The study examines how family dynamics impact the career choices of students in the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) track, highlighting the role of familial support and guidance in achieving quality education and informed career decisions. It examined the relationship between family influence and career decisions within the context of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number four, focusing on Quality Education, among 161 ABM students at Tacurong National High School. It utilized a non-experimental quantitative research design employing descriptive-correlational techniques. Mean, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression analysis were employed for data interpretation. Results revealed high levels of family influence and career decisions. Specifically, indicators such as parental engagement and cultural values received high ratings for family influence, while parental support obtained a very high rating and career actions received a high-rating for-career decision. A moderate positive correlation was observed between family influence and career decisions among ABM students. Furthermore, both domains of family influence, parental engagement, and cultural values, significantly influenced the career decisions of ABM students. Consequently, it is suggested that prioritizing initiatives aimed at enhancing parental engagement and fostering cultural values within the educational setting can effectively bolster the career decisions of ABM students at Tacurong National High School, aligning with the objectives of SDG4. This study aims to analyze the role of career exploration behavior as a mediator of the relationship between social support and career decision self-efficacy (CDSE) among high school students. This study used a cross-sectional study design with a quantitative approach. The participants were in 10th and 11th grade in Jabodetabek High Schools (N = 130). Data were collected using convenience sampling. The instruments used in this research comprised the Career Decision Self-Efficacy-Short Form (CDSE-SF), Adolescent Social Support Scales (ASSS), and Career Exploration Survey (CES). All data were analyzed statistically by descriptive, correlation, and mediation analysis. The results show that career exploration behavior fully mediates the relationship between social support and CDMSE (c = 0.208; p < 0.001). While external support from parents, teachers, and friends is crucial, internal factors are equally essential to help high school students plan their careers effectively. High school students need access to various useful information from their surroundings to actively engage in career exploration and gain the confidence needed to make informed career decisions. In this study, it was found that for students to have career decision self-efficacy, social support and career exploration behavior are needed in high school students.

Vocational interests have been an important concept for career decision making and counseling. However, while researchers have separately explored the criterion validity of interest congruence and the formation mechanism of interests, there has been little joint, interactive consideration of the two key aspects of interests. A key issue remains unclear: Could interests with different focal formation mechanisms have different consequences? Drawing on the motivation and vocational literature, this article first explains why it is possible and necessary to differentiate the formation mechanisms of interests in terms of motivational focus (intrinsic, extrinsic-autonomous, and extrinsic-controlled). Then, it formulates how the motivational focus of interests interacts with the performance focus of environments (quality-oriented vs. quantity-oriented) and the value focus of individuals (intrinsic vs. extrinsic satisfaction) in shaping the criterion validity of congruence. By linking what people like with why they like it, the joint interest formation and consequence model (a) delineates the motivational, performance, and value moderators of congruence–criterion links and explains previous results; (b) suggests assessment strategies that can facilitate research and practice related to the joint model and marginalized populations; and (c) provides insights into the flexible use of interests in different scenarios of career selection. Public Significance Statement: The present article advocates a joint consideration of interest development and consequences in career selection. There is limited information concerning the experiences and career decision-making processes of male sex workers in South Korea. The aim of this study was to understand the motivations, career decisions, and decision-making processes of a group of male university students and graduates who decided to join the sex work profession in South Korea as part of their career development. Qualitative research design and snowball strategies were employed in 2021 with nine male sex workers. Interview sessions, online focus group activity, remarkable items sharing, and member-checking interview sessions were undertaken to collect rich stories and promote understanding of male sex workers who are completing or have completed their bachelor's degrees in South Korea. Based on the social cognitive career and motivation theory, three main themes were highlighted: (1) financial consideration, (2) personal interest in sexual activities, and (3) limited career opportunities for the younger generation. The findings illustrate the motivations of a group of educated male sex workers and the social issues for sex workers in South Korea. Switching from a white-collar professional to a sex worker is not an easy step, particularly for individuals with a postgraduate degree in South Korea who may have significant expectations from their parents, peers, and communities. Based on the social stigma theory and social cognitive career and motivation theory, this study aims to understand how stress and pressure impact the motivations, career decisions, and decision-making processes of individualized and freelance male sex workers and their career transition experiences in South Korea. Based on the thematic analysis, ten highly educated male sex workers joined and shared their experiences. The researchers categorized three main finding themes, including (a) not liking the office and white-collar positions, (b) not wanting to hide sexuality as gay and bisexual men, and (c) financial considerations play a significant role in experiences and career decision-making processes. This study examined the social stigma, challenges, and career decision-making processes of male sex workers who previously held whitecollar positions in South Korea but switched to sex work after a few years of service. Based on the outcomes of this study based upon the voices from the male sex workers, government leaders and non-profit organizational workers should use this study as a reference to establish support and plans to help sex workers due to their situations and social challenges. Objective: We conducted this study to evaluate the effect of the audiology undergraduate program education on students' professional self-esteem and career decision-making. Method: This study, which was planned as a descriptive crosssectional study, included a total of 223 students, 168 females (75.3%) and 55 males (24.7%), studying at the Department of Audiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, a university in Türkiye, who were open to communication and agreed to participate in the study. Via Google Forms, we administered a Personal Introduction Form, Arıcak Professional Self-Esteem Scale (APSES), and the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale (CDSS). Results: There was no statistically significant difference in the mean APSES total score according to the school years of the students (p=0.05). There was a statistically significant difference between school years and total scores and scores of all sub-dimensions of the CDSS (p<0.05). There was a moderate statistically significant positive correlation between students' APSES scores and CDSS scores (r=0.459, p=0.001*). Conclusion: We observed that audiology education was not effective on students' professional self-esteem, but it was effective on their career decision-making competence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aimed to determine the characteristics of conformity and self-efficacy in career decision-making and the relationship between conformity and self-efficacy in career decision-making in class XII students. This study used a quantitative correlational method with a sample of class XII students at SMA Negeri 2 Nganjuk who were selected using a cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used were a conformity scale and a self-efficacy scale of career decision-making compiled by researchers based on theory. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive and Pearson product-moment correlation analyses. The role of emotions in career decision-making is receiving increasing attention, but few studies have assessed the role of gratitude, especially in the context of the trade-off between intrinsic and extrinsic motivators (i.e., interest vs. salary) influencing career decisions. Therefore, in the present research we conducted four studies to test the primary hypothesis that gratitude increases the preference for vocational interest relative to salary in career decision-making, as well as the underlying mechanism. The results from Studies 1 (N = 206) and 2 (N = 202), which used a measure of dispositional gratitude, and those of Study 3 (N = 176), which manipulated gratitude, showed that gratitude led to a stronger preference for interest relative to salary in terms of influencing career decisions. Study 4 (N = 489) provided an explanation for these results, revealing that self-esteem mediated the effect of gratitude on career choices. Overall, the results demonstrated the cognitive effect of gratitude in career decision-making, and suggested a need to study how discrete positive emotions influence career decisions. Career selection in medicine is a complex and underexplored process. Most medical career studies performed in the U.S. focused on the effect of demographic variables and medical education debt on career choice. Considering ongoing U.S. physician workforce shortages and the trilateral adaptive model of career decision making, a robust assessment of professional attitudes and work-life preferences is necessary. The objective of this study was to explore and define the dominant viewpoints related to career choice selection in a cohort of U.S. IM residents. We administered an electronic Q-sort in which 218 IM residents sorted 50 statements reflecting the spectrum of opinions that influence postgraduate career choice decisions. Participants provided comments that explained the reasoning behind their individual responses. In the final year of residency training, we ascertained participating residents' chosen career. Factor analysis grouped similar sorts and revealed four distinct viewpoints. We characterized the viewpoints as "Fellowship-Bound-Academic," "Altruistic-Longitudinal-Generalist," "Inpatient-Burnout-Aware," and "Lifestyle-Focused-Consultant." There is concordance between residents who loaded significantly onto a viewpoint and their ultimate career choice. Four dominant career choice viewpoints were found among contemporary U.S. IM residents. These viewpoints reflect the intersection of competing priorities, personal interests, professional identity, socio-economic factors, and work/life satisfaction. Better appreciation of determinants of IM residents' career choices may help address workforce shortages and enhance professional satisfaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Career indecision is a substantial challenge for multicultural adolescents in South Korea. This study investigated the role of acculturation stress in adolescents and their parents in multicultural families on career decisions in South Korea. Perceived career barriers by adolescents and career-related behaviors of their parents were included as mediators. Using national panel data from 1695 cases longitudinally collected over the 3 years, the mediation analysis was conducted. The results showed that acculturation stress experienced by both adolescents and parents negatively predicted the adolescents' career decisions. In addition, a sequential mediation effect of parental career-related behaviors and adolescents' career barriers was found in the relationship between parental acculturation stress and adolescents' career decisions. These results highlight the importance of acculturative stress experienced by families, and not just by individuals, in understanding the career development of multicultural adolescents. The extended social cognitive career theory (SCCT) suggests that career intentions are influenced by person inputs, background contextual affordances, learning experiences, self-efficacy expectations and outcome expectations, as well as satisfaction and well-being in academic and work settings. The main purpose of the current study was to examine the career intentions of South African high school learners towards a career in the accounting field. Using proportionate stratified random sampling, 305 learners from eight high schools in a rural community were surveyed. Respondents' intentions to pursue a career in accounting were significantly positively correlated with self-efficacy expectations and outcome expectations. Work satisfaction, earning potential, self-efficacy expectations, personal interest, Accounting being offered as a subject and having a family member in the accounting field are factors influencing participants' career choice. The high school period is of critical importance for career orientation, which has a determining effect on an individual's personality and life. In career orientation, an individual's perception of career decision competence is important. The aim of this study is to determine high school students' perceptions of career decision competence and analyse them according to demographic variables. The research was conducted in survey model. The sample consisted of 388 high school students and the data were collected with the "Career Decision Competence Expectation Scale" and analysed with descriptive statistical techniques. The results obtained from the analysis are as follows: Participating high school students are confident in their career decision competence expectation. These perceptions of students do not differ significantly according to other demographic variables except gender. According to gender, male students' perception of career decision competence is higher than that of female students. High school students' perception of themselves as competent in career decision making is important for their future employment. However, the fact that the perception level of these students on career decision making is at the level of "I trust" rather than "I trust a lot" can be considered as a deficiency, albeit partial. Because, according to the relevant theories, those who consider themselves very competent in the competitive labour market have a better chance of a job and career. With regard to career decision competence, participant high school students are most confident in using the Internet. This is followed by planning for the future and learning about possible changes in the profession. Students have relatively lower perceptions about coping with academic problems in their chosen field and evaluating their abilities correctly. Possible reasons for these relatively low perceptions of students may be experience and cognitive deficits. These may be due to the fact that students use the internet for purposes other than obtaining career-related information and connecting with the labour market, and the inadequacy of vocational guidance services and school-industry relations in the high schools where they study. This research aims to determine the factors affecting university students' regrets regarding career decisions. The study utilized a mixed-method approach, specifically an explanatory sequential mixed design, which is one of the mixed-method designs. The quantitative phase involved 249 undergraduate students enrolled in the 2022-2023 academic year at Trabzon University Faculty of Education, while the qualitative phase included five students selected from this sample group using the criterion sampling method. The researchers collected quantitative data using the "Career Decision Regret Scale", adapted into Turkish by Erdurcan and Kırdök, along with a "Personal Information Form" developed by the researchers. Qualitative data was gathered through semi - structured interviews. Based on the quantitative findings, significant differences in university students' levels of career decision regret were observed in relation to gender and academic year, while no statistically significant difference was found based on department. The qualitative findings identified four main themes influencing students' regrets about career decisions: occupational, family, environmental, and psychological factors. The Philippines is one of the three countries in the world and the only country in Asia that only offered 10 years of basic education until the young Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 was signed and enacted. Aiming to equip the learners to be globally competitive future professionals, the said law was designed to offer graduates four expected curriculum exits - employment, entrepreneurship, tertiary education, and middle skills development (www.officialgazette.gov.ph, 2017). With this, the researcher conducted a Descriptive Correlation Research that examined the learners chosen track and strand and its relationship to their taken curriculum exits after graduating in Senior High School. The said research used a researcher-made questionnaire, where 564 SHS graduates from a private institution in Plaridel, Bulacan participated. The research revealed that more than threefourth of the SHS graduates pursued Tertiary Education after the program, where high percentage are enrolled in teacher education and tourism management courses. Whereas, the others opted to ventured employment and entrepreneurship, 10.11% and 7.09%. Using Pearson-r Correlation, the research discovered that Senior High School Track and Strands and the pursued curriculum exits of the graduates has a significant relationship and demonstrate a positive correlation. Thus, this, concluded that implemented Career Guidance and Counseling Program implemented on the institutions were effective on helping the graduates on arriving to right career decision. Studies in the five recent years have shown that more than half of Nigerian undergraduate students changed their study programs and career decisions. Notwithstanding this fact, lack of research addresses factors that affect the Nigerian undergraduate students made such a decision. Therefore, the present study aims to explore the influence of academic performance, family support, and interest on career decision of undergraduate students in Jigawa state Nigeria. A set of questionnaires was utilized as an instrument to collect the data from a total of 373 Nigerian undergraduate students. Drawing on correlational study using structural equation modelling approach, this study revealed that academic reason (t=3.452; β=0.191; P=0.001) and family support (t=4.554; β=0.234; P=0.000) have statistically significant correlation with career decision making of the students. On the contrary, interest was empirically proven to not have a significant relationship with the career decision making (t=0.899; β=-.056; P=0.369). Thus, it is concluded that academic reason and family support play more crucial role in determining the career decision of undergraduate students in Nigeria than their interest abilities. This study provides implication for Nigerian government and non-government organizations to massively educate parents and families so that they can encourage their children’s career paths and support their career choices.

Foundation years or internships are an important period for junior doctors to apply their knowledge and gain clinical competency. Experiences gained during the foundation years or internships are likely to inform newly qualified doctors' opinions about how they want to continue their career. We aimed to understand how medical doctors' internship experiences influence their career intention/decision. We conducted qualitative evidence synthesis using meta-ethnography. We searched six electronic bibliographic databases for papers published between 2000–2020 and included papers exploring how foundation years or internship experiences shape doctors' career intention/decisions, including in relation to migration, public/private/dual practice preference, rural/urban preference, and specialty choice. We used the GRADE-CERQual framework to rate confidence in review findings. We examined 23 papers out of 6085 citations screened. We abstracted three high-level inter-related themes across 14 conceptual categories: (1) Deciding the personal best fit both clinically and in general (which option is 'more me'?) through hands-on and real-life experiences (2) Exploring, experiencing and witnessing workplace norms; and (3) Worrying about the future in terms of job market policies, future training and professional development opportunities. Confidence in findings varied but was rated high in 8 conceptual categories. Our meta-ethnographic review revealed a range of ways in which internship experience shapes medical doctors' career intentions/decisions allowing us to produce a broad conceptual model of this phenomenon. The results highlight the importance of ensuring sufficient, positive and inspiring clinical exposure, improving workplace environment, relationship and culture, refraining from undermining specific specialities and communicating contractual and job market policies early on to young doctors, in order to attract doctors to less popular specialties or work locations where they are most needed. A flight attendant experiences the grandeur of traveling around the world while being paid, having the means to travel across borders for free, having insurance and safety, meeting diverse groups of people, and experiencing new cultures. As the aspirants are keen to accomplish their future occupation, there are also several perceived hindrances that become an obstacle to their decision to meet airline industry standards. This study aims to evaluate the credentials and criteria imposed by airlines to influence individuals' decisions to pursue a career in the airline industry as a flight attendant. This study employed a descriptive correlation using a convenience approach with 346 respondents from two ICEaccredited universities in Manila. The study reveals that aspiring flight attendants have a high level of career confidence due to the unique and diverse benefits and opportunities of being a flight attendant. Moreover, there is a significant relationship between aspirants' perceptions of their qualifications and their career decisions. The Kruskal-Wallis H Test showed that there is no notable difference in how the aspirants perceive the qualifications of being a flight attendant when they are grouped based on their year level. Using Spearman's rho correlation coefficient, it indicates a significant and moderate relationship between the physical qualifications and the career decision, while a moderately significant correlation exists between the academic qualifications and the career decision of the aspirants. This study fills the gap by fostering awareness among aspiring flight attendants' decisionmaking processes to be qualified, enhancing their chances of employability, and The study also revealed that qualifications are necessary for an airline to achieve excellence and professionalism in the workplace and to preserve its reputation. Creating impressions that will benefit the airline company. Overall, the airline industry's physical, academic, and skills qualifications have a significant influence on the career choice of the aspirants, which can help them decide their future profession. The study explored the relationship between career choice and students' personality traits among university students. The study employed quantitative research approach and correlational research design to test the hypotheses. Questionnaire was used to gather data from the respondents. Three hundred and fifty-four (354) students were selected through multi-stage sampling approach. The study was limited to final year students in three universities. The data were analysed using Pearson correlation coefficient and independent sample t-test. It was found that there is statistically significant relationship between career choice and personality trait. It was further observed that career choice of females and males do not differ. It was recommended that the institutions formulate a policy to ensure that counselors continue to educate students on the essence of career choice and personality traits. Vocational interest inventories play an important role in supporting adolescents and young adults in their vocational choice. However, existing verbal and pictorial questionnaires have limitations regarding the complexity, abstraction level, and ambiguity of the item material. The presented research attempts to overcome these limitations by developing a new pictorial questionnaire. Study 1 describes the construction process of the Nonverbal Vocational Interest Scale (NVIS) and its psychometric properties, evaluation, and construct validation. Data from N = 363 adolescents and young adults in lower secondary school and vocational training centres were considered. Study 2 was conducted to confirm convergent and discriminant validity. N = 237 adolescents and young adults completed the revised form of the NVIS and the Photo-Interest-Inventory (F-I-T). The results confirm that the NVIS is a reliable and valid computer-based instrument for assessing vocational interests. Limitations and implications for further research and use in vocational training and counselling settings are discussed.

Background and Aims: The decision to stay in nursing has been challenged by the recent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic. New nurses joined the workforce and provided care to patients with COVID‐19 although they received limited training, which could have influenced their intention to stay in nursing. We aimed in this study to examine the impact of caring for patients with COVID‐19 on career decisions, resilience, and perceived self‐efficacy among newly hired nurses in Jordan. It also tested the predictors of intentions to stay among new nurses. Methods: This cross‐sectional quantitative study was conducted using an online electronic questionnaire form. The sample included newly hired nurses (n = 300) working in public hospitals and providing care to patients with COVID‐19 in different levels of acuity units. The perceived stress scale and Connor−Davidson resilience scale 25 were used to measure stress and resilience among nurses. Results: The majority chose nursing as their career, but they were not satisfied with the current work conditions or autonomy in decision‐making. Many nurses reported having moderate to high work‐related stress and low to moderate resilience. Among all variables in this study, financial income predicted mild intention to stay in nursing. Conclusions: Nurses expressed the presence of work‐related stress and low to moderate levels of resilience. As new nurses, exposure to these stress levels might lead to burnout. Nursing managers should take necessary measures to promote better work conditions and improve resilience to avoid nurses leaving the profession at times when there is a shortage. Objectives: This study was carried out to determine the effects of post-earthquake trauma levels of nursing students on their academic motivation and career decisions., Methods: The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 228 students studying at Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University, Department of Nursing. The data were collected using an online questionnaire created by the researchers. This online questionnaire form consists of seven questions about socio-demographic characteristics, and it also includes the Determination of Post-Earthquake Trauma Levels Scale, Academic Motivation Scale, and Career Decision Scale. SPSS 23.0 package program was used for the analysis of the data, and P < 0.05 was accepted for the level of significance., Results: It was determined that the post-earthquake trauma level of the students was above the moderate level (63.49 ± 17.29) and that the extrinsic motivation-identified regulation, extrinsic motivation-external motivation, and intrinsic-knowledge levels were more affected by the earthquake ( P < 0.05). In addition, it was determined that the mean Career Decision Scale score of the students (74.20 ± 17.35) was below the average., Conclusions: It was determined that post-earthquake trauma level had positive effects on intrinsic motivation-stimulation, extrinsic motivation, and amotivation, but had no effect on career decision.

A large number of high school senior students are unable to make decisions on their own because of the complexity of the educational and occupational worlds, particularly when it comes to picking the appropriate vocation. This study ventures on the influential factors among senior high school students' career preferences in a private school. The descriptive survey method of research was used in this investigation. The respondents of the study were the Senior High School Students of the University of St. Louis Tuguegarao. The research instruments used in the study were the Brainard Occupational Preferences Inventory (BOPI), the questionnaire, and the career choice checklist. The findings show that respondents preferred professional work over non-professional ones. The most popular field of study among students was discovered to be the professional field, while the least popular field of study among those who responded was discovered to be the mechanical field. According to the findings of the study, when deciding on a career path, a job seeker should take into consideration his family's present financial status. Although money should not be the only element examined when choosing a career, it is an important one to take into consideration. Choosing a career path is one of the most significant decision an individual will make. This quantitative research utilizing both comparative and correlational approaches aimed to assess and describe the career decisions and dilemmas of senior high school students in disadvantaged schools. Respondents in this study were 831 Grade 11 students from four schools who shared a common characteristic. Results show that respondents are aware of the need to make career decisions, there are significant differences between the assessment of the respondents in terms of awareness on the need to make career decisions when grouped according to age and sex. In terms of career decision-making, the respondents have high perceptions; there are significant differences between the assessment of the respondents in terms of their perception on career decision-making when grouped according to age and sex: there is a significant relationship between the respondents' awareness of the need to make career decisions and their career decision-making. And a career guidance program is essential to guide students on their career decisions. The respondents are also aware on the dilemmas they are facing in terms of decision-making. Career decision making has a well-defined influence on a student's future. Thus, parents and the career guidance counselor should continue informing and guiding the students about the significance of choosing a career path. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Plastic surgery is a broad field that requires a mixed skillset. Therefore, it is important that students be exposed to all its various subspecialties to make informed career decisions and to properly refer patients in different clinical situations. A nationwide survey was conducted of Israeli medical students to investigate their knowledge and perceptions regarding the field of plastic surgery and its subspecialties, and the impact of a clinical rotation in plastic surgery on these factors. A total of 300 subjects responded. Approximately, 61% of the cohort was female and 70% were enrolled in a 6-year program. About one-third stated that their field of interest was surgical rather than medical. Significant variability was noted in the accuracy of responses to questions about different procedures encompassed in the scope of plastic surgery. Although 90% of the students were aware of some common plastic surgery procedures that are also often thought to be well known to the public, only 50% were able to correctly identify lesser-known surgeries performed by plastic surgeons. Knowledge about plastic surgery was unrelated to an interest in the field. We recommend adjusting preclinical instruction and clinical rotations in plastic surgery to better prepare students to select a specialty best suited to their future goals, as well as to improve their ability to refer patients to other specialists as necessary. The current study aimed to identify the level of career decision-making difficulties and career decision self-efficacy, and find out whether there are differences in the level of career decision-making difficulties and career decision self-efficacy according to gender and academic specialization variables. In addition, it was aimed at detecting the degree of the relative contribution of career decision self-efficacy in predicting career decision-making difficulties. To achieve the objective of the study, career decision-making difficulties scale, and career decision self-efficacy scale were used. The study sample consisted of 699 male and female secondary school students, chosen by the purposive method. The results of the study showed that the level of career decision-making difficulties was low, and the level of career decision self-efficacy was high. Results showed statistically significant differences in the level of career decision-making difficulties due to gender, the difficulty level among females being higher than that of males, but showed no statistically significant differences in the level of career decision-making difficulties due to academic specialization. The results also showed statistically significant differences in the level of career decision self-efficacy due to gender, in favour of males, and statistically significant differences in the level of career decision self-efficacy due to academic specialization, in favour literary specialization, while results showed a statistically significant relative correlation between career decision self-efficacy and prediction of career decision-making difficulty. This study was undertaken to investigate whether career decision self-efficacy (CDSE) could mediate the relationships of career adaptability with emotional intelligence and with self-esteem among university students. Using cluster random sampling, a total of 205 university students aged 22 to 24 years (M age = 23.0, SD = .875) were selected as respondents. The strongest linear relationship was found between CDSE and career adaptability (r = .568, p = .001). Besides CDSE the main predictor of career adaptability (β = .354, p = .000), emotional intelligence (β = .282, p = .000) and self-esteem (β = .145, p = .019) also contributed significantly to career adaptability. CDSE was found to significantly mediate the influences of emotional intelligence and self-esteem on career adaptability. These results suggest that undergraduate students’ emotional intelligence, self-esteem and CDSE are substantially associated with career adaptability, which plays an important role in workforce efficiency and graduates’ employability.

Abstract: This study aims to examine the role of proactive personality as a mediator of the relationship between parental support in career and self-efficacy in career decision making in junior high school students. The research sample of 140 people obtained by accidental sampling. The instruments used were Career-Related Parent Support Scale, Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form, and Proactive Personality Scale which had been adapted into Indonesian. The data were analyzed by regression using PROCESS macros suggested by Hayes. The results showed that proactive personality partially mediates the relationship between parental support in career and self-efficacy in career decision making. Further analysis shows that: (1) proactive personality partially mediates the relationship between parental support in the form of instrumental assistance and self-efficacy in career decision making; (2) proactive personality partially mediates the relationship between parental support in the form of career modeling and self-efficacy in career decision making; (3) proactive personality partially mediates the relationship between parental support in the form of emotional support with self-efficacy in career decision making; and; (4) proactive personality fully mediates the relationship between parental support in the form of verbal encouragement with self-efficacy in career decision making. The implications, limitations and suggestions for further research are discussed as follows. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran kepribadian proaktif sebagai mediator hubungan antara dukungan orangtua dalam karier dan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 140 orang yang diperoleh dengan accidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Career-Related Parent Support Scale, Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form, dan Proactive Personality Scale yang sudah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Data dianalisis dengan uji regresi menggunakan macro PROCESS oleh Hayes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepribadian proaktif memediasi secara parsial hubungan antara dukungan orangtua dalam karier dan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier. Analisis lanjutan menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kepribadian proaktif memediasi secara parsial hubungan antara dukungan orangtua yang berupa bantuan instrumental dan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier; (2) kepribadian proaktif memediasi secara parsial hubungan antara dukungan orangtua yang berupa pemodelan karier dan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier; (3) kepribadian proaktif memediasi secara parsial hubungan antara dukungan orangtua yang berupa dukungan emosional dengan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier; dan (4) kepribadian proaktif memediasi secara utuh hubungan antara dukungan orangtua yang berupa dorongan verbal dengan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier. Implikasi, limitasi dan saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya didiskusikan.

Human resources play an important role in the life cycle of any organization and in its interaction with the external environment. The disadvantages and advantages of the internal environment are mainly manifested through the part of human resources that directly affects the behavior of the organization. Proper staff selection and career management directly affect the organization, its internal environment and position in the external environment. Employee career management also means creating an environment in which individuals make decisions about career advancement. Lack of willingness to engage in the decision-making process is considered one of the most significant difficulties in making career decisions. In the last ten years, the modern environment for living and working has inevitably encountered cyberspace. The most significant and influential forms of cyberspace in real life are the Internet, social networks and mobile phones. Mobile phones provide Internet access to customers anywhere and anytime, while the Internet provides access to social networks. The average cyberspace user has access to a large amount of data and information that can disrupt or slow him down in decision-making, and even in the career decision process. Social network users have the opportunity to be informed in real time about important events in the environment, as well as about the activities and reactions of important people that can influence their behavior. The subject of this paper is the possibility of the cyberspace influence on career decision because cyberspace has become a part of everyday living space. The aim of this paper was, based on the results of research described in the literature, to determine the possibility of performing friendly influence operations from cyberspace, based on psychological theories, in order to influence decision-making on career advancement. The paper confirms that cyberspace can be used to influence the career decision by performing friendly influence operations based on psychological theories of decision - making and influence. Friendly influence operations in cyberspace are defined as activities of individuals or organizations in cyberspace consciously aimed at trying to change the attitudes and behavior of individuals, small or large groups of people in order to achieve their or their well-being work and / or living environment. The Theory of Planned Behavior has been proposed as a theoretical basis for achieving a friendly influence operation. As the most appropriate ways of approaching the target group of the influence operation on career decision in cyberspace, e-mail is proposed in the paper for submitting personalized affirmative material on career advancement in electronic form, and sending informative and so-called social messages via social networks. The importance of the term cyber personality in the process of selecting the target group of cyberspace impact operations and its role in creating conditions for performing cyberspace impact operations for the needs of hybrid warfare is pointed out.

Objectives: Canadian regulations have made it challenging for the international medical graduates (IMGs) to get jobs in their original profession as physicians. Consequently, alternative careers are gaining interest among IMGs to avoid underemployment or unemployment. We conducted research to identify the factors that IMGs consider for taking up an alternative career in Canada. Based on those understandings, we aimed to create a database where information about health-related alternative jobs is presented in a searchable way, which can aid IMGs' strategic job search. Data description: We first determined job searching preferences and constraints for IMGs regarding alternative career through focus groups. We used their preferred and constraining factors for collecting job-specific information through systematically reviewing job advertisements. Using this information, we created a database that contains available alternative career pathways for IMGs living in Canada. In total, we have identified 1374 job titles under 192 unique job categories comprising 47 National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes that could be suitable for IMGs seeking an alternative career based on their own short, intermediate, and long-term career goals. The aim of the present study is twofold. The first is to what extent the work volition is predicted by career decision self-efficacy and career decision ambiguity tolerance when socioeconomic status is under control. The second is to examine whether the work volition of undergraduate students changes by gender. Data were collected from 327 (226 women, 100 men, and one missing) undergraduate students. As a result of the analysis, we found that women's work volition was significantly higher than men's. In addition, when the socioeconomic situation is under control, it has been concluded that career decision self-efficacy and career decision ambiguity tolerance together significantly predict the work volition. The research findings were discussed based on the literature within the framework of the limitations of the research, and suggestions were made for future studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
