A review of and a key to four species of the ceutorhynchine genus Thamiocolus Thomson from Israel are presented. Thamiocolus chikatunovi n. sp. is described from the western edge of the Samarian and Judean deserts in Israel and from Mount Nebo in Jordan. Thamiocolus pici Korotyaev, 1997 is recognized as an Israeli species probably distinct from the very closely related western Anatolian Th. calcaratus (A. Schultze, 1901); photographs of the holotype of Th. calcaratus are published for the first time. Thamiocolus wittmeri Colonnelli, 1975 is recorded for the first time from Jordan. Middle Asian Thamiocolus hispidirostris (Iablokov-Khnzorian, 1971) is placed in synonymy with Th. tataricus (A. Schultze, 1900). A female very similar to the Turkish Th. comptus Colonnelli, 1997 is recorded from Syria, described in detail and illustrated. The tribe Ceutorhynchini and the genus Thamiocolus are briefly characterized, with a discussion of the composition of the Israeli Thamiocolus fauna and morphological features of its four species.

A new species, Mogulones chikatunovi, is described from Israel, and compared with the close Euromediterranean M. andreae (Germar, 1823) and Western Palaearctic M. larvatus (A. Schultze, 1897)., Una nuova specie, Mogulones chikatunovi, viene descritta di Israele e confrontata con il vicino M. andreae euromediterraneo (Germar, 1823) e con il Paleartico occidentale M. larvatus (A. Schultze, 1897).

The new genus Gibbopterus gen. nov. is included among Scleropterini to accommodate the new species of wingless weevils Gibbopterus guizhounus sp. nov. and Gibbopterus tenuis sp. nov., both from southwest China. The new genus's relationships with its three close relatives — Scleropteroides, Scleropterus and Proscleropterus — are discussed.

Two new species of the weevil genus Mecysmoderes Schoenherr, 1837 are described from Vietnam. Mecysmoderes (Enzoellus) vladimirisp. n. differs from the type species of Enzoellus and its allies from Thailand and Laos in the larger size, deeper meshes on the pronotum, broader legs and a velvety black sutural spot on the elytra. Mecysmoderes (Xenysmoderes) sergiisp. n. in the shape, coloration, and vestiture of the body is similar to M. consularis Pascoe, but clearly differs in the larger size, strongly and unevenly convex pronotal disc, swollen in the middle part elytra, and a dark scutellar spot.

The genus Cardipennis Korotyaev, 1980 (Ceutorhynchinae: Ceutorhynchini) was studied on the basis of detailed morphological observations of various materials. Different scale patterns within a species are found for all the three species. Based on the external morphology and genitalia characteristics, Cardipennis rubripes (Hustache, 1916), C. sulcithorax (Hustache, 1916), and C. shaowuensis (Voss, 1958) are redescribed, with new records of C. rubripes from mainland China. Cardipennis species are mainly associated with annual herbs of Cannabis and Humulus (Cannabaceae). A key to species, habitus photographs, and illustrations of important characters are provided for each species. Distribution maps of the three species are also given.

The weevil Mogulones pannonicus (Hajoss, 1928), previously known from a few records in Hungary and Poland, was found in Chuvashia. Description of the formerly unknown male of this species is given.

A new species Mogulones neslihanae Korotyaev, Gültekin & Colonnelli sp. nov. is described from Northeastern Turkey where it lives on Nonea caspica. The new species is very closely related to M. tristis (Korotyaev, 1981) from the Hakkari and Şırnak provinces of Southeastern Turkey; M. neslihanae sp. nov. differs primarily in the smaller body size and a well-developed pattern of the pronotum and elytra, instead of being uniformly covered with very dark brown pubescence as in M. tristis. These two Turkish species are also compared with M. austriacus (C. Brisout, 1869) from Eastern Europe and Western Asia, another species associated mostly with Nonea pulla complex with purple flowers.

Thirteen new species of the weevil subfamily Ceutorhynchinae are described from the Russian Far East, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Nepal. A new subgen. n. is erected in Oprohinus for O. oxyanus sp. n. (type species) and O. maior sp. n. from Tadzhikistan and Turkmenistan. Ceutorhynchus neophytus Fst. is resurrected from synonymy with C. arator Gyll. Ceutorhynchus gandoni Hoffm. is transferred to Sirocalodes Voss. Rhinoncus fukienensis Wagn. is recorded for the first time from Taiwan, and Oprohinus libanoticus (Schze.)—from Syria.

A new species, Auleutes alexanderi sp. n. formerly confused with and similar to the Holarctic A. epilobii (Pk.) is described from the Middle West and Southeast United States. The new species differs from A. epilobii in the rostrum densely covered with broad white scales in males and longer, less strongly curved and matte, not striate, and less flattened in females and in the structure of the aedeagus with a broad membranous medial part along the entire length.

Xenysmoderodes Yoshitake, 2007, belonging to the tribe Mecysmoderini, was described as a monotypic genus from Japan, including the species X. sasajii Yoshitake. Two new species, X. concavus sp. nov. and X. flos sp. nov., are described here fromChina, providing a new country record for this genus. We revise the description of the genus based on three species and present an updated key to the species.

The fauna of weevils (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) from Lorestan province, western Iran is studied in this paper. A total 56 species from 19 genera and 5 subfamilies (including, Curculioninae, Ceutorhynchinae, Entiminae, Hyperinae, Lixinae) were collected.

Theodorinus (Atlantonyx) lopezcoloni sp. nov. is described from Spain, closely related to Th. latipennis (Pic, 1905) from Algeria and Morocco, but differing in the noticeably narrower body, uniformly flat elytral intervals, narrower tarsi with 3rd tarsomere only slightly wider than 2nd, somewhat less convex scales, and absence of erect setae in the depression on anal ventrite in male. In the shape of body, evenly flat elytral intervals, position of the tubercle on 5th interval, and absence of erect setae on male anal ventrite the new species is more similar to the Moroccan Th. peyerimhoffi Korotyaev, 1994. It differs, in addition to the structure of aedeagus, in the broader, more widely overlapping scales on the body, much narrower odd-numbered elytral intervals than even-numbered ones, and, prima facies, in the still more advanced denticle on the 5th interval of elytra.

The genus Ceutorhynchoides Colonnelli (Ceutorhynchini, Ceutorhynchinae) is recorded for the first time from Japan, with descriptions of two new species: C. squamatus sp. noc. (Ryukyus) and C. styracis sp. nov. (Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu). In addition, Hainokisaruzo gen. nov.., which is related to Ceutorhynchoides, is established for three Japanese species : H. japonicus sp. nov. (type species; Honshu and Kyushu), H. nipponensis (Hustache), comb. nov. (Honshu and Kyushu), and H. infuscatus sp. nov. (Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Ryukyus). Based on morphological reason, Ceutorhynchoides bengalensis Colonnelli, C. notatus Collonnelli, C. topali Colonnelli, C. subcostulatus (Hustache), and C. sinensis Korotyaev from the Oriental Region are transferred to Hainolosaruzo (comb. nov.). as key to species, habitus photographs, and illustrations and SEM photographs of important characters are provided for the Japanese species of both genera. The following host association records are aolso given in this paper: Ceutorhynchoides styracis with styrax japonica Siebold et Zuccarini (Stracaceae), Hainokisarzi japonicus with Symplocos glauca (Thunberg) Koidzumi (Symplocaceae), and H. nipponensis with Symplocoschinensis (Loureiro) Druce (Symplocaceae).

A new species of the genus Augustinus Korotyaev, 1981 (Cnemogonini, Ceutorhynchinae) is described. Five Japanese species including the new species are studied taxonomically and classfield into the following threespecies groups: the longipes-group contains Augustinus longipes (Korotyaev, 1981) and A. coes sp. nov., and is characterized mainly by the sinuate and hind tibiae, and the ventrally prominene netasternal receptacle; the bouvieri-group consisting of Augustinus bouvieri (Hustache, 1916) and A. similis (Chujo, 1959) is similaar to the longipes-group in faving the robust rostrum with a median slit and the smooth prominences on the pronotum, but differs from it in having the clavate and dentate mid femora, the smooth internal margins of the mida and hind tibiae, and the flat metasternum; thw sasakii-group consists of A. sasakii (Chujo, 1959) and is cleary different from the other two groups in possessing the slenderer rostrum with a median ridge and the denticulate prominences in the pronotum. A key the Japanese species in provided, in addition to habitus photographs and line drawing on important features for each species with the exception of A. sasakii, as well as biological notes on the three species that are associated with Leucoceptrum (Lamiaceae).

A new species of the weevil genus Trachelanthus Korotyaev, 1980 is described from Hissar Mt. Range in Tajikistan. Trachelanthus lopatini sp. n. is similar to T. margaritae (Korotyaev, 1980), known only from Western Kopet Dagh Mts., Turkmenistan, but differs in the much larger body size, more transverse pronotum, larger denticles on the lateral intervals of the elytra, and well-developed white transverse angulated band in the basal part of the elytra running from scutellar spot toward lateral margins of the elytra near their mid-length. Trachelanthus lopatini sp. n. близок к T. margaritae (Korotyaev, 1980), известному только из Западного Копетдага, Туркменистан, но отличается значительно более крупными размерами тела, более поперечной переднеспинкой, более крупными зубцами на боковых промежутках надкрылий и хорошо развитой белой угловатой перевязью в основной части надкрылий, идущей от прищиткового пятна к боковому краю надкрылий в их средней части.

58 species are recorded from Korea based on re-examination of the previously reported material and study of a new one. Six new species (Rutidosoma koreanum Korotyaev et Hong, sp. n., Calosirus kwoni Korotyaev et Hong, sp. a, Mygulones kwoni Korotyaev et Hong, sp. n., Augustinus koreanus Korotyaev et Hong, sp. n., Ceutorhynchoides koreanus Korotyaev et Hong, sp. n. and Mecysmoderes koreanus Korotyaev et Hong, sp. n.) are described from Korea, and 5 species [Pelenomus waltoni (Boheman, 1843), Ceutorhynchus scapularis Gyllenhal, 1837, Hadroplontus ancora (Roelofs, 1875), Thamiocolus kerzhneri Korotyaev, 1980 and Glocianus fennicus (Faust, 1895)] are recorded from Korea for the first time. The new subgenera Heorutidosoma Korotyaev et Hong, subgen. n. and Coelioderes Korotyaev, subgen. n. are erected in Rutidosoma and Mecysmoderes, respectively. The following new species are described from the neighbouring countries: Ceutorhynchus japonicus Korotyaev, sp. n. from Japan (Honshu), very closely related to C. cochleariae Gyllenhal; Calosirus oxystoma Korotyaev, sp. n. from China, very similar to C. kwoni Korotyaev et Hong, sp. n.; Microplontus amurensis Korotyaev, sp. n. from Khabarovsk Territory of Russia; Mecysmoderes nipponicus Korotyaev, sp. n. from Japan (Honshu), very closely related to M. koreanus Korotyaev et Hong, sp. n. New host plants are recorded for several species; the host of Phytobiomorphus variegatus (Hustache) is Lychnis sp. (Caryophyllaceae).

The first fully documented North American records of the Palearctic Ceutorhynchinae weevil species Amalorrhynchus melanarius (Stephens, 1831), Microplontus campestris (Gyllenhal, 1837), Pelenomus waltoni (Boheman, 1843), and Rhinoncus perpendicularis (Reiche, 1797) are presented. Characters providing for their recognition, as well as keys and habitus photographs facilitating their identification, are provided. It is likely that all four species have recently been introduced unintentionally by human activities.

Belonnotus yukawai sp. n. and Belonnotus tibialis sp. n. are described from Java and Belonnotus floresanus (Heller) in the Lesser Sunda Islands in redescribed. A key to the three Indonesian species is provided, with photographs and illustrations of important features for each species/

The Trichosirocalus horridus (Panzer) species complex is defined and revised and two new sibling species are described and figured: T. briesei (type locality: San Esteban de Gormaz, Soria, Spain) and T. mortadelo (type locality: Canberra, Australia, introduced). The existence of these siblings could explain the different food preferences observed between the different populations or strains of the supposed single species T. horridus.

The genus Scleropteroides Colonnelli, 1979 (Ceutorhynchinae: Scleropterini) was revised on the basis of detailed morphological observations. The genus was redefined to include three species from East Asia: S. hypocrita (Hustache, 1916) is redescribed and recorded from northeastern China and northern Korea for the first time; S. horridulus (Voss, 1958) is redescribed with new records from southern Korea; S. insularis Voss, 1971 was moved from synonymy with S. hypocrita to that with S. horridulus (syn. n.), and S. longiprocessus Huang & Yoshitake, sp. n. is described as new, sympatric with S. hypocrita in Japan. All the species are associated with woody Rubus species (Rosaceae). A key to species, habitus photographs, illustrations of important characters, and distribution maps are provided for each species.

Yüksek Lisans Tezi Edirne ili Ceutorhynchinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) faunasının tespitine yönelik yapılan bu çalışma, 2011-2012 yıllarının Mart-Haziran ayları arasında 44 lokalitede sürdürülmüştür. Araştırmada toplanan örnekler değerlendirildiğinde, Ceutorhynchinae altfamilyasına ait 3 tribus, 15 cins ve 33 tür tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen türlerden Ceutorhynchus pyrrhorhynchus (Marsham, 1802) ve Glocianus moelleri (Thomson, 1868), Türkiye faunası için yeni kayıtlardır. This study, performed in 44 localities during from March to June 2011 and 2012, was carried out in order to determine Ceutorhynchinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) fauna of Edirne Province. Evaluation of the collected specimens revealed presence of 33 species in 15 genera of 3 tribes of Ceutorhynchinae. Ceutorhynchus pyrrhorhynchus (Marsham, 1802) and Glocianus moelleri (Thomson, 1868) were reported as new records for Turkey fauna. Three genera, Coeliastes Weise 1883, Stenocarus Thomson 1959 and Zacladus Reitter 1913, and 12 species, Ceutorhynchus atomus Boheman 1845, Ceutorhynchus chlorophanus Rouget 1857, Ceutorhynchus nanus Gyllenhal 1837, Ceutorhynchus turbatus Schultze 1903, Coeliastes sp., Neoglocianus transcaucasicus (Korotyaev, 1980), Sirocalodes mixtus (Mulsant & Rey, 1858), Stenocarus cardui (Herbst, 1784), Zacladus asperatus (Gyllenhal, 1837), Zacladus exiguus (Olivier, 1807) and the two new records for Turkey fauna, C. pyrrhorhynchus and G. moelleri, are new also records for both Edirne and Thrace Region. Furthermore the record of N. transcaucasicus in Edirne, is the first time for European Continent.The species appeared to be the most common in 44 localities sampled in the study, are respectively Ceutorhynchus erysimi (Fabricius, 1787) found in 15 localities, C. picitarsis Gyllenhal 1837 in 14 localities, C. contractus (Marsham, 1802) in 11 localities and C. obstrictus (Marsham, 1802) in 10 localities. Agricultural pest species determined in the present study are C. obstrictus (Marsham, 1802) and Ethelcus denticulatus (Schrank, 1781). C. turbatus Schultze 1903, which is used in bio-control applications against Cardaria draba L., a species serving as a reserve for pests of culture plants of Brassicaceae in Europe, was recorded in two localities in the studied region.The overall results of the present study increased the number of known Ceutorhynchinae taxa to 248 in Turkey with addition of the two new records and to 65 in Turkish Thrace Region with the 12 new records given for the region. 94

Augustinus tuberculatus Huang, Yoshitake & Zhang, sp. n., is described from Guizhou Province, southwestern China. The species is readily distinguishable from its congeners by the prothorax having five pairs of tubercles in addition to paired median prominences. We classify the species into a new species group, the A. tuberculatus group, based mainly on the basally convex rostrum, elytral interval 1 with a velvety black scaly patch in the basal 1/3, interval 3 with a large obtuse tubercle in the middle (with 1–3 rows of setiferous granules), the posterior margin of ventrite 2 angularly produced in the middle and the anterior and posterior margins of ventrite 4 equidistant along their entire length. A key to the species groups of Augustinus is provided.

Aphytobius sphaerion (Boheman, 1845), found on Melandrium album (Miller) Krause in the lower basin of the Don River, is recorded for the first time from Russia.

Homorosoma horridulum Voss 1958 (Curculionidae: Ceutorhynchinae) was described from Kuatun, China, based on two specimens in the J. Klapperich collection. Since that time it has been uninvestigated for more than half a century, except by Colonnelli (2004), who listed it in his world catalogue of the subfamily. The recent examination of the holotype of H. horridulum revealed that it should be placed in the genus Scleropteroides Colonnelli 1979. In addition, Scleropteroides specimens from Taiwan agree well with the holotype of H. horridulum not only in general appearance but also in male genital structures. Here we transfer Homorosoma horridulum Voss 1958 to the genus Scleropteroides Colonnelli 1979 as Scleropteroides horridulus (Voss 1958) and record the species from Taiwan for the first time.
