Esta investigación analiza la gestión comunicativa de la Vuelta a Asturias, una de las competiciones ciclistas más antiguas del calendario español, incluida en la categoría UCI Europe Tour 2.1. El estudio describe la gestión informativa tanto de la prensa especializada como de equipos ciclistas y organización. Se realizó una triangulación de métodos, partiendo de una revisión bibliográfica, para efectuar a continuación un análisis de contenido de las informaciones publicadas en El Comercio, La Nueva España, Marca y Ciclismo a Fondo durante los días previos y el transcurso de la edición de 2021. Los resultados de estas dos primeras fases sirvieron para realizar una serie de entrevistas a profesionales dela comunicación encargados de la organización y difusión de la prueba asturiana. De este modo, se ha podido describir, por un lado, cómo es la gestión de la comunicación desde los propios equipos ciclistas y la organización de la prueba, y por otro, cómo se realiza la cobertura de este evento por parte de los periodistas encargados de estas labores especializadas. Se detectó una aplicación rápida y progresiva de las nuevas tecnologías por parte de periodistas y departamentos de comunicación, un creativo proceso dedesintermediación informativa por parte de los equipos ciclistas, la importancia de generar procesos de identificación y el patrocinio deportivo como pieza informativa clave.

We are all consumers. Life is only possible because of consuming. The act of consuming can be defined as the breaking down of natural or artificial structures to satisfy biological or cultural needs; is among the farthest reaching of human activities (Csikszentmihalyi 2012). Today, the act of consuming could empower consumers to adopt conscious, ethical and responsible criteria in the daily routine to improve the consumption and get a personal and collective life, more based in freedom, fair, loyal and happiness (Martínez 2005). In this way the Transformative Consumer Research (TCR) is an initiative among researches committed to studying the role that consumption plays in the major social problems of daily consumption, among them obesity, addictions, materialism, hunger, homeless, and poverty (Ozanne, et al 2011). Inspired on TCR and the ethnoconsumer (Venkatesh 2013), the focus of this paper is an exploratory qualitative research with the main objective of showing how the Social Representation of Mexican responsible consumer is focused on shopping at small groups of local producers. The attitudes, interests and opinions will be identified in this first step through point-of-sale open interviews with responsible consumers, with local products offered in Guadalajara and Queretaro urban cities. The information gathered will be analyzed using an inductive method for defining preliminary categories, while using the analysis software Atlas Ti for mapping conceptual networks. This study aims to provide assumptions and variables for further study on transforming consumption.

Background The optimal time to intubate patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia has not been adequately determined. While the use of non-invasive respiratory support before invasive mechanical ventilation might cause patient-self-induced lung injury and worsen the prognosis, non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is frequently used to avoid intubation of patients with acute respiratory failure (ARF). We hypothesized that delayed intubation is associated with a high risk of mortality in COVID-19 patients. Methods This is a secondary analysis of prospectively collected data from adult patients with ARF due to COVID-19 admitted to 73 intensive care units (ICUs) between February 2020 and March 2021. Intubation was classified according to the timing of intubation. To assess the relationship between early versus late intubation and mortality, we excluded patients with ICU length of stay (LOS) Results We included 4,198 patients [median age, 63 (54‒71) years; 71% male; median SOFA (Sequential Organ Failure Assessment) score, 4 (3‒7); median APACHE (Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation) score, 13 (10‒18)], and median PaO2/FiO2 (arterial oxygen pressure/ inspired oxygen fraction), 131 (100‒190)]; intubation was considered very early in 2024 (48%) patients, early in 928 (22%), and late in 441 (10%). ICU mortality was 30% and median ICU stay was 14 (7‒28) days. Mortality was higher in the “late group” than in the “early group” (37 vs. 32%, p Conclusions Early intubation within the first 24 h of ICU admission in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia was found to be an independent protective risk factor of mortality. Background: During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, different clinical phenotypes were published. However, none of them have been validated in subsequent waves, so their current validity is unknown. The aim of the study is to validate the unsupervised cluster model developed during the first pandemic wave in a cohort of critically ill patients from the second and third pandemic waves. Methods: Retrospective, multicentre, observational study of critically ill patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease and acute respiratory failure admitted from 74 Intensive Care Units (ICU) in Spain. To validate our original phenotypes model, we assigned a phenotype to each patient of the validation cohort using the same medoids, the same number of clusters (n= 3), the same number of variables (n= 25) and the same discretisation used in the development cohort. The performance of the classification was determined by Silhouette analysis and general linear modelling. The prognostic models were validated, and their performance was measured using accuracy test and area under curve (AUC)ROC. Results: The database included a total of 2,033 patients (mean age 63[53-92] years, 1643(70.5%) male, median APACHE II score (12[9-16]) and SOFA score (4[3-6]) points. The ICU mortality rate was 27.2%. Although the application of unsupervised cluster analysis classified patients in the validation population into 3 clinical phenotypes. Phenotype A (n=1,206 patients, 59.3%), phenotype B (n=618 patients, 30.4%) and phenotype C (n=506 patients, 24.3%), the characteristics of patients within each phenotype were significantly different from the original population. Furthermore, the silhouette coefficients were close to or below zero and the inclusion of phenotype classification in a regression model did not improve the model performance (accuracy =0.78, AUC=0.78) with respect to a standard model (accuracy = 0.79, AUC=0.79) or even worsened when the model was applied to patients within each phenotype (accuracy = 0.80, AUC 0.77 for Phenotype A, accuracy=0.73, AUC= 0.67 for phenotype B and accuracy= 0.66 , AUC= 0.76 for phenotype C ) Conclusion: Models developed using machine learning techniques during the first pandemic wave cannot be applied with adequate performance to patients admitted in subsequent waves without prior validation. Se ha descrito cómo los partidos denominados “emergentes” han venido desplegando una actividad digital más eficaz que la de los partidos “tradicionales”. El principal objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la evolución de las interacciones que recibieron las páginas de Facebook de Podemos, Ciudadanos y Vox durante la campaña de las elecciones generales de 2015, 2016 y 2019, comparativamente con las de los partidos tradicionales PSOE y PP. Para ello, se capturaron automatizadamente todos los mensajes publicados por estas cinco formaciones durante estas tres campañas electorales, siendo después analizados estadísticamente. Se detectó un engagement notablemente superior de los usuarios de las redes de los nuevos partidos respecto a los tradicionales, describiéndose cómo el número de interacciones con las nuevas formaciones políticas fue máximo en las elecciones en las que consiguieron representación nacional por primera vez, para descender escalonadamente después. Se comprobó así una transitoria consistencia del compromiso digital que manifiestan los seguidores de partidos emergentes en redes sociales, ligada a su periodo de irrupción en el tablero político.

Las aguas residuales provenientes de la industria de curtiembre, presentan elevadas concentraciones de metales pesados, especialmente de cromo (Cr), así como también, de otros componentes como Nitritos, Nitratos, Fosfatos, Sulfatos, que de no ser tratados previa a su descarga puede alterar gravemente la calidad de los cuerpos de agua superficiales. De manera que, un tratamiento alternativo a estos efluentes industriales, se ha venido proponiendo en diversas investigaciones. En tal sentido, el objetivo de este trabajo fue realizar una revisión bibliográfica detallada sobre la utilización de microalgas para tratar aguas residuales procedentes de curtiembres. Para lo cual, se analizaron 42 trabajos de entre artículo científicos y tesis con index internacional todos ellos relacionados al tema de trabajo. Tras el análisis, las microalgas más utilizadas en los procesos de biorremediación en este tipo de industria son: Scenedesmus sp, Espirulina sp, Chlorella sp, Tetraselmis sp, y Pseudochlorella sp., importantes por su alta eficiencia en la remoción de Cromo, y otros elementos contaminantes; donde, los géneros Scenedesmus y Espirulina demostraron una eficiencia mayor al 85% de remoción de Cr, seguido por Chlorella y Pseudochlorella (>60%). En la remoción de nitratos y nitritos, el género Scenedesmus, mostró mejores niveles de remoción (90%), seguido por Chlorella y Pseudochlorella (65%). Con respecto a la remoción de Fostatos y Sulfatos, los géneros Chlorella y Pseudochlorella fueron el tipo de alga que demostró un nivel de remoción del 100%, seguidos por Tetraselmis, Scenedesmus y Tetraselmis (>95%). Este consorcio de micro algas podrían ser buenas alternativas a los métodos de tratamiento convencionales para la industria del cuero.

El mundo del deporte ha aplicado las nuevas tecnologías desde su misma aparición, lo que ha conllevado un proceso profundo de cambio, modernización y profesionalización. En este contexto, la comunicación se ha convertido en un factor clave para la gestión eficiente de las organizaciones deportivas. Como resultado de una revisión sistemática de la literatura en castellano, se destacó cómo conseguir los objetivos de la entidad deportiva demanda actualmente una planificación integral de todo el proceso de la comunicación, con especial atención tanto a la comunicación interna como a la comunicación de retorno o interacción con los públicos propios de la organización deportiva.

We aimed to assess the clinical effect of corticosteroids on intensive care unit (ICU) mortality among mechanically ventilated COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients. Methods This was a retrospective study of prospectively collected data conducted in 70 ICUs (68 Spanish, one Andorran, one Irish), including mechanically ventilated COVID-19-associated ARDS patients admitted between February 6 and September 20, 2020. Individuals who received corticosteroids for refractory shock were excluded. Patients exposed to corticosteroids at admission were matched with patients without corticosteroids through propensity score matching. Primary outcome was all-cause ICU mortality. Secondary outcomes were to compare in-hospital mortality, ventilator-free days at 28 days, respiratory superinfection and length of stay between patients with corticosteroids and those without corticosteroids. We performed survival analysis accounting for competing risks and subgroup sensitivity analysis. Results We included 1835 mechanically ventilated COVID-19-associated ARDS, of whom 1117 (60.9%) received corticosteroids. After propensity score matching, ICU mortality did not differ between patients treated with corticosteroids and untreated patients (33.8% vs. 30.9%; p = 0.28). In survival analysis, corticosteroid treatment at ICU admission was associated with short-term survival benefit (HR 0.53; 95% CI 0.39–0.72), although beyond the 17th day of admission, this effect switched and there was an increased ICU mortality (long-term HR 1.68; 95% CI 1.16–2.45). An analysis on the species richness distribution of marine sharks and batoids for the Colombian Caribbean and Pacific regions was carried out. A total of 138 species was documented in nearby marine waters off Colombia, including 76 sharks and 62 batoids; 20 species occurred on both coasts with the Caribbean generally having a higher observed richness than the Pacific. The Caribbean had high richness values both in the insular as well as in the northern region. However, the highest richness values per spatial unit in the Pacific islands of Gorgona and Malpelo, with completeness richness estimate represented mostly by values below 90%. Richness estimators showed values higher than the observed richness, indicating that the inventories and the description of marine shark and batoid richness in Colombia are still incomplete. Despite this, the results of this study are relevant to make decisions aimed at the conservation of this taxonomic group, both in marine protected and unprotected areas of the Pacific and Caribbean coasts of Colombia

Background Optimal time to intubate patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia is controversial. Whereas some authors recommend trying noninvasive respiratory support before intubate, others argue that delaying intubation can cause patient-self-induced lung injury and worsen the prognosis. We hypothesized that delayed intubation would increase the risk mortality in COVID-19 patients.Methods This preplanned retrospective observational study used prospectively collected data from adult patients with COVID-19 and respiratory failure admitted to 73 intensive care units between February 2020 and March 2021. Patients with limitations on life support and those with missing data were excluded. We collected demographic, laboratory, clinical variables and outcomes. Intubation was classified as 1) Very early: before or at ICU admission; 2) Early: < 24 hours after ICU admission; or 3) Late: ≥24 hours after ICU admission. We compared the early group versus those intubated late, using chi-square tests for categorical variables and the Mann-Whitney U for continuous variables. To assess the relationship between early versus late intubation and mortality, we used multivariable binary logistic regression. Hotspots identification can be used to establish protected or priority areas for conservation at different geographic scales. We aimed to determine if San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina Archipelago could be considered as a hotspot of elasmobranch diversity within the Greater Caribbean. For that, we updated the elasmobranch species richness and analyze its distribution pattern, evaluated the assembly structure and composition and estimated the occurrence probability of the more abundant species of the Archipelago. A total of 46 species, 33 of sharks and 13 of batoids were recorded, with 8 categorized as threatened by IUCN. Quadrants of San Andres and Providencia islands presented the highest richness with 16 species. Oceanic environments differed significantly in composition and abundance from the other four large areas evaluated. Northern banks were the most favorable environments for large-sized pelagic sharks while San Andres and Providencia Islands were for batoids; this difference could be due to the pelagic and benthic habits, respectively, and their relation with availability of substrate, food and sheltered areas. Our study confirmed that the Archipelago has at least 21% of the total richness of the northwestern Atlantic region, 43% of that of the Greater Caribbean and 49% of that registered in the Colombian Caribbean Coast, suggesting that the Archipelago is a potential richness hotspot in the Caribbean region. This high elasmobranch diversity could be due, among others, to its status as a Biosphere Reserve, to its high diversity of habitats and more recently to the establishment of the shark fishing ban.

Los inmigrantes se observan como mercados emergentes que impactan en la escena cultural, económica, social y política debido al intercambio de experiencias que ocurre. La aculturación del consumidor se utiliza para comprender y describir la adquisición de habilidades y conocimientos relevantes para asumir o no una nueva cultura. El artículo presenta una revisión de tres modelos de aculturación de los consumidores con el objetivo de entender cómo éstos se comportan en un nuevo mercado. ABSTRACT: Immigrants are considered emerging markets that impact the cultural, economic, social and political scene, due to the exchange of experiences. Consumer Acculturation is used to understand and describe the acquisition of relevant skills and assume or deny a new culture or knowledge. This paper presents a review of three models of acculturation of consumers in order to understand how they behave in a new market.

Gasification, coming from combustion processes of lignocellulosic material, is a practical alternative to produce energy; therefore, obtaining non-forestry raw materials becomes a challenge for the energy sector. This is how the quality of the flow of input material plays a key role in the design, process and optimization of a gasifier. For the above reason, this project evaluated the potential of moisture content, ash, volatile material and fixed carbon of agricultural waste of Porva corn given the availability of these, after the harvest. The field and laboratory tests are carried out in the Fundación Universitaria Agraria de Colombia – UNIAGRARIA, carrying out the harvest until the grain maturation (168 days after sowing). For this, it was taken into account that the seeds, before sowing, had been treated with electromagnetic fields at intensities of L1-23 µT, L2-70 µT and L3-118 µT, artificially created from electronic circuits (voltage sources, capacitors, resistors, coils, switches and semiconductors, etc.) connected together. Humidity was determined with the use of Standard D3173-87, volatile material with Standard D3175-89 (02), ash with Standard D3172-89 (02) and ignition of fixed carbon with the use of Standard 3172- 89 (02); the latter, considered as the part that is not volatile and burns in the solid state of lignocellulosic material, establishing the difference between the sum of the residual moisture, ash and volatile material and 100. The data analysis was performed in the Statgraphics 5.1 Plus statistical package, performing a simple variance analysis and a multiple range test. The comparative analysis of the variables shows a statistically significant increase in the content of Fixed Carbon at the level of corn bracts (elote) higher than 11%, surpassing the control and the rest of the treatments; furthermore, the control of the tusa obtained an atypical value of 0.72% in contrast to all the combinations. The above results are in agreement with what was indicated for the % humidity (the lowest content was presented in the bracts of the cob, in the fruits of plants treated with L1 with 27%), the ash content (the most high were presented in the raw materials of plants treated with L1 and L2 in the bracts of the cob and L2 and L3 in the Tusa, not differing among them but with respect to the rest of the treatments that exceed 3%) and the content of volatile compounds (the highest content was in the Tusa of the plants treated with L1 was present, exceeding 60% and differing significantly with the rest of the treatments).

Worldwide there are 7.5 billion population, and 16% of this people does not have electricity service, therfore they use fossil fuels to heat and light their homes. The high energy consumption at world, causes a high pollution in general of the earth and atmosphere, with serious results for the ecosystems, the health of the people and the climate, due to the main sources of energy used are Non-Renewable. The solar energy is directly used by green plants and other photosynthetic organisms, capable of capturing solar energy, transforming it into chemical energy and storing it. This natural process is called photosynthesis and consists of converting solar energy, water and carbon dioxide into carbohydrates and oxygen that act as nutrients for plants. The photosynthesis process technology is based on a biological generator that obtains electricity from the decomposition of organic substances extracted naturally from plants. It do it by releasing electrons and H2O in the process, without causing damage to any living organism. This project allows to identify new ways to generate clean energies, as well as the investigation of sustainable alternative energies.

Background: The identification of factors associated with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) mortality and derived clinical phenotypes in COVID-19 patients could help for a more tailored approach to clinical decision-making that improves prognostic outcomes. Methods: Prospective, multicenter, observational study of critically ill patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease and acute respiratory failure admitted from 63 Intensive Care Units(ICU) in Spain. The objective was to utilize an unsupervised clustering analysis to derive clinical COVID-19 phenotypes and to analyze patient’s factors associated with mortality risk. Patient features including demographics and clinical data at ICU admission were analyzed. Generalized linear models were used to determine ICU morality risk factors. The prognostic models were validated and their performance was measured using accuracy test, sensitivity, specificity and ROC curves. Results: The database included a total of 2,022 patients (mean age 64[IQR5-71] years, 1423(70.4%) male, median APACHE II score (13[IQR10-17]) and SOFA score (5[IQR3-7]) points. The ICU mortality rate was 32.6%. Of the 3 derived phenotypes, the A(mild) phenotype (537;26.7%) included older age (65 years), high severity of illness and a higher likelihood of development shock. Crude ICU mortality was 20.3%, 25% and 45.4% for A, B and C phenotype respectively. The ICU mortality risk factors and model performance differed between whole population and phenotype classifications.Conclusion: The presented machine learning model identified three clinical phenotypes that significantly correlated with host-response patterns and ICU mortality. Different risk factors across the whole population and clinical phenotypes were observed which may limit the application of a “one-size-fits-all” model in practice.

Early detection of patients vulnerable to infections acquired in the hospital environment is a challenge in current health systems given the impact that such infections have on patient mortality and healthcare costs. This work is focused on both the identification of risk factors and the prediction of healthcare-associated infections in intensive-care units by means of machine-learning methods. The aim is to support decision making addressed at reducing the incidence rate of infections. In this field, it is necessary to deal with the problem of building reliable classifiers from imbalanced datasets. We propose a clustering-based undersampling strategy to be used in combination with ensemble classifiers. A comparative study with data from 4616 patients was conducted in order to validate our proposal. We applied several single and ensemble classifiers both to the original dataset and to data preprocessed by means of different resampling methods. The results were analyzed by means of classic and recent metrics specifically designed for imbalanced data classification. They revealed that the proposal is more efficient in comparison with other approaches.

Objetivo Conocer la epidemiología y evolución al alta de los pacientes oncológicos que precisan ingreso en UCI. Diseño Estudio descriptivo observacional de datos del registro ENVIN-HELICS combinado con variables registradas específicamente. Se comparan pacientes con y sin neoplasia. Se identifican grupos de pacientes neoplásicos con peor evolución. Ámbito UCI participantes en ENVIN-HELICS del año 2018 con participación voluntaria en el registro oncológico. Pacientes Ingresados más de 24 horas. Entre estos aquellos diagnosticados de neoplasia en los últimos 5 años. Variables principales Las generales epidemiológicas del registro ENVIN-HELICS y variables relacionadas con la neoplasia. Resultados En las 92 UCI con datos completos se seleccionaron 11.796 pacientes, de los que 1.786 (15,1%) son pacientes con neoplasia. La proporción de pacientes con cáncer por unidad fue muy variable (rango: 1-48%). La mortalidad en UCI de los pacientes oncológicos fue superior a los no oncológicos (12,3% versus 8,9%; p < 0,001). En pacientes oncológicos predominaron los ingresados en el postoperatorio programado (46,7%) o urgente (15,3%). Los pacientes con proceso patológico médico fueron más graves, con mayor estancia y mortalidad (27, 5%). Aquellos ingresados en UCI por enfermedad no quirúrgica relacionada con el cáncer tuvieron la mortalidad más alta (31,4%). Conclusión Existe una gran variabilidad en el porcentaje de pacientes oncológicos en las diferentes UCI. El 46,7% de los pacientes ingresa tras someterse a cirugía programada. La mayor mortalidad corresponde a pacientes con enfermedad médica (27,5%) y a los ingresados por complicaciones relacionadas con el cáncer (31,4%). Comparisons were made between patients with and without neoplastic disease, and groups of cancer patients with a poorer outcome were identified. Setting Intensive Care Units participating in ENVIN-HELICS 2018, with voluntary participation in the oncological registry. Patients Subjects admitted during over 24 hours and diagnosed with cancer in the last 5 years. Primary endpoints The general epidemiological endpoints of the ENVIN-HELICS registry and cancer-related variables. Results Of the 92 ICUs with full data, a total of 11,796 patients were selected, of which 1786 (15.1%) were cancer patients. The proportion of cancer patients per Unit proved highly variable (1-48%). In-ICU mortality was higher among the cancer patients than in the non-oncological subjects (12.3% versus 8.9%; P < .001). Elective postoperative (46.7%) or emergency admission (15.3%) predominated in the cancer patients. Patients with medical disease were in more serious condition, with longer stay and greater mortality (27.5%). The patients admitted in ICU due to nonsurgical disease related to cancer exhibited the highest mortality rate (31.4%). Conclusions Great variability was recorded in the percentage of cancer patients in the different ICUs. A total of 46.7% of the patients were admitted after undergoing scheduled surgery. The highest mortality rate corresponded to patients with medical disease (27.5%), and to those admitted due to cancer-related complications (31.4%).

Este artículo desarrolla una reflexión sobre los procesos históricos que confluyen en la caída del Muro de Berlín, centrándose particularmente en el doble movimiento de los totalitarismos nacionalsocialista y soviético, cuya violencia determinó el curso del siglo XX. La propuesta es profundizar en la historia y advertir la singularidad de lo ocurrido en 1989 desde la perspectiva contemporánea. Al mismo tiempo, se destaca el significado del cambio de época para las ciencias sociales, al propiciar la reconstrucción de sus concepciones teóricas. Se plantea que el giro de la historia permitió el despliegue de múltiples debates que han ido delineando nuestra perspectiva de los complejos problemas del mundo actual. Es a partir de 1989 que se hace posible comprender cuestiones fundamentales, entre ellas la importancia estratégica del pensamiento democrático en sus múltiples dimensiones. Este reconocimiento corresponde a las capacidades reflexivas de las ciencias sociales y es consonante con las de la cultura., This article is a reflection on the historical processes that converged during the fall of the Berlin Wall, particularly on the two paths taken by the totalitarian movement and their violence, which defined the course of the 20th century. It aims to examine the historical background leading to the events of 1989 and their singularity from a contemporary perspective. It also emphasizes the meaning of a change of epoch in the realm of social sciences owing to the subsequent reconstruction of its theoretical conceptions. Multiple discussions unfolded and greatly influenced our understanding of nowadays complex problems. 1989 was a critical moment that laid the foundation for understanding fundamental issues, such as the strategic importance of democratic thinking in its various dimensions.

El presente estudio trata de entender la situación actual del ocio juvenil, recogiendo las voces de los y las jóvenes que lo protagonizan, con una mirada particular sobre las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación. Han pasado más de 30 años desde el inicio de los procesos de reforma psiquiátrica, periodo además de importantes e intensos cambios sociales, científicos y culturales que afectan de manera directa a la enfermedad mental grave y a su manejo. Las mejoras del tratamiento farmacológico, un nuevo modelo de relación médico-paciente, el empoderamiento del paciente como elemento clave y la lucha contra el estigma social de la enfermedad, los cambios en la gestión de los recursos, el incremento de la carga que suponen los pacientes con patología menor en los centros de salud mental, las mejoras en el trabajo en equipo y en la coordinación de los recursos implicados… son algunas de las modificaciones importantes que condicionan el escenario de la atención en salud mental comunitaria. Se nos antoja, por tanto, como un buen momento para revisar el estado de los programas de gestión del trastorno mental grave en el adulto y de los centros de salud mental, y plantear dos cuestiones sencillas a la par que relevantes: dónde estamos y hacia dónde nos dirigimos.

El barómetro se realiza con una periodicidad bianual y recoge las percepciones y opiniones de las personas jóvenes sobre identidades de género, relaciones afectivas, estereotipos, inequidades y violencia. En concreto, este informe permite analizar cómo se posicionan chicos y chicas en relación a la violencia de género, la violencia en el marco de la pareja y el acoso en el ámbito escolar y laboral. To assess the epidemiology and outcome at discharge of cancer patients requiring admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).A descriptive observational study was made of data from the ENVIN-HELICS registry, combined with specifically compiled variables. Comparisons were made between patients with and without neoplastic disease, and groups of cancer patients with a poorer outcome were identified.Intensive Care Units participating in ENVIN-HELICS 2018, with voluntary participation in the oncological registry.Subjects admitted during over 24 h and diagnosed with cancer in the last 5 years.The general epidemiological endpoints of the ENVIN-HELICS registry and cancer-related variables.Of the 92 ICUs with full data, a total of 11,796 patients were selected, of which 1786 (15.1%) were cancer patients. The proportion of cancer patients per Unit proved highly variable (1%-48%). In-ICU mortality was higher among the cancer patients than in the non-oncological subjects (12.3% versus 8.9%; p .001). Elective postoperative (46.7%) or emergency admission (15.3%) predominated in the cancer patients. Patients with medical disease were in more serious condition, with longer stay and greater mortality (27.5%). The patients admitted to the ICU due to nonsurgical disease related to cancer exhibited the highest mortality rate (31.4%).Great variability was recorded in the percentage of cancer patients in the different ICUs. A total of 46.7% of the patients were admitted after undergoing scheduled surgery. The highest mortality rate corresponded to patients with medical disease (27.5%), and to those admitted due to cancer-related complications (31.4%).

El artículo constituye una reflexión sobre la relevancia antropológica de la acción moral sobre su propio sujeto, más allá de los criterios al uso basados en modelos interpretativos orientados a dilucidar la validez ética de las acciones externas. En este caso, el interés se centra en los efectos que las acciones tienen en el propio sujeto que las realiza, como base para una justificación de la ética desde su propio sujeto. Para ello se toma como referencia de partida un contexto profesional concreto, como es el área financiera.
