Bu çalışma, Niğde yöresi peynirlerinde akar varlığının ortaya çıkarılması ve bölgenin akar enfestasyonu durumunun saptanması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla, Haziran-Kasım 2011 tarihleri arasında Niğde yöresinden toplam 226 adet peynir (61 adet kaşar ve 165 adet tulum) toplanmış ve akar varlığı yönünden incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda incelenen 226 adet peynir numunesinin 2 (%0.88)’sinde Acarus siro varlığı tespit edilmiştir. Acarus siro’nun yumurta, nimf ve erişkin dönemlerine rastlanmış olup larva dönemi ise belirlenememiştir. Akarların peynirlerdeki aylık prevalansı %0-2 arasında saptanmıştır. Aylara göre A. siro prevalansı, Ağustos ayında %2, Eylül ayında %1.85 olarak saptanmış buna karşılık çalışma yapılan diğer aylarda enfestasyon tespit edilmemiştir. Sonuç olarak, Niğde yöresi peynirlerinde akar varlığı ilk kez bu çalışma ile belirlenmiş ve incelenen peynirlerde %0.88 oranında akar saptanmıştır.

The study examines the presence of mites in 226 cheesesamples (61 Turkish kashar cheese samples and 165 tulum cheese samples) collected between Juneand November 2011. The results show that mites were detected in 2 (0.88%) out of 226 cheese samplestested. Monthly prevalence of mites was determined as between 0-2% in the cheeses. A prevalence wasonly detected in August (2%) and September (1.85%), whereas, in the other months infestation was notfound. In conclusion, this study is the first one to identify the prevalence of mites in the cheese ofNigde. Also, the rate of mites in the cheese examined was established as 0.88%.

WOS: 000294879500008, This study was conducted to determine the nutritive value of live yeast culture (RumiSacc, Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and to investigate its effects on milk yield, milk composition and some blood parameters in lactating cows. Six multiparous Holstein cows were allocated to two groups of three cows and assigned randomly to one of two diets in a cross-over experiment. Daily 50 g RumiSacc was top dressed at the p.m. feeding for the treatment group. RumiSacc supplied a high protein and energy with high organic matter digestibility values (83.35%) determined by in vitro enzymatic analysis. Yeast culture supplementation significantly increased milk yield, tended to increase fat yield, protein yield and lactose yield of milk. Methylated fatty acid level of 18:3 (n-3) in milk fat was increased by yeast culture supplementation. The concentrations of methionine, phenyalanine, tyrosine, tryptophan and taurine were significantly increased with dietary inclusion of yeast culture. Live yeast culture supplementation did not affect other performance characteristics, milk quality characteristics and blood parameters. As a conclusion live yeast culture (RumiSacc, Saccharomyces cerevisiae) had high nutritive value and positive effects on milk production and some milk quality characteristics in lactating cows under field conditions.

Bu araştırma, Niğde ve yöresinde tüketime sunulan salamura beyaz peynirlerden Listeria monocytogenes' in izo­lasyonu ve tanımlanması amacıyla yapıldı. Araştırmada Niğde ve yöresinde Haziran-Temmuz-2005 tarihleri arasında top­lanan 50 adet salamura beyaz peynir numunesi incelendi. İzolasyon çalışmalarında zenginleştirme besi yeri olarak Listeria Enrichment Broth Base (Oxoid, CM862), selektif besi yeri olarak Listeria Selective Agar Base (Oxoid, CM856) kullanıldı. Yapılan incelemeler sonucunda, 50 adet salamura beyaz peynir örneğinden, 3 tanesinde (%6) L.monocytogenes, 8 ta­nesinde (%16) L.ınnocua ve 2 tanesinde (%4) Lwelshimeri izole ve identifıye edildi. Sonuçta; salamura beyaz peynirlerde Lmonocytogenes'ln tesbit edilmesi ve minimum enfekte edici dozun bilinememesi nedeniyle, halk sağlığı açısından, po­tansiyel bir tehlike oluşturabileceği kanaatine varıldı., This investigation was carried out to isolate and identify the Lmonocytogenes from white pickled che­ese consumed in Niğde region. In this study, between June-2005, July-2005 50 samples of pickled white cheese were exa­mined in Niğde region. In isolation studies, Listeria Enrichment Broth Base (Oxoid, CM862) was used as enrichment broth and Listeria Selective Agar Base (Oxoid, CM856) was used to isolate the agent. Of 50 white pickled cheese samples, stra­ins of L.monocytogenes in 3 samples (6 %), L.innocula in 8 samples (16 %) and L.welshimeri n 2 samples (4 %) were iso­lated and identified. In conclusion, although what number of the bacteria through this route could infect the human is not known it is considered that there is a potential of transmission risk on the Public Health Issues, since L.monocytogenes was identified in white pickled cheese consumed in Niğde and its province.
