO2 ceramics achieved a minimum reflection loss of −28.10 dB with a thickness of 1.90 mm. Additionally, the sample demonstrated an effective absorption bandwidth of 6.38 GHz at a thickness of 2.30 mm. The SiOC/SiO2 ceramics have potential applications in the rapid preparation of all-dielectric electromagnetic metamaterials, which exhibit the simplicity of the raw material preparation process and the wide effective absorption bandwidth with a high ceramics yield.

Abstract The prism-interprisms level of the enamel hierarchical microstructure is the largest degree of structural variation and most sophisticated structural adaptation. We studied the effect of the prism-interprisms three-dimension spatial microstructure on the enamel bond strength. We prepared 11 groups of enamel segments: longitudinally sectioned segments with or without a 45-degree bevel (group = 2), horizontally sectioned segments with or without a 45-degree bevel of three regions (the incisal, middle, and cervical) (group = 6), and tangential (labial) sectioned segments of three regions (the incisal, middle, and cervical) (group = 3). The finished surface of each segment was observed by scanning electric microscopy (SEM) before treatment with four self-etch adhesive systems and applied with four corresponding composite resins. Resin-bonded enamel samples were prepared in beams for microtensile bond strength (MTBS) tests. The results were analyzed with a three-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s post-hoc HSD multiple comparisons procedure. SEM observations revealed complex arrangements of prisms and interprisms. MTBS measurement showed that the longitudinally sectioned group had the lowest value, without significant differences between the groups with or without 45-degree bevel. Combining SEM observations and MTBS measurements, the prism-interprisms microstructure varied with the incisor regions, and different prism-interprisms microstructures allowed diverse sectioned surfaces, which could affect the enamel bonding.

Alternative splicing is an essential regulatory mechanism for development and pathogenesis. Through alternative splicing one gene can encode multiple isoforms and be translated into proteins with different functions. Therefore, this diversity is an important dimension to understand the molecular mechanism governing embryo development. Isoform expression in preimplantation embryos has been extensively investigated, leading to the discovery of new isoforms. However, the dynamics of isoform switching of different types of transcripts throughout the development remains unexplored. Here, using single-cell direct isoform sequencing in over 100 single blastomeres from the mouse oocyte to blastocyst stage, we quantified isoform expression and found that 3-prime partial transcripts lacking stop codons are highly accumulated in oocytes and zygotes. These transcripts are not transcription by-products and might play a role in maternal to zygote transition (MZT) process. Long-read sequencing also enabled us to determine the expression of transposable elements (TEs) at specific loci. In this way, we identified 3,894 TE loci that exhibited dynamic changes along the preimplantation development, likely regulating the expression of adjacent genes. Our work provides novel insights into the transcriptional regulation of early embryo development.

Background. Obesity is recognized as a major public health issue worldwide, characterized by a growing prevalence among adult males. Several studies have identified an association between obesity and sex steroid hormone levels but only a few have considered the relationship between waist circumference (WC) and sex hormone levels in adult males. This study therefore aimed to evaluate the relationships between waist circumference (WC) and various sex steroid hormone levels in adult males in the United States. Methods. This study analyzed data from 3,359 adult males aged 20 years and above, who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2013–2016 in the United States. We collected demographic data, including WC, and serum levels of testosterone, estradiol, SHBG, FAI, and T/E2 ratio. We adjusted the variables using multiple linear regression models with R 4.2.2 and EmpowerStats. Results. Purpose: To assess the impact of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) on clinical outcomes and liver histology in patients with hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (HSOS) caused by pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA), and compare these results with those of patients who received supportive treatment alone. Materials and methods: From June 2015 to August 2022, 164 patients diagnosed with PA-HSOS in six tertiary care centers were retrospectively included in this study and divided into TIPS group (n = 69) and supportive treatment (ST) group (n = 95). The main endpoint was to determine whether TIPS placement could improve survival in PA-HSOS patients. The clinical symptoms associated with portal hypertension were also evaluated in this study. Additionally, a small TIPS-subgroup of 7 patients received liver biopsies before and after TIPS for histological analysis. Results: The incidence of death was markedly lower in the TIPS group than in the ST group (log-rank p = 0.026). The influence of the node refers to the ability of the node to disseminate information. The faster and wider the node spreads, the greater its influence. There are many classical topological metrics that can be used to evaluate the influencing ability of nodes. Degree centrality, betweenness centrality, closeness centrality and local centrality are among the most common metrics for identifying influential nodes in complex networks. Degree centrality is very simple but not very effective. Global metrics such as betweenness centrality and closeness centrality can better identify influential nodes, but they are not compatible on large-scale networks due to their high complexity. In order to design a ranking method of influential nodes, in this paper a new semi-local centrality metric is proposed based on the relative change in the average shortest path of the entire network. Meanwhile, our metric provides a quantitative global importance model to measure the overall influence of each node. To evaluate the performance of the proposed centrality metric, we use the Susceptible-Infected-Recovered (SIR) epidemic model. Experimental results on several real-world networks show that the proposed metric has competitive performance in identifying influential nodes with existing equivalent centrality metrics and has high efficiency in dealing with large-scale networks. The effectiveness of the proposed metric has been proven with numerical examples and Kendall's coefficient.

The deformation behavior of nanoporous metal (NPM) is important for their wide range of applications. Strain hardening can effectively enhance the resistance to the deformation. Here we report a novel nanoporous CrFe alloy with ordered structure, which is fabricated by selective phase dissolution of the two-phase Al–Ni–Fe–Cr high entropy alloy. The formation mechanism, microstructure and deformation behavior are investigated in details. The ordered nanoporous CrFe alloy behaves rapid strain hardening and high resistance to deformation. Abstract The relationship between orogens and crustal growth is a fundamental issue in the Earth sciences. Here we present Nd isotope mapping results of felsic and intermediate igneous rocks from eight representative and well-studied Phanerozoic orogens. The results illustrate the distribution of isotopic domains that reflect the compositional architecture of the orogens. We calculated the areal proportion of juvenile crust and divided the orogens into five types: (i) highly juvenile (with >70% juvenile crust); (ii) moderately juvenile (70–50%; e.g., the Altaids with ~58% and the North American Cordillera with ~54%); (iii) mixed juvenile and reworked (50–30%; e.g., the Newfoundland Appalachians with ~40% and the Lachlan Orogen with ~31%); (iv) reworked (30–10%); (v) highly reworked (

Social media can improve patient education but may pose risks due to misinformation. There is no consensus on categorizing types of misinformation and harm. This study aimed to categorize and quantify misinformation and resultant harm from posts on YouTube, Pinterest, and Instagram on pelvic organ prolapse (POP), a prevalent benign condition that impacts quality of life. We conducted a descriptive study of 300 posts presented in these platforms in 2019. Using Fisher exact test, we show a significant difference in the distribution of misinformation between social media platforms. Harmful posts were most frequently present on Pinterest, leading to harmful inaction and economic harm.

With the advent of big data science, the field of geoscience has undergone a paradigm shift toward data-driven scientific discovery. However, the abundance of geoscience data distributed across multiple sources poses significant challenges to researchers in terms of data compilation, which includes data collection, collation, and database construction. To streamline the data compilation process, we present GeoKnowledgeFusion, a publicly accessible platform for the fusion of text, visual, and tabular knowledge extracted from the geoscience literature. GeoKnowledgeFusion leverages a powerful network of models that provide a joint multimodal understanding of text, image, and tabular data, enabling researchers to efficiently curate and continuously update their databases. To demonstrate the practical applications of GeoKnowledgeFusion, we present two scenarios: the compilation of Sm-Nd isotope data for constructing a domain-specific database and geographic analysis, and the data extraction process for debris flow disasters. The data compilation process for these use cases encompasses various tasks, including PDF pre-processing, target element recognition, human-in-the-loop annotation, and joint multimodal knowledge understanding. The findings consistently reveal patterns that align with manually compiled data, thus affirming the credibility and dependability of our automated data processing tool. To date, GeoKnowledgeFusion has supported forty geoscience research teams within the program by processing over 40,000 documents uploaded by geoscientists.

The fabrication of silver joints was done using the pressureless sintering technology to suit the demand of high-reliability schottky barrier diodes (SBD). Porosity of 10.6% and shear strength of 39.6 MPa were reached under the optimized parameters of 290°C sintering temperature and 40 min residence time. The sintered joint demonstrated good mechanical/thermal/electrical performance in the ultimate reliability assessment testing, including the temperature cycling test, second sintering test, steady-state lifetime test, and intermittent lifetime test. This study demonstrated the viability of pressureless sintering of silver joints with good high-temperature reliability, which has significant application potential for aeronautical high-reliability power electronics.

Background and aims: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) has become one of the major causes of cirrhosis and liver failure. However, there are currently no approved medications for managing NASH. Our study was designed to assess the effects of ginkgetin on NASH and the involved mechanisms.Methods: We constructed a mouse model of NASH by high-fat diet for 24 weeks. The effects of ginkgetin on NASH were evaluated by histological study, Western blot, and biochemical analysis. RNA Sequencing (RNA-Seq) analysis was used to investigate the alteration in gene expression and signaling pathways at bulk and single-cell levels.Results: Administration of ginkgetin resulted in a marked improvement in hepatic lipid accumulation, inflammation, and fibrosis in the NASH model. And these results were supported by bulk RNA-Seq analysis, in which the related signaling pathways and gene expression were markedly downregulated. Furthermore, single-cell RNA-Seq (scRNA-Seq) analysis revealed that the effects of ginkgetin on NASH were associated with the reprogramming of macrophages, hepatic stellate cells, and endothelial cells. Especially, ginkgetin induced a marked decrease in macrophages and a shift from pro-inflammatory to anti-inflammatory phenotype in NASH mice. And the NASH-associated macrophages (NAMs), which emerge during NASH, were also significantly downregulated by ginkgetin.Conclusion: Ginkgetin exhibits beneficial effects on improving NASH, supported by bulk and single-cell RNA-Seq. Our study may promote pharmacological therapy for NASH and raise the existent understanding of NASH.

Abstract The electrochemical stability window of the electrolyte solution limits the energy content of non-aqueous lithium metal batteries. In particular, although electrolytes comprising fluorinated solvents show good oxidation stability against high-voltage positive electrode active materials such as LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NCM811), the ionic conductivity is adversely affected and, thus, the battery cycling performance at high current rates and low temperatures. To address these issues, here we report the design and synthesis of a monofluoride ether as an electrolyte solvent with Li-F and Li-O tridentate coordination chemistries. The monofluoro substituent (-CH2F) in the solvent molecule, differently from the difluoro (-CHF2) and trifluoro (-CF3) counterparts, improves the electrolyte ionic conductivity without narrowing the oxidation stability. Indeed, the electrolyte solution with the monofluoride ether solvent demonstrates good compatibility with positive and negative electrodes in a wide range of temperatures (i.e., from −60 °C to +60 °C) and at high charge/discharge rates (e.g., at 17.5 mA cm−2). Using this electrolyte solution, we assemble and test a 320 mAh Li||NCM811 multi-layer pouch cell, which delivers a specific energy of 426 Wh kg−1 (based on the weight of the entire cell) and capacity retention of 80% after 200 cycles at 0.8/8 mA cm−2 charge/discharge rate and 30 °C.

Abstract Thrombocytopenia is the most frequent haematologic disorder in patients with cirrhosis, and it is perceived as a contributory factor for bleeding events. Cirrhosis patients with portal hypertension (PHT) is often accompanied with mild to moderate thrombocytopenia when they treated with transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). To address whether the risk of variceal hemorrhage after TIPS varies with different platelet count in patients with normal platelet count and thrombocytopenia, we conducted the retrospective controlled study to evaluate the association of platelet count with the risk of variceal bleeding after TIPS. 304 patients were selected to the study. Propensity score matching was performed to adjust for potential selection bias. 63 patients from each group could be paired. Cox proportional hazards models were used to evaluate the association between platelet and variceal bleeding after TIPS. Platelet counts of two groups are 185.0 ± 98.7 × 109/L (normal platelet count) and 70.6 ± 39.3 × 109/L (thrombocytopenia) respectively. The bleeding rates of two groups in overall cohort are 10.9% (normal platelet count) and 12.9% (thrombocytopenia). After matched, the bleeding rates of two groups are 11.1% (normal platelet count) and 14.3% (thrombocytopenia) There was no statistically significant difference in bleeding rates between the two groups, either in the whole cohort (P = 0.671) or in the matched cohort (P = 0.593). Platelet count was not associated with bleeding events after TIPS (hazard ratio (HR) 95% confidence interval: 0.986–1.005, P = 0.397 in normal platelet count and 95% confidence interval: 0.968–1.020, P = 0.648 in thrombocytopenia). Thrombocytopenia in patients with cirrhosis was not associated with the risk of variceal bleeding episodes post-TIPS. Thrombocytopenia should not be viewed as an absolute contraindication for TIPS.

Abstract In spite of similar efficacy and safety in pilot studies, compared with the contemporary durable polymer drug-eluting stent (DP-DES), the bioabsorbable polymer drug-eluting stent (BP-DES) may be more superior in promoting blood vessel healing. We sought to compare the safety and efficacy of everolimus-eluting BP-DES (BP-EES) with contemporary DP-DES through a meta-analysis. We performed this meta-analysis to provide further evidence of the safety and efficacy of BP-EES. Medline, Embase and the Cochrane library databases were searched for randomized controlled trials comparing clinical efficacy and safety of BP-EES versus contemporary DP-DES. Fifteen RCTs with a total of 15,572 patients were selected. The rate of MACE was 9.4% in patients receiving BP-EES and 7.3% receiving DP-EES (RR 1.13, 95% CI 0.99–1.29, p = 0.05; I 2 = 46%). TLF and MI were also similar in both groups. Based on the available data, this review demonstrates that BP-EES displays a clinically comparable efficacy and safety profile to that of contemporary DP-DES at years of follow-up in patients undergoing PCI.

Background To evaluate the changes of immune environment of distant tumors after combined microwave ablation (MWA) and anti- programmed death receptor − 1 (anti-PD-1) therapy, and assess the changes of systemic immune response. Methods Bilateral hepatocellular carcinoma model was established in mice, which were then subsequently treated with MWA, or anti-PD-1, or no treatment, or MWA + anti-PD-1. The contralateral tumor volume and mice survival time were recorded. Flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry were used for evaluation of the immune cells subgroup change of contralateral tumor. In addition, tumor rechallenge tests were conducted on unilateral tumor-bearing mice to examine the systemic immune effects of the combination therapy. Results We found that MWA treatment alone failed to produce a significant abscopal effect. In contrast, the combination group had longer survival than the MWA or anti-PD-1 group alone, with slower distant tumor growth. Moreover, the tumor-specific immune responses induced by combination therapy are stronger than anti-PD-1 or MWA alone. Combination therapy also elevated the levels of Th1-type cytokines in peripheral blood. In addition, after tumor rechallenge, the combination group showed more rejection to the reimplanted tumors (6 out of 10 mice). Conclusions The combination of MWA and anti-PD-1 therapy resulted in the inhibition of distant tumor growth and the construction of a systemic anti-tumor immune environment that can reduce recurrence.

Purpose: To evaluate the dynamic changes in liver function after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) creation in patients with cirrhosis and to explore its association with clinical outcomes. Methods: This retrospective study included patients who underwent TIPS between August 2016 and December 2020. Liver function was primarily evaluated using the model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) score, which was analyzed at baseline, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months using one-way repeated measures ANOVA. The Kaplan-Meier method, log-rank test, and multivariate analysis were used as appropriate. Results: In total, 235 patients were included in this study. The MELD score was significantly higher at 1 week (11.8 ​± ​3.1 vs 13.5 ​± ​3.5, p ​ ​0.05). At 12 months, the MELD score was higher than the baseline level (11.8 ​± ​3.1 vs 12.4 ​± ​3.2, p ​

ABSTRACT: Objectives: Available data show that COVID-19 vaccines may be less effective in people living with HIV (PLWH) who are at increased risk for severe COVID-19. This meta-analysis aimed to compare the immunogenicity and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines in PLWH with healthy individuals. Methods: Pubmed/Medline, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library were searched. Risk ratios of seroconversion were separately pooled using random-effects meta-analysis, and a systematic review without meta-analysis of SARS-CoV-2 antibody titer levels was performed after the first and second doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. Results: A total of 22 studies with 6522 subjects met the inclusion criteria. After the first vaccine dose, seroconversion in PLWH was comparable to that in healthy individuals. After a second dose, seroconversion was slightly lower in PLWH compared with healthy controls, and antibody titers did not seem to be significantly affected or reduced among participants of both groups. Conclusion: COVID-19 vaccines show favorable immunogenicity and efficacy in PLWH. A second dose is associated with consistently improved seroconversion, although it is slightly lower in PLWH than in healthy individuals. Additional strategies, such as a booster vaccination with messenger RNA COVID-19 vaccines, might improve seroprotection for these patients.

Abstract Purpose A large number of people with Crohn's disease (CD) fail to recover from conventional therapy or biological therapy. Some studies showed that adalimumab (ADA) may be an effective alternative therapy for these patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ADA in inducing CD remission. Methods We performed search of Pubmed/MEDLINE, Embase, CENTRAL, the Cochrane IBD Group Specialized Register, and several other databases. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing any dose of ADA with controls (placebo or active) in participants with active CD were included. The primary outcome was the failure to achieve clinical response/remission at 4 weeks. Several subgroup and sensitivity analyses were performed. Review Manager Software v5.3 was used. Results Four RCTs were included (n = 919), in which 553 participants received ADA and 366 participants received placebo. A meta-analysis of four studies showed that at 4 weeks, there were more people in the ADA group with clinical response/remission or symptom improvement compared with the placebo group. The rates of side effects, serious side effects, and study withdrawals due to side effects were lower in ADA participants than placebo ones. Conclusion This meta-analysis shows that ADA is superior to placebo in induction of clinical response/remission of CD patients, but no firm conclusions can be drawn on the safety of ADA in CD due to the low number of events. IntroductionThrombolysis treatment for acute ischaemic stroke can lead to better outcomes if administered early enough. However, contraindications exist which put the patient at greater risk of a bleed (e.g. recent major surgery, anticoagulant medication). Therefore, clinicians must check a patient's past medical history before proceeding with treatment. In this work we present a machine learning approach for accurate automatic detection of this information in unstructured text documents such as discharge letters or referral letters, to support the clinician in making a decision about whether to administer thrombolysis.MethodsWe consulted local and national guidelines for thrombolysis eligibility, identifying 86 entities which are relevant to the thrombolysis decision. A total of 8,067 documents from 2,912 patients were manually annotated with these entities by medical students and clinicians. Using this data, we trained and validated several transformer-based named entity recognition (NER) models, focusing on transformer models which have been pre-trained on a biomedical corpus as these have shown most promise in the biomedical NER literature.ResultsOur best model was a PubMedBERT-based approach, which obtained a lenient micro/macro F1 score of 0.829/0.723. Ensembling 5 variants of this model gave a significant boost to precision, obtaining micro/macro F1 of 0.846/0.734 which approaches the human annotator performance of 0.847/0.839. We further propose numeric definitions for the concepts of name regularity (similarity of all spans which refer to an entity) and context regularity (similarity of all context surrounding mentions of an entity), using these to analyse the types of errors made by the system and finding that the name regularity of an entity is a stronger predictor of model performance than raw training set frequency.DiscussionOverall, this work shows the potential of machine learning to provide clinical decision support (CDS) for the time-critical decision of thrombolysis administration in ischaemic stroke by quickly surfacing relevant information, leading to prompt treatment and hence to better patient outcomes.

Intro and objective: Inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) placement is the most common and definitive treatment for medically refractory erectile dysfunction, with an estimated 20,000 procedures performed per year. However, complications after penile prosthesis can occur with approximately 4% for non-infectious complications. Among these non-infectious complications, complete cylinder crossover is a rare complication, but can occur due to variable windows that exist in the corporal septum. Here we present a case of a complex distal septal defect caused by distal cylinder crossover and repair with Tutoplast graft. Methods: The patient is a 59-year-old African American male with a history of prostate cancer status post robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy in 2018 and IPP in September 2020. In 2022, the patient noted painful leftward penile curvature with erections and incomplete deflation of penile prosthesis. A physical exam showed crossover of the right prosthesis cylinder to the left. After thorough discussion of the risks and benefits of surgical revision and reconstruction of the penile prosthesis, the patient agreed to proceed with the procedure. We performed a right corporotomy, septal corporal reconstruction with 5 × 2 cm Tutoplast graft, and left the uninfected, functioning cylinder, redirected into the neocorporal space. Results: The surgery was completed without complication and the IPP was cycling well at the end of the case. At 6 weeks clinic follow-up, the patient's device was cycling properly, and the patient noted excellent erectile function, ability to orgasm, and minimal pain. Conclusions: We conclude that even in complex cases of septal defects, Tutoplast graft and proper seating and redirection of the displaced cylinder without replacement of existing functional hardware is a viable surgical method for IPP revision.

Introduction and Objective: Erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence are the most common sequelae after radical prostatectomy surgery. Inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) and Artificial Urinary Sphincter (AUS) placement are common surgical treatment options following conservative and medical treatment. Often these procedures require specific surgical expertise to improve patients’ quality of life and maximize outcomes. In select cases, patients require the treatment of both conditions either simultaneously or staged approach. To this extent, we acknowledged the paucity of high-quality surgical videos addressing the surgical nuance of simultaneous IPP and AUS implantation (1500). In this video, we aim to highlight a step-by-step surgical technique of IPP and AUS implantation. Methods: The patient is a 76-year-old African American male with a history of prostate cancer status post radical prostatectomy in 2019 complicated with PSA recurrence required subsequent external beam radiotherapy and androgen deprivation therapy with no evidence of disease recurrence at the time of the procedure. The patient presented to our cancer survivorship urologic clinic with bothersome Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) and medically refractory Erectile Dysfunction (ED) that failed prior therapeutic modalities as per AUA guidelines. After a thorough discussion of the risks, benefits, and potential complications, the patient elected to proceed with simultaneous IPP and AUS implantation via penoscrotal approach. During the procedure, we elected to first implant the AUS given the surgeon's preference and risk of the procedure. Following the successful placement of AUS, we proceeded to the IPP implantation. The corporotomy was made distally to the level of the AUS cuff to avoid damage and the IPP reservoir was placed on the contralateral side of the abdomen, opposite AUS pressure-regulating balloon. Results: The surgery was completed without complication and both the IPP and AUS were cycling well at the end of the surgery. At 6 weeks of clinic follow-up, the patient's devices were cycling properly, and the patient noted good erectile function and remarkable improvement in urinary continence. Conclusions: In select patients, a simultaneous IPP and AUS implantation can be a viable option for patients with bothersome ED and SUI.

Abstract Background Targeted puncture of an appropriate portal venous branch during transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) procedure may reduce the risk of postprocedural overt hepatic encephalopathy (HE). This study aimed to describe blood distribution under portography and combined it with puncture site to determine portal flow diversion, and to evaluate its prognostic value in predicting post-TIPS overt HE. Methods In this retrospective analysis of patients with cirrhosis undergoing TIPS, we included 252 patients to describe blood distribution under portography and 243 patients to assess the association between portal flow diversion and post-TIPS overt HE. Results At the first stage, 51 (20.2%) patients were identified as type A (unilateral type with the right portal branch receives blood from splenic vein [SV]), 16 (6.4%) as type B (unilateral type with the right branch receives blood from superior mesenteric vein [SMV]) and 185 (73.4%) as type C (fully mixed type). At the second stage, 40 patients were divided into the SV group, 25 into the SMV group and 178 into the mixed group. IntroductionThe research investigates the mechanism, diagnosis, treatment, and subsequent endocrine therapy of severe pancreatitis induced by tamoxifen treatment in patients who have undergone breast cancer surgery.Case presentationWe studied two cases of breast cancer in whom severe acute pancreatitis developed after taking tamoxifen for endocrine therapy in our hospital. A brief literature review was provided to analyze the causes, clinical manifestations, treatment process, and prognosis of severe acute pancreatitis. Both cases involved patients with severe hyperlipidemic pancreatitis. After conservative treatment, none of them died. Pancreatitis did not recur after changing endocrine therapy drugs.Discussion/conclusionEndocrine therapy with tamoxifen in breast cancer patients can induce hyperlipidemia, which can subsequently cause severe pancreatitis. The treatment of severe pancreatitis should strengthen the regulation of blood lipids. The application of low-molecular-weight heparin combined with insulin therapy can rapidly lower blood lipids. Involved treatments, including acid suppression, enzyme suppression, and peritoneal dialysis, can accelerate the recovery of pancreatitis and reduce the occurrence of serious complications. Patients with severe pancreatitis should not continue to use tamoxifen for endocrine therapy. To complete follow-up endocrine therapy, switching to a steroidal aromatase inhibitor is better if the situation allows it.

Background: The anti-TNF drugs adalimumab (ADA) and infliximab (IFX) are effective treatments for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, 40% of patients lose response, often due to the development of antibodies-to-ADA (ATA) and antibodies-to-IFX (ATI). While low ATA/ATI titres (less than 200 ng/mL) are associated with better outcomes and high ATA/ATI titres (>1,000 ng/mL) are associated with poorer outcomes, the significance of intermediate ATA/ATI titres (200–999 ng/mL) is not well understood. This study aims to investigate the impact of intermediate ATA/ATI titres on outcomes in patients with IBD. Methods: A retrospective chart review of 376 patients with IBD was conducted. The primary clinical outcome was persistence on anti-TNF therapy for 1 year after the measurement of ATA/ATI titres. The participants consisted of patients with IBD treated with IFX or ADA at the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program between October 2016 and October 2019. Results: Out of 322 patients with low titres, 271 persisted on their original anti-TNF, compared with nine out the 15 patients with intermediate titres (p=0.026) and one out the 10 patients with high titres (p less than 0.0001). The odds ratio of persistence when comparing intermediate titres to low titres was 0.26 (0.09–0.80), and when comparing high titres to low titres was 0.02 (0.00–0.14). Conclusion: Patients with intermediate titres were more likely to lose response to anti-TNF drugs and require a change in anti-TNF therapy than patients with low titres. Although the sample size of patients with intermediate titres was small, providers should consider dose optimisation of anti-TNF drugs, with or without the addition of an immunosuppressant, when intermediate titres are present.

Abstract Objective The purpose of this study was to explore the efficacy and safety of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with apatinib and camrelizumab (TACE + AC) for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and the impact of the timing of the combination on it. Methods In this single-arm retrospective study, consecutive data of patients with unresectable HCC treated to our hospital from March 2017 to September 2021 were collected. These patients were treated with TACE and started on camrelizumab and apatinib within one week of TACE. Camrelizumab 200 mg intravenously once every three weeks and apatinib 250 mg orally once daily. Repeat TACE treatment was available on an on-demand basis. The primary endpoints were overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). Secondary endpoints included objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), and safety. The univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were used to assess the effect of early and late combination on OS and PFS. Results A total of 80 patients were enrolled in this study. The median OS was 22.1 months (95% confidence interval [CI]: 13.8–30.5 months) and the median PFS was 15.7 months (95% CI: 14.7–16.6 months). The ORR was 58.8% (95% CI: 47.2–69.6) and DCR reached 81.2% (95% CI: 71.0–89.1). Multivariable Cox proportional hazard regression analyses showed that TACE late combined with apatinib and camrelizumab provided better OS than early combination (HR = 0.175, 95% CI:0.060–0.509, P = 0.001), as did PFS (HR = 0.422, 95% CI:0.184–0.967, P = 0.041). All treatment-related adverse events were tolerable, and no serious adverse events were observed. Conclusion TACE combined with apatinib plus camrelizumab for patients with unresectable HCC has promising antitumor activity and a manageable safety profile. For unresectable HCC with large tumor burden, late combination provides better OS and PFS compared to early combination.

In the present work, the recent advancements in additive manufacturing (AM) techniques for fabricating nanocomposite parts with complex shaped structures are explained, along with defect non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. A brief overview of the AM processes for nanocomposites is presented, grouped by the type of feedstock used in each technology. This work also reviews the defects in nanocomposites that can affect the quality of the final product. Additionally, a detailed description of X-CT, ultrasonic phased array technology, and infrared thermography is provided, highlighting their potential application in non-destructive inspection of nanocomposites in the future. Lastly, it concludes by offering recommendations for the development of NDT methods specifically tailored for nanocomposites, emphasizing the need to utilize NDT methods for optimizing nano-additive manufacturing process parameters, developing new NDT techniques, and enhancing the resolution of existing NDT methods.

Patients with solid cancer have an increased risk of severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and associated mortality than the general population. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the currently available evidence about the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines in patients with solid cancer. We included prospective studies comparing the immunogenicity and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines between patients with solid cancer and healthy individuals. Relative risks of seroconversion after the first and second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine were separately pooled with the use of random effects meta-analysis. Thirty studies with 11,245 subjects met the inclusion criteria. After first vaccine dose, the pooled RR of seroconversion in patients with solid cancer vs healthy individuals was 0.54 (95% CI 0.38–0.78, I2 = 94%). After a second dose, the pooled RR of seroconversion in patients with solid cancer vs healthy controls was 0.87 (0.86–0.88, I2 = 87%). Our review suggests that, compared with healthy individuals, COVID-19 vaccines show favorable immunogenicity and efficacy in patients with solid cancer. A second dose is associated with significantly improved seroconversion, although it is slightly lower in patients with solid cancer compared with healthy individuals.

Highlights A creative cooperative strategy involving silk fibroin/sericin is proposed for stabilizing high-performance flexible Li–S full batteries with a limited Li excess of 90% by simultaneously inhibiting lithium dendrites, adsorbing liquid polysulfides, and anchoring solid lithium sulfides. Such fabric Li–S full batteries offer high volumetric energy density (457.2 Wh L−1), high-capacity retention (99.8% per cycle), and remarkable bending capability (6000 flexing cycles at a small radius of 5 mm). Abstract Lithium–sulfur batteries are highly appealing as high-energy power systems and hold great application prospects for flexible and wearable electronics. However, the easy formation of lithium dendrites, shuttle effect of dissolved polysulfides, random deposition of insulating lithium sulfides, and poor mechanical flexibility of both electrodes seriously restrict the utilization of lithium and stabilities of lithium and sulfur for practical applications. Herein, we present a cooperative strategy employing silk fibroin/sericin to stabilize flexible lithium–sulfur full batteries by simultaneously inhibiting lithium dendrites, adsorbing liquid polysulfides, and anchoring solid lithium sulfides. Benefiting from the abundant nitrogen- and oxygen-containing functional groups, the carbonized fibroin fabric serves as a lithiophilic fabric host for stabilizing the lithium anode, while the carbonized fibroin fabric and the extracted sericin are used as sulfiphilic hosts and adhesive binders, respectively, for stabilizing the sulfur cathode. Consequently, the assembled Li–S full battery provided a high areal capacity (5.6 mAh cm−2), limited lithium excess (90%), a high volumetric energy density (457.2 Wh L−1), high-capacity retention (99.8% per cycle), and remarkable bending capability (6000 flexing cycles at a small radius of 5 mm).

As a result of their cell structures, elastomeric foams exhibit high compressibility and are frequently used as buffer cushions in energy absorption. Foam pads between two surfaces typically withstand uniaxial loads. In this paper, we considered the effects of porosity and cell size on the mechanical behavior of random elastomeric foams, and proposed a constitutive model based on an artificial neural network (ANN). Uniform cell size distribution was used to represent monodisperse foam. The constitutive relationship between Cauchy stress and the four input variables of axial stretch λU, lateral stretch λL, porosity φ, and cell size θ was given by con-ANN. The mechanical responses of 500 different foam structures (20% < φ < 60%, 0.1 mm < θ < 0.5 mm) under compression and tension loads (0.4 < λU < 3) were simulated, and a dataset containing 100,000 samples was constructed. We also introduced a pre-ANN to predict lateral stretch to address the issue of missing lateral strain data in practical applications. By combining physical experience, we chose appropriate input forms and activation functions to improve ANN’s extrapolation capability. The results showed that pre-ANN and con-ANN could provide reasonable predictions for λU outside the dataset. We can obtain accurate lateral stretch and axial stress predictions from two ANNs. The porosity affects the stress and λL, while the cell size only affects the stress during foam compression.

A novel network model “bidirectional depth residuals gated recurrent unit network (BDR-GRU) ” is designed and implemented for improving the effectiveness of Image Captioning. BDR-GRU is designed based on encoder and decoder architecture. Moreover, the network can run on an NVIDIA JETSON TX2 processor, which makes the algorithm applied to mobile robots. In the encoding stage, the convolution neural network is used to obtain the multi-dimensional vector information of the image, and the BDR-GRU network is used to complete the sentence generation in the decoding stage. The BDR-GRU network model is a new recurrent neural network model, which is improved on the basics of the GRU network. Firstly, the layer of the GRU network is increased from a single layer to multiple layers. Secondly, the bidirectional derivation structure is redesigned to enhance the ability of derivation. Finally, the residual mechanism between levels is designed to prevent the disappearance of gradient and over-fitting caused by the increase of the layers. Experiments are carried out on TX2 processor and have been done to verify the effectiveness of our design, and the results are compared with img-gLSTM network model, neural talk model, attention model, and unidirectional GRU model, then the results are analyzed. The experimental results show that the CIDEr evaluation value of our network model is 12.7% higher than that of the img-gLSTM network and 14.6% higher than that of the Neural Talk network, other evaluation indicators also improve significantly. The experimental results prove the significance of our BDR-GRU model.

As a fundamental issue in type theory, indexed coinductive data types (ICDT, for short) is of crucial importance, which is essentially semantic computing problem in programming. Based on fibrational method, this paper analyses semantic behaviours of ICDT and describes their universal coinductive rules. We executed some works in semantic computing and program logic of ICDT including their math structures and categorical properties. Example analyses prove the effectiveness of the proposed fibrational method and its applicability in program languages. Our work is based on fibration; a general math setting that can compute semantics automatically rather than depend on particular computing environments and syntactic forms of ICDT.
