Abstract

Tesis (Odontología) La rehabilitación con prótesis parcial removible, genera distintas modificaciones físicas en el ecosistema bucal. Entre las cuales se puede mencionar el pH y flujo salival, este último aumenta fisiológicamente durante la masticación, mientras que en reposo disminuye. En cuanto al pH salival, el equilibrio lo mantiene un mecanismo llamado capacidad tamponante de la saliva. En este estudio cuantificaremos el impacto que provoca la rehabilitación protésica parcial removibles en el medio bucal por medio del flujo y pH salival. Objetivo: Evaluar la influencia de una prótesis removible en el medio bucal. Materiales y métodos: La muestra fue un grupo de 30 pacientes, entre 30 a 70 años, sanos, que nunca hayan usado prótesis y que serán rehabilitados con prótesis removibles. Se compararon dos muestras de saliva no estimulada, la primera se obtuvo el día de la instalación protésica y la segunda a los siete días después, donde se midió el flujo y pH salival. Resultado: La rehabilitación con prótesis removible no cambia el flujo ni el pH salival en forma estadísticamente significativa. El tipo de prótesis metálica o acrílica no modifica el flujo ni el pH salival de forma significativa. Conclusión: La instalación de prótesis parcial removible no influye en forma significativa en el flujo ni el pH salival. El tipo de prótesis parcial removible (metálica o acrílica) no influye significativamente en el flujo ni el pH salival. Partial removable prostheses rehabilitation generates distinct physical modifications in the oral ecosystem. Can be mentioned among these the pH and salivary flow, this last physiologically increases during mastication, while resting decreases. As for the salivary pH, the balance it is maintained by a mechanism called buffering capacity of saliva. This study quantifies the impact caused by the partial removable prostheses rehabilitation in the oral environment through flow and salivary pH. Objective: Evaluate the influence of removable prostheses in the oral environment. Methods and Materials: The sample was a group of 30 patients, between 30 and 70 years old, healthy, who had never used prostheses and will be rehabilitated with removable prostheses. Two samples of unstimulated saliva were compared; the first sample was obtained during the day of the prostheses installation and the second sample taken seven days later, where the pH and salivary flow was measured. Results: Removable prostheses rehabilitation does not change the flow nor the salivary pH in a significant statistically way. The type of metallic or acrylic prostheses does not modify the flow and salivary pH significantly. Conclusion: The installation of partial removable prostheses does not affect the flow or salivary pH significantly. The type of partial prostheses (metallic or acrylic) does not significantly influence the flow or salivary pH.

39. Techno-economic evaluation of a vehicle to home and time of use tariff scheme to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in Chile

Abstract

Despite the accelerated adoption of the Electric Vehicle (EV) on a global scale, Chile reports a marginal adoption among non-commercial users of passenger cars (NCUPC), which can be attributed to the lack of subsidies to cover the upfront cost of EVs. This paper proposes and evaluates a strategy that integrates a Time-of-Use (TOU) tariff with Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) operation to promote EV adoption without requiring subsidies or significant investments in grid infrastructure. The study uses technical data to estimate residential electric consumption patterns, battery charging/discharging profiles, and operating conditions of V2H, considering different scenarios to calculate economic metrics using a differential cash flow. The annual traveled distance is used as a metric for comparative analysis, being captured for each scenario when the Internal Return Rate (IRR) equals the 7% discount rate that defines the economic balance. Results show that integrating TOU and V2H reduces the annual traveled distance required to get economic balance by up to 13% compared with the current scenario. Moreover, when considering plausible forecasts of gas and EV upfront cost, the annual traveled distance can be further reduced by up to 31.6% and 50%, respectively, making EVs economically viable for a broader range of current users of combustion vehicles.
