The aim of this study was to evaluate a novel clinical sequence to improve the resin–dentin microtensile bond strength (μTBS) to endodontically treated teeth.Twenty human molars were distributed in four experimental groups (n = 5, N = 20): C—control group without exposure to any endodontic chemical substances (2.5% sodium hypochlorite, 17% EDTA and endodontic cement); LDh—late dentin hybridization (Dh) with Dh at the time of final restoration, after exposure to chemical substances; IPDS—immediate pre‐endodontic dentin sealing, with Dh before exposure to chemical substances; and PLDh—late Dh after exposure to chemical substances and after dentin repreparation with ultrasonic diamond tip. Teeth were restored with resin composite and the microtensile test was performed after 24 h.The highest bond strength values were found in the PLDh, IPDS, and C groups, without statistically significant differences among them. The lowest value was found in the LDh group. The LDh group presented a decrease of 70% when compared with the control group.The resin–dentin microtensile bond strength was significantly improved by dentin hybridization before exposure to chemicals used during endodontics. Otherwise, substantial dentin repreparation is necessary to restore the bond strength after this exposure.Early dentin hybridization (IPDS) before endodontic treatment not only improves the microtensile bond strength to dentin but also omitting this procedure would require significant repreparation of the exposed dentin after endodontic treatment to restore the bond strength. Hence, it allows the preservation of healthy tooth structure (no need for repreparation), as well as the reinforcement of weakened cusps and improvement of isolation (if combined with deep margin elevation, when necessary). One of the major threats to biodiversity is changing fire regimes, particularly increasingly frequent fires, especially during the dry season. However, studies on the direct and indirect effects of fire on biotic responses in aquatic ecosystems are still scarce. In this study, we investigated how water quality and phytoplankton community structure were affected by different ash concentrations from burning vegetation of a tropical savanna.We used a microcosm experiment to simulate the aquatic ecosystem with different ash concentration scenarios and evaluated the water quality and the composition, richness and density of phytoplankton over time.We found increased total phosphorus and ammoniacal nitrogen concentrations after ash addition, in addition to changes in electrical conductivity. We identified 242 phytoplankton taxa throughout the experiment and identified changes in species composition among treatments. We identified changes in the taxonomic richness of total phytoplankton, green algae and desmids over time. The density of total phytoplankton, diatoms, green algae, desmids and cyanobacteria also changed over time.Our results suggest that ash from terrestrial fires affects water quality and phytoplankton communities depending on the proportion of ash input. Our results serve as a basis for further investigations of the effects of fire on abiotic conditions in aquatic ecosystems and their communities over long periods of time. To analyze the accuracy of clinical indicators of nursing diagnosis, Imbalanced nutrition: less than the body requirements in pediatric patients undergoing chemotherapy. A cross-sectional study was carried out in a pediatric oncohematology unit. A total of 123 children aged 5–18 years were evaluated. The Standards for Reporting Diagnostic Accuracy Studies (STARD) protocol was used. Latent class analysis was performed to obtain sensitivity and specificity of clinical indicators. The diagnosis was identified in six children (5.23%). The most frequent clinical indicator in the study was report of food intake less than recommended daily allowance (n = 61; 49.6%), followed by excessive hair loss (n = 49; 39.8%), misperception (n = 42; 34.1%), satiety immediately upon ingesting food (n = 32; 26%), lack of information (n = 30; 24.4%), and pale mucous membranes (n = 22; 17.9%). The 10 indicators that sensitivity and specificity were statistically superior to 50% were food intake less than recommended daily allowance, misperception, insufficient interest in food, lack of food, hyperactive bowel sounds, body weight 20% or more below ideal weight range, insufficient muscle tone, food aversion, abdominal cramping, and misinformation. The clinical indicators Food intake less than recommended daily allowance and Misperception can be considered the most important indicators for the initial inference of the diagnosis due to their high values of specificity and sensitivity. It is essential that nurses provide targeted and qualified assistance based on the signs and symptoms presented by patients, as they will be able to design appropriate interventions to obtain the desired results. Background: To analyze through finite element analysis the stress distribution in peri-implant bone tissues, implants, and prosthetic components induced by the socket shield (SS) technique in comparison to other techniques used to treat tooth loss. Materials and Methods: A three-dimensional model of a superior central incisor crown supported by implant was modeled and three different placement conditions were simulated: SS - 2.0-mm-thick root dentin fragment positioned between the alveolar buccal wall and implant; heterologous bone graft (HBG) - bovine bone graft positioned the alveolar buccal wall and implant; and control (C) - implant fully placed in bone tissue of a healed alveolus. The model was restricted at the lateral surfaces of the bone tissue and the following loads were simulated: Both oblique (45°) loads of 100 N on the lingual surface of the crown (maximal habitual intercuspation) and 25.5 N on the incisal edge of the crown (tooth contact during mandibular protrusion) were simultaneously applied. Tensile stress, shear stress, compression, and displacement were analyzed in the cortical bone, trabecular bone, dentin root fragment, and bone graft; while equivalent von Mises stresses were quantified in the implant and prosthetic components. Results: Stress values of SS and HBG in the bone tissues were higher than C, while slight differences within models were observed for dentin root fragment, bone graft, implant, and prosthetic components. The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic review of the scientific literature on aquatic ecosystem services. We used the Web of Science database for our research. We found a total of 1,367 articles, with 837 papers that studied ecosystem services provided through the interaction between terrestrial and aquatic environments (terrestrial–aquatic papers) and 530 papers relating only to aquatic environments. Despite the growing number of articles, there is still less research on aquatic environments compared to terrestrial environments. We found a correlation between types of services and taxonomic groups, such that supporting ecosystem services were investigated using mainly macroinvertebrate, microorganisms and aquatic macrophytes communities, while provisioning and cultural ecosystem services were frequently studied with fishes. The analysis of keywords revealed that there was a temporal shift in the terms studied, and some words presented a higher frequency in aquatic research. Nonetheless, other words appeared in aquatic and terrestrial–aquatic studies with similar frequencies. The trends and biases detected in the present paper can help us to understand the role of aquatic biodiversity in ecosystem services more fully in the future as well as assist in the creation of strategies for future studies on the conservation of these services.
