The development of this study focuses on the analysis of the phenomenon of femicide and its injustice in the face of the growth in rates of violence in Ecuador, taking as reference the different sources of law such as legislation, jurisprudence and doctrine. The applied methodology was based on the inductive method, suitable for a qualitative, analytical, documentary and bibliographical study, using legal hermeneutics as an analysis technique, which has been developed based on the current applicable legal regulations. The results obtained show that certainly given the growing number of gender violence in the country, there has been an increase in cases of femicide. Faced with this situation, the state, in its role as guarantor of human rights, has developed a legal system that includes femicide as a criminal offense, in addition, it has established plans and policies aimed at safeguarding integrity, ensuring women a life free of violence. . However, the regulations, plans and policies designed have not been sufficient to face this social scourge, so it is necessary for the State to promote education on violence against women, in addition to ensuring the execution of measures of protection of the victim to deal with violence and consequently femicide., El desarrollo del presente estudio se centra en el análisis del fenómeno del femicidio y su injusticia frente al crecimiento de los índices de violencia en el Ecuador, tomando como referentes las distintas fuentes de derecho como la legislación, la jurisprudencia y la doctrina. La metodología aplicada se basó en el método inductivo, adecuado para un estudio cualitativo, analítico, documental y bibliográfico, empleando como técnica de análisis la hermenéutica jurídica, la cual ha sido desarrollada en función de la normativa legal aplicable actual. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian que ciertamente ante la creciente cifra de violencia de género en el país, se ha producido un incremento de los casos de femicidio. Ante esta situación, el estado en su rol de garante de los derechos humanos, ha desarrollado un ordenamiento jurídico que incluye el femicidio como tipo penal, además, ha establecido planes y políticas tendientes a resguardar la integridad asegurar a las mujeres una vida libre de violencia. No obstante, las normativas, planes y políticas diseñadas no han sido suficientes para enfrentar este flagelo social, por lo que es preciso que el Estado se avoque a fomentar la educación sobre la violencia contra la mujer, además que asegure la ejecución de las medidas de protección a la víctima para hacerle frente a la violencia y en consecuencia al femicidio.

The SPEEP mode uses novel peristaltic technology permitting independent control of flow and vacuum.Methods: A porcine lens model was used with an enclosed chamber simulating the anterior segment. Grooving efficiency is evaluated with flow rates of 10, 30, and 50 mL/min using whole lenses. Lens cubes were emulsified at 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100% power with both SPEEP and non-SPEEP modes. Surge was evaluated with pressure gauges placed on the irrigation tubing and aspiration tubing. Pressure readings were recorded per the following: fluid and vacuum were initiated for 15 seconds, vacuum tubing was occluded for 5 seconds, tubing patency was then re-introduced for 15 seconds. Differences between sensors were recorded.Results: No significant increase in efficiency was seen with increasing flow rate from 30 to 50 mL/min using SPEEP. No significant differences were shown in lens fragment removal in SPEEP and non-SPEEP modes at any power tested. Pressure difference measurements were not significantly different with SPEEP and non-SPEEP modes.Conclusion: We showed that lower flow rates show comparable efficiency of grooving when using the SPEEP mode. The SPEEP function did not show increased efficiency in nuclear fragment removal when compared to traditional mode. Surge control was also comparable with both SPEE
