In human social systems, debates are often seen as a means to resolve differences of opinion. However, in reality, debates frequently incur significant communication costs, especially when dealing with stubborn opponents. Inspired by this phenomenon, this paper examines the impact of malicious agents on the evolution of normal agents' opinions from the perspective of opinion evolution cost, and proposes corresponding solutions for the scenario in which malicious agents hold different opinions in multi-agent systems(MASs). First, this paper analyzes the negative impact of malicious agents on the opinion evolution process, reveals the additional evolution cost it brings, and provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent solutions. Secondly, based on the characteristics of opinion evolution, the malicious agent isolation algorithm based on opinion evolution direction vector is proposed, which does not strongly restrict the proportion of malicious agents. Additionally, an evolution rate adjustment mechanism is introduced, allowing the system to flexibly regulate the evolution process in complex situations, effectively achieving the trade-off between opinion evolution rate and cost. Extensive numerical simulations demonstrate that the algorithm can effectively eliminate the negative influence of malicious agents and achieve a balance between opinion evolution costs and convergence speed., Comment: 20 pages, 12 figures, 2 tables. Lyric-to-melody generation is a highly challenging task in the field of AI music generation. Due to the difficulty of learning strict yet weak correlations between lyrics and melodies, previous methods have suffered from weak controllability, low-quality and poorly structured generation. To address these challenges, we propose CSL-L2M, a controllable song-level lyric-to-melody generation method based on an in-attention Transformer decoder with fine-grained lyric and musical controls, which is able to generate full-song melodies matched with the given lyrics and user-specified musical attributes. Specifically, we first introduce REMI-Aligned, a novel music representation that incorporates strict syllable- and sentence-level alignments between lyrics and melodies, facilitating precise alignment modeling. Subsequently, sentence-level semantic lyric embeddings independently extracted from a sentence-wise Transformer encoder are combined with word-level part-of-speech embeddings and syllable-level tone embeddings as fine-grained controls to enhance the controllability of lyrics over melody generation. Then we introduce human-labeled musical tags, sentence-level statistical musical attributes, and learned musical features extracted from a pre-trained VQ-VAE as coarse-grained, fine-grained and high-fidelity controls, respectively, to the generation process, thereby enabling user control over melody generation. Finally, an in-attention Transformer decoder technique is leveraged to exert fine-grained control over the full-song melody generation with the aforementioned lyric and musical conditions. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed CSL-L2M outperforms the state-of-the-art models, generating melodies with higher quality, better controllability and enhanced structure. Using $(27.12\pm 0.14)\times 10^{8}$ $\psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, the decay $\psi(3686)\to\Sigma^{0}\bar{\Sigma}^{0}\phi$ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of 7.6$\sigma$. Its branching fraction is measured to be $(2.64 \pm 0.32_{\textrm{stat}} \pm 0.12_{\textrm{sys}}) \times 10^{-6}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition, we search for potential intermediate states in the $\Sigma^{0}\phi$($\bar{\Sigma}^{0}\phi$) invariant mass distribution and a possible threshold enhancement in the $\Sigma^{0}\bar{\Sigma}^{0}$ system, but no conclusive evidence of is observed.

In 1958, Anderson proposed a new insulating mechanism in random lattices, now known as Anderson localization. It has been shown that a metal-insulating transition occurs in three dimensions, and that one-dimensional disordered systems can be solved exactly to show strong localization regardless of the strength of disorders. Meanwhile, the two-dimensional case was known to be localizing from a scaling argument. Here, we report that there exists a mobility edge in certain random potentials which separate the extended-like states from short-ranged localized states. We further observe that the location of the mobility edge depends on the typical wavelength of the potential, and that the localization length are are related to the energy of an eigenstate. Finally, we apply a renormalization group theory to explain the localization effects and the existence of mobility edge and propose an experimental scheme to verify the mobility edge in photonic crystals.

We realize the factorization of soft and hard dynamics in the transversal plane of an exclusive QCD process by introducing the intrinsic transversal momentum distributions (iTMDs). We ingeniously study the $\pi$ and $K$ electromagnetic form factors by matching the next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD calculation to the precise measurements or data-driven result from the modular dispersion relation, obtain the transversal-size parameter $\beta_\pi^2 = 0.51 \pm 0.04$ GeV$^{-1}$ and $\beta_K^2 = 0.30 \pm 0.05$ GeV$^2$ for the lowest Fock states. With this result, we extract the chiral mass of pion meson as $m_0^\pi(1 \, {\rm GeV}) = 1.84 \pm 0.07$ GeV and explain the precise measurements of kaon form factor in the perturbative timelike region. Fake news on social media platforms poses a significant threat to societal systems, underscoring the urgent need for advanced detection methods. The existing detection methods can be divided into machine intelligence-based, crowd intelligence-based, and hybrid intelligence-based methods. Among them, hybrid intelligence-based methods achieve the best performance but fail to consider the reliability issue in detection. In light of this, we propose a novel Reliability Aware Hybrid Intelligence (RAHI) method for fake news detection. Our method comprises three integral modules. The first module employs a Bayesian deep learning model to capture the inherent reliability within machine intelligence. The second module uses an Item Response Theory (IRT)-based user response aggregation to account for the reliability in crowd intelligence. The third module introduces a new distribution fusion mechanism, which takes the distributions derived from both machine and crowd intelligence as input, and outputs a fused distribution that provides predictions along with the associated reliability. The experiments on the Weibo dataset demonstrate the advantages of our method. This study contributes to the research field with a novel RAHI-based method, and the code is shared at https://github.com/Kangwei-g/RAHI. Crowdsourcing provides a flexible approach for leveraging human intelligence to solve large-scale problems, gaining widespread acceptance in domains like intelligent information processing, social decision-making, and crowd ideation. However, the uncertainty of participants significantly compromises the answer quality, sparking substantial research interest. Existing surveys predominantly concentrate on quality control in Boolean tasks, which are generally formulated as simple label classification, ranking, or numerical prediction. Ubiquitous open-ended tasks like question-answering, translation, and semantic segmentation have not been sufficiently discussed. These tasks usually have large to infinite answer spaces and non-unique acceptable answers, posing significant challenges for quality assurance. This survey focuses on quality control methods applicable to open-ended tasks in crowdsourcing. We propose a two-tiered framework to categorize related works. The first tier introduces a holistic view of the quality model, encompassing key aspects like task, worker, answer, and system. The second tier refines the classification into more detailed categories, including quality dimensions, evaluation metrics, and design decisions, providing insights into the internal structures of the quality control framework in each aspect. We study learning problems on correlated stochastic block models with two balanced communities. Our main result gives the first efficient algorithm for graph matching in this setting. In the most interesting regime where the average degree is logarithmic in the number of vertices, this algorithm correctly matches all but a vanishing fraction of vertices with high probability, whenever the edge correlation parameter $s$ satisfies $s^2 > \alpha \approx 0.338$, where $\alpha$ is Otter's tree-counting constant. Moreover, we extend this to an efficient algorithm for exact graph matching whenever this is information-theoretically possible, positively resolving an open problem of R\'acz and Sridhar (NeurIPS 2021). Our algorithm generalizes the recent breakthrough work of Mao, Wu, Xu, and Yu (STOC 2023), which is based on centered subgraph counts of a large family of trees termed chandeliers. A major technical challenge that we overcome is dealing with the additional estimation errors that are necessarily present due to the fact that, in relevant parameter regimes, the latent community partition cannot be exactly recovered from a single graph. Scholarly peer review is a cornerstone of scientific advancement, but the system is under strain due to increasing manuscript submissions and the labor-intensive nature of the process. Recent advancements in large language models (LLMs) have led to their integration into peer review, with promising results such as substantial overlaps between LLM- and human-generated reviews. However, the unchecked adoption of LLMs poses significant risks to the integrity of the peer review system. In this study, we comprehensively analyze the vulnerabilities of LLM-generated reviews by focusing on manipulation and inherent flaws. Our experiments show that injecting covert deliberate content into manuscripts allows authors to explicitly manipulate LLM reviews, leading to inflated ratings and reduced alignment with human reviews. In a simulation, we find that manipulating 5% of the reviews could potentially cause 12% of the papers to lose their position in the top 30% rankings. Implicit manipulation, where authors strategically highlight minor limitations in their papers, further demonstrates LLMs' susceptibility compared to human reviewers, with a 4.5 times higher consistency with disclosed limitations. Additionally, LLMs exhibit inherent flaws, such as potentially assigning higher ratings to incomplete papers compared to full papers and favoring well-known authors in single-blind review process. In the ferrimagnetic semiconductor Mn$_3$Si$_2$Te$_6$, a colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) is observed only when a magnetic field is applied along the magnetic hard axis ($\mathbf{H}\parallel c$). This phenomenon suggests an unconventional CMR mechanism potentially driven by the interplay between magnetism, topological band structure, and/or chiral orbital currents (COC). By comparing electrical resistance measurements using continuous direct currents and pulse currents, we found that the current-induced insulator-metal transition, supporting the COC-driven CMR mechanism, is likely a consequence of Joule heating effects. Additionally, multiple magnetic field-induced metamagnetic transitions were identified through AC magnetostriction coefficient experiments, but only when $\mathbf{H}\parallel c$. Importantly, the transition at $\sim$ 5 T marks the boundary between the low-field CMR and high-field weak MR. These findings suggest that field-induced metamagnetic transition combined with partial polarization of magnetic moments are the primary causes of the band gap closure, leading to the observed CMR in Mn$_3$Si$_2$Te$_6$., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures

Two-dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes) have gained popularity in fields such as energy storage, catalysis, and electromagnetic interference due to their diverse elemental compositions and variable surface terminations (T). Generally, the synthesis of MXene materials involves etching the weak M-A metallic bonds in the ternary layered transition metal carbides and nitrides (MAX phase) using HF acid or Lewis acid molten salts, while the strong M-X covalent bonds preserve the two-dimensional framework structure of MXenes. On the other hand, the MAX phase material family also includes a significant class of members where the A site is occupied by non-metal main group elements (such as sulfur and phosphorus), in which both M-A and M-X are covalent bond-type sublayers. The aforementioned etching methods cannot be used to synthesize MXene materials from these parent phases. In this work, we discovered that the covalent bond-type M-A and M-X sublayers exhibit different reactivity with some inorganic materials in a high-temperature molten state. By utilizing this difference in reactivity, we can structurally modify these covalent sublayers, allowing for the substitution of elements at the X site (from B to Se, S, P, C) and converting non-metal A site atoms in non-van der Waals (non-vdW) MAX phases into surface atoms in vdW layered materials. This results in a family of early transition metal Xide chalcogenides (TMXCs) that exhibit lattice characteristics of both MXenes and transition metal chalcogenides. Using electron-donor chemical scissors, these TMXC layered materials can be further exfoliated into monolayer nanosheets. The atomic configurations of each atom in these monolayer TMXCs are the same as those of conventional MXenes, but the oxidation states of the M-site atoms can be regulated by both X-site atoms and intercalated cations.

Fine-tuning pre-trained models has become invaluable in computer vision and robotics. Recent fine-tuning approaches focus on improving efficiency rather than accuracy by using a mixture of smaller learning rates or frozen backbones. To return the spotlight to model accuracy, we present PROFIT (Proximally Restricted Optimizer For Iterative Training), one of the first optimizers specifically designed for incrementally fine-tuning converged models on new tasks or datasets. Unlike traditional optimizers such as SGD or Adam, which make minimal assumptions due to random initialization, PROFIT leverages the structure of a converged model to regularize the optimization process, leading to improved results. By employing a simple temporal gradient orthogonalization process, PROFIT outperforms traditional fine-tuning methods across various tasks: image classification, representation learning, and large-scale motion prediction. Moreover, PROFIT is encapsulated within the optimizer logic, making it easily integrated into any training pipeline with minimal engineering effort. Generative Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) like LLaVA and Qwen-VL excel at a wide variety of vision-language (VL) tasks such as image captioning or visual question answering. Despite strong performance, LMMs are not directly suited for foundational discriminative vision-language tasks (i.e., tasks requiring discrete label predictions) such as image classification and multiple-choice VQA. One key challenge in utilizing LMMs for discriminative tasks is the extraction of useful features from generative models. To overcome this issue, we propose an approach for finding features in the model's latent space to more effectively leverage LMMs for discriminative tasks. Toward this end, we present Sparse Attention Vectors (SAVs) -- a finetuning-free method that leverages sparse attention head activations (fewer than 1\% of the heads) in LMMs as strong features for VL tasks. With only few-shot examples, SAVs demonstrate state-of-the-art performance compared to a variety of few-shot and finetuned baselines on a collection of discriminative tasks. Our experiments also imply that SAVs can scale in performance with additional examples and generalize to similar tasks, establishing SAVs as both effective and robust multimodal feature representations.

Recent privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) grant data subjects the `Right to Be Forgotten' (RTBF) and mandate companies to fulfill data erasure requests from data subjects. However, companies encounter great challenges in complying with the RTBF regulations, particularly when asked to erase specific training data from their well-trained predictive models. While researchers have introduced machine unlearning methods aimed at fast data erasure, these approaches often overlook maintaining model performance (e.g., accuracy), which can lead to financial losses and non-compliance with RTBF obligations. This work develops a holistic machine learning-to-unlearning framework, called Ensemble-based iTerative Information Distillation (ETID), to achieve efficient data erasure while preserving the business value of predictive models. ETID incorporates a new ensemble learning method to build an accurate predictive model that can facilitate handling data erasure requests. ETID also introduces an innovative distillation-based unlearning method tailored to the constructed ensemble model to enable efficient and effective data erasure. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ETID outperforms various state-of-the-art methods and can deliver high-quality unlearned models with efficiency. We also highlight ETID's potential as a crucial tool for fostering a legitimate and thriving market for data and predictive services.

Fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are one of the most commonly used platforms for the burgeoning Low-altitude Economy (LAE) and Urban Air Mobility (UAM), due to their long endurance and high-speed capabilities. Classical obstacle avoidance systems, which rely on prior maps or sophisticated sensors, face limitations in unknown low-altitude environments and small UAV platforms. In response, this paper proposes a lightweight deep reinforcement learning (DRL) based UAV collision avoidance system that enables a fixed-wing UAV to avoid unknown obstacles at cruise speed over 30m/s, with only onboard visual sensors. The proposed system employs a single-frame image depth inference module with a streamlined network architecture to ensure real-time obstacle detection, optimized for edge computing devices. After that, a reinforcement learning controller with a novel reward function is designed to balance the target approach and flight trajectory smoothness, satisfying the specific dynamic constraints and stability requirements of a fixed-wing UAV platform. An adaptive entropy adjustment mechanism is introduced to mitigate the exploration-exploitation trade-off inherent in DRL, improving training convergence and obstacle avoidance success rates. Extensive software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop experiments demonstrate that the proposed framework outperforms other methods in obstacle avoidance efficiency and flight trajectory smoothness and confirm the feasibility of implementing the algorithm on edge devices. We present a novel neural algorithm for performing high-quality, high-resolution, real-time novel view synthesis. From a sparse set of input RGB images or videos streams, our network both reconstructs the 3D scene and renders novel views at 1080p resolution at 30fps on an NVIDIA A100. Our feed-forward network generalizes across a wide variety of datasets and scenes and produces state-of-the-art quality for a real-time method. Our quality approaches, and in some cases surpasses, the quality of some of the top offline methods. In order to achieve these results we use a novel combination of several key concepts, and tie them together into a cohesive and effective algorithm. We build on previous works that represent the scene using semi-transparent layers and use an iterative learned render-and-refine approach to improve those layers. Instead of flat layers, our method reconstructs layered depth maps (LDMs) that efficiently represent scenes with complex depth and occlusions. The iterative update steps are embedded in a multi-scale, UNet-style architecture to perform as much compute as possible at reduced resolution. Within each update step, to better aggregate the information from multiple input views, we use a specialized Transformer-based network component. This allows the majority of the per-input image processing to be performed in the input image space, as opposed to layer space, further increasing efficiency. Finally, due to the real-time nature of our reconstruction and rendering, we dynamically create and discard the internal 3D geometry for each frame, generating the LDM for each view. Taken together, this produces a novel and effective algorithm for view synthesis. Through extensive evaluation, we demonstrate that we achieve state-of-the-art quality at real-time rates. The process $e^+e^-\to K^0_S K^0_S \psi(3686)$ is studied by analyzing $e^+e^-$ collision data samples collected at eight center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.682 to 4.951 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $4.1~{\rm fb}^{-1}$. Observation of the $e^+e^-\to K^0_S K^0_S \psi(3686)$ process is found for the first time with a statistical significance of $6.3\sigma$, and the cross sections at each center-of-mass energy are measured. The ratio of cross sections of $e^+e^-\to K_S^0 K_S^0 \psi(3686)$ relative to $e^+e^-\to K^+ K^- \psi(3686)$ is determined to be $\frac{\sigma(e^+e^-\to K_S^0 K_S^0 \psi(3686))}{\sigma(e^+e^-\to K^+ K^- \psi(3686))}=0.45 \pm 0.25$, which is consistent with the prediction based on isospin symmetry. The uncertainty includes both statistical and systematic contributions. Additionally, the $K_S^0\psi(3686)$ invariant mass distribution is found to be consistent with three-body phase space. The significance of a contribution beyond three-body phase space is only $0.8\sigma$.

We model a spin-phase transition in a two-dimensional square array, or a lateral superlattice, of quantum rings in an external perpendicular homogeneous magnetic field. The electron system is placed in a circular cylindrical far-infrared photon cavity with a single circularly symmetric photon mode. Our numerical results reveal that the spin ordering of the two-dimensional electron gas in each quantum ring can be influenced or controlled by the electron-photon coupling strength and the energy of the photons. The Coulomb interaction between the electrons is described by a spin-density functional approach, but the para- and the diamagnetic electron-photon interactions are modeled via a configuration interaction formalism in a truncated many-body Fock-space, which is updated in each iteration step of the density functional approach. In the absence of external electromagnetic pulses this spin-phase transition is replicated in the orbital magnetization of the rings. The spin-phase transition can be suppressed by a strong electron-photon interaction. The Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM 2) has demonstrated strong performance in object segmentation tasks but faces challenges in visual object tracking, particularly when managing crowded scenes with fast-moving or self-occluding objects. Furthermore, the fixed-window memory approach in the original model does not consider the quality of memories selected to condition the image features for the next frame, leading to error propagation in videos. This paper introduces SAMURAI, an enhanced adaptation of SAM 2 specifically designed for visual object tracking. By incorporating temporal motion cues with the proposed motion-aware memory selection mechanism, SAMURAI effectively predicts object motion and refines mask selection, achieving robust, accurate tracking without the need for retraining or fine-tuning. SAMURAI operates in real-time and demonstrates strong zero-shot performance across diverse benchmark datasets, showcasing its ability to generalize without fine-tuning. In evaluations, SAMURAI achieves significant improvements in success rate and precision over existing trackers, with a 7.1% AUC gain on LaSOT$_{\text{ext}}$ and a 3.5% AO gain on GOT-10k. Using $e^+e^-$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.13 to 4.70 GeV, we report the first evidence for a new excited $\Omega^{-}$ hyperon, the $\Omega^*(2109)^{-}$, through the process $e^+ e^- \to \Omega^*(2109)^{-} \bar{\Omega}^{+} +c.c.$ with a significance of 3.7 $\sigma$. The mass and width of $\Omega^*(2109)^{-}$ are measured to be $2108.8 \pm 5.5_{\rm stat} \pm 1.5_{\rm syst} {\rm MeV}/c^{2}$ and $21.6 \pm 17.7_{\rm stat} \pm 9.4_{\rm syst} {\rm MeV}$, respectively. Causal effect estimation (CEE) provides a crucial tool for predicting the unobserved counterfactual outcome for an entity. As CEE relaxes the requirement for ``perfect'' counterfactual samples (e.g., patients with identical attributes and only differ in treatments received) that are impractical to obtain and can instead operate on observational data, it is usually used in high-stake domains like medical treatment effect prediction. Nevertheless, in those high-stake domains, gathering a decently sized, fully labelled observational dataset remains challenging due to hurdles associated with costs, ethics, expertise and time needed, etc., of which medical treatment surveys are a typical example. Consequently, if the training dataset is small in scale, low generalization risks can hardly be achieved on any CEE algorithms. Unlike existing CEE methods that assume the constant availability of a dataset with abundant samples, in this paper, we study a more realistic CEE setting where the labelled data samples are scarce at the beginning, while more can be gradually acquired over the course of training -- assuredly under a limited budget considering their expensive nature. Then, the problem naturally comes down to actively selecting the best possible samples to be labelled, e.g., identifying the next subset of patients to conduct the treatment survey. However, acquiring quality data for reducing the CEE risk under limited labelling budgets remains under-explored until now. To fill the gap, we theoretically analyse the generalization risk from an intriguing perspective of progressively shrinking its upper bound, and develop a principled label acquisition pipeline exclusively for CEE tasks. The main idea is to revisit three paintings of different styles and historical periods: ''Narciso'', painted circa 1597-1599 by Michelangelo Merisi (Caravaggio), ''Les fils de l'homme'', painted in 1964 by Rene Magritte and ''192 Farben'', painted in 1966 by Gerard Richter. We utilize the output of a quantum computation to change the composition in the paintings, leading to a paintings series titled ''Quantum Transformation I, II, III''. In particular, the figures are discretized into square lattices and the order of the pieces is changed according to the result of the quantum simulation. We consider an Ising Hamiltonian as the observable in the quantum computation and its time evolution as the final outcome. From a classical subject to abstract forms, we seek to combine classical and quantum aesthetics through these three art pieces. Besides experimenting with hardware runs and circuit noise, our goal is to reproduce these works as physical oil paintings on wooden panels. We investigate the effect of top Al2O3 interlayer thickness on the memory window (MW) of Si channel ferroelectric field-effect transistors (Si-FeFETs) with TiN/Al$_2$O$_3$/Hf$_{0.5}$Zr$_{0.5}$O$_2$/SiO$_x$/Si (MIFIS) gate structure. We find that the MW first increases and then remains almost constant with the increasing thickness of the top Al2O3. The phenomenon is attributed to the lower electric field of the ferroelectric Hf$_{0.5}$Zr$_{0.5}$O$_2$ in the MIFIS structure with a thicker top Al2O3 after a program operation. The lower electric field makes the charges trapped at the top Al2O3/Hf0.5Zr0.5O$_2$ interface, which are injected from the metal gate, cannot be retained. Furthermore, we study the effect of the top Al$_2$O$_3$ interlayer thickness on the reliability (endurance characteristics and retention characteristics). We find that the MIFIS structure with a thicker top Al$_2$O$_3$ interlayer has poorer retention and endurance characteristics. Using 7.93 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 ${\rm GeV}$ with the BESIII detector, we present an analysis of the decay $D^{0} \to \eta \pi^- e^+ \nu_{e}$. The branching fraction of the decay $D^{0} \to a_{0}(980)^{-} e^+ \nu_{e}$ with $a_{0}(980)^{-} \to \eta \pi^{-}$ is measured to be $(0.86\pm0.17_{\text{stat}}\pm0.05_{\text{syst}})\times 10^{-4}$. The decay dynamics of this process is studied with a single-pole parameterization of the hadronic form factor and the Flatt\'e formula describing the $a_0(980)$ line shape in the differential decay rate. The product of the form factor $f^{ a_0}_{+}(0)$ and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cd}|$ is determined for the first time with the result $f^{ a_0}_+(0)|V_{cd}|=0.126\pm0.013_{\rm stat}\pm0.003_{\rm syst}$.

In this paper, a new framework for the resilient control of continuous-time linear systems under denial-of-service (DoS) attacks and system uncertainty is presented. Integrating techniques from reinforcement learning and output regulation theory, it is shown that resilient optimal controllers can be learned directly from real-time state and input data collected from the systems subjected to attacks. Sufficient conditions are given under which the closed-loop system remains stable given any upper bound of DoS attack duration. Simulation results are used to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed learning-based framework for resilient control under DoS attacks and model uncertainty.

Large language models (LLMs) for code have become indispensable in various domains, including code generation, reasoning tasks and agent systems. While open-access code LLMs are increasingly approaching the performance levels of proprietary models, high-quality code LLMs suitable for rigorous scientific investigation, particularly those with reproducible data processing pipelines and transparent training protocols, remain limited. The scarcity is due to various challenges, including resource constraints, ethical considerations, and the competitive advantages of keeping models advanced. To address the gap, we introduce OpenCoder, a top-tier code LLM that not only achieves performance comparable to leading models but also serves as an "open cookbook" for the research community. Unlike most prior efforts, we release not only model weights and inference code, but also the reproducible training data, complete data processing pipeline, rigorous experimental ablation results, and detailed training protocols for open scientific research. Through this comprehensive release, we identify the key ingredients for building a top-tier code LLM: (1) code optimized heuristic rules for data cleaning and methods for data deduplication, (2) recall of text corpus related to code and (3) high-quality synthetic data in both annealing and supervised fine-tuning stages. By offering this level of openness, we aim to broaden access to all aspects of a top-tier code LLM, with OpenCoder serving as both a powerful model and an open foundation to accelerate research, and enable reproducible advancements in code AI.

Different from the previous treatment in a two-body framework, we introduce the dimeson distribution amplitudes (DAs) to describe the strong dynamics between the S-wave resonances $a_0(980, 1450)$ and the $K\bar K (\pi\eta)$ pair, where the Gegenbauer coefficient required is determined from the experimental data on the time-like form factors involved. The branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries of the decays $B \to a^{(\prime)}_0 h \to K\bar K(\pi\eta) h$, with $a_0=a_0(980)$, $a^{\prime}_0=a_0(1450)$ and $h$ referring to a pion or a kaon, are then calculated in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach. We find that the branching ratios of the corresponding quasi-two-body decays $B\to a^{(\prime)}_0 K$ obtained with the narrow width approximation are closer to those predicted in the QCD factorization (QCDF) approach compared to the previous PQCD calculations, no matter a three-body or a two-body framework is assumed. Furthermore, all our predictions for these $B\to a^{(\prime)}_0 K$ decays are below the current experimental upper limits except for those of decays $B^0\to a^{(\prime)-}_0K^+$, which are (slightly) larger than the upper limits. Under the narrow width approximation, the branching ratios of the decays $B^+\to a^{(\prime)+}_0\pi^0$, $B^0\to a^{(\prime)+}_0\pi^-$ and $B^0\to a^{(\prime)0}_0\pi^0$ are comparable to or agree well with the previous PQCD and the QCDF calculations. While for the decays $B^+\to a^{(\prime)0}_0\pi^+$ and $B^0\to a^{(\prime)-}_0\pi^+$, their branching ratios are predicted to be unexpectedly large, for example, the obtained branching ratio of decay $B^+\to a^0_0\pi^+$ is even higher than the current experimental upper limit., Comment: 22 pages, 2 figures

Efficient exploration is crucial in cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL), especially in sparse-reward settings. However, due to the reliance on the unimodal policy, existing methods are prone to falling into the local optima, hindering the effective exploration of better policies. Furthermore, in sparse-reward settings, each agent tends to receive a scarce reward, which poses significant challenges to inter-agent cooperation. This not only increases the difficulty of policy learning but also degrades the overall performance of multi-agent tasks. To address these issues, we propose a Consistency Policy with Intention Guidance (CPIG), with two primary components: (a) introducing a multimodal policy to enhance the agent's exploration capability, and (b) sharing the intention among agents to foster agent cooperation. For component (a), CPIG incorporates a Consistency model as the policy, leveraging its multimodal nature and stochastic characteristics to facilitate exploration. Regarding component (b), we introduce an Intention Learner to deduce the intention on the global state from each agent's local observation. This intention then serves as a guidance for the Consistency Policy, promoting cooperation among agents. The proposed method is evaluated in multi-agent particle environments (MPE) and multi-agent MuJoCo (MAMuJoCo). Empirical results demonstrate that our method not only achieves comparable performance to various baselines in dense-reward environments but also significantly enhances performance in sparse-reward settings, outperforming state-of-the-art (SOTA) algorithms by 20%.

Field work is an essential component not just for organismal biology, but also for the expanding umbrella of disciplines which have turned their attention towards living systems. Observing organisms in naturalistic contexts is a critical component of discovery; however, conducting field research can be a massive barrier for scientists who do not have experience working with organisms in a naturalistic context under challenging field conditions. Here we propose 8 critical steps for organizing and executing interdisciplinary curiosity-driven field research, drawing on the insights from The in Situ Jungle Biomechanics Lab (JBL). The JBL program is a field research course that helps early-career scientists gain experience in organizing and conducting interdisciplinary field research. JBL uses a curiosity-driven approach to field science education by encouraging early-career researchers to explore scientific questions in the Peruvian Amazon with a non-prescriptive approach to research output. We achieve an inclusive research space by bringing scientists from across disciplines together, with local communities to collaborate and spark new questions and ideas. To stoke curiosity, the JBL imparts a naturalist tradition set forth by organismal biologists of the 20th century who have extolled the merits of observing the natural world as a form of scientific exploration.

This paper studies privacy-preserving resilient vector consensus in multi-agent systems against faulty agents, where normal agents can achieve consensus within the convex hull of their initial states while protecting state vectors from being disclosed. Specifically, we consider a modification of an existing algorithm known as Approximate Distributed Robust Convergence Using Centerpoints (ADRC), i.e., Privacy-Preserving ADRC (PP-ADRC). Under PP-ADRC, each normal agent introduces multivariate Gaussian noise to its state during each iteration. We first provide sufficient conditions to ensure that all normal agents' states can achieve mean square convergence under PP-ADRC. Then, we analyze convergence accuracy from two perspectives, i.e., the Mahalanobis distance of the final value from its expectation and the Hausdorff distance based alteration of the convex hull caused by noise when only partial dimensions are added with noise. Then, we employ concentrated geo-privacy to characterize privacy preservation and conduct a thorough comparison with differential privacy. Finally, numerical simulations demonstrate the theoretical results.

Code large language models (LLMs) have made significant progress in code debugging by directly generating the correct code based on the buggy code snippet. Programming benchmarks, typically consisting of buggy code snippet and their associated test cases, are used to assess the debugging capabilities of LLMs. However, many existing benchmarks primarily focus on Python and are often limited in terms of language diversity (e.g., DebugBench and DebugEval). To advance the field of multilingual debugging with LLMs, we propose the first massively multilingual debugging benchmark, which includes 3.6K test samples of 18 programming languages and covers the automated program repair (APR) task, the code review (CR) task, and the bug identification (BI) task. Further, we introduce the debugging instruction corpora MDEVAL-INSTRUCT by injecting bugs into the correct multilingual queries and solutions (xDebugGen). Further, a multilingual debugger xDebugCoder trained on MDEVAL-INSTRUCT as a strong baseline specifically to handle the bugs of a wide range of programming languages (e.g. "Missing Mut" in language Rust and "Misused Macro Definition" in language C). Our extensive experiments on MDEVAL reveal a notable performance gap between open-source models and closed-source LLMs (e.g., GPT and Claude series), highlighting huge room for improvement in multilingual code debugging scenarios., Comment: 15 pages

This study aimed to investigate the effects of genetic polymorphisms on tacrolimus blood levels and intra-individual variability in recipients of heart transplants during the early post-transplantation period. Demographic information, concomitant medications, daily tacrolimus dose, trough concentration, and physiological and biochemical information of 87 Chinese recipients of heart transplants were collected. Trough concentrations were determined using a chemiluminescent micro-particle immunoassay, and 17 selected single nucleic acid polymorphisms were genotyped by direct sequencing. We assessed intra-individual variability by calculating the coefficient of variation of tacrolimus trough concentration and analyzed factors associated with tacrolimus concentration and intra-individual variability. Our study found that low body weight and a high percentage of neutrophils significantly influenced the coefficient of variation of tacrolimus. CYP3A5*1D and CYP3A7 rs776744 haplotypes correlated significantly with an intra-individual coefficient of variation of tacrolimus trough concentration during the early postoperative period. Patients with the CYP3A5*1D rs15524 and CYP3A7 rs776744 TT haplotype had a higher coefficient of variation than carriers of the C allele. Genetic polymorphisms in recipients of heart transplants affect tacrolimus metabolism, significantly affecting tacrolimus blood concentration during the early postoperative period. Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) are widely used in Graph Anomaly Detection (GAD) due to their natural compatibility with graph structures, resulting in significant performance improvements. However, most researchers approach GAD as a graph node classification task and often rely on low-pass filters or feature aggregation from neighboring nodes. This paper proposes a novel approach by introducing a High-Pass Graph Convolution Network (HP-GCN) for GAD. The proposed HP-GCN leverages high-frequency components to detect anomalies, as anomalies tend to increase high-frequency signals within the network of normal nodes. Additionally, isolated nodes, which lack interactions with other nodes, present a challenge for Graph Neural Network (GNN). To address this, the model segments the graph into isolated nodes and nodes within connected subgraphs. Isolated nodes learn their features through Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), enhancing detection accuracy. The model is evaluated and validated on YelpChi, Amazon, T-Finance, and T-Social datasets. The results showed that the proposed HP-GCN can achieve anomaly detection accuracy of 96.10%, 98.16%, 96.46%, and 98.94%, respectively. The findings demonstrate that the HP-GCN outperforms existing GAD methods based on spatial domain GNN as well as those using low-pass and band-pass filters in spectral domain GCN. In real-world scenarios, it is desirable for embodied agents to have the ability to leverage human language to gain explicit or implicit knowledge for learning tasks. Despite recent progress, most previous approaches adopt simple low-level instructions as language inputs, which may not reflect natural human communication. It's not clear how to incorporate rich language use to facilitate task learning. To address this question, this paper studies different types of language inputs in facilitating reinforcement learning (RL) embodied agents. More specifically, we examine how different levels of language informativeness (i.e., feedback on past behaviors and future guidance) and diversity (i.e., variation of language expressions) impact agent learning and inference. Our empirical results based on four RL benchmarks demonstrate that agents trained with diverse and informative language feedback can achieve enhanced generalization and fast adaptation to new tasks. These findings highlight the pivotal role of language use in teaching embodied agents new tasks in an open world. Single-photon detection is an energy quantum limit detection (EQLD) of a significantly weak electromagnetic wave. Given the sensitivity of the conventional electromagnetic induction microwave receiver working at room-temperature is very limited, due to the significantly strong thermal noise, here we analyze the possibility of approaching the EQLD of the weak microwave signal by using a current-biased Josephson Junction (CBJJ) detector. By numerically simulating the dynamics for the phase particle of the CBJJ, we propose an approach to describe the discriminability between the probabilistically escaped events of the phase particle with and without the microwave current driving, by measuring the minimum $d_{\rm KC}$-index. We predicate that, the experimentally demonstrated CBJJ detectors possess the ability to resolve about a dozen photons. We study a flaring activity of the HSP Mrk421 that was characterized from radio to very-high-energy (VHE; E $>0.1$TeV) gamma rays with MAGIC, Fermi-LAT, Swift, XMM-Newton and several optical and radio telescopes. These observations included, for the first time for a gamma-ray flare of a blazar, simultaneous X-ray polarization measurements with IXPE. We find substantial variability in both X-rays and VHE gamma rays throughout the campaign, with the highest VHE flux above 0.2 TeV occurring during the IXPE observing window, and exceeding twice the flux of the Crab Nebula. However, the VHE and X-ray spectra are on average softer, and the correlation between these two bands weaker that those reported in previous flares of Mrk421. IXPE reveals an X-ray polarization degree significantly higher than that at radio and optical frequencies. The X-ray polarization angle varies by $\sim$100$^\circ$ on timescales of days, and the polarization degree changes by more than a factor 4. The highest X-ray polarization degree reaches 26%, around which a X-ray counter-clockwise hysteresis loop is measured with XMM-Newton. It suggests that the X-ray emission comes from particles close to the high-energy cutoff, hence possibly probing an extreme case of the Turbulent Extreme Multi-Zone model. We model the broadband emission with a simplified stratified jet model throughout the flare. The polarization measurements imply an electron distribution in the X-ray emitting region with a very high minimum Lorentz factor, which is expected in electron-ion plasma, as well as a variation of the emitting region size up to a factor of three during the flaring activity. We find no correlation between the fluxes and the evolution of the model parameters, which indicates a stochastic nature of the underlying physical mechanism. OT 081 is a well-known, luminous blazar that is remarkably variable in many energy bands. We present the first broadband study of the source which includes very-high-energy (VHE, $E>$100\,GeV) $\gamma$-ray data taken by the MAGIC and H.E.S.S. imaging Cherenkov telescopes. The discovery of VHE $\gamma$-ray emission happened during a high state of $\gamma$-ray activity in July 2016, observed by many instruments from radio to VHE $\gamma$-rays. We identify four states of activity of the source, one of which includes VHE $\gamma$-ray emission. Variability in the VHE domain is found on daily timescales. The intrinsic VHE spectrum can be described by a power-law with index $3.27\pm0.44_{\rm stat}\pm0.15_{\rm sys}$ (MAGIC) and $3.39\pm0.58_{\rm stat}\pm0.64_{\rm sys}$ (H.E.S.S.) in the energy range of 55--300\,GeV and 120--500\,GeV, respectively. The broadband emission cannot be sucessfully reproduced by a simple one-zone synchrotron self-Compton model. Instead, an additional external Compton component is required. We test a lepto-hadronic model that reproduces the dataset well and a proton-synchrotron dominated model that requires an extreme proton luminosity. Emission models that are able to successfully represent the data place the emitting region well outside of the Broad Line Region (BLR) to a location at which the radiative environment is dominated by the infrared thermal radiation field of the dusty torus. In the scenario described by this flaring activity, the source appears to be an FSRQ, in contrast with past categorizations. Industrial recommendation systems (RS) rely on the multi-stage pipeline to balance effectiveness and efficiency when delivering items from a vast corpus to users. Existing RS benchmark datasets primarily focus on the exposure space, where novel RS algorithms are trained and evaluated. However, when these algorithms transition to real world industrial RS, they face a critical challenge of handling unexposed items which are a significantly larger space than the exposed one. This discrepancy profoundly impacts their practical performance. Additionally, these algorithms often overlook the intricate interplay between multiple RS stages, resulting in suboptimal overall system performance. To address this issue, we introduce RecFlow, an industrial full flow recommendation dataset designed to bridge the gap between offline RS benchmarks and the real online environment. Unlike existing datasets, RecFlow includes samples not only from the exposure space but also unexposed items filtered at each stage of the RS funnel. Our dataset comprises 38M interactions from 42K users across nearly 9M items with additional 1.9B stage samples collected from 9.3M online requests over 37 days and spanning 6 stages. Leveraging the RecFlow dataset, we conduct courageous exploration experiments, showcasing its potential in designing new algorithms to enhance effectiveness by incorporating stage-specific samples. Some of these algorithms have already been deployed online, consistently yielding significant gains. We propose RecFlow as the first comprehensive benchmark dataset for the RS community, supporting research on designing algorithms at any stage, study of selection bias, debiased algorithms, multi-stage consistency and optimality, multi-task recommendation, and user behavior modeling. Repository-level code completion has drawn great attention in software engineering, and several benchmark datasets have been introduced. However, existing repository-level code completion benchmarks usually focus on a limited number of languages (<5), which cannot evaluate the general code intelligence abilities across different languages for existing code Large Language Models (LLMs). Besides, the existing benchmarks usually report overall average scores of different languages, where the fine-grained abilities in different completion scenarios are ignored. Therefore, to facilitate the research of code LLMs in multilingual scenarios, we propose a massively multilingual repository-level code completion benchmark covering 18 programming languages (called M2RC-EVAL), and two types of fine-grained annotations (i.e., bucket-level and semantic-level) on different completion scenarios are provided, where we obtain these annotations based on the parsed abstract syntax tree. Moreover, we also curate a massively multilingual instruction corpora M2RC- INSTRUCT dataset to improve the repository-level code completion abilities of existing code LLMs. Comprehensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our M2RC-EVAL and M2RC-INSTRUCT., Comment: 19 pages

The accurate diagnosis of machine breakdowns is crucial for maintaining operational safety in smart manufacturing. Despite the promise shown by deep learning in automating fault identification, the scarcity of labeled training data, particularly for equipment failure instances, poses a significant challenge. This limitation hampers the development of robust classification models. Existing methods like model-agnostic meta-learning (MAML) do not adequately address variable working conditions, affecting knowledge transfer. To address these challenges, a Related Task Aware Curriculum Meta-learning (RT-ACM) enhanced fault diagnosis framework is proposed in this paper, inspired by human cognitive learning processes. RT-ACM improves training by considering the relevance of auxiliary sensor working conditions, adhering to the principle of ``paying more attention to more relevant knowledge", and focusing on ``easier first, harder later" curriculum sampling. This approach aids the meta-learner in achieving a superior convergence state. Extensive experiments on two real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of RT-ACM framework.

By analyzing $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data with an integrated luminosity of 7.9~fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV, the branching fraction of $D^+\to\tau^+\nu_{\tau}$ is determined as $\mathcal{B}=(9.9\pm 1.1_\mathrm{stat}\pm 0.5_\mathrm{syst})\times10^{-4}$. Taking the most precise result $\mathcal{B}(D^+\to\mu^+\nu_{\mu})=(3.981\pm 0.079_\mathrm{stat}\pm0.040_\mathrm{syst})\times10^{-4}$, we determine $R_{\tau/\mu} = \Gamma(D^+\to\tau^+\nu_{\tau})/\Gamma(D^+\to\mu^+\nu_{\mu})= 2.49\pm0.31$, achieving a factor of two improvement in precision compared to the previous BESIII result. This measurement is in agreement with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality within one standard deviation.

Using $(27.12\pm0.14) \times 10^{8}$ $\psi(2S)$ events collected by the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII, we search for the decay $\eta_c(2S)\to p\bar{p}$ via the process $\psi(2S)\to \gamma\eta_c(2S)$, and only find a signal with a significance of $1.7\,\sigma$. The upper limit of the product branching fraction at the 90% confidence level is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(\psi(2S)\to \gamma\eta_c(2S))\times \mathcal{B}(\eta_c(2S)\to p\bar{p})<2.4\times 10^{-7}$. The branching fractions of $\chi_{cJ}\to p\bar{p}~(J=0,1,2)$ are also measured to be $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c0}\to p\bar{p})=(2.51\pm0.02\pm0.08)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c1}\to p\bar{p})=(8.16\pm0.09\pm0.25)\times 10^{-4}$, and $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c2}\to p\bar{p})=(8.33\pm0.09\pm0.22)\times 10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Two-dimensional (2D) magnetic semiconductors are a key focus in developing next-generation information storage technologies. MXenes, as emerging 2D early transition metal carbides and nitrides, offer versatile compositions and tunable chemical structures. Incorporating lanthanide metals, with their unique role of 4f-electrons in engineering physical properties, into MXenes holds potential for advancing technological applications. However, the scarcity of lanthanide-containing ternary MAX phase precursors and the propensity of lanthanides to oxidize pose significant challenges to obtain lanthanide MXenes (Ln2CT2) via the top-down etching method. Here, we propose a general bottom-up methodology for lanthanide MXenes, that derive from carbon intercalated van der Waals building blocks of 2D halides. Compared to conventional MXenes conductors, the synthesized Ln2CT2 exhibit tunable band gaps spanning 0.32 eV to 1.22 eV that cover typical semiconductors such as Si (1.12 eV) and Ge (0.67 eV). Additionally, the presence of unpaired f-electrons endows Ln2CT2 with intrinsic ferromagnetism, with Curie temperatures ranging between 36 K and 60 K. Theoretical calculations reveal that, in contrast to traditional MXenes, the number of d-electrons states around the Fermi level are largely diminishes in bare Ln2C MXenes, and the halogen terminals can further exhaust these electrons to open band gaps. Meanwhile, the Ln-4f electrons in Ln2CT2 are highly localized and stay away from the Fermi level, contributing to the spin splitting for the observed ferromagnetic behavior. Lanthanide MXenes hold immense promise for revolutionizing future applications in spintronic devices.

This work builds on recent advances in foundation models in the language and image domains to explore similar approaches for seismic source characterization. We rely on an architecture called Barlow Twins, borrowed from an understanding of the human visual cortical system and originally envisioned for the image domain and adapt it for learning path invariance in seismic event time series. Our model improves the performance on event characterization tasks such as source discrimination across catalogs by 10-12% and provides more reliable predictive uncertainty estimates. We suggest that dataset scale and diversity more than architecture may determine aspects of the current ceiling on performance. We leverage decision trees, linear models, and visualization to understanding the dependencies in learned representations.

In cellular mobile networks, wireless channel quality (CQ) is a crucial factor in determining communication performance and user's network experience. Accurately predicting CQ based on real environmental characteristics, specific base station configurations and user trajectories can help network operators optimize base station deployment, improving coverage and capacity. The Received Signal Reference Power (RSRP) and Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) of user equipment (UE) are key indicators of CQ in wireless communication. However, existing researches have limitations in terms of generation accuracy. Regression methods such as statistical inference and random forests fail to effectively capture the unique characteristics of wireless environments; theoretical derivations relying on specific communication protocols lack generalization capability; data-driven machine learning (ML) methods like Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) Network often suffer from a lack of interpretability. To overcome these limitations, we propose physics-informed diffusion models, which accurately generate RSRP and SINR at UE based on the wireless environment, base station configurations, and user trajectories. The model adopts a modular and end-to-end design, employing a teacher-student framework to achieve knowledge distillation. This method integrates expert knowledge into the training of diffusion models, enhancing both the interpretability and accuracy, while also facilitating faster convergence of the model parameters. Furthermore, it allows for self-adaptation in various scenarios through few-shot learning. Spatial expressions in situated communication can be ambiguous, as their meanings vary depending on the frames of reference (FoR) adopted by speakers and listeners. While spatial language understanding and reasoning by vision-language models (VLMs) have gained increasing attention, potential ambiguities in these models are still under-explored. To address this issue, we present the COnsistent Multilingual Frame Of Reference Test (COMFORT), an evaluation protocol to systematically assess the spatial reasoning capabilities of VLMs. We evaluate nine state-of-the-art VLMs using COMFORT. Despite showing some alignment with English conventions in resolving ambiguities, our experiments reveal significant shortcomings of VLMs: notably, the models (1) exhibit poor robustness and consistency, (2) lack the flexibility to accommodate multiple FoRs, and (3) fail to adhere to language-specific or culture-specific conventions in cross-lingual tests, as English tends to dominate other languages. Imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes (IACTs) are used to observe very high-energy photons from the ground. Gamma rays are indirectly detected through the Cherenkov light emitted by the air showers they induce. The new generation of experiments, in particular the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO), sets ambitious goals for discoveries of new gamma-ray sources and precise measurements of the already discovered ones. To achieve these goals, both hardware and data analysis must employ cutting-edge techniques. This also applies to the LST-1, the first IACT built for the CTAO, which is currently taking data on the Canary island of La Palma. This paper introduces a new event reconstruction technique for IACT data, aiming to improve the image reconstruction quality and the discrimination between the signal and the background from misidentified hadrons and electrons. The technique models the development of the extensive air shower signal, recorded as a waveform per pixel, seen by CTAO telescopes' cameras. Model parameters are subsequently passed to random forest regressors and classifiers to extract information on the primary particle. The new reconstruction was applied to simulated data and to data from observations of the Crab Nebula performed by the LST-1. The event reconstruction method presented here shows promising performance improvements. The angular and energy resolution, and the sensitivity, are improved by 10 to 20% over most of the energy range. At low energy, improvements reach up to 22%, 47%, and 50%, respectively. Mobile traffic forecasting allows operators to anticipate network dynamics and performance in advance, offering substantial potential for enhancing service quality and improving user experience. However, existing models are often task-oriented and are trained with tailored data, which limits their effectiveness in diverse mobile network tasks of Base Station (BS) deployment, resource allocation, energy optimization, etc. and hinders generalization across different urban environments. Foundation models have made remarkable strides across various domains of NLP and CV due to their multi-tasking adaption and zero/few-shot learning capabilities. In this paper, we propose an innovative Foundation model for Mo}bile traffic forecasting (FoMo), aiming to handle diverse forecasting tasks of short/long-term predictions and distribution generation across multiple cities to support network planning and optimization. FoMo combines diffusion models and transformers, where various spatio-temporal masks are proposed to enable FoMo to learn intrinsic features of different tasks, and a contrastive learning strategy is developed to capture the correlations between mobile traffic and urban contexts, thereby improving its transfer learning capability. Extensive experiments on 9 real-world datasets demonstrate that FoMo outperforms current models concerning diverse forecasting tasks and zero/few-shot learning, showcasing a strong universality. We further deploy the FoMo on the JiuTian optimization platform of China Mobile, where we use the predicted mobile data to formulate network planning and optimization applications, including BS deployment, resource block scheduling, and BS sleep control., Comment: 17 pages, 11 figures
