Abstract

The carbocyclization methodology of bisnucleophiles by different palladium catalysts can be utilized to activate stannanes and malonate enolates orthogonally to form electrophiles. Data indicate that the palladium-catalyzed transmetalation of organostannanes with allyl carbonates and vinylepoxides occurs in the absence of ligands phosphines or arsines.

Abstract

Palladium catalyzes coupling reactions between acid chlorides and E-(1,2)-bis(tri-n-butylstannyl)ethene or beta-stannyl enones to produce butane-1,4-diones. The reaction involves reduction of an enedicarbonyl intermediate. Coupling reactions at low temperatures yield alpha, beta-unsaturated 1,4-diketones, and involve palladium hydride-promoted reduction. This method facilitates synthesis of two 1,4-diketone ipomeanines.

Abstract

Palladium catalyzes the coupling of (E)-1,2-bis(tri-n-butylstannyl)ethene, C2H2(Bu3Sn)2, with acid chlorides (RCOCl) to form symmetric 1,4-diketones. beta-Stannyl enones, derived from the reaction of C2H2(Bu3Sn)2 with RCOCl, yield unsymmetric 1, 4-diketones. Carried out in refluxing 1,4-dioxane, the reactions involve the reduction of an olefiinic dicarbonyl intermediate by a palladium hydride obtained from the beta-hydrogen elimination of an n-butylpalladium intermediate. The yields are 47-100%.

Abstract

The 1,4-oxidation of a coordinated diene takes place through an intramolecular C-C bond formation catalyzed by Pd(II). The allylsilanes act as carbon nucleophiles during their addition to the coordinated diene and function as marked carbanions. The use of cyclohexadiene derivatives facilitates good yield and selectivity during this addition of allylsilanes to metal coordinated dienes.
