Abstract

The SWI/SNF complex is a chromatin remodeling complex comprised by several proteins such as SMARCA4 or SMARCB1. Mutations in its components can lead to the development of aggressive rhabdoid tumors such as epithelioid sarcoma, malignant rhabdoid tumor or small cell carcinoma of the ovary hypercalcemic type, among others. These malignancies tend to affect young patients and their prognosis is poor given the lack of effective treatments. Characteristically, these tumors are highly infiltrated by TILs, suggesting that some lymphocytes are recognizing tumor antigens. The use of those TILs as a therapeutic strategy is a promising approach worth exploring. Here, we report the clinical protocol of the TILTS study, a Phase II clinical trial assessing personalized adoptive cell therapy with TILs in patients affected by these tumor types. These tumors usually have rhabdoid features and tend to affect young patients. Patients affected by these malignancies have poor prognosis since there are no effective standard treatments. Tumors associated with alterations in the SWI/SNF complex are generally infiltrated by a high number of TILs that have been able to recognize a tumor antigen. The use of those TILs as a therapeutic strategy is a promising immunotherapy approach. The TILTS study The TILTS study is a clinical trial designed to assess the activity of adoptive cell therapy with TILs in these tumor types. The TILTS study is a prospective, single-arm, multicenter Phase II study that uses personalized TILs treatment in advanced tumors associated with alterations in the SWI/SNF complex. The primary end point is ORR per RECIST v1.1 as assessed by investigator. Secondary end points include toxicity evaluation, PFS and OS, among others. Abstract

Identifiable food remains were analyzed from 46 stomachs of striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba) stranded in southern Spain between 2007 and 2014. Results suggest that the species feeds mainly on mesopelagic and neritic fish, but also on oceanic squids. Fish species of the family Myctophidae were the main prey in terms of numerical importance and reconstructed prey weight (62% N and 29% W), followed by squids of the family Ommastrephidae (20% W) and bogue (Boops boops) (15% W). The most important prey taxa according to the General Importance Index (GII) were C. maderensis, Ommastrephidae gen. spp., Notoscopelus spp., and M. punctatum. Higher number of mesopelagic myctophids were found in dolphins from the Mediterranean (73% vs. 29% N), while more demersal gobiids and European hake (Merluccius merluccius) were found in those from the Atlantic (44% vs. 1% and 8% vs. <1% N), where a more varied diet was also observed. Differences were also seen in the seasonal importance of some prey, as well as between years, sexes, and maturity states. The diet composition suggests that most of feeding occurred in oceanic regions, during twilight and night hours, while the observed dietary variation may reflect differences in topography, and changes in the prey availability

Abstract

La reciente misión de la Organización del Tratado del Atlántico Norte (OTAN), la enhanced Forward Presence (eFP), deja constancia de la amenaza que representa Rusia para Occidente. España ha desplegado en Letonia, juntos a otros medios, una sección de carros de combate Leopardo 2E, con el objetivo de integrar un Battle Group para frenar una posible intervención de Moscú. Los carristas españoles se enfrentan así a un medio y unas condiciones climáticas hasta ahora poco habituales, que presentan una serie de problemas propios del terreno en que se desarrolla la operación. Al mismo tiempo, de una posible confrontación con los medios rusos se desprende la necesidad de analizar las ventajas y desventajas que presenta el carro de combate español frente a sus homólogos rusos. Así, a raíz de esta comparación se sacan unas vulnerabilidades que deben ser tratadas para tener el mismo nivel de operatividad que el adversario.Para ello se ha realizado una búsqueda de información bibliográfica en diversas fuentes, tanto abiertas como privadas, con el objetivo de recabar el máximo número de datos posible. Posteriormente se realizó una comparación entre medios blindados para detectar aquellas características fundamentales que no presenta el carro de combate español. Por último, se han realizado entrevistas al personal desplegado en la misión eFP Letonia para conocer los problemas más recurrentes detectados en esta zona de operaciones y poder encontrar soluciones a sus respuestas.Los resultados han sido claros, la mayoría de mejoras van dirigidas a mejorar la protección, la potencia de fuego y la movilidad. Por tanto, es una investigación necesaria para actualizar el Leopardo 2E en Europa del Este, permitiendo aumentar su operatividad, y eliminar las vulnerabilidades que presenta.
