Abstract

An analysis of a proteomic is conducted over time with high-cell-density, industrial, phosphate-limited Escherichia coli fermentations at the 10-litre scale using two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. E.coli protein changes associated with culture conditions were distinguished from protein changes associated with heterologous protein expression.

Abstract

A study of NEUT2 homozygous mice reveals the absence of two liver proteins, isoforms of the 10-formyl-THF DH in the liver 2DE patterns. The NH2-terminals of the two proteins are similar in the first 25 residues that match rat and human 10-formyl-THF DH sequences. The 10-formyl-THF DH structural gene of homozygous mice contains a restriction fragment length polymorphism, indicating the presence of a deletion mutation. Northern blot analysis of the 10-formyl-THF DH protein-absent mice reveals the absence of 10-pormyl-THF DH mRNA.
