This thesis is devoted to the study of different random graphs, defined by local properties (suchas the distribution of the degrees of the vertices, or the probability that two given vertices sharean edge). We investigate some of their global characteristics, in particular their geometry andthe behaviour of random walks. It consists of three independent parts. In each of them, thelocal limit of the random graph is a tree, and a fine comparison between the tree and the graphallows to implement properties of the former on the latter.• The first part (Chapter 2) is about the scaling limit of a critical random graph, more pre-cisely a configuration model with independent and identically distributed degrees havingpower-law heavy tail behaviour: there is a variance, but no third moment. It was knownthat the largest connected components of this graph scale like Θ(n a ) if the graph is on nvertices, for some model-dependent constant a. We prove that their structure convergesto a biased version of a particular random R-tree, the stable tree, to which one adds afinite number of cycles.• The second part (Chapter 3) is devoted to the Gaussian free field on random d-regulargraphs. We study its percolation above a fixed level. If this level is below a certain criticalthreshold, we establish the emergence with high probability of a unique giant componentcontaining a positive proportion of the vertices, surrounded by islets of logarithmic size,while only the latter survive above the critical threshold. We show that this big continentshares remarkable similarities with the giant component of a famous random graph, theErdős-Rényi model.• The third part (Chapter 4) deals with random walks on random lifts of an arbitraryfinite base graph. Random lifts are sparse graphs with good connectivity properties anda regular structure, the associated tree being periodic. We prove that the random walkon these graphs admits a cutoff, i.e. there is a brutal transition between the time when itis still localized around its starting point, and the time when we have completely lost itstrack.The last two parts have been realized in Paris under the supervision of Justin Salez, between2017 and 2021. On étudie la percolation du champ libre au-dessus d’un niveau fixé.Si on baisse ce niveau en-dessous d’un certain seuil critique, on établit l’émergence avecgrande probabilité d’une unique composante connexe géante englobant une proportionpositive des sommets, entourée d’ilôts de taille logarithmique, tandis que seuls ces dernierssurvivent au-dessus du seuil critique. On montre alors que ce grand continent admetde remarquables similitudes avec la composante géante d’un graphe aléatoire célèbre, lemodèle d’Erdős-Rényi.• La troisième partie (Chapitre 4) traite de marches aléatoires sur des relèvements aléatoires(”random lifts”) d’un graphe fini quelconque donné. Ces relèvements sont des graphes peudenses mais avec de bonnes propriétés de connectivité et une structure assez régulière,l’arbre associé étant périodique. On prouve que la marche aléatoire sur ces graphes admetun cutoff, c’est-à-dire qu’il y a une transition brusque entre le moment où le marcheurest encore localisé autour de son point de départ, et celui où on a définitivement perdu satrace.Les deux dernières parties ont été réalisées à Paris sous la direction de Justin Salez entre 2017 et2021. La première est issue d’une collaboration avec Christina Goldschmidt (Oxford Statistics),initiée en 2016 lors d’un stage de recherche et poursuivie jusqu’en 2020.

This thesis provides new results concerning the phase transition of percolation models, specially Bernoulli percolation and level-sets of the Gaussian free field. The common technique used in theses results consists in comparing two different percolation models by continuously interpolating between them. The main purpose of this thesis is to illustrate how this technique can be applied to a wider variety of contexts than those previously studied., Cette thèse fournit de nouveaux résultats concernant la transition de phase des modèles de percolation, en particulier la percolation de Bernoulli et les lignes de niveau du champ libre gaussien. La technique commune utilisée dans ces résultats consiste à comparer deux modèles de percolation différents en construisant une famille de modèles interpolant entre les deux. L’objectif principal de cette thèse est d’illustrer comment cette technique peut être appliquée dans un large contexte.

Dans cette thèse, nous étudions les valeurs extrêmes de certains champs aléatoires log-corrélés qui sont gaussiens (le champ libre gaussien inhomogène et la marche aléatoire branchante inhomogène) ou approximativement gaussiens (le log-module de la fonction zêta de Riemann sur la ligne critique et un modèle-jouet randomisé de celui-ci), ainsi que les propriétés asymptotiques de divers estimateurs en statistique. Outre l'introduction et la conclusion, la thèse est divisée en trois parties, chacune contenant trois articles. La première partie contient trois articles sur les champs gaussiens log-corrélés. Le premier article montre le premier ordre de convergence du maximum et du nombre de hauts points pour le champ libre gaussien inhomogène sur tout son domaine. Le deuxième article utilise les résultats du premier article pour montrer que la loi limite de la mesure de Gibbs est une cascade de Ruelle avec un certain nombre d'échelles effectives (un arbre de processus de Poisson-Dirichlet). Le troisième article montre la tension du maximum recentré pour la marche aléatoire branchante inhomogène. La deuxième partie contient trois articles sur la fonction zêta de Riemann. Le premier article montre que, à basse température, la loi limite de la mesure de Gibbs d'un modèle-jouet randomisé du log-module de zêta sur la ligne critique est un processus de Poisson-Dirichlet. Le deuxième article concerne le problème ouvert de la tension du maximum recentré pour ce modèle-jouet sur un intervalle de longueur $O(1)$. Nous simplifions le problème en montrant que le maximum continue se situe à une constante près d'un maximum discret sur $O(\log T \sqrt{\log \log T})$ points. Le troisième article montre le premier ordre de convergence du maximum et de l'énergie libre pour le log-module de la fonction zêta de Riemann sur des intervalles courts de longueur $O(\log^{\theta} T)$, $\theta > -1$, de la ligne critique. La troisième partie contient trois articles traitant de sujets divers en statistique asymptotique. Le premier article montre la monotonicité complète des probabilités multinomiales et ouvre la porte sur l'étude des propriétés asymptotiques des estimateurs de Bernstein sur le simplexe. Le deuxième article prouve une loi uniforme des grands nombres pour les sommes contenant des termes qui « explosent ». Le troisième article trouve la loi limite d'une statistique de score modifiée lorsqu'on teste un membre donné de la famille des lois exponentielles de puissances contre la famille des lois de puissances asymétriques. Toute l'information se trouve sur mon site web personnel : https://sites.google.com/site/fouimet26/research., In this thesis, we study the extreme values of certain log-correlated random fields that are Gaussian (the scale-inhomogeneous Gaussian free field and the time-inhomogeneous branching random walk) or approximatively Gaussian (the log-modulus of the Riemann zeta function on the critical line and a randomized toy model of it), as well as asymptotic properties of various estimators in statistics. Apart from the introduction and conclusion, the thesis is divided in three parts, each containing three articles. The first part contains three articles on log-correlated Gaussian fields. The first article shows the first order convergence of the maximum and the number of high points for the scale-inhomogeneous Gaussian free field on its full domain. The second article uses the results from the first article to show that the limiting law of the Gibbs measure is a Ruelle probability cascade with a certain number of effective scales (a tree of Poisson-Dirichlet processes). The third article shows the tightness of the recentered maximum for the time-inhomogeneous branching random walk. The second part contains three articles on the Riemann zeta function. The first article shows that, at low temperature, the limiting law of the Gibbs measure for a randomized toy model of the log-modulus of zeta on the critical line is a Poisson-Dirichlet process. The second article deals with the open problem of the tightness of the recentered maximum for this toy model on an interval of length $O(1)$. We simplify the problem by showing that the continuous maximum is at the order of constant away from a discrete maximum over $O(\log T \sqrt{\log \log T})$ points. The third article shows the first order of convergence of the maximum and the free energy for the log-modulus of the Riemann zeta function on short intervals of length $O(\log^{\theta} T)$, $\theta > -1$, on the critical line. The third part contains three articles treating various topics in asymptotic statistics. The first article shows the complete monotonicity of multinomial probabilities and opens the door to the study of the asymptotic properties of Bernstein estimators on the simplex. The second article shows a uniform law of large numbers for sums containing terms that ``blow up''. The third article finds the limiting law of a modified score statistic when we test a given member of the exponential power distribution family against the family of asymmetric power distributions. Lupu introduced a coupling between a random walk loop-soup and a Gaussian free field, where the sign of the field is constant on each cluster of loops. This coupling is a signed version of isomorphism theorems relating the square of the GFF to the occupation field of Markovian trajectories. His construction starts with a loop-soup, and by adding additional randomness samples a GFF out of it. In this article we provide the inverse construction: starting from a signed free field and using a self-interacting random walk related to this field, we construct a random walk loop-soup. Our construction relies on the previous work by Sabot and Tarr\`es, which inverts the coupling from the square of the GFF rather than the signed GFF itself. As a consequence, we also deduce an inversion of the coupling between the random current and the FK-Ising random cluster models introduced by Lupu and Werner., Comment: 28 pages, 1 figure

The present thesis is devoted to the study of the effect of a perturbation on the spectrum of a Hermitian matrix by a random matrix with small operator norm and whose entries in the eigenvector basis of the first one were independent, centered and with a variance profile. This is carried out through perturbative expansions of various types of spectral laws of the considered perturbed large matrices. First, we demonstrate different perturbative expansions of the empirical spectral measure in the cases of the perturbative regime and the semi-perturbative regime and highlight well known heuristic patterns in Physics, as the transition between semi-perturbative and perturbative regimes. Secondly, we provide a thorough study of the semi-perturbative regime and prove the new fact that this regime could be decomposed into infinitely many sub-regimes. Finally, we prove, through a perturbative expansion of spectral measures associated to the state defined by a given vector, a perturbative expansion of the coordinates of the eigenvectors of the perturbed matrices.; La présente thèse est consacrée à l’étude de l’effet d’une perturbation sur le spectre d’une matrice hermitienne perturbée par une matrice aléatoire de petite norme opérateur et dont les entrées dans la base propre de la première matrice sont indépendantes, centrées et possèdent un profil de variance. Ceci est réalisé au travers de développements perturbatifs de divers types des lois spectrales des grandes matrices perturbées considérées. Dans un premier temps, nous démontrons différents développements perturbatifs de la mesure spectrale empirique dans les cas du régime perturbatif et du régime semi-perturbatif et mettons en évidence des modèles heuristiques bien connus en physique, comme la transition entre les régimes semi-perturbatifs et perturbatifs. Dans un deuxième temps, nous proposons une étude approfondie du régime semi-perturbatif et prouvons le fait nouveau que ce régime peut être décomposé en un nombre infini de sous-régimes. Enfin, nous démontrons, au travers d’un développement perturbatif des mesures spectrales associées à un vecteur donné, un développement perturbatif des coordonnées des vecteurs propres des matrices perturbées que nous considérons.

Ce mémoire étudie le comportement du maximum et des hauts points de la marche aléatoire branchante et du champ libre gaussien discret en dimension deux lorsque la variance de leurs accroissements est inhomogène dans le temps. Nous regardons le cas où il y a un nombre fini d'échelles $0 = \lambda_0 < \lambda_1 < ... < \lambda_M = 1$ et des paramètres de variance $\sigma_i > 0$ associés aux intervalles de temps $[\lambda_{i-1},\lambda_i]$. La marche aléatoire branchante inhomogène généralise le modèle considéré dans [23] et le champ libre gaussien inhomogène généralise le modèle introduit dans [4]. Le but du mémoire est d'étendre les résultats connus sur la convergence du maximum [5,6,23] et le nombre de hauts points [16] à ces deux nouveaux champs gaussiens. Les résultats aident à mieux comprendre comment la perturbation des corrélations dans l'un ou l'autre des modèles de base influence l'ordre de grandeur du maximum et l'ordre du nombre de hauts points., This thesis studies the behavior of the maximum and high points of the branching random walk and the Gaussian free field when the variance of their increments is time-inhomogeneous. We look at the case where there are a finite number of scales $0 = \lambda_0 < \lambda_1 < ... < \lambda_M = 1$ and variance parameters $\sigma_i > 0$ associated with the time intervals $[\lambda_{i-1},\lambda_i]$. The inhomogeneous branching random walk generalizes the model considered in [23] and the inhomogeneous Gaussian free field generalizes the model introduced in [4]. The purpose of the thesis is to extend known results on the convergence of the maximum [5,6,23] and the number of high points [16] to these new Gaussian fields. In this thesis we study the geometry of the Gaussian free field (GFF). After a gentle general introduction, we describe what we call the Hodge decomposition of the white noise – a way to represent the white noise vector field as a sum of a gradient and a rotation of independent GFFs. This decomposition gives rise to the Donsker invariance principle for the GFF.Next, we revisit from a slightly different angle the theory of so-called local sets of the GFF, introduced by Schramm and Sheffield. These random sets allow one to study the geometry of the GFF in a Markovian way. We also go a step further in describing the behaviour of the field near the boundary of possibly several local sets. The first chapter ends with a study of boundary oscillations of the GFF.The GFF is only a generalized function, yet it comes out that one can still make sense of it as a „random landscape“. In particular, Schramm and Sheffield gave meaning to the level lines of the GFF in terms of a coupling with SLE_4 process. In chapter 2 we study this coupling and describe the existent proofs and a non-proof of measurability of the SLE_4 process in this coupling. The rest of this chapter contains one of the most technical parts of the thesis – we obtain fine estimates on the winding of the SLE curves, conditioned to pass closely by a fixed point.This technical work is put in use in chapter 3, where we study the so called KPZ relation. In this context, the KPZ formula relates fractal dimensions of sets under the Euclidean geometry and under the „quantum geometry“ given by the exponential of the GFF. So far the KPZ formula was derived for planar sets independent of the quantum geometry. Here, we determine the KPZ formulas for sets that are naturally coupled with the quantum geometry – for the flow and level lines of the GFF. The family of KPZ formulas obtained resemble but still differ from the KPZ formula for independent sets., Cette thèse porte sur la géométrie du champ libre Gaussien. Le champ libre Gaussien est un objet central en théorie quantique des champs et représente entre autre les fluctuations naturelles d'un potentiel électrique ou d’un modèle de dimères. La thèse commence dans le discret avec la démonstration d'un principe de Donsker en dimension plus grande que 1. Ce résultat est établi grâce à une nouvelle façon de représenter le champ libre en exprimant son gradient comme la partie gradient d'un champ de bruits blancs. Ensuite, les processus d'exploration du champ libre - ou ensembles locaux - introduits par Schramm-Sheffield sont étudiés en détail. Ces ensembles locaux généralisent de façon naturelle le concept de temps d'arrêt. On formalise cette théorie d'une nouvelle manière en procédant par analogie au cas 1D. Pour mieux comprendre le comportement du champs libre près des points d'intersection des ensembles locaux, un étude fine des oscillations du champ libre 2D près du bord s'avère utile. Enfin, la partie principale de cette thèse étudie des processus d'explorations particuliers – les processus SLE qui sont couplés naturellement avec le champ libre. On peut donner par exemple un sens aux lignes de niveau en utilisant le processus SLE_4 (Schramm-Sheffield). Nous avons utilisé ce couplage pour mieux comprendre la relation dite de KPZ qui intervient dans la théorie de la gravité quantique de Liouville. A l ‘aide de résultats fins sur l’enroulement des SLEs, nous avons montré comment adapter la relation de KPZ à la famille ci-dessus de processus d’explorations du champ libre. On peut interpréter ces résultats aussi comme une description de la géométrie du champ libre près des ces lignes d’exploration.

Ce mémoire porte sur l’étude des maxima de champs gaussiens. Plus précisément, l’étude portera sur la convergence en loi, la convergence du premier ordre et la convergence du deuxième ordre du maximum d’une collection de variables aléatoires gaussiennes. Les modèles de champs gaussiens présentés sont le modèle i.i.d., le modèle hiérarchique et le champ libre gaussien. Ces champs gaussiens diffèrent par le degré de corrélation entre les variables aléatoires. Le résultat principal de ce mémoire sera que la convergence en probabilité du premier ordre du maximum est la même pour les trois modèles. Quelques résultats de simulations seront présentés afin de corroborer les résultats théoriques obtenus., In this study, results about maxima of different Gaussian fields will be presented. More precisely, results for the convergence of the first order of the maximum of a set of Gaussian variables will be presented. Some results on the convergence of the second order, and of the law will also be explained. The models presented here are the Gaussian field of i.i.d. variables, the hierarchical model and the Gaussian free fields model. These fields differ from one another by their correlation structure. The main result of this study is that the first order convergence in probability of the maximum is the same for the three models. Finally, numerical simulations results will be presented to confirm theoretical results.

This thesis focuses on various relations between SLE, CLE and GFF. In Chapter 2, we give a construction of SLE(k,r) processes from CLE(k) loop configuration and chordal restriction samples. Sheffield and Werner has proved that CLE(k) can be constructed from symmetric SLE(k,k-6) exploration processes. We prove in Chapter 3 that the loop configuration constructed from the asymmetric SLE(k,k-6) exploration processes also give the same law CLE(k). SLE(4) can be viewed as level lines of GFF and CLE(4) can be viewed as the collection of level lines of GFF. We define a conformally invariant time parameter for each loop in CLE(4) in the second part of Chapter 3 and then give a coupling between GFF and CLE(4) with time parameter in Chapter 4. SLE(k,r) can be viewed as flow lines of GFF. We derive the Hausdorff dimension of the intersection of two flow lines in GFF. Then, from there, we obtain the dimension of the cut and double point set of SLE curve in Chapter 5. In Chapter 6, we define the radial restriction measure, prove the characterization of these measures, and show the if and only if condition for the existence of radial restriction measure.; Cette thèse porte sur les relations entre les processus SLE, les ensembles CLE et le champ libre Gaussien.
