Bu çalışma, 2018 yılında Yarı kurak iklim koşullarının hüküm sürdüğü Diyarbakır İlinde yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada; farklı kurumlardan temin edilen bölge tarımına yeni alınan 9 pamuk çeşidi (Bomba, Carla, Edessa, Es 1, Esperia, Lima, SC 2009, SC 2079, Sezener 76, PG 2018) ile 6 pamuk çeşidi (BA 119, BA 440, Gloria, Carla, DP 499, ST 468) materyal olarak kullanılmıştır. Tesadüf blokları deney desenine göre üç tekerrürlü olarak kurulan çalışmada, her parsel 10 m boyunda, 4 sıralı, sıra arası 70 cm ve sıra üzeri mesafe 10 cm olacak şekilde ekim gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada, bitki boyu, odun dalı sayısı, meyve dalı sayısı, koza sayısı, ilk meyve dalı boğum sayısı, dekara kütlü pamuk verimi, çırçır randımanı, 100 tohum ağırlığı, lif uzunluğu, lif inceliği ve lif mukavemeti incelenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre; Çeşitler arasında kütlü pamuk veriminin 307.0 ile 507.0 kg/da arasında değiştiği saptanmıştır. Bitki boyu yönünden ES-1, meye dalı sayısı yönünden SC 2009, Kütlü pamuk verimi yönünden DP 499, çırçır randımanı yönünden ES-1 ve ST 468 (%41.60) ve Lima (%41.47) 100 tohum ağırlığı yönünden Sezener-76, lif uzunluğu yönünden Lima, kısa lif oranı yönünden DP 499, lif elastikiyeti yönünden Bomba, lifte sarılık yönünden Gloria çeşitlerinin diğer çeşitlerden üstün oldukları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, ilk meyve dalı boğum sayısı, odun dalı sayısı, açan koza sayısı, açmayan koza sayısı, lif inceliği, üniformite, lif kopma dayanıklılığı, parlaklık değeri yönünden çeşitler arasında istatistiksel olarak önemli bir fark olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.

Drought stress significantly reduces the growth and yield of cotton plants; therefore, reducing the damage caused by drought stress and improving the plant growth are highly important. The aims of this study were to investigate some of physiological and biochemical properties of cotton plants exposed to different drought levels and to determine the extent of improvement obtained by exogenous glycine betaine treatment for the damages caused by the adverse effects of drought. Three drought levels were created using PEG (Polyethylene glycol 6000) solution (0%, 10% and 20%). The drought groups were also divided into 2 subgroups by using 0 (control: glycine betaine solution was not applied) and 2 mM glycine betaine solution. The pot experiment was established in a growth chamber with 3 replications and the experiment repeated twice. The changes in the contents of contents of chlorophyll a and b, carotenoid, total dissolved protein, total dissolved carbohydrate and some nutrients were investigated. Chlorophyll a and b, calcium, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus concentrations were decreased, while carotenoid, total dissolved protein and carbohydrate, potassium contents increased with the increasing drought level. The results revealed that adverse effects of drought stress on cotton plants were alleviated by exogenous application of glycine betaine.

Bitkiler kuraklık stresi gibi birçok strese maruz kalmaktadırlar. Araştırmamızda PEG 6000 çözeltisi kullanılmış, 3 adet kuraklık seviyesi oluşturulmuştur (%0, %10, %20 g L-1). Bu oluşturulan kuraklık grupları da kendi içinde 0 (kontrol: prolin çözeltisi uygulanmamış) ve 2 mM prolin çözeltisi uygulanarak iki alt gruba ayrılmıştır. Pamuk bitkisinde farklı kuraklık seviyelerinin oluşturduğu zararlanmaları görüp, dışsal prolin uygulamasının bu zararlanmayı ne kadar iyileştirdiğini görmek amaçlanmıştır. Deneme deseni, saksılarda üç tekrarlamalı olarak yapılmıştır ve deneme deseni iklimlendirme odasında iki kez kurulmuştur. Stres ve kontrol gruplarında klorofil a ve b, karotenoid, toplam çözünmüş protein, toplam çözünmüş karbonhidrat ve bazı besin elementlerinin değerlerinin değişimi incelenmiştir. Artan kuraklık dozuna bağlı olarak klorofil a ve b’nin azaldığı; karotenoidin, toplam çözünmüş protein ve karbonhidratın arttığı; K elementinin arttığı, Ca Mg, Na ve P elementinin azaldığı görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte prolin uygulamasıyla pamuk bitkisindeki kuraklık stresinin olumsuz etkilerinin azaldığı gözlenmiştir., Plants are exposed to many stresses such as drought stress. In our study, PEG 6000 solution was used and 3 drought levels were created (0%, 10%, 20% g L-1). These drought groups were also divided into 2 subgroups by applying 0 (control: no proline solution) and 2 mM proline solution. It was aimed to see the damages caused by different drought levels in the cotton plant and to see how much the exogenous proline application remedy this damage. The trial pattern was made in pots with 3 repetitions, the trial was set up in the air conditioning room twice. The changes in the values of chlorophyll a and b, carotenoid, total dissolved protein, total dissolved carbohydrate and some nutritional elements in the stress and control groups were examined. Chlorophyll a and b decreased due to the increasing drought dose; increased carotenoid, total dissolved protein and carbohydrate; It was observed that the K element increased, Ca, Mg, Na and P element decreased. However, it was observed that the negative effects of drought stress in cotton plants were reduced with proline application.

This study was aimed to assess the effect of defoliant application on yield and yield components of some cotton cultivars at timely and late sowing under Harran Plain conditions in 2017 and 2018 growing seasons. Field trials were arranged employing randomized blocks split-split plots design with 3 replications. In the study, sowing times (i.e.10th of May and 10th of June) consisted the main plots, cultivars (i.e. Candia and Lima) placed in the sub-plots and defoliant applications (i.e. Control and Dropp Ultra (600 ml ha-1)) were in the sub-subplots. Each plot was sown with a length of 12 m and 6 rows, with a 70 cm inter-row and 15 cm intra-row spacing. In the trials, the defoliant chemical called Dropp Ultra (i.e.120 g Thidiazuron + 60 g Diuron) was used. The application was practiced when the 60 % of boll opened. It was found that Candia and Lima cotton cultivars sown timely gave seed cotton yields of 5296.7 and 5073.3 kg ha-1 respectively, whereas at late sowing gave the seed cotton yields of 4672.5 kg ha-1 and 4545.8 kg ha-1in 2017 and 2018; Candia gave the higher seed cotton yield (i.e. 5179.2 in 2017 and 5013.3 kg ha-1 in 2018) than Lima cultivar (i.e. 4790.0 in 2017 and 4605.8 kg ha-1 in 2018) in both years. Results indicated that that the defoliant application increased the seed cotton yield comparing control plots. Defoliant application positively influenced the seed cotton yield (kg ha-1), plant height (cm), number of opened bolls (per plant-1), boll weight (g) and boll seed cotton weight (g). However, there were no significant effects on the number of bolls (per plant-1) and 100 seed weight (g). It was concluded that defoliant application and timely sowing can be recommended for farmers in the region.

Cotton fibers are the most important raw material of the textile industry. Clean collection of cotton fibers increases the quality of textile products and the market prices. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of normal and late harvest period of different cotton varieties on cotton fiber and yarn properties. The quality properties of the fibers were determined with the HVI device, and the quality properties of the yarns obtained from the fibers were determined with the USTER TESTER device. The fiber quality properties such as fiber fineness (micronaire), fiber maturity, fiber length (UHML, mm), strength (g/tex), brightness/whiteness (Rd), and yarn quality properties such as yarn evenness (%), thin places, neps+200 (%) and hairiness were investigated in the study. The exposure of fibers to rain during the harvest period of 2018 caused a decrease in the quality properties. Inability of the plants to receive sufficient sunlight during the last physiological development period caused a decrease in photosynthesis rate. This negative situation negatively affected the physical quality properties of fiber and yarn. The results indicated that the physical quality properties of fibers and yarns obtained in 2019 were higher than those in 2018. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of late harvest period on fiber and yarn quality properties and thus on quality of textile products. In addition, the study was carried out to guide researchers who will conduct researchers on similar topics.

Objective: The aim of the present research was to compared differences among the organic and conventional farming system in fibres quality properties of some cotton varieties under semi arid climatic conditions of Turkey.Material and Methods: This research was carried out by using the ST-468 and BA-119 cotton varieties in three replications, according to the randomized block split parcel trial design under organic farmland conditions in 2013-2014 growing seasons; NPK, Biofarm (cattle fertilizer) and pigeon manure and control plots (without fertilizer).Results: It was found that the seed cotton yield varied from 3594.8 (ST-468) to 3737.4 kg ha-1 (BA-119) in the varieties and the highest yield was obtained from the BA-119 with 3737.4 kg ha-1. It was determined that there was a statistical important difference between two varieties in terms of seed cotton yield. We think that this efficiency difference between varieties is caused by genetic and environmental factors. The result of fertilization applications was changed between 3370.0 (cattle manure) and 4424.5 kg ha-1 (chemical fertilization) and the highest seed cotton yield was obtained from chemical (NPK) fertilization applies.Conclusion: According to the results of the study, it has been concluded that the cotton produced in the conventional production conditions is heavily contaminated with chemical inputs and this has negative effects on the pollution of the environment., Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkiye’nin yarı kurak iklim koşullarında organik ve konvansiyonel tarım sisteminde bazı pamuk çeşitlerinin lif kalite özellikleri arasındaki farklılıkları karşılaştırmaktır.Materyal ve Metot: Bu araştırma, 2013-2014 büyüme mevsimlerinde organik tarım koşullarında tesadüf blokları bölünmüş parsel deneme desenine göre, ST-468 ve BA-119 pamuk çeşitleri ile üç tekerrürlü olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma, NPK, Biofarm (sığır gübresi), güvercin gübresi ve kontrol tarlaları (gübresiz) koşullarda yürütülmüştür.Bulgular: Pamuğun verimi çeşitlerde 3594.8 (ST-468) ila 3737.4 kg ha-1 (BA-119) arasında değiştiği ve en yüksek verimin BA-119’dan 3737.4 kg ha-1 elde edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Pamuk verimi bakımından iki çeşit arasında istatistiksel olarak önemli bir fark olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çeşitler arasındaki bu verimlilik farkının genetik ve çevresel faktörlerden kaynaklandığını düşünüyoruz. Gübreleme uygulamaları sonucu 3370.0 (sığır gübresi) ile 4424.5 kg ha-1 (kimyasal gübreleme) arasında değiştiği ve kimyasal (NPK) gübreleme uygulamasından en yüksek pamuk veriminin elde edildiği görülmüştür.Sonuç: Organik pamuk üretimi ve organik girdilerin kullanımı sürdürülebilir tarım, çevre ve gıda güvenliğinin sağlanması açısından önemli bir konudur. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, konvansiyonel üretim koşullarında üretilen pamuğun kimyasal girdilerle aşırı derecede kirlenmiş olduğu ve bunun çevre kirliliğini olumsuz yönde etkilediği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Bu çalışma 2014 ve 2015 yıllarında, farklı organik ve mikrobiyal gübre uygulamalarının bazı pamuk çeşitlerinde verim ve verim unsurlarına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla, Harran Ovasında organik Tarım Koşullarında yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada organik çiftlik gübresi (2000 kg ha-1), güvercin gübresi (1000 kg ha-1) ve mikrobiyal gübre (100 cc 100 lt su) uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada ST-468, BA-119 ve Candia pamuk çeşitleri, bitki materyali olarak kullanılmıştır. Deneme, bölünmüş parseller deneme desenine göre dört tekrarlamalı olarak yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada bitkisel özelliklerden; bitki boyu(cm), odun dalı (adet bitki-1), meyve dalı (adet bitki-1), bitki başına koza sayısı (adet bitki-1) ve kütlü pamuk verimi (kg ha-1) kriterleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen varyans analiz sonuçlarına göre 2014 yılında; çeşitlerin kütlü pamuk verimi 3313.8 kg ha-1 (ST-468) ile 3490.7 kg ha-1 (Candia) arasında değişmiş olup, en yüksek kütlü pamuk verimi Candia çeşidinden elde edilmiştir. 2015 yılında çeşitlerin kütlü pamuk verimi 4389.0 kg ha-1 (Candia) ile 4705.7 kg ha-1 (BA-119) arasında değişmiş olup, en yüksek verim BA-119 çeşidinden elde edilmiştir. Organik ve mikrobiyal gübre uygulamaları sonucunda ise 2014 yılında, kütlü pamuk veriminin 1879.6 kg ha-1 (kontrol) ile 4346.0 kg ha-1 (Biofarm gübre) arasında değiştiği, en yüksek verimin Biofarm gübresi uygulamasından elde edildiği görülmüştür. 2015 yılında ise 3661.1 kg ha-1 (Kontrol) ile 5231.5 kg ha-1 (güvercin gübresi + mikrobiyal gübre) arasında değiştiği, en yüksek verimin güvercin gübresi + mikrobiyal gübre uygulamasından elde edildiği belirlenmiştir. Özellikle mikrobiyal gübrenin verim ve verim komponentlerinde önemli düzeyde etkisinin olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışmamızdan; BA-119 çeşidi ile güvercin gübresi + mikrobiyal gübre interaksiyonunun en yüksek verimi sağladığı sonucuna varılmıştır.

Pamuk tekstil sektörünün önemli bir hammaddesidir. Özellikle pamuklu giysilerin doğal lif taşımaları nedeniyle insan yaşamında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Dünyada 2018/2019 sezonunda toplam lif pamuk üretim miktarı 25.69 milyon ton olarak gerçekleşmiştir. Dünyanın önde gelen lif pamuk üretici ülkeleri Çin, Hindistan,ABD, Pakistan, Özbekistan, Türkiye ve Tacikistan’dır. Ülkemiz dünya lif pamuk üretiminde 6. Sırada yer almaktadır. Pamuk ülkemiz tarımında büyük öneme sahip bir üründür. Ülkemizde yıllık yaklaşık olarak 800 bin ton lif pamuk üretilmektedir. Tekstil sektöründeki tüketim miktarı ise 1.600 bin ton kadardır. Dolayısıyla her yıl pamuk üretimimiz kadar olan miktarı yurt dışından ithal etmekteyiz. Tekstil sektöründe tüketilen pamuklar katma değeri yüksek nihai ürün olan giysi ürünlerine dönüşmektedir. Arge ve inovasyon faaliyetleri, moda akımı trendleri ve insanların tüketim alışkanlıklarındaki değişim, tekstil ürünlerine olan talebi her geçen gün arttırmaktadır. Ülkemiz yıllık ihracat değerleri incelendiğinde tekstil mamulleri ihracatı yaklaşık olarak %35 pay almaktadır. Tekstil sektörünün en önemli hammaddesi pamuk lifi olduğu için her geçen gün, bu lifin değeri ve önemi artmaktadır. Önümüzdeki süreçte pamuk lifinin üretim kapasitesinin artırılması ve üretilen liflerin nihai ürüne dönüşüm safhasında katma değerinin daha da arttırılmasına gereken önem verilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmamızda temel amaç, Dünyada ve Türkiye’de tekstil sektörünün en önemli hammaddesi olan pamuk lif üretiminin mevcut durumu ve önemini belirtmek ve bu konuda yapılacak çalışmalara yol gösterici olmaktır.

Soybean {Glycine max (L.) Merill} is not only an important food source containing fat, protein, carbohydrate and minerals but also an important industrial plant providing raw material for many industries. Organic farming is an important element for sustainability of farming, protection of environment, and reduction of chemical fertilizers usage. Soybean, like other legumes, has rhizobium bacteria in its roots providing nitrogen and organic materials which facilitate the sustainability of organic farming. This study was conducted with the aim of researching the effects of the organic cattle manure doses on yield and yield elements of soybean under semi-arid climatic conditions in organic farming. In this study, organic cattle manure with the doses of 0, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 kg ha-1 were applied to Adasoy Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merill] cultivar under the second crop conditions. There search was conducted according to the random blocks experimental design with three replications during 2013 and 2014. In results obtained from the two-years study determined that the seed yield varied between 1678.9 and 2611.8 kg ha-1; plant height varied between 87.00 and 112.00 cm; number of branches per plant varied between 3.04 and 6.28; first pod height varied between 7.68 and 12.81 cm; number of pod per plant varied between 103.83 and 138.66 per plant-1; protein ratio varied between 39.31% and 41.74%; 100 seeds weight varied between 12.49 g and 15.28 g; and oil ratio varied between 20.51% to 21.91%. According to the results of correlation analysis, positive and important correlations between seed yield with number of branches per plant (r=0.4964**), and number of pod per plant (r=0.4964*) and 100 seeds weight (r=0.5782**) were observed.

İklim değerleri içinde sıcaklık, pamuk bitkisinin çimlenme, koza oluşumu ve hasat sürecine kadar büyüme, gelişme gibi bütün fizyolojik dönemleri etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden birisidir. Bu çalışma, Harran Ovası organik tarım koşullarında, 2014 ve 2015 yıllarında beş farklı organik gübre uygulamaları (Biofarm, Güvercin, Biofarm + Mikrobiyal, Güvercin + Mikrobiyal ve kontrol) ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma BA-119 ve Candia pamuk çeşitlerinin fizyolojik gelişme sürelerine (gün ve gün-derece), farklı organik gübre uygulamalarının etkilerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre; ilk gerçek yaprak, taraklanma, çiçeklenme, koza açımı ve hasat olgunluğu evrelerine ait en düşük “gün” değerleri ortalamaları, incelenen özellikler yönünden BA-119 çeşidine ait olup sırasıyla; 15.94, 37.74, 61.95, 114.35 ve 131.05 gün olarak elde edilmiştir. BA-119 çeşidine ait “gün-derece” değerleri ortalaması ise; 107.60, 317.31, 631.17, 1463.04 ve 1694.76 °C şeklindedir. Ayrıca, kullanılan organik gübrelere göre incelenen özellikler yönünden, yukarıda belirtilen karakterlere ait en düşük “gün” değerleri sırasıyla; Güvercin + Mikrobiyal gübre 17.12, Güvercin gübresi 44.50, Biofarm gübresi 64.62, Biofarm gübresi 117.74 ve kontrol 133.37; “gün-derece” değerleri yönünden Biofarm + Mikrobiyal gübre 116.50, Biofarm gübresi 400.10, Biofarm gübresi 685.44, Biofarm gübresi 1530.46 ve Biofarm gübresi 1749.30 °C gübre uygulamalarından elde edilmiştir. Çeşit-gübre interaksiyonu incelendiğinde incelenen özellikler yönünden önemli bulunmamıştır.

1999 yılında yürütülen çalışmada GAP Bölgesi'nde yetiştirilen yedi pamuk çeşidinin (Gossypium hirsutum L.) lif ve bazı iplik kalite özelliklerinin belirlenmesi, lif ve iplik özellikleri arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında yapılan path analizi sonuçlarına göre iplik kopma dayanıklılığına doğrudan ve olumlu yönde etki gösteren lif özellikleri ve etki oranları sırasıyla kopma dayanıklılığı (% 88.26) ve incelik (% 12.07) olarak bulunmuştur. Lif kopma dayanıklılığının, iplik mukavemeti üzerine dolaylı etkisine ilişkin değerin l'den büyük (1.089) bulunması, lif kopma dayanıklılığı etkisinin, incelenen öteki lif özelliklerinin doğrudan etkilerinden daha fazla olduğunu göstermiştir. Lif kopma dayanıklılığının iplik mukavemeti üzerindeki önemli düzeyde olumlu doğrudan etkisi, dayanıklı liflerden sağlam ipliklerin elde edileceğini ortaya koymuştur. This study conducted in 1999 was designed to determine the properties of cotton fiber and some yarn characters and to clarify the nature of associations between fiber and yarn properties in seven cotton varieties (Gossypium hirsutum L.) grown in Harran conditions.The direct and positive influences of fiber strength and micronaire reading on yarn tenacity were found to be responsible for 88.26% and 12.07 %, respectively. The value of the direct effect of fiber strength was greater than one (1.089), it is evident that the effect of fiber stregth on yarn tenacity was much superior to any direct effects of the other fiber properties correlated to yarn strength and fiber strength. A remarkable positive direct effect of fiber tenacity on yarn tenacity confirms that stronger cotton fibers produce stronger yarns.
