Genotype x environment (GxE) interaction is an important source of variation in soybean yield, which can significantly influence selection in breeding programs. This study aimed to select superior soybean genotypes for performance and yield stability, from data from multienvironment trials (METs), through GGE biplot analysis that combines the main effects of the genotype (G) plus the genotype-by-environment (G×E) interaction. As well as, through path analysis, determine the direct and indirect influences of yield components on soybean grain yield, as a genotype selection strategy. Waste is a environmental problem. Waste generation increases exponentially, and the management to minimize environmental impacts. The launch of the 17 (SDGs), by the U.N., aimed to mobilize to implement public policies based on the pillars of sustainability. At (studied company) routines of research laboratorial activities, farms and administrative areas generate waste. We evaluated the waste management at the (studied company) research institution. We applied methodologies for a comprehensive view. Gravimetric method for characterization of waste in each category. Monitoring of waste generator points resulted in the diagnosis of waste separation. The methodology of the Discourse of the Collective Subject was used to understand the perception of employees. We development the SWOT matrix, to identify the factors that affect the waste management. We understand and rank the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and they can be used for the development of management. RESUMO - O lixo é um problema ambiental. A geração de resíduos aumenta exponencialmente, e a gestão minimiza os impactos ambientais. O lançamento dos 17 (ODS), pela ONU, teve como objetivo mobilizar para a implementação de políticas públicas baseadas nos pilares da sustentabilidade. Nas rotinas de atividades laboratoriais de pesquisa, fazendas e áreas administrativas geram resíduos (empresa estudada). Avaliou-se a gestão de resíduos em uma instituição de pesquisa. Aplicou-se metodologias para uma visão abrangente. Método gravimétrico para caracterização de resíduos em cada categoria. O monitoramento dos pontos geradores de resíduos resultou no diagnóstico da separação de resíduos. A metodologia do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo (DSC) foi utilizada para compreender a percepção dos funcionários. Desenvolveu-se uma matriz SWOT, para identificar os fatores que afetam a gestão de resíduos. This work compared the mechanisms of adsorption of carotenes from hybrid palm oil onto two kinds of bleaching earths widely used by industrial refiners (acid-activated and neutral). First, it was performed a deep characterization of adsorbent surfaces: acid activated adsorbent showed micropore volumes twice larger than the neutral. FTIR analysis of adsorbent after adsorption demonstrated that active site was Si?O?Si for both adsorbents. However, comparison of peak shapes suggested distinctive interactions between adsorbent/adsorbate for each adsorbent. Latterly, an extensive kinetic and equilibrium study was performed. Kinetic data were in accordance with pseudo-first and pseudo-second-order models. Adjusting to the intra-particle diffusion model evidenced more than one mechanism controlling the adsorption process. Equilibrium data demonstrated adsorption is only favorable at low carotene concentration at liquid phase for acid adsorbent (lower than 1 mg/mL). For neutral adsorbent, it was not clearly observed a favorable region with the studied conditions. The acid adsorbent could adsorb more carotenes per adsorbent weight than neutral. Finally, neutral adsorbent showed higher heterogeneity of interaction between adsorbate and adsorbent than the acid, especially at low adsorbent coverages. Cowpea is a crop that has become socio-economically relevant, mainly in developing countries. Correlation studies are important to determine the association between quantitative traits and yield to guide the selection, i.e., choose direct or indirect selection. The objective was to estimate the correlations between six agronomic traits in cowpea as well as the correlations between the estimates of combining abilities of parents. Genotypes with high pod weight and pod length, 100-grain weight, and number of beans per pod should be used to improve grain yield in cowpea. The breeder should preferably insert plants into his group of crosses that have a high combining ability for pod length, number of grains per pod and yield per plot.

Fitoterápico é uma classe de medicamento largamente utilizada no país e constitui um mercado em potencial expansão. Este artigo busca traçar um panorama sobre os medicamentos fitoterápicos registrados no país e as espécies vegetais que lhe deram origem, enfocando o papel regulador da Anvisa. Realizou-se uma pesquisa nas seguintes bases de dados: Visalegis e site da Anvisa para verificar os medicamentos fitoterápicos registrados na Anvisa, obtendo-se os seguintes dados: há 432 fitoterápicos simples registrados e 80 compostos, as espécies vegetais com maior número de derivados registrados são o Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) e a Castanha da Índia (Aesculus hippocastanum), com 33 e 29 registros, respectivamente. O artigo traz ainda uma tabela com as espécies vegetais que possuem derivados registrados como fitoterápicos simples, sua classificação terapêutica, lista as espécies registradas em associação, as principais formas farmacêuticas registradas e os percentuais de registro e empresas por região do país, fornecendo assim um panorama da atuação da Anvisano setor de fitoterápicos. Herbal medicines are widely used in Brazil and constitute a market in potential expansion. This article explains the situation on herbal medicines registration in Brazil plant species, focusing on the regulatory role of Anvisa. The research was realized in the Visalegis and site of Anvisa databases to verify the herbal medicines registered in Anvisa, resulting in the following data: there are 432 simple herbal medicines (composed by one medicinal plant) registered and 80 compound herbal medicine (more than one plant), the plants species with the largest number of registered derivatives are the Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) and the Castanha da Índia (Aesculus hippocastanum), with 33 and 29 records, respectively. The article also brings a table with the plant species registered as simple herbal medicines, the main pharmaceutical forms registered and data about companies that produces herbal medicines.
