El fascinante legado del cineasta René Vautier (1928-2015) choca con la escasez de referencias académicas a su obra, a pesar de su inmenso valor histórico. Vautier es un exponente clave para ilustrar las fisuras del paradigma historiográfico actual, que excluye voces y opiniones cuyo rol es instrumental para reescribir la Historia. Llevó siempre al límite su pasión por la realidad y la verdad histórica, lo que derivó en una interminable lista de problemas institucionales. A través del caso de estudio del impacto social y artístico de su documental Un homme est mort, esta investigación indaga en las razones por las que hay artistas que han sido irrelevantes para la academia francesa, al mismo tiempo que los poderes establecidos perseguían su obra a través de peligrosas medidas que atacaban directamente a la libertad de expresión, como trabas legales, censura o recortes económicos. Estas políticas restrictivas derivaron en un empeoramiento sustancial de las condiciones de rodaje y en la autocensura y redujeron el impacto potencial en las audiencias, al quedar fuera del circuito de exhibición oficial. Además, dado que no existían oficialmente, estas películas no optan de manera automática a los programas de conservación pública. En definitiva, se produjo una alteración del marco conceptual que debería haberse generado a largo plazo en las relaciones entre arte y sociedad, entregándonos un imaginario cultural construido de espaldas a una parte esencial de la Historia (del arte). The captivating artistic legacy of René Vautier (1928-2015) clashes with the lack of research on the impact of his extraordinary career, given the notable value of his work. Vautier is a key example that illustrates the cracks in the schemas of traditional historiography, unable to recognise the plurality of voices and opinions that should be taken into account to rewrite History. The taste for reality and historical truth, taken to such extremes in his films, resulted in a long list of institutional problems. Through the analysis of the social and artistic impact of one of his very first films, Un homme est mort, we are able to understand why some artists were considered secondary or irrelevant by the French academia. The films were also persecuted by the Establishment with extremely dangerous measures in regard to freedom of expression such as legal constraints, censorship and financial cuts. These restrictive policies first led to lower quality filming material, smaller crews, fewer projects, or self-censorship; but the policies also resulted in an alternative exhibition circuit that diminished the scope of audiences. Furthermore, as they never existed officially these films do not benefit from public conservation programs automatically. In addition, the conceptual leap has been altered with long-term implications for art and society: Our common cultural imaginary has been built without significant pieces of (art) history, such as this.

- Abstract
In this article, the censorship against the Chilean working-class press in Chile between 1919 and 1925 will be analyzed in the context of the social question, the crisis of the oligarchy and the reconfiguration of the reppressive branch of the State. We consider as a hypothesis that governments favored the administrative-police censorship over judicial censorship, seeing the current legislation as insufficient in controling these media characterized as being "subversive". For this reason, in this time, it was built this way to create regulations that established controls and prohibitions unknown until then. To explain the censorship mechanics, we will focus on the procedures, agents and promoters of said censorship and the defense of freedom of expression carried out by the working-class press and we have used as sources the working-class and latest press, the parliamentary debate, the sentences, and the government files. La rebel·lió aragonesa del 1591 va generar en els anys posteriors al seu esclat un interessant corpus documental en el qual es poden distingir dos grups principals d’escrits. Els primers presenten una imatge degradada del regne, considerat rebel contra Felip II, i configuren una visió «antiaragonesa» de l’episodi. Els segons, com a rèplica, fan apologia de la fidelitat aragonesa i ofereixen una visió edulcorada del conflicte. Coneixem el contingut de totes dues interpretacions i les dificultats a què es van haver d’enfrontar els escrits a favor del regne, sotmesos a diferents censures que en van determinar la sort. En aquesta ocasió s’analitzarà la manera en què els autors d’aquests textos apologètics es van convertir en censors del seu propi treball i es reflexionarà sobre les raons que els van portar a exercir l’autocensura, com també sobre les conseqüències que l’esmentada pràctica va tenir sobre els seus escrits., The outbreak of the Aragonese rebellion of 1591 was followed by an interesting collection of writings which may be divided into two categories. The first of them presents a degrading picture of the kingdom, defined as rebellious against Philip II, and shapes an anti-Aragonese vision of the event. The second view is a response to the previous one, and defends the stalwart Aragonese loyalty, while offering a dulcified vision of the conflict. We know the contents of both interpretations and the difficulties which the writings favourable to the kingdom encountered due to the censorship coming from various instances deciding their fate. This paper intends to analyse the way in which the authors of these apologetic writings became the censors of their own work, and to reflect on both the reasons why they practised self-censorship, and the consequences that such an attitude had on their texts., La rebelión aragonesa de 1591 generó en los años posteriores a su estallido un interesante corpus documental en el que pueden distinguirse dos grupos principales de escritos. Los primeros presentan una imagen degradada del reino, considerado rebelde contra Felipe II, y configuran una visión «antiaragonesa» del episodio. Los segundos, como réplica, hacen apología de la inquebrantable fidelidad aragonesa y ofrecen una visión edulcorada del conflicto. Conocemos el contenido de ambas interpretaciones y las dificultades que hubieron de afrontar los escritos en favor del reino, sometidos a distintas censuras que determinaron su suerte. En esta ocasión se analizará el modo en que los autores de estos textos apologéticos se convirtieron en censores de su propio trabajo y se reflexionará sobre las razones que les llevaron a ejercer la autocensura, así como sobre las consecuencias que dicha práctica tuvo sobre sus escritos.

11. La censura de don Pedro de Neyla a los Comentarii de Traiano Boccalini

This article studies the fortune of Traiano Boccalini’s Comentarii sopra Cornelio Tacito at the Spanish court through the analysis of a fragment of this work censored by Pedro de Neyla, Bishop of Segovia, in 1644.The document that contains the Boccalinian text and the censorship of Neyla is a handwritten copy with substantial modifications to the text (made by his sons and heirs). In addition, a comparison between this document (Archivo de Simancas, leg. 3543-215) and the editio princeps of the Comentarii (1677) shows parallels and similarities with regards to the censorship applied to various passages of the text, which in turn reveals an ideological proximity between Neyla and the first Flemish printer of this work., Este artículo pretende ahond r en la fortuna de los Comentarii sopra Cornelio Tacito de Traiano Boccalini en la corte española a través del análisis de la censura que el obispo de Segovia, don Pedro de Neyla, hizo sobre un fragmento de este texto en 1644. El documento que conserva el texto boccaliniano y la censura de Neyla, conservado en el legajo 2543- 215 del Archivo General de Simancas, resulta ser una copia manuscrita que presenta modificaciones sustanciales respecto al texto del Lauretano, unos cambios que salieron de la mano de sus hijos y herederos. Asimismo, una comparación del documento conservado con la editio princeps de los Comentarii que apareció en 1677 descubre paralelismos y coincidencias en la censura de determinados pasajes, lo que revela la confluencia ideológica de Neyla con el primer impresor flamenco de la obra

This Master Dissertation is linked to the Research Line: Regional History , of Post-Graduation Program in History of the Paraíba Federal University, which has Historical Culture and History as its Area of Concentration. Our research have as objective to analyze above all, the use of the political censorship on protest music during the called shot years of the military dictatorship in Brazil. With this intent we have focused mainly on the judgments elaborated by the censors themselves, between 1969 and 1974, during the censure practice, to justify the vetos on the protest songs, censureds for having political protests opposite the political regime in vigour, established in Brazil by the militaries with the stroke of 1964. Therefore, we have tried to demonstrate that, besides the moral censorship which held in the country during the military dictatorship and that had been applied since the mid 40 s, also during that military regime themselves, there was a political censorship on the Brazilian popular music, wich acted with more vigour during the shot years and mainly on the protest music, which directioned more its contestations for the political situation in Brazil at that moment. Besides, no refuse wich happened in that period themselves a moral censorship on the popular music made in Brazil. Though, we have tried to show too that there was, at certain moments, an interconnection between the political and moral motivations for the censorship of determinates songs. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES Esta Dissertação de Mestrado está vinculada à Linha de Pesquisa: História Regional , do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, o qual tem como Área de Concentração: História e Cultura Histórica . Nossa pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar, sobretudo, o uso da censura política sobre a música de protesto durante os chamados anos de chumbo (1969-1974) da ditadura militar no Brasil. Com esse intuito nos detemos mais sobre os pareceres elaborados pelos próprios censores entre 1969 e 1974, quando da prática censória, para justificarem os vetos sobre as canções de protesto, censuradas por conterem protestos políticos contra o regime político vigente implantado no Brasil pelos militares com o golpe de 1964. Portanto, procuramos demonstrar que, além da censura moral que vigorava no país durante a ditadura militar, e que já vinha desde meados da década de 1940, também ocorreu, durante esse mesmo regime militar, uma censura política sobre a música popular brasileira, a qual atuou com mais vigor durante os anos de chumbo e principalmente sobre a música de protesto, que direcionava mais suas contestações para a situação política do Brasil naquele momento. Além disso, não negamos que tenha ocorrido nesse mesmo período uma censura moral sobre a música popular produzida no Brasil. Não obstante, também procuramos mostrar que havia, em certos momentos, uma interconexão entre as motivações políticas e morais para a censura de determinadas canções.
